Yeah, I thought your mom's house was actually pretty good. It was not that crowded on the night. We went to see some bands that we really like. The sound was great, and we had very good sight lines. The drinks were not unreasonably priced, and the bartenders were really good. The same cannot be said for Pearl Divers next-door (where the bathrooms are). Those bartenders put an unauthorized tip (while we were still there and before we had closed out the) on my girlfriend's credit card that was more than the amount of entire bill. This is currently under dispute with the credit card company, but it does not speak well for their honesty, integrity, or customer service at Pearl Divers. read more

Your Mom's House operates on very shady practices. If you need to increase prices due to inflation, be transparent about it in the prices presented. We were surprised with a "Fair Wage and Inflation Fee (this is not a tip) (20%)" line in our receipts, which let's be real, most of that or at least part of it is very likely going to the owner(s) not the staff. On top of that, I know quite a few musicians in Denver and almost every one that has worked with Your Mom's House has told me that they had issues with getting paid. Overall, it is a fun space but I can't support a business that operates this way. read more

Came here for a special event. I think the place has an awesome name! Love it. The place is small and parking is hard to find. Only street parking. No food here when we came for event from 9 pm to 2 am. We were let into the venue about 9:20 pm. The place is small but great for a small private concert. They have a stage and two bar areas. Only one bar was open on the side where the stage was. The other side of the place has a few tables with stools. The bathrooms are on this side too. Finally concert started and the lighting created a cute and cool little miniature concert feel. My gf and I had a blast here dancing. The concert was awesome and pretty full. We only were there partying it up til 12:30 am and then we old ladies had to go home. At over 40, we just couldn't stay up anymore! Lol. It was an awesome night. read more

Holy hell was this fun! Didn't even expect it. Thought we were meeting a friend at a sports bar and ended up being a wicked fun (spacious) EDM club. Be mindful there's a cover charge ($50) but we got in free because we knew the right people lol. Danced my ass off for like 4 straight hours. They have water at the ready in coolers for everyone. This is the only venue that has supported my career since I started, giving me an opportunity to showcase and elevate the music scene here. The staff is amazing and extremely helpful and professional. Adam and Dominique are amazing at what they do. Security and the bartenders are dope, and Jesse is the man who gets me set up every time. I really appreciate the staff, the venue is always well put together and gives that clean, local bar scene, but really gives that dope atmosphere for a show. I love these guys and what they do and I recommend anyone in town to catch a show/event at this place just for the venue alone. One of the best in Denver easily and it's not close if you're trying to catch local talent. I will continue to support this venue forever, as they have kept my dream alive and didn't shoo me away as the other Denver venues did when it comes to doing a show as a lesser known local artist. Completely unprofessional, unorganized, rude and down right petty-- I will not work with James Bedwell III again. Your Mom's House I would highly reconsidered your relationship with James as your "promoter" because the way he carries himself he is immature, unprofessional and does not due what a promoter should. I went through the process of having to find "suitable" bands for the show by emailing 25 plus bands to fill in the slots. Multiple bands that were slotted for the show quit after having a conversation with James--quoting "we can't work with that dude". So not only did I find bands for the show, I had to find their replacements because James was unprofessional and unbearable to work with. As you can expect emailing 25 plus bands is a lot of work--work that James should have been doing. When James and I first talked it was made clear the band could set ticket prices and overall set list--both of which James changed without our consent--stating "that's not how we do things. Logic would dictate that charging people $20 for a show on Thursday for an out of town town band that was required to play till 2am-with no time to promote, would mean that we'd be playing to an empty bar. Furthermore when we were upset because after confirming the date and wanting to promote as soon as possible--James was unable to provide us with an event or poster; so we made our own poster and event to properly promoter a show. We were closing in on under 3 weeks to the show and he still hadn't provided us event link or poster. Somehow his inability to provide us a event or poster was now our fault--which he quickly offered a solution of us making a poster that he could approve--which made no sense cause he already stated we couldn't be providing. Somehow through all of this he acted like the victim and was unable to keep simple information provided for bands in order. Now he's cancelled the show--which is fine cause why would we want to do business with him at this point. But it's time we put in and people like James (unethical promoter) taking advantage of Bands. This is a bad look for your venue to have such a shady person setting up events, I'd highly reconsidered your professional relationship. A promoter should be the type of person who can organize events and get bands for the event. Throughout the 40 plus emails I had with James and spending all the time looking for bands for the bill, he showed complete disscontempt for doing what his job is supposed to be--Getting bands putting on shows and organizing. All of his job should've been easy cause we did it for him. I wouldn't be typing this long post if it wasn't for how immature and unprofessional James has been--I've played shows from LA to Austin and Seattle to Minnesota; I've never met such a douchebag of promoter--and we've had promoters leave with our cut for the night. I'm willing to risk my reputation so that shady douchebag "promoters" like him can't continue to operate because a band is too afraid to speak up. read more

