We had a very tasty brunch and were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of fresh options. The espresso martini was perfection and I can't believe I hadn't tried to this place sooner!
Cute diner in the Rally Hotrl where we were staying. Its quite packed around lunch time on weekends and weekday mornings. We ha breakfast here everyday and lunch once. Portions are huge and food is basic but tasty. The only thing I didnt like was the amount of potatoes in everything. Like overwhelming amount:) My tofu scramble was 75% potatoes and 25% tofu n veg. My husband's egg breakfasts were also chock full of potatoes. We literally had to tell them to not give us so much on our 3rd breakfast there-guess what? They gave us extra potatoes. By this time husband and i were just laughing and decided we are going on a tater sabbatical for a few weeks now! We tried the farro bowl and caprese for lunch one day and they were both delish. My husband's eggs were cooked well and my avo toast was decent as well.
I was happy with club sandwich, but ordered a French dip to go, too. Huge mistake. Next time I'll go to Arbys for 6.99 instead. The lack of meat and poor eye appeal for $18 at this restaurant wasnt worth it. Take this off your seasonal or regular menu until you learn how to make one. Spent $56 (that was just my bill) and we, party of 6,were shocked at what they thought was a French Dip. Where's the beef lol? Was it because I ordered it to go? Waiter, service and location was fine. I just know not to order that again. It wasn't the price as much as lack of value and the taste was lacking(chewy, too). I'll stick with Arbys. The club sandwich was Huge and quite tasty. Just don't order their French Dip until they learn how to make one lol and I'm sure I won't spend $18 for it. We'll be back, just know what not to order. I almost asked for a refund and gave it back. I will next time.
We came to Denver expecting amazing mountain views. What we didn't expect was to need a moment of silence after brunch. The food? Amazing. The weather? Amazing. The service? Also amazing. Basically, The Original understood the assignment. Kayleigh took great care of us from start to finish. She noticed my wife and I were wearing Chris Brown and Usher tour shirts and asked if we were headed to the concert. We both replied, "No," which probably made us look like two people who just enjoy confusing strangers. We just liked the shirts, okay? Now let's talk cocktails. The "Don't Mind If I Do" was hands down one of the best Old Fashioned-style cocktails I've had in a long time. Smooth, balanced, and dangerous because it tricks you into thinking, "One more couldn't hurt." My wife ordered the Pig & Pony and absolutely loved it. We also ordered the Hot Take... which isn't pictured because we inhaled it before either of us remembered phones have cameras. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were outstanding, and the atmosphere somehow managed to be both lively and relaxing. If you're in Denver and skip this place, that's between you and your poor life choices. We'll definitely be back... preferably wearing more random concert shirts just to keep Kayleigh guessing.
Met here for brunch today, and it was PACKED, on a waitlist for 45 minutes, for Sunday brunch as well as the crowds attending the Rockies versus Giants baseball game at the stadium next door. Raistlin (Rai) was a great server, taking time to chat with us a bit, checking on us, making sure our orders were correct. We ordered a shredded short rib eggs Benedict and a OG Breakfast with 2 eggs sunny side up, home style potatoes, sourdough toast. Enjoyed my Strawberry Stand and my husband enjoyed his Espresso martini. Everything tasted great! It was fun trying two hot sauces on the table as well.
My friend and I had breakfast here the other morning, and really enjoyed it! Our server was great - he checked on us multiple times, made recommendations, and was very lively for early in the morning. There's tons of seating within this restaurant, including many seats around the bar. We were seated at a booth, which was nice. On to the food - I had the veggie benedict, which came with a very generous portion of potatoes, and plenty of hollandaise. I really enjoyed this breakfast, and the seemingly bottomless coffee. I did take most of my potatoes home, they make for a great reheat for another breakfast. Will absolutely be back to try more of the menu!
Suuuuper yummy food and drinks! First time coming here and I'll definitely be back. We started with the cronuts which were perfectly crispy and sweet. I ordered the seasonal pumpkin spice espresso martini which was delicious! And then had the lobster Benedict for my entree which was 10/10! Service was nice and attentive and the inside is so modern, bright, and cute!
