Came across this hidden gem by accident and what a special treat it was. Something about this place just feels so cool and relaxed and is the perfect place for a nightcap. All the drinks we had were great, I chose a Negroni which is my go to. The best part is they offer Underberg shots, which we'd never had before, but is a German digestif. If you're looking for a bar in downtown Denver, look no further, this is your sign to stop in.

Cute, cute, cute. Fun little bar near to Larimer Square. Decor is eclectic and hilarious. Drinks are stylish, fun, and reasonably priced for high end spirits. Our server was so nice and very knowledgeable about the menu and spirits in general. I opted for "The Woo Girl" which included "booze" as the ingredients. Bathroom design and decor are both top notch as well! Great find and great listing on The Westword's 100 new and noteworthy bars in Denver!

Cool spot with vintage vibes and a good place to socialize. Good pricing on Cocktails and they have an interesting selection and can also make something that you like. Friendly staff who keep you entertained.

I'm obsessed with this cocktail bar! My friend and I found Bedlam after having dinner at A5 Steakhouse just around the corner. We grabbed seats along the wall, which was beautifully designed and decorated. Their Sazerac (Cub's Sazzy) is unique and one of the best I've had. Would love to come back to try more cocktails on their menu and sit at their main bar. Perfect for a date night or nightcap after dinner downtown.

If the City of Denver can boast about some unique bar which gives you the 1920's Paris era ambiance where time stands still, then you should look no further. This space used to be Deep Roots Winery & Bistro which I utilized once in the past. I didn't know what had happened to them as my memory with them fell into oblivion. Apparently, it closed back in 2020 and the space had stood empty for years before the owner started to renovate the place and turned into a beautiful bar with all sorts of vintage stuff displayed throughout. Named after the first asylum for the mentally ill in England is a story that appears to have a deep meaning behind it, the bar's logo design is so intriguing and goes so well with the overall atmosphere of the bar. This place may be advertised as a bar with "European comfort food". The prices for the drinks and foods are extremely reasonable for the location (on Wazee) and the elevated atmosphere. This place, not like other places that have "closed days", is open 7 days a week from 4:30pm to 2am. People in Denver can rely on this place no matter what day of the week when they feel like a good bar food and a quick drink after work at 5pm or late into the night when you simply don't feel like going home because you just want to immerse yourself in some nostalgia. For me and my adult daughter, it was an early Christmas family dinner on a Tuesday night. I got a glass of Izadi Rioja Reserva and she got a glass of N/A Aperol Spritz. And to go with our drinks, we got us the Smoke Trout & Onion Dip and Baked Brie. On a wooden board, they gave us plenty of crackers and pieces of bread to savor the two dishes. Did we have any complaints to talk bad about any of the stuff we ordered? Absolutely not. No matter what your drink is, these two dishes will go well with it. A few things I would like to mention about this place: 1) This is not a place where you will expect to eat a lot of "filling" foods. After all, this is a cocktail bar with elevated bar foods. As far as we remember correctly, the menu for the food is quite small. Maybe you can eat lightly before you go here. But the drink options are plenty; it will not disappoint you. 2) Open bar seating only. I did call them ahead of time and made a (ghost) reservation but you might waste your effort by doing so. Just walk in and see if you can grab a table or a few bar seats. 3) This is more like a little suggestion to the bar staff/owner. The kind of music that was being played in the background was a bit of a mismatch to the overall ambiance. Like I said, this place is like stepping into 1920's Paris era (to me, that is how I describe it.) In my opinion, if they play the kind of music or songs used in the "Midnight In Paris" soundtrack, it would elevate the whole place to the next level (in short, some old jazz music would be great.) Well, ever since our last night's dining experience, I've told at least one of my good friends about this cocktail bar. Word of mouth is sometimes the best way to spread the good news; the good news about this place will most likely spread. As much as I want to keep this place secret as this is my "little gem" or "little jam", I simply couldn't hold back my excitement to be expressed on Yelp. So go check this place out.

i lov themed bars. this one was so founding father coded. from the wall decor to the glasses/bottles, it felt cool. drinks wise it wasn't the best thing but still yom and had cool names.

Excellent new cocktail bar in LoDo! A friend suggested this place and I was like "huh, what is that?" I had never heard of Bedlam until walking in. Once we made it inside I remembered this took over the former Deep Roots Winery space. The bar has a beautiful exposed brick wall, a carefully curated menu, and an overall aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. Definitely more of a cozy date spot, though us three dudes bellied up to the bar. I like places that serve craft cocktails, but don't judge you if you're in the mood for a shot and a beer. The bartenders here aren't pretentious at all. I ordered an Old Fashioned and it was tasty and well balanced. Little sweet, little bitter just how it should be. Let the whiskey shine! Glad to see this space back in action. A truly gorgeous bar that any bar rat should check out. Perfect for a quick cocktail!

Bedlam made Westword's Top 100 List under New and Noteworthy, and it is well-deserved. This narrow, well-decorated space reminds me of many NYC bars/restaurants. Service was fast and friendly. There are fun, upscale bites (Lays and caviar, who would have thought?) with excellent cocktails. I tried the La Bandita which went down a little too easily which to me, shows the expertise in the blend of ingredients (tequila, lime, Amari, and orange blossom water). A nice place to have a conversation with a friend and to just look at all the eclectic yet well-curated decor on the walls and around the area. A carved wooden sign hanging from wrought iron leads you to this lovely bar on Wazee Street.

    Beautiful aesthetic

Amazing bar, Shawn is an absolute sweetheart and Moss as well. It was my best friends birthday and they both went out of their way to serve us and make the night special. Thank you guys!!

Visited this spot for our third drink of the night. The drinks sounded delicious, but my heart was asking for an espresso martini. The bartender was gracious enough to make a delicious one for me. Loved the energy and vibe of this spot.

We didn't take advantage of the patio vibes or rooftop deck with a fire pit, but this is still on our list! While waiting for a table, we cozied up to the bar and ordered drinks. One of the bartenders noticed I ordered the hibiscus margarita and asked me, offhandedly, if I was a fan of spice. Yes, please. With that, he cancelled my order and made me something "not on the menu" but what I called the "Patrick special." So good. Thanks, sir! We ordered burgers and shared their buffalo cauliflower starter. This, my friend, was absolutely amazing. Loved the buffalo spice paired with the bleu cheese. Easy way to enjoy some veggies. And along the same theme, I ordered the Buff and Bleu burger. This was so good, so flavorful and so messy. Don't judge me, but I resorted to using my fork, lol! It was so well balanced. Great location, relaxed vibes, especially on a Sunday evening. The beer was solid, but the food stole the show (mostly across the board). Most of our group was happy with their dishes. I had the steak sandwich with a side salad, and the sandwich was top tier. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich, and this one absolutely hit the spot. It was also pretty large, which made it more of a fork-and-knife situation than a handheld one, but no complaints there. A few people in our party upgraded their sides to the sweet potato fries, which were next level. Perfect balance of crispiness with a hint of sweetness that made them stand out. One miss in the group was the mac and cheese; my sister ordered it and wasn't a fan, felt it was too liquidy/runny and underwhelming compared to everything else we tried. Only minor knock overall was that the kitchen was pretty slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy late on a Sunday evening. Not a dealbreaker, but something worth noting if you're in a hurry. Overall, great first Denver meal; good beer, mostly good food, and a relaxed spot that made for a solid welcome to the city.
