Wow, this place is a party! We dropped by after the Saint Patty's Day parade and were blown away by this bluegrass party band on the rooftop! Every time my boyfriend and I come here we get ignored... when we do wait for someone to help us they get our order wrong. We live in the neighborhood and wanna like this place. We want to be regulars but every single time is a bad experience. I don't know if it's cus we are an interracial couple or what the issue is but we never left a review until today. When we came in, the bartender downstairs helped us and was nice but once we went upstairs to the rooftop patio, we were ignored. HOWEVER, last night my friends and I experienced something just short of assault at the hands of the American Bonded staff (the bondees, if you will.) 3.5 stars. I came here with a friend before attending a dance showcase nearby. Even on snowy days, parking is CRAZY in the evenings, especially on weekends. We had difficulty finding parking... you really just have to get lucky. If you're just having drinks at American Bonded, order at the bar, where you'll hopefully find seats! On our visit, I got a delicious margarita, which I would order again. The bartender was friendly and approachable, as is everyone I've met since moving to Denver. The food on the menu looked tasty, but we were only stopping for a drink in the half hour we had to spare. Love their happy hour specials and themed cocktails. Very creative. My 3.5 rating is with the caveat that I'd come here again and probably give it 4 stars. There wasn't enough time to truly enjoy the atmosphere and have another drink. Yeah so we were waiting in line to use the restroom, and a staff member yelled at our friend when we trying to find out why the line was broken up. She was guessing where the line ended, and he said "yeah I know I work here b*tch!" which seems like an overreaction. Also there was vomit ALL OVER the women's bathroom. Very cool bar. They have happy hour from Monday to Friday from 4 - 7 which is longer than most bars in the area. The deals here are pretty good also, with $7 wines, $6 old fashioneds, $5 wells and drafts. We stuck with the old fashioneds, and they were quite delicious. Pretty strong as well. The servers here are pretty attentive and friendly. They were on top of us when we our drinks were empty and they provided waters as soon as we sat down. I like that hospitality. We also were able to try the chips / salsa / guac. They were pretty good, but definitely nothing to write home about. Overall, definitely a good place to start your night. We each ordered a sandwich from open as well. Notable favorites include: vernal equinox to drink and Osaka sandwich to eat. Refreshing and flavorful drink. The patio quickly filled to capacity and was a bit understaffed which resulted in slow service, but the server was great, but a few servers on duty would have made things a bit more enjoyable. Stopped in here with a couple friends for a drink and a quick bite. Honestly, this would have been a 4 star review had it not been for the disappointing appetizer. Each of our drinks were delicious and one friend said the old-fashioned here is his favorite. I went for the spiced apple mule, always a sucker for seasonal option and it was definitely refreshing. The issue we had was when our chips & salsa arrived, it must have come with a tablespoon of green & red salsa. We paid $3 more for the same amount of guacamole. Now, I understand this is not a Mexican restaurant and I wouldn't say my expectations were high for plate of chips salsa, but our whole table remarked at how small the portion was. Place is very laid back, inside was cozy and they also have a sizeable rooftop dining & drinking area. We had a drink and shared a couple of tapas on their roof deck. The taco plate was great (3 tacos) with the barbacoa being my favorite. The taco plate is also served with rice & beans although you can just get single tacos a la carte. I haven't been to American Branded but this is actually a review for OPEN, which is their kitchen option (hard to find it in Yelp; the search just kept thinking I wanted to find open restaurants). But on to OPEN and it's sandwiches.... Fantastic. We were on the go today so we ordered this for pick up. My friend and I split the Lee and the Osaka and both were absolutely delicious. The Osaka has a great balance of flavors (savory, crispy dark meat and tangy slaw and sour pickles). The Lee short rib meat was juicy and the jus had a kick! Both breads were fresh and had great texture (not soggy, not too crusty). We got salt chips with that were clearly made in house and not too oily or overpowering. On top of that, some of the proceeds of each meal go to charity (Project Angel Heart). So appreciate that effort and intention from them. Love their ambiance! I've been here twice for work meetings right when they open. Our office is down the road so I can see this becoming our go to place. Each time I've visited thus far, it's been a great spot to grab a drink, catch up, and still be able to hear what the other person is saying! Happy hour is pretty decent with wines, Wells, and a few beers on sale. The service was a little slow, which was disappointing. However the cocktails alone made up for it. What a great new bar! We waited a bit to try it, expecting the usual new-place crowds. We ventured in on a Sunday night and sat at the bar. I assumed the crowds would be on the rooftop. But it was a pretty quiet night, so we were able to chat with our excellent bartender. He made great cocktails. The place is pretty big and looks great. It's pretty open--I think they were planning on a different crowd than at other cozy craft cocktail spots in the area. And they'd be right--this neighborhood is changing, and there's more of a go-to-a-bar-to-drink-up-and-be-seen crowd rather than folks looking to sip a fine cocktail. Luckily this place can satisfy both. I don't live close enough to walk here anymore. But the cocktails at American Bonded are worth a drive (or bus ride or cab). If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Came to watch the Avs game and was met with the most rude waitstaff I've ever encountered. The cook was working the kitchen of the restaurant as well as the hot dog stand out front. We had walked across the street to grab a pizza and brought it back over where the cook berated us, making very aggressive comments about the pizza being brought in, instead of explaining that they don't allow outside food. He continued to walk by and make comments to us, even after the pizza was put away, Going as so far to tell the waitstaff not to serve us drinks anymore.