A friend put me onto this brunch spot, and now it's firmly in my rotation. It's tucked inside a hotel in McGregor Square and has such a fun, lively vibe--especially on the weekends. The first few times I went, I couldn't stop ordering the Hangover Burger... and for good reason. From the perfectly cooked smash burger to the rich, flavorful aioli, it's *so* satisfying. It's definitely on the bigger side, though, so come hungry. Their cocktails are also a win across the board, but my personal favorites are the "Drunk in Love" and the "Resting Spritz Face"--both super refreshing and brunch-approved. I brought my boyfriend here, and he got the short rib eggs Benedict and immediately hit me with a "run, don't walk" so that tells you everything you need to know. More recently, I came with a group of girlfriends and finally branched out to the steak & eggs. I ordered my steak medium with fries instead of the breakfast potatoes and absolutely *destroyed* that plate. The chimichurri was fresh and herby, the avocado added the perfect creamy balance, and dipping the fries in a side of garlic aioli just took it to another level. This is such a great spot for a girls' brunch--it does get pretty poppin on weekends, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you're going with a group. That said, I've also gone on a weekday morning and sat at the bar, which was a much more relaxed (but still perfect) vibe. Definitely a go-to brunch spot with something for everyone.
Pretty great brunch spot! It's like an upscale diner with friendly staff, fun 70s vibe decor and lots of menu options. Located across the ballpark. I went for the chicken and biscuit. Chicken was coated with a hot honey. It came with sausage gravy, which I always ask for on the side. The dish came like an open faced sandwich topped with eggs. Very tasty. Made it even better with their selection of local hot sauces to meet my sweet and spicy desires. The sausage gravy wasn't great but didn't miss it. Dish was good as is!
This restaurant has a really cool vibe and is built out with an industrial atmosphere combined with a 1950s diner. We got the monthly special pancake, which was cookie butter and it was absolutely to die for. On top of that, our server TJ was one of the warmest, kindest servers we've ever had. He made my son feel so at home that he's asking when we're going back.
Man, the short rib benedict is to die for! The rich hollandaise and the tender beef along with the crispy potatoes was fabulous and the hollandaise was decadent! We also had the banana french toast which is sumptuous with the banana bread topped with delicious walnuts (we took one piece off when I took the photo so it is really ample sized)! The coffee was off today...bitter and sour, but when I asked for a new cup of it, it was better the second round. Amazing service by Teej. We love that the Dining Out Passbook has this place in there! Great deal.
First time here! The food was not bad, but nothing special. Definitely better options out there. I rate the food about a C+. Good coffee. Great service. We didn't order anything extravagant, just breakfast. This is a nice establishment, but the elevated ambience does not match the cuisine. Not sure if I will come back, at least not as my choice. Unless a group of friends chooses this place. Service was great!
My friend and I enjoyed a Friday morning brunch at The Original while staying at the Rally Hotel. It's location, at our hotel, made it convenient, but the menu looked to be just our style as well. We headed down to a crowded restaurant around 11 AM. It was pretty packed because it was opening day for the Colorado Rockies, and everyone was getting pre-game food. We checked in, to find that it was only about a 15-20 minute wait, a perfect amount of time to get mimosas at the bar. It actually turned out that we had a nice little area to drink our mimosas near the hostess stand, where we got to chat with other patrons. The restaurant itself is an upscale and modern diner, with modern diner food. It had a bight aesthetic. Once we were seated, we got to look over the menu. We decided to share the Maple Deviled Eggs and OG Hash with soyrizo. I was glad we shared so we could try both dishes. Also, the portions were rather large. Anyway, we enjoyed the food. It was creative and flavorful. There were lots of menu items the sounded good, so it was difficult to decide. It was also fun to try a couple of breakfast cocktails, for something different than a mimosa. All in all, we had a great brunch at The Original, and it was a great way to start our day.

