Milk Bar... it's a 3.5 star rating, I suppose. Ok, will round up. The best thing about it is they don't hassle you as bad at the door. They have multiple rooms to explore. The music is good, mostly. But you may need to hop around as it can change so much. So, wander around, you might get lost, but you'll find you way again! (or just ask! ha) Not as great, the drinks are SO weak. It's a little ridic. If I'm paying $15 or whatever for one shot and soda, please let me taste the alcohol? Like, come on! I can buy a bottle for that. Just let me taste it. Bartenders can be hit or miss. I've had some totally cool ones and some really strange ones that seem to have personality issues. Not as much lately, though, just overall in the times I've come here over a few years. Maybe the current bar manager (who introduces themselves as such when you walk in) has got it whipped more into shape. Can you just tell them to include booze in drinks?! The edge is gone folks, but more so, the heart, the soul, and the authenticity of a real underground scene. Now the life of the party is lost like a chicken McNugget dropped in the ball pit of a McDonald's play place. What's left is a random collection of half-baked ideas by management with no understanding of a music scene whose ever-changing themes seem copied from the websites of clubs in Europe, or maybe, Alabama, who knows? Go upstairs and things are worse with a Janky wanna-be suburban gangsta DJ playing pre-recorded mixes from songs that were obviously ripped from YouTube, and shooting monopoly money from toy guns like an anamatronic rat at Chick E. Cheezy's. Anything that was truly edgy and cool has now been thrown out and replaced by pure neglect, promos slapped together by some AI they didn't even bother buying a subscription to--you know, the basic version which is completely on brand--reduced to a desperate cash grab. This is apparent as soon as you step over puddles of urine and walk in the door, and through the fake metal detector (and oh yeah, then over sand bags and puddles from sewer pipes that overflow because the owner is too cheap to invest in repairs or ensure customer safety), finally into a building that is in disrepair. Yeah, it's a vibe from a backwater dancehall in Khazakhstan but unintentionally, not so much as a place of entertainment. Almost everything, and I mean everything in the venue is old, outdated, or broken, from the ATM (you'd be crazy to trust that anyway) and arcade games, to the club rooms with broken, non-working club lights, and again pipes that drip and leak (you'll literally see buckets on the middle of the dance floor, and garbage bags draped over the DJ booths and the bar--and no, they don't sanitize after these accidents, evveeeer. The place is in disrepair and what used to be rooms with cool decor are now just generic and dirty looking as basic cleanliness is non-existent--the whole venue reeks the moment you walk in. Most worrisome is the lack of security (good luck finding anyone if you need help after you get past the door person) making the disorganized chaos feel unsafe and gross and anything but exciting. While Milk was once a cool and celebrated part of the Denver club scene up until a few years before the pandemic, the owner has obviously lost touch with reality and has no sense of loyalty to a clientele and commujity who made his clubs successful. But this has been a long time coming as Milk has been on the slow and steady decline for years. Over the last year the place has spiraled into a complete free fall with the last regular DJs pushed out and replaced by amateurs like the dude who needs a platform to stand on whose sets sound like a complication of greatest hits CDs played on random, with no theme or identity. The events and nights seem thrown together at the last minute, like you know splattered against the wall to see what will stick, but it's stinking instead. Its consistency, its soul, its relevance is gone. Most damning and reflective is the point several other reviewers have made about the vibe of sexism that exudes like the toxic masculinity that produces it from those who run this place as it's almost all male managers, DJs and bartenders, with a few women in the lowest, menial positions. And that obvious bias and grossness speaks volumes! My humble advice: save your night, your money, your self-respect and conscience choosing instead to support venues and spaces that actually know something about loyalty and principles other than greed and pettiness, which actually cares about and respects its patrons and customers. read more

