I've been to this bar a few times and wasn't wildly impressed. Cool local neighborhood bar, evidently popular for first dates. I'd say it's a good "later in the night" stop if you're bar hopping. I had a Spicy Paloma on one visit and I'm sure a few others. Both drinks and service were okay, in my experience. My friends and I came here because we were waiting for a dinner reservation nearby. I would try again if a friend really wanted to come here! read more

Haven't tried the food just yet but the drinks were great. Stopped by for an after work cooldown and they were playing some Britney Spears and other early 2000s song which was fun. The decor consists of lots of crosses, religious iconography and awesome red lanterns (not sure if they're always red). The mix of this with the music put a smile on my face. The service was helpful and the vibes were good. I would check this place out more but it's a bit tight and tends to get a bit crowded for my taste - otherwise solid hang out spot. read more

Very unique bar with a fun ambiance. There's so much to look at when you're enjoying a delicious cocktail at Thin Man. Fun and interesting decor all throughout the perfectly dim lit bar. Bartenders are kind, attentive, and make very good cocktails. Did you know an espresso martini with THREE coffee beans is good luck? Yes, me neither. I love stopping in here in the afternoon with friends after walking around Denver botanic gardens, only a couple streets away. read more

Everybody's welcome at The Thin Man where you'll see as many locals as first timers. It's a relatively small space, and it's one of those spots you'll see a mix of ages and a lot of hipsters. The paninis are a welcomed addition to your night if you get snacky, the drinks are standard, and the bartenders are either really sweet or really sour; it's all part of it. read more

Oh, yeah! A local spot that was open beyond 10pm! HOORAY!!!! Our bartender was a wonderful lady that was busy, yet didn't miss a beat. There was great beer, local beer, options to enjoy. A bar where Jesus is watching you. I am seriously not mad about it. My husband and I stopped in for a few drinks to start our evening. Our bartender was nice and knowledgeable. This place charges you a $60 fee to start a tab. It's cool in the inside and has great drinks but when I called about getting the $60 refunded they were really rude to me. It has almost been a week and I'm still out $60 when I only spent $24 on a few martinis.. I guess just don't start a tab and close o ur after every drink. read more

Do Not Visit! This place is awful! Visited this spot for the 2nd time to give it a chance... Bartender was outside smoking and therefore not available for 20 minutes and when he returned was super rude and disinterested. They didn't have multiple basic ingredients including limes (yes, I'm serious) and they're drinks are plain and overpriced. Will never be back and encourage everyone to not give them business read more

Really cool little dive bar. Lots of religious memorabilia, some of it funny but all of it interesting. They make a mean dirty martini with a special jalapeño infused vodka. Spicy but delicious! I would go back just for the five, but the drinks were on point, so I'll be back for sure. read more

Glad to see Thin Man up and running during this covid time. For a weeknight there was a good amount of people sitting socially distanced on both the front and back patios. The owner has installed ceiling fans to help with ventilation and hung window panes over the bar to help keep distance from the bartenders. We thought the windows were an awesome and creative solution. Also 3 nativity scene figures were seated on bar seats to help indicate where not to be. They were both comical and practical! I thought the bar was really clean, friendly staff, and just a great place to get a drink and chit chat. read more

Our mixed crowd of couples and single friends lit up when we saw the array of mixed drinks in cantinas behind the bar. Strangers became friends quickly. Awesome local spot in City Park West neighborhood. Visiting Denver for a few months and our AirBnb is a block away so this has been a go to spot for happy hour drinks and even a night out on the weekend! Great indoor area with bar stools and some tables in addition to outdoor space in front and out back. Drinks are reasonably priced. Crowd definitely picks up on the weekend nights. read more