Amazing food. I got the tofu with regular potatoes, but I should have gotten with sweet potatoes! I had a bite of one and even though I'm not the biggest fan, they were amazing and complimented the dish well (normally comes with sweet potatoes). Hashbrown patties were good, but I would have preferred normal patties. read more

The atmosphere is very cool with a new age modern diner design. The hostess and server were very friendly. The breakfast tacos, eggs Benedict, and bloody marys were quite tasty! It is a cool place if you are in the Denver downtown area. read more

Legitimately might be the best french toast I've had in my life. Just look at the pic I took. It was like... a stack of crispy UFOs. Also got potatoes on the side bc my friends had been raving about them. I mean, they were good, but they were talking as if god himself made them. Waiter was also nice. read more
We went here for Father's Day, and didn't realize there was a Rockies game that day so traffic was wild and parking wasn't easy to find. The square it was located in was bustling and wild and looked like so much fun (maybe before game activities)! They had great drink options- we enjoyed the bloody Mary's with the marinated Brussels sprout in it!! There was so much food but reasonably priced. The pimento deviled eggs weren't my flavor but everyone else at the table liked them! The kid AFTER those bite sized churros!! We probably could have split the kids meals in two- but if I'm honest, there wasn't any leftovers. The meals were delicious and filling so be warned but I would recommend for a casual meal out! read more

Came in for breakfast on a Sunday when the Broncos were playing. It definitely took quite a while for our food to come in, but all the breakfast dishes were great. I had the chorizo hash which was excellent. My friend ordered the chili-dillas which exceeded my expectations. Would recommend both dishes! Another friend ordered a burger which was the weakest of the three. I really liked the ambience of the hotel this place is connected to--all the baseball memorabilia is worth taking a quick peek at. read more

Came here with a few friends for Denver restaurant week and we were all very impressed! We tried a two course set menu, starting with either deep fried sausages or yogurt parfaits and following with the brioche French toast or avocado toast. Everything was amazing!! I am surprised to see that The Original has such middle of the road reviews. I went this past weekend for brunch and had a good experience. The vibe when you walk in is welcoming and fun. It wasn't outrageously expensive and the service was pretty good. They were busy but our server was still very attentive, my only gripe is that he was a bit slow with the refill of the bottomless mimosas. We got the brioche French toast which I thought was a great balance of soft and sweet center and slightly crispy edges. We also got the green chili poutine which is a poutine I would put up against most other restaurants, it was well balanced and not too much green chili so it turned out the entire dish into a soppy mess. I also got the chorizo hash which I would skip, there was not enough chorizo or veggies for me to qualify it as a true hash, it was more of a potato mostly dish. That being said the potatoes were great! Another compliment all the eggs were cooked perfectly!!! I would absolutely go back to the Original for brunch! read more
Loved the atmosphere in this restaurant. The service was perfect, we loved Barney. He made sure we had a good breakfast and left happy. My mom really enjoyed her Benedict, the short ribs weren't dry at all. Very flavorful. The hollandaise had a little kick, I liked that. Restaurant is gorgeous and our server was awesome! He had black hair but I don't remember his name. Our only complaint was our eggs were cooked incorrectly. I asked for over medium and my friend asked for over easy. All the eggs the yolk was cooked hard. read more
Such a delicious Benedict!! Really fun vibes in the rally hotel downtown right in the middle of mcgregor square. I went for a friends birthday and they brought her a milkshake with a sparkler in it. Super cute and the milkshake was really good too. Service was great! read more
This place left a lot to be desired. We came here for brunch on Sunday and the place was pretty empty. We had made reservations just in case. We walked in and we're seated at a booth which was very narrow... there wasn't much room to fully be comfortable. We waited quite a bit for someone to even acknowledge us at our table. Plenty of employees walked by. An employee even dropped silverware next to our table and didn't say anything to us while cleaning up. Not that they had to, I get they're busy cleaning, but they didn't even look our way. We waited and finally our server brought water and left again. The server finally came back and took our drink order and quickly left. We ordered bottomless mimosas. The server came back and took our food order and quickly left. We drank our mimosas and waited patiently for our food. It was about an hour or so into being sat down that we got our food. Our appetizer was brought first, which was crispy Brussels. They were not very crispy at all. They tasted a bit old, but the glaze on them was pretty good. The food was bland. It tasted as though it had been sitting there for quite some time. The potatoes were not crispy and fresh. They felt like yesterdays potatoes. The eggs Benedict bread didn't seem like it was toasted. It was cut thick and the bread felt so overwhelming. The short rib lacked flavor and again... it just didn't taste fresh. The chicken fried steak was not enjoyed by my friends. They said it was like a big piece of steak that was breaded and was just not done right. (Edited to mention I've never had it, just going off of what they told me) The croughnuts were tasty but they also tasted like they had been sitting there for some time. It also took forever to get a refill on the mimosas. I even asked the waiter if it was possible to get a carafe so that we didn't have to wait so long for our next glass and he told us they don't do that. I don't think I'll come back here. Maybe for the mimosas but there's other places that have bottomless and have better food/service. Pretty disappointed. The decor inside is cute though. read more

