My husband dragged me to this place and I honestly had no idea what to expect! My initial thought was loud, crowded, and not my scene. BUT boy was I wrong. The service is great, but when they get busy- they get busy!!! They do not serve food- so they allow outside food. The first night of energy, of fun, and just phenomenal atmosphere- it hooked me. My husband and I try to come every Friday/Saturday. But since I travel almost 80% of the week, we can generally come once a week. The piano players are EXTREMELY talented. They play multiple instruments and all of them have amazing voices. This has been Denvers best kept secret...and selfishly I hope it never gets out! Jamie, one of the artists is AMAZING. This place is fun. I've been here multiple times and each time the pianists have been awesome! They're so talented and can play multiple instruments, including base and drums. They really engaged the crowd and make it fun. It's a $10 cover and drinks are not that expensive. You have to pay for song requests but it makes sense because the pianists have to make a living. WOW what a fantastic and fun bar, and what incredibly talented performers. The bartenders were attentive and kept the drinks flowing, and the music - THE MUSIC - was just amazing. We stayed for hours enjoying the ambience until the live music ended roughly around 2 AM The only downside was that a group of incredibly drunk adults decided it was OK to not only dance right in front of the stage, thereby blocking the view of patrons who are sitting at the tables and those of us sitting at the bar, but also several times tried to jump up on stage to either join in the performance or cozy up to the performers. We understand having a good time, but don't be rude and inconsiderate of others, especially when you're not a good dancer just an obviously drunk one. I had been here before on a Dooling piano night, and despite the fact that the Yelp listing said they were closed on Wednesday night, their website said that they were open for Broadway karaoke. When we got there, just after the start around eight P.M. we were the only people in the joint but by the end it was hopping and Joshua the amazing pianist continued to play and sing past 11 P.M without any break! We had a great time at Fortissimo Dueling pianos. We arrived before 8:30am and there was only one piano playing. However after 8:15-8:30 the mood changed (lights off, two piano players) and it felt like a traditional piano bar. While the entertainment was fun, I chose 4 stars instead of 5 because the food was average but nothing to wow anyone. Also, the drinks weren't amazing so I transitioned to drinking wine. I used to drive past Fortissimo all the time when I lived in Five Points, always wondering what it was but I never stopped in. And honestly? Major regret. This place is an absolute blast. A solo musician was playing mellow tunes, and we grabbed a couple of drinks and settled in. But as the night went on -- the place filled up and the full band took the stage -- it turned into a full-on party. From 90s throwbacks to modern songs, people were dancing, singing. Then came the trumpet ... and THEN the keytar showed up. I will never be the same. The performers were crazy talented, the drinks were on point (espresso martinis, margs, a G&T), and the food was exactly what you want during a night like this, we had queso, cheese plates, and pizza. Where to start... 1. We walked in the door for our 6:45 reservation (which we paid $15 a person for) and was promptly told "you do know this is just for happy hour and not the actual show?" We were stunned and confused! This was not made clear when the reservation was booked. We paid $15 a person just to sit down and pay more money for drinks. Clearly this is a chronic problem because the hostess explained this to the group behind us and was met with the same reaction. 2. Service was slow and disorganized. Took forever to get drinks and they completely missed putting our food order in. 3. The hostess came and told us the next reservation was here and we had to vacate. Our group left and we stood outside, talking. After about 15 min, we noticed our table was still vacant. Customer service is pretty terrible. We want to go back for the dueling pianos but not sure it's worth enduring the poor service for. read more