Ever since my move to Denver some years ago, this place was my go to for Friday happy hours and Saturdays with friends! It's a simple bar that's not pretentious and trying to be "new" Denver. I am not sorry to post this. I am rather enraged. I like the Thin Man a lot. But you post an effing sign outside of your bar, characterizing hardworking young people as animals, and telling your patrons to not "Feed the Canvassers", you can kiss my ass. Canvassing keeps progressive organizations' doors open. Obviously, this business owner does not value the contribution his progressive patrons make to his existence as a business. As someone who works at a nonprofit, he obviously does not value my work, my issue, or giving young people jobs to get them through this terrifically devastating economic apocalypse, which has been uniquely horrifying for young graduates. I will not be giving this entire block (because he owns the whole block) a single dollar for the rest of my residency in Denver. I'm also an event planner, and will not be having my organization host events at his spaces. We had a suffragette bicycle pub crawl coming up, and had considered the Thin Man as a destination. That will no longer be something we consider. This is what the obscene sign says: "DON'T FEED THE CANVASSERS PLEASE DEAR CUSTOMERS... You may have noticed the new flock of canvassers that have begun to nest on the sidewalk in front of St. Mark's. DO NOT FEED THEM... Please do not speak to them, or engage them in any way. Their canvassing efforts are a kind of quasi-legal harassment... If we all ignore them, maybe they will move back to King Soopers where they belong. - Eric" read more

Came in here as things started opening up in Denver (July 25, 2020) - had a group of friends interested in meeting up all excited to patronize this once great business. However, upon entrance, from the second we walked into the bar the owner/manager (not sure, he just looked like Andre from 'The League') came at everyone so aggressively - like hotter than hell aggressively - about people literally being in a group at the entrance of the establishment. Which, to the best of my knowledge, is still the only way people are able to enter a business. Not sure what we did wrong other than walk in, but there was no potential solution offered on the person in charge's behalf. No "hey thanks for coming in please sit here" - no "hey let me get y'all to go drinks thanks for keeping our business afloat" - nothing. So, as a result, this place lost at least 4 customers forever, and based on the shocked and horrified reaction of the group this evil man so atrociously attacked, probably more than that. I'd recommend anyone in the area think twice about visiting this place when in the area. Especially given the great surrounding establishments. God bless. Everyone. And America. No, don't go here. If you're lucky to catch the attention of any bartender a half hour after walking in, The one bartender will touch you and fondle your significant other. The other one, tall, older white bald, is simply put a detestable, vapid jerk. Just saw him chew some guy out and KICK HIM OUT OF THE BAR, because he asked for a GLASS OF WATER. It was after last call, so he couldn't have ordered anything else. He had been sitting alone, waiting on someone that never got there. This bland excuse for a human being of a bartender made sure to tell him that he couldn't come into his bar, occupy a chair, stare at customers, and order water. Then he told him he was not going to serve him water, and asked him to leave his bar. I will not support a bar that denies water to folk. It's shameful. read more

WTF happened to this bar? Was once a unique Denver classic. Is now a gratuitous sell-out to odd sexuality political signaling and apparently, hip-hop. LOL. The neon lighting is also a big generic-nightclub move. Once had the coolest decor in all of Denver: pictures of the Virgin Mary everywhere (Madonnas) and perhaps a bunch of Jesus too (was a hit for a long time... those who understood why that was cool went there and understood why it made the ambiance). Decent enough drinks but signs that read "six feet still matters" comes across as tone deaf. Black lives matter is a political statement and when saying something "matters" in 2021 this should be considered. We noticed that there is a handwritten list of victims of police brutality and Black lives matter signage, so we can see that there is the intent to be aware, but in tandem with the "six feet" signage the intention gets lost. read more

Fantastic place I met my husband their off match.com. We frequent it often great place. We had so much fun on first date their skipped our dinner reservation at fancy restaurant. Good beers here really make you feel so good. Hang with friends, and we had fun. Great patio area and a good crowd. ... A cozy and calm and collected bar, generally quite, well-adjusted and friendly staff. The beer selection is unique and varied, but vodka was absolute! Cozy, quiet, and definitely has some interesting decor. (Seriously, where did they find a vintage vacuum?!) Only went once, but I was pretty pleased with the servers and the bar overall. Definitely one of those hidden gem bars you hope never becomes exceptionally popular. read more

Enjoyed this place. It's in with the local talented musicians, and owner Eric may jam on the trombone at the end of the night. They have an interesting selection of beer. The crowd is pretty interesting and cool too. Wish it was bigger. There's a nice cafe next door too. read more

One of my friends asked our bartender for a suggestion and she really enjoyed her drink. However, my other friend got a suggested drink and did not like it at all. The bartender was kind enough to swap out his drink, which our group definitely appreciated. I'm definitely coming back and bringing any of my visitors who can appreciate a good cocktail.