We have been meaning to return after highly coveted Elite Yelp event. We finally remembered to have brunch here. Immediately after entering, I was wowed by the interior decor, art deco with a modern twist. We decided to sit at a window table tucked away in the corner facing the courtyard. The staff was warm and accommodating, no complaints in this department. I went all out with their Breakfast Sandwich, which was accompanied by potatoes. The sandwich was sad looking but delicious. The egg was fried, so beware of the first bite with the runny egg yoke potentially squirting everywhere. When I first glanced at the potatoes I was excited thinking they were crunchy, but not quite as expected but still well seasoned. My wife had the OG Breakfast and liked it. Definitely coming back for more! read more
Gorgeous inside! Love the natural light that envelopes the restaurant. we had the tab e all the way to the back facing the big screen outside. Such a great sunny day! Having dined here before courtesy of a Yelp Elite Event - dinner for breakfast. I've always wanted to dine here again. We had the chance to do brunch this recent week. I had the Original. Which was two eggs cooked your way (over easy for me), your choice of protein(sausage) and potatoes. The weakest link here was the potatoes. I was expecting a crunchy on the outside soft on the inside feast. it wasn't and it was also bland. The portion was very commendable but ..... saving grace was the sausage. It was really good! It was hefty and slightly spicy! I like it! My husband Adam D. had the bagel breakfast and he liked it! Although in hindsight his eggs should've been over medium. It was a messy scene. All I heard was "shower" and @$&#! lol! The retro like design with a twist of modern because of the open air design is well loved by me. We were staying at The Rally for a weekend getaway and decided to have brunch. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from a "hotel restaurant" but this was the exception I had hoped for! The food was delicious and our server (i can't remember his name) was absolutely delightful. Attentive, but not too attentive, you know? We ate here twice during the three days we were in town and were lucky enough to get him both times. His name was Jeremy! My husband found it on our receipt. Thank you Jeremy. read more
We stopped through here on a Sunday and it was packed with a wait time of about two hours. Luckily a spot at the bar opened up. I honestly was expecting this food to be mediocre at best since it is in a touristy spot and I was completely wrong. I had an aperol spritz which was done perfectly. I ordered the avocado toast and it was probably the best avocado toast I've ever had. It came with a kale salad that was tossed in green goddess dressing. It was a creative spin on it and hit the mark. Husband got the chorizo hash and it was also amazing. It was well balanced with the meat, potatoes, and egg as opposed to most places making it egg forward. I would be happy to go back to this place. The food, bartenders, drinks, and vibe were all 5/5. read more

Love this restaurant! It's so bright and colorful and the staff is super friendly, it does get pretty busy so may need to call in advance to reserve a table or just wait till they have one available. I brought an out of town friend here on a whim and was not disappointed. Is it mind blowing out of this world service? Not necessarily. But in my experience the food is consistently good and a comfortable atmosphere at a reasonable cost which makes it a safe recommendation for out of town, and local brunch recommendations alike. read more

I had avocado toast. I killed it and the rest of the experience was pretty forgettable which is sad because brunch is my favorite meal. I would say this is a good place to visit if you're staying downtown and can walk here but I wouldn't make a special trip. read more

I've sat on this review for months, waiting for some inspiration or a reason to change my impression but neither seems likely to happen any time soon so it's time to get in with it... We came here for dinner with friends excited to see what The Original might have to offer. McGregor Square is bursting with energy, it's near the ball park and it does seem to have an air of nostalgia for good home cooking. The reality was less interesting unfortunately as the service was blah and so was the food. We sat outside and despite lots of seating options and no shortage of empty seats still ended up next to another group that left is feeling cramped and intruded upon. COVID-edge t I guess... The food options seemed interesting but they just didn't deliver. It was expensive and relatively boring. Not bad just not worth a repeat. Is it bad, not at all. Is it someplace I want to put in repeat, absolutely not. We walk by here multiple times each week coming and going and unfortunately, based on the lack of guests, it seems that most have had a similar experience. I want this place to be cool and fun and crazy busy and serve awesome food but it just doesn't. I think that it will soon get a makeover and then change as there are more restaurants opening net by to add to the competitive landscape. read more
My family and I (party of 5) came in on a Friday morning and it wasn't too crowded. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was very well decorated for the Christmas holiday. Our server was very pleasant and gave good recommendations. We ordered the green chili poutine, mushroom frittata, kale crunch salad, chorizo hash, and zesty blueberry pancakes. My favorites were definitely the green chili poutine and the kale crunch salad. The green chili poutine came out first and I nearly finished the entire thing myself. The green chili was just perfect and the fries actually stayed crunchy under the chili which was just excellent. The kale crunch salad had a miso flavor and the mandarin oranges made it very refreshing. Everything we had was very solid and I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu! read more