Dropped by for a late night drink because it was close to my hotel. The musicians were great! All three of them rocked me with their talent. I loved that they were playing some 90s hits as well as general popular songs such as Don't Stop Believing. I tried the Jessies Girl cocktail. It was good but the muddled blueberries sunk to the bottom and were a little too thick. The bartender also overcharged me by giving me top shelf liquor without asking. The drink was marked for $12.50 and there was a separate $2 charge on my bill for the drink at the end. I just wish they would have asked, considering the drink that I ordered was marked as 12.50 on the menu. Other than that I did have a good time. The staff there are incredibly talented. I enjoyed the live music and am amazed by the versatility of their talent. My experience was absolutely ruined by one of the performers putting two fingers over his mouth (as a mustache) and the other hand up in N*zi salute. I left immediately. The different pianists make the experience fun. The younger pianist really tried to fulfill requests, even newer music like Lizzo! The salt-n-pepper daddy pianist played the older music, but didn't do our Broadway music requests... The man and woman duo only played Gen X music so if you're into that kind of thing, this is the place to be. They really stuck to their own schtick, which didn't feel genuine. It also reached above 100db, so definitely bring ear plugs!!! Bring cash for music requests; They won't play your song if you Venmo. The cocktails were good and strong which was nice, but the water glasses needed to be cleaned cause there was a definite smell. The food was pretty pricy for the small portions, like $12 for five cocktail shrimp. The bottomless popcorn was nice, but was the only hot food. Looking for a preshow spot? Don't waste your time. Stopped in on our way to a musical and we were the only people there. Alcoholic drinks weren't showing up on the QR menu for some reason, and our server didn't have a clue what any of their specialty drinks were, so we had to order something basic. He also forgot to bring us water. Ordered a really greasy flatbread that was delivered with one tiny napkin. Service was really inattentive the whole time even though we were the only customers. Realized after we left we weren't charged happy hour prices for our drinks. Overall just a really awkward experience, no plans to return. read more

Wanted to like this place, but for $30 a person just to get in.... service is slow at best. The server walked by me 4 times when I literally had my hand up to close out, so I had to walk to the bar to close out. Then they couldn't find my credit card. Cocktails are poorly made, but still pricey, so we stuck with beer for the night. The dueling pianos pushed for you to "put in requests" via Venmo( tip them), but then do not perform or acknowledge the request if you use Venmo. Put in a request at 8:35pm, and multiple times throughout the night, the performers would say, we are running out of requests. Following "Beetlejuice" at DCPA, my friend wanted to come over to Fortissimo Dueling Pianos for a little bit. I'm so glad that she did, I've often walked past following a show but never actually had time to stop in before. Really glad that we did. It is a great spot. The onstage entertainment at the piano and those that temporarily joined the stage to sing along were skilled and engaging - kind of like showtunes karaoke but on crack. Song after song were requested by the commoners and the Gods on grands accommodated. Not everything ran perfectly that night, in the lands of drink and good food, but ultimately, Management made the situation right for us. Really enjoyed: "Jessie's Girl" for favorite signature cocktail, and flatbreads are not to be missed! Definitely plan to return when Dueling Pianos is the focus of my evening! read more

My family and I always try to find dueling pianos when we travel. This place was awesome. The servers were very nice and attentive. The food was good. We got the artichoke dip and meat lovers flatbread (note that those aren't actually the names of the food on the menu). The three on stage (John, Jon, and Jami) are so very talented and just fun to watch. They engaged with the audience and just made everything so fun. We brought the kids for the first half (the establishment kindly asks them to depart by 10PM) and they went out of their way to include them in the fun. Would 100% come back! read more

We came here after a show at the Buell. The place was clean, the drinks were unique, and the prices were decent. They had fresh ingredients for the cocktails such as fresh fruit and lavender. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. They took the time to give recommendations and explain the drinks in detail. The ambiance was so neat! I just want to start by saying - I love dueling piano bars, but this is not that. The bartenders are lovely people but the drinks are simply flat out bad. I've had better pours at a frat house. There are a few decent performers, but the main guy who normally wears a bedazzled jacket is truly terrible. He must own the place because there's absolutely no way someone is paying him to perform. No amount of lasers (why???) and dark lighting can distract from the caterwauling going on in that abyss. Save yourself the trouble, go somewhere else. read more

This place was not for us. Weird vibe and awkward seating arrangements. We couldn't even see the band from our location, and there was limited seating in view. A drunk girl was relentlessly pestering us to get up and dance on the "dance floor" that consisted of only her and her friend in the dark backside of the bar where we couldn't even see the pianos.