Milk Bar won't be winning any "Best of" categories in Denver after the last few months. It took a few visits to realize that Milk Bar also doesn't know what is happening. The ads are inaccurate, misspelled and with wrong info. A few of the best resident DJs are gone or no longer have consistent nights. There's enough space for variation and everyone, it doesn't make sense. Milk Bar owner needs to invest in fixing clogged floor drains, leaks and puddles inside, and whatever the nasty sticky stuff is. read more

I've spent a lot of time at Milk over the years, and what's hardest to watch is how far it has drifted from the community that made it matter in the first place. The people who built these nights, brought in loyal crowds, created the atmosphere, and kept people coming back deserved respect. Instead, too many of them have been treated like they were disposable. A venue can change its programming, its look, its direction, whatever. But when you stop valuing the DJs and community members who helped create your identity, you lose something much harder to replace than a theme night. What makes the current direction even harder to support is seeing more space and influence handed to people whose public behavior feels completely at odds with the community I want to be part of. I've seen social media content from one of the DJs that I found deeply misogynistic and disturbing, including jokes about violence and control in a relationship. Watching longtime, respected people get pushed aside while that kind of behavior is elevated says a lot about the priorities of current management. Milk used to feel like a real home for parts of Denver's alternative scene. Lately it feels like management is far more interested in controlling the space than understanding the people who actually gave it life. You can replace names on a DJ schedule. You cannot replace years of trust, loyalty, and community like they never mattered. I'll support the DJs, artists, and community members who made those nights special wherever they land next. They're the reason I kept showing up in the first place. read more

Ok, First, I found this place hard to find. The front entrance was closed and had no sign or anything. It was by pure luck that I found the entrance off of a back alley. It was Thursday night and they we charging a $10 cover. When I got in there, there were only 10 people in there, and that included the employees. The staff there were friendly and the music they were playing was nice. This place gives off an old dungeon vibe. It could probably use some updating. There is metered street parking available in the front and a parking lot available in the back, where the entrance was when I visited. I do like the club's set up. It has a couple of rooms. There is like a lounge area, a video game room, and a couple of bar areas with dance floors. They have different music playing in the rooms. The video game room has a bar and classic coin operated video games, like Spy Hunter, Ms Pacman, and Off Road. They mostly take quarters and they have a change machine available. The drinks here are reasonably priced and were decent pours. I only stayed here about 30 minutes. I was really bored and decided to just call it a night and go to bed early. I would probably come back here, but It would not be on a Thursday night and I would do some homework on the place before I came here. read more

Went to Milk on a Halloween weekend and had a lot of fun. The cover was $35 which is kind of a lot but it is what it is. I really enjoyed how spacious it was and they had multiple rooms with different types of music so if you wanted to go to another room and enjoy a different type of music , you have options. It's a very fun vibe and everyone there was having a good time. They had an out door area also that was a nice respite to get out of the crowd. The staff were also friendly so that helped a lot! Lots of bathrooms so I didn't have to wait in some long ass line. read more