On name alone, I was intrigued. Just like your mom's house, Your Mom's House is awesome! Small music venues/ bars can be a mess, but I am thrilled about Your Mom's House. The bar area in main bar is open, lighted well, SMELLS GOOD, and has a great bar with great staff. Tons of beer selections at good prices. The music room is fantastic! Great lights and open space and a great sound in the room! A bar in back for busy nights and easily accessible bathrooms. I hope they continue to book great local music here. They kept telling me I didn't have a tab with them and then asking my name again. One of the bar tenders was the very disorganized person who told me that we'd be playing at 9pm. Instead he scheduled us for 12:15. We decided to leave instead of wait. I had waited for 3-5 minutes while the bar tenders ignored us, looked at the computer, took shots, etc. Female bar tender came to help me, asked my name, round my tab, showed me my receipt, I tipped 10 on 52 and left. One guy commented on how I needed to update my fashion. Another was implying I wasn't welcome there. I was embarrassed and wish I would have Just left an open tab avoiding the interaction. Not sure if I'll ever go back. Sad cause it seems like there were a lot of cool people there. read more

You would think this place would be awesome, and in some ways it is. However, it kind of sucks too. The sound quality can either be great or absolutely terrible and too loud. The bartenders typically take a while to get to you even if barely anybody there. Half of the time when i come here, it's either dead and nobody there or way too packed. They barely have any music shows that I would pay money to go see. One positive of this venue is the art inside and also that they support local DJs and musicians. Also, be prepared to parked 2 miles away and walk to the door as there is no parking except for street parking and it's usually taken. read more

This place has been a lot of things over the years, mainly oddly named bar/music venues. It's not the grand old Quixote's or monkey barrel or insert closed down beloved small music venue, but they have a pretty diverse regional and local lineup weekly and the beer selection is surprisingly deep for a spot like this. Biggest downside is the single use bathrooms that backup quickly and the temperature in this place, if it's a well attended show, it's gonna be hot and worse in the main room bar. Never gonna dog a small music venue too much, but there are some small and easy changes they could make to bring it up a few notches read more

But we managed to check out a awesome book store just around the corner. The street that it's on is busy and parking is a little tight but they do have a few cool stores. Fun cozy venue to catch a music act. We went for a friend's band and there were artists making pieces on the side in the concert hall section, which was a nice side show to have at the same time. The back bar was easy to get to and the bartenders were friendly. Help yourself Water pitcher off to the side was also just another touch that made this a relaxed time. read more

As a result of a series of mistakes, that began decades before, I went to a concert at "Your Mom's House" recently. I felt as though I may have been the first homeowner and mother to actually grace the premises, a place festooned with a borrowed stoner motifs that predate Birkenstocks. Yes, it was my son's 'performance' on April the Twentieth that brought me there. The crowd was a sparse mix of failsons and their 'complicated status' hangers-on, all of us sharing some agreement in a social contract that would be tested by the end of the evening. The crowd could be counted on one hand. My son was now performing in public despite only a few weeks of youtube lessons of acoustic guitar. After only a few measures of this the audience realizes the folk atmosphere is just a trap and we are about to be subjected to a deep bass breakdown. And indeed the trajectory was changed and here came 'the drop' in the dub step style. This unholy matrimony is what my son has devised as his schtick and after revealing this gross concoction in the first minute or two of the performance, we are condemned to repeat this journey over and over again for the rest of the even. Take into consideration that a performance like this really tests the boundaries of a small music venue. The sound person on duty mapped the tones of a live acoustic guitar masterfully and to also accommodated seemingly unrelated spectrums of deeb bass wonkery into a cohesive sound quite dutifully. A formidable lightship was also nearly able to distract me from deep pangs of embarrassment. Should such effort be expended for those putting in less effort in their craft? Its a question the devoted staff at this venue never think to ask. A great venue for local music. read more

