I was grabbed and pulled back my jacket by a bartender on Saturday night because I walked into a stall behind my friend to make the line go by faster. She then rolled her eyes at me and said "there are GIANT signs everywhere". I then went to go to the bar, and the bartender happened to be the lady who just grabbed me and when she realized it was me she ducked behind the bar pretending like she was getting something and then ran away from the bar and refused to serve me and acknowledge me. I'm very upset and she had no right to touch me and I went into the situation with no ill intention and went about it very kindly but was instantly met with a PHYSICAL reaction rather than a verbal, kind warning. I love this bar! It has such a unique vibe and great service. There are often people selling local art in the back area. The back area is SO cute and cozy. It has plenty of seating! Inside you can dance, or find one of the back rooms to chill or have someone read your tarot cards. read more

Really chill vibes. Visited on a Sunday evening for their weekly house music party. No cover charge during my visit. Loved the diversity of the DJs, including a number of Latino spinners. The crowd was chill. Bar prices were fair and I really liked the Mezcal drink with coffee bitters. Guy at the door was friendly and bag check was simple. 3.5 stars. I'm not a huge "going out" person, but it was my friend's birthday and she wanted to party. We walked over here after food and drink at Barcelona, just in time before cover fees started at 9pm. Drinks at the bar seemed basic and pricey, much like your typical nightclub. Everyone we interacted with who works here was friendly, though. Love the indoor and outdoor spaces--very colorful and artsy. Lots of room for people to sit or stand, though eventually it got pretty crowded. The bouncers are good about making sure it doesn't get TOO out of hand. A super heady place aka a Haven for people who love sweating inside a crowd of 20,000 and dressing up like anime game characters inside of a night club. The honey comb room is cool to look at especially if you're having a little bit extra fun. The backyard is the spot I almost always immediately go to as soon as I take a shot and grab my super typical bar made drink. Had a really unfortunate experience at this bar. While in a bathroom stall with my best friend on my birthday, the manager banged on our bathroom stall and rudely demanded we leave the bar. They police the bathroom and peek their heads under the stalls to make sure there's only 1 person per stall. It's completely immature and outrageous to ban girls from using a bathroom together. I am super disappointed in the treatment from the employees at this bar and I am saddened that this is what I was given after paying an overpriced entry fee. Super unfortunate. Not worth it at all, employees are on a crazy power trip, won't be back to this bar ever again. read more

This is generally not a good place to go dancing on a Friday or Saturday night. I really want it to be that, because they tend to have decent and sometimes great djs. From pretty early on in the night, people are posted up on the dance floor, not dancing. When you do carve out a place to dance, people just keep walking through you, interrupting your space. Your best bet is to find a couple other people trying to get their dance on and protecting your space with them. Regardless, drunk dudes will get up in your business and make it hard, hit on you, start doing that weird slow-motion moshing thing with their buds, reliving their garbagey college days. There are some promoted events, daytime events, and some Sunday events that have a different feel and that can be fun. I wish the people who run this place would try to make it less of a milling clusterf*ck of drunk people yelling at each other. I think it could really be different. read more

I was walking over to a near by brewery when I stumbled upon this place. I had no idea what it was and walked in to check it out. The bartender welcomed us in and was super friendly. The place has a few rooms that are designed by one or multiple artists. They do have shows here and even have a pretty big dance floor. This place is super fun, very artsy and kind of feels like you're in a different world. We did stop in super early 6pm and there was hardly anyone there. But this allowed us to be in the honey room and it was nice to have to ourselves as it is pretty small. read more

Really unique Burning Man themed bar. I loved all the decorations and little touches, like the 10 principles of beacon, which was posted in the bathroom stall. it was a huge space, indoor and outdoor, so I would recommend if you have a big group of friends! During the day at least. Apparently it gets really busy at night, but we got drinks in the middle of the day. The bartender was super nice. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because this isn't the bar to go to if you want *good* drinks. I ordered an aperol spritz from their menu and it wasn't great. They are known for their big gauntlets (large cups?haha) of seltzers. I will definitely go back to this bar, but I'll probably stick to mixies and beers. read more

This place sounded super cool so I was excited to check it out, unfortunately the experience wasn't what it was hyped up to be. The bouncer at the front door was on a serious power trip. He was being so ridiculous and not letting anyone in and talking a bunch of crap. We were a very non-rowdy respectable group of people just trying to get in so there was no reason for him to be acting this way. At first I thought he was just kidding around and trying to be funny but then I realized he was being serious. It got to the point where the manager (maybe it was the owner?) came over to see what was going on because no one was coming in and he realized the bouncer was being ridiculous and the manager made the bouncer leave the front door. Luckily the manager was cool and let us all in with no problem. The bouncer really put a sour taste in my mouth the rest of the night. I will say the decor inside was very cool. It definitely felt a bit like Tulum. The layout of the place is a bit weird and not super functional. The bar is long and kinda in a hallway right at the entrance so when it got crowded it was difficult to get a drink and hard to just get inside since you have to fight through a crowded path. It took forever to get a drink. The bartenders were nice enough but they needed help. The outside area in the back was pretty cool. Most of the night we hung out by the fire pits out there. The two "secret" back rooms were cool but at one point one of the art installations fell over and knocked a large heavy stool into me which didn't feel good. If you are going to have a bar with art, make sure it is secured well to the walls or ground! Overall, the experience was meh. It's a go once and see it, take a picture, and prob never go again place. Kinda gave me frat party vibes. read more

This place is so unique and eclectic, which each room having a different vibe. The rooms are somewhat small though and make it hard to socialize. We went kinda early in the night like around 8:45pm. They started charging a cover at 9pm, so we did miss that. We were at the main bar inside, which is pretty poorly placed. Its close to the entryway, so it gets crowded, and there isn't much space to stand in line and wait without literally getting stuck with branches from the decorations. There was also a DJ playing loud electronic music in front of a fairly empty dance floor. I don't know if this place really is in tune with what it's identity is as a bar. It was a cool place to walk through, see once, and probably never return to as it didn't really feel like a functional place to hang out with friends and meet people. read more

For the longest my friends Mozes and Andy of MOTHATUNG have been trying to get me to visit the Beacon. On this particular Sunday they were doing a Prize is Right event "adult style" and it was definitely fun. The venue is cool, cool atmosphere and lighting. Bartenders are awesome and friendly as well as the people that were running the game that day. We saw an amazing performance by MOTHATUNG and the sound and the space were top of the line.