This place opens early so is convenient if you want to get an early start. It's conveniently attached to the rally hotel. We came in for breakfast and had some hot coffee and cold brew. The cold brew was perfect and had a bit of its own natural sweetness. We ordered the og breakfast and the chicken and biscuits. The serving sizes are huge and you definitely get your moneys worth here. My husband typically finishes everything on his plate and he actually left some. The one thing that I found wrong with the place was that we ordered sourdough toast and were served white toast other than that everything was spot on. The sweet and spicy contrast on the chicken and biscuits was delicious. On the OG platter, the eggs were cooked perfect and they give you plenty of potatoes that have an excellent tasty spice blend on them. If you're staying at the hotel, you also get free churro bites. They reminded me of the churros that you get at Disneyland. read more

Came for brunch for my friend to ask me to be a bridesmaid and the food was incredible. I got the biscuits and gravy and was so happy. The potatoes and biscuits and gravy were so tasty. It all meshed well together. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the eggs just too much for the plate. The bathroom was in the hotel pretty far walk so that wasn't ideal but the food and the atmosphere were so cute. 5/5 would recommend read more

We came here for dinner on a Friday night. We made a reservation but it wasn't very busy when we arrived and the restaurant had ample seating. Although they were low on staff, I cannot emphasize enough how friendly the wait staff was. They offered so many recommendations, made sure to check on us when they could, and overall had A plus customer service. We started off with Brussels sprouts which were so so good. I loved the char they had to them and the sauce that came on the side was delicious with them. For dinner, I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the burger. There was a bit of a wait for the food, but again, they were short staffed and we at least had the sprouts to munch on during our wait. The food came out looking fresh and hot. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I had ordered it spicy, but could have done with a bit more kick. The brioche bun was delicious, but it did get a bit soggy on the bottom. My boyfriend really enjoyed his burger and we were both fans of the shoestring fries. Overall, we had a good experience here. We loved the diner atmosphere, they had a little bit of everything, and service was so friendly! read more

I had passed by The Original a few times but never stopped in. I clearly have been missing out. I came in for a Yelp event, which allowed me to taste a variety of dishes from appetizers to desserts. I started with an adult "Capri sun" which was a delicious and refreshing rum drink. Then stared with brussel spouts and devil eggs. Score the main course. The Brussels were super crispy, just how I like them and covered in seasoning and cheese. The deviled egg was light and nice as a starter. I followed up with tasty rib and steak with potatoes. Wow! The steak was cooked perfectly and the chimmichuri sauce was the ideal compliment. Clearly the star is the show. The seasoning in the potatoes was addictive, I could eaten just a plate of those. The desserts came out just in time for my sweet tooth. Brownies and apple pie gave my sweet tooth the satisfaction it needed to call it a night. I highly recommend checking out The Original even if there isn't a game going on at the near by stadium. read more

The ambiance is fun & inviting, the food was great (I had the breakfast sandwich on an everyday bagel and my husband had the pulled pork benedict ), and our server (Breanna) was fantastic . Located in a big development area in Denver, this was a pleasant surprise. Had heard great things about the OG. It didn't disappoint. We were a big group on a food tour and this was one of our stops. Service was great for us. We had the opportunity to try their brussel sprouts, croughnut sliders, and specialty drink. The diner vibes were apparent, but more upscale. Cool space for sure. Looking forward to coming back for more! read more

The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful. We visited while it was snowing, and it honestly felt like a scene from a Hallmark movie. The service was exceptional, our waiter was attentive and kind. The food is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend it as a breakfast/brunch spot read more