TERRIBLE I went to the bar to grab a drink and the bartender looked at it for a while and said she couldn't serve me because she thought it was fake. I am 26 years old and look a little young but I told her it was real (which it most certainly is) and even showed her and the manager in charge multiple other forms of identification with my birthday on it. The doorman has already checked my ID and let me in and they shined the blacklight thing on it to show if it is real. She still refused to serve me even after being proven wrong. I really didn't appreciate the way they went about it and she never gave me a reason for why she thought it was fake. What's the point of having a legit ID? Crap venue that should be boycotted. This venue does have a lot of potential and has a good location in Denver. However, it really really sucks. There is almost nothing good happening musically. Everything is some local band that I have never heard of. Most of the concerts I have seen here have honestly sucked. The bartenders will also hassle and refuse you drinks if you happen to get a free drink card because you're with one of the bands that's playing that night. They also don't hang up people's art when it's been sitting in a dirty basement for a month and were promised it would go up ASAP. This place could really grow and flourish with different ownership. The people that run this place are also pretty rude most of the time, like someone shit in their morning cornflakes or something. They also suffer from favoritism (aka booking bands and artists they like but then saying no flat out to others even though they properly reached out to the venue) On top of that, it's usually pretty empty in here unless it's a really popular show. The sound is also WAY too loud most of the time. Like hearing damage levels of loud. Overall, this place is really just another crappy venue and should be avoided at all costs. A nice, divey atmosphere and cool staff. It was cool that Spotify was open for anyone to pick the tunes, or at least it seemed that way. We had fun with it, but people kept changing our songs. Also I was really getting into reading the CC on Cool Runnings before someone changed the channel, so instead I had to socialize. I would have liked to see the Jamaicans sled to victory with John Candy. But, like I said, we had fun picking tunes. Also there's a comfy C shaped booth that offers a nice view of the bar so you can see and judge the other patrons, or just watch the TVs behind the bar. Like the first half of Cool Runnings. But if not, you can fiddle with the Spotify playlist, but if you play 2000s club bangers, someone will come and change it. read more

This is the worst venue I've ever played in Denver. That's rough because I've played at almost every bar, every diy venue and most of the normal punk bars in town. That's Hi-dive, 3 kings, Hq, star bar, bar bar you know it just continues cuz who's even counting its just to play shows. We've done festivals and small townships have asked us to dial it back. No issue, whatever you need we got you! This venue however?! Wow what utter garbage, I was cut off immediately after playing onstage. They said I tripped and was obviously intoxicated. After setting up all of the equipment which every band used before and after we played the bar tender closed me out and cut me off after they witnessed me tripping over an area of the side stage that was for almost no reason 4"above the average height of the floor. It all was extremely surprising to me that I was being cut off. It was equally surprising to the people I had brought out for the show but then to add onto the issues the staff accosted me about my attitude and how I should just leave the venue. The main issue with that was the last bands were using my equipment and I couldn't leave as the staff had advised me to and I couldn't stay and continue to have alcohol at a bar and venue that really read more

Multiple emails, calls, and messages through their social media pages and no response. Also, they dont list age restrictions on some shows until the day of, so they're basically partaking in false advertisement for most of their events. Then proceed to ignore your inquiries. A friend of mine and I were having drinks on a Tuesday night rolling into Wednesday morning. I closed out my tab of $76.00 and left an $8.00 tip totaling $84.00. Sure it was a low tip but the service was subpar in the beginning and I still tipped $8.00 for her services so that's besides the point. Upon my weekly recap of my bank statement I noticed that I was charged $94.00. That's an extra $10 added to my tab which I did not do and this was by no mistake at all-trust me, by profession I don't make mistakes. My writing was clear. This was outright fraud and unfortunately for the bartender I'm an accountant so I watch my numbers diligently. Everything is DIGITAL these days and I'm just surprised this person would try to pull a fast one on an unsuspecting customer... I wonder how many other go happy bar goers have fallen prey of this thief. I'm writing this review before settling this issue with this establishment so how they handle the situation is still unknown and I will update my review after this is dealt with.