I loved going to this club great experience on Saturdays especially when you're just visiting, Saturday definitely gives you the best experience with Karaoke, arcade multiple different rooms with different vibes although me and my friend went there on a Sunday they only had one room open and the bartender sucked charging 20$ per drink with not even a shot of alcohol when previously going the night before the drinks were 6-10$ and I got drunk after two drinks on Saturday, on Sunday I drank up to 10 drinks didn't even get tipsy. I was really excited to go out with my girls on Saturday night. We went to the Milk bar as a friend of my husband's recommended, but unfortunately, our experience wasn't great. The tall male bartender working that night was very rude and never got our drinks, after we ordered and seems more interested in "clients" On the positive side, the young lady working there recognized and was amazing. Coming to milk bar on a Saturday night was the most fun I've had in awhile! I absolutely loved the different genre rooms. The overall vibe was great too, everyone was just having fun and it wasn't an intimidating space to dance in at all. Many different rooms to explore and the themes are always great. Goth night, 80s night, and a few others. The service here is great too. Bartenders are always nice and friendly. When friends ask if I want to go out, what they really mean is, "Let's go to Milk!" I feel like this is one of the top go-to places in Denver (next to Tracks) for a variety of dance music and aesthetic themes. I didn't know what to expect when coming here, but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to get lost and separated from friends across the different dance rooms. Aside from drunk people getting sloppy and spilling drinks on others, I had a great time exploring the art for sale downstairs and enjoying quick drinks at the many bars. They're very well-organized here, clearly equipped to handle giant crowds every night they're open. Milk bar was a great vibe, don't get me wrong. I am a bartender myself and I will always tip 20% unless someone is blatantly rude, but even just standard I will always add gratuity. It really rubs me wrong when a bartender tips themselves without letting people know, especially in a high energy bar where people are usually drunk and unaware. I got the receipt to see Kat tipped herself at 22% without us signing on it. Super lame, 3 out of the 4 of us there last night are bartenders and we would have tipped her, she was nice and we chatted for a second since it was slow, but I find this so unprofessional. I'm a big fan of 5 stars when they deserve it and in this case Milk Bar is well deserving of 5 stars. It's just my type of scene. They have something for everyone with endless rooms with different music, DJ's and setups in each one. You can get lost in there, seriously, and I love it. A Music Maze from my dreams. I don't drink so it's hard to say if the liquor prices were agreeable so my starts are based off atmosphere and vibe. You'll have to pay a cover... drag :( but as is the case with most Denver bars if the place is anything worthwhile. I highly recommend checking it out! I never had a bad time there. read more

Super upset with our experience here. We had a great time dancing and hanging out, but before we went in a security guard said no carts/weed pens allowed inside. No worries, we said we would just run it back to the car. The guard then pulled out a locker and promised the cart would stay safe and not be touched. After some convincing, we agreed it was easier than going back to the car. As we were leaving we asked the guard for the cart back and the guard claimed his manager came by and took all of the carts that were in the locker. He had guaranteed nothing would happen to it, and I also do not believe his manager came by and collected them all, it even if that's the case I feel it is illegal to guarantee our things would stay safe and then take it without our permission. He stole our stuff and refused to give it back. Very upset and will never return here. read more

There are paid parking lots available. The rooms, one might describe "Clockwork Orange"-inspired Milk Bar & the retro Jazz Room. Calling all misfits, outcasts, goths and anyone who's anyone. For those who describe themselves as dancing with "two left feet," or the introverted! This isn't your typical dance floor. Goth night Wednesdays has a no cover charge, which is where it's at! Milk Bar has a levels of floors, but some of them are blocked off, due to Covid-19, however they have a accessible smoking outside patio area. You can meet lots of people outside there. The Green Room has "POP-Sycle" with 80's Pop/Fun/Dance. Their Dark Room plays Throwback with 90's Hip Hop LGBTQ night with their DJ Mear. My favorite is the official MILK ROOM!! They play spinning Indie/Dance/Alternatives with really cool Dj's. The crowd is a much more mature audience with people ranging from late 20's and up. The arcade room has a photobooth and plenty of 90's games such as Pacman and Mario. Each room has a unique bar with friendly bartenders!! Usually, I don't feel that I need to explain that I'm a gay man in a review. I have visited this establishment since I first moved to Denver in 2018. It used to be an escape for me on the weekend. I adored this place. Tonight, however, I met some lovely new female friends from Australia who were visiting the club for the first time. I am absolutely gutted by my experience tonight. One of my new friends was on the verge of being too intoxicated to be out for the evening. I was trying to help her find her friends. When we were near the front of the club, I told her I was going to get her an Uber to get home, I WAS KICKED OUT OF THE CLUB. Literally, a member of security escorted me out. And when I attempted to find her from another entrance (because friends take good care of each other), they told me that management wouldn't allow me to enter. She was obviously, visibly, too drunk to be in the club. I'm still worried about her safety. If you don't care about your own physical and personal safety, come to this club.
