Was really excited to see Paperboy come to the West Highlands neighborhood and fill the void we've had for a fun sit down brunch. The vibes here are amazing, and I appreciate the big garage windows and patios to make all the seating bright and airy. We loved sharing the brown butter paperboy pancake along with our individual breakfasts. I highly recommend the lox and jalapeño business cocktail that I ordered for myself. Can't wait to return and try more from this menu. jalapeño business (reposado tequila, pineapple, sage, jalapeño, lime) paperboy pancake (maple syrup, brown butter, sea salt) lox plate (citrus cured lox*, grilled scallion cream cheese, citrus kosho, pickled beets, cucumbers, wild rice furikake, shiso, flax toast)

It's rare that I go all in on brunch these days, so I'm pretty selective about where I go. Paperboy made it very easy to be excited about brunch again. This is their first Colorado location, originally from Austin, and it really feels like a neighborhood all-day café done right. I didn't even drink when I went, and honestly I'm glad because I got to fully focus on the food. We tried quite a bit and everything was genuinely great. The ricotta toast with strawberry, rhubarb, and honeycomb was fresh and balanced. The chorizo and potato empanada was flavorful, and the orange chai brioche roll and strawberry hibiscus pop tart were both standout pastries. The chicken and biscuit was a highlight. The fried chicken was juicy and tender with a really crispy, well-seasoned crust. Easily one of the better fried chicken dishes I've had in a while. The paperboy pancake and Texas hash were also solid, and the orange blossom cortado was a creative and really enjoyable coffee drink. Overall, this is a spot where everything feels thoughtful and well executed. Definitely one I'll be going back to.

Fried chicken and biscuit with gravy

We decided to make reservations for 10 people for brunch while we were visiting Denver. We showed up a little early but they were still able to accommodate us pretty quickly. Service was pretty good but I was a little frustrated that they ran out of empanadas and it was only 11 am and she forgot to bring the sausage with my order. I ordered the chocolate chip pancake and added the 2 sunny side eggs and sausage. My fiancée ordered the fried chicken and biscuit and hash brown. The pancake was a little different from the normal pancake and it was ok. My fiancée enjoyed the fried chicken and wasn't a fan of the biscuit. The hash brown was good but nothing special. Everyone in my party liked their food and drinks. I liked that they served cubes of rice krispy treats with the check. Overall it was a good experience. It's a cute restaurant and the restrooms are clean.

This Colorado location of a popular Austin,TX brunch spot opened March 24th. I have driven by on Sat mornings and always saw a line of people waiting at 9am. So I came this Friday morning when they opened at 8am. Four people were waiting. I sat at the tiled bar and was served by Lindsey. Very pleasant. Nice brunch menu. I started with a strong cup of Superthing coffee and the Spring Fling cocktail. It was an Aperol Spritz with strawberry shrub, basil, cava and sparkling water. Perfect brunch drink. I got half & half in a mini jug. Free refills of coffee & creamer. Very clean and airy dining area. They have 8 bar seats, a community table for 8 and numerous 2 & 4 person tables. I got the Almond & Cherry coffeecake which actually was a muffin. Very fresh with cherry compote inside and topped with shaved almonds. The kitchen was very quick. My brunch entree was the Texas Hash. A large amount of shredded roast pork with onions, cubes of sweet potato on a bed of pecan mole. Yummy and filling. I saw several children in high chairs, but saw no children's menu. Their website will only accept reservations for 2+ people, so arrive early for solo dining. Fellow customers told me they came one day at 130pm and was told of a 45min wait. There are 10 patio tables on the west side accessible from inside. Plenty of room for wheelchairs. They have 1 men's & 1 women's restroom. No parking lot. Street parking is limited to 2hrs, but saw 3hrs available on north-south streets.

What do you do when everything looks good on the menu? Well... you order (almost) everything! Unfortunately, there were a few things the restaurant was out of when we arrived. We scoped out the menu beforehand and had our hearts set on the poblano and cheddar biscuits, the avocado toastada, and strawberry hibiscus Pop-Tart, but alas not was not to be. Fortunately a couple of other things that we wanted were still available and we were able to try some other delicious things instead. First stop, cocktails. The Spring Fling was a delightful twist on the Aperol Spritz. I loved it! Highly recommend! The lox plate was not quite what I expected. It was delicious, but I was a little disappointed that half the dish was just bread. The smoked salmon was divine. It went really well with the pickled beets and veggies...And that scallion cream cheese sauce just brought everything together so beautifully. So much flavor on one plate. I would pay more to get a larger portion of everything else with with less of the flax toast. Maybe two slices instead of four? The chicken and biscuits were really good. The biscuit was cooked to just doneness, so it was nice and chewy in the middle. The chicken was fried perfectly, but could have used a pinch more seasoning. The steak and eggs... Loved this. This steak was nice and tender. Seasoned beautifully and cooked perfectly. The chimichurri on top had a nice kick to it. A little spicier then I expected. Definitely woke the taste buds up in a good way. The arugula and radish salad on the side was a great palate cleanser: Crisp and peppery. It complimented the rest of the dish very well. The eggs were scrambled perfectly: Soft and cheesy but not runny. Normally I am a breakfast potatoes girl but there were so many other delicious things on that one plate that the poor potato wedges barely got any attention. They were cooked well and season just fine, but flavor-wise they pailed in comparison to everything else on the plate. The lemon and ricotta pancake was tasty. I was hoping for a little bit more filling, but it was still good. Fluffy and spongy... More like cake and less like a regular pancake. That almond cherry coffee cake muffin was so good! I should have got an extra one to go. It was perfectly sweet, moist and spongy with a deliciously bright, fruity filling. If you get one of these, get another one for later. Or for breakfast the next morning. Either way, get two. I wasn't a big fan of the ricotta toast with strawberry and rhubarb. I had really high hopes for this one, but unfortunately there were too many competing textures here and I don't think that the flax toast was the best choice of bread for this kind of dish. The earthy flavor of the bread, the thick, tough texture of it, as well as the little flax seeds in it gave the dish an unexpected savory element which made it unpleasant. And there was just so much ricotta on the toast. It was difficult to eat this neatly and enjoy all of the flavor and texture elements together. Personally, I would have enjoyed this as a dessert, without the toast. In fact, my friend and I chose to deconstruct the dish and we enjoyed it much better without the toast. A spoonful of ricotta, strawberry and rhubarb with a touch of that delightfully tangy herbed vinaigrette... It was fantastic. Hopefully there will be a toast-free version of this dish on the menu the next time I come. Each of the staff members we interacted with was absolutely wonderful. Kind and friendly and welcoming. This place does get crowded though. Not sure if they take reservations but if they do I highly recommend them. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and limited street parking available so plan accordingly.

Came in for Saturday brunch and it was incredible, our server was nice and helpful. We got two classic breakfasts, one b.e.c., and a chocolate chip pancake all were very good. I would NOT skip the pancake it was a fav favorite. The potato wedges were also amazing!! The uncle Jesse and Paloma were also a hit. We will definitely be back!

My "foodie" daughter & I visited their Austin location last December and were excited to learn they were coming to Denver. This is the perfect location for their concept. They started out as a food truck, which explains their limited menu, but everything they make is top-notch; the quality/test of their food exceeded even our hopes. A Saturday morning brought about 50% families with very small babies/kids, but our server, Jessie, was awesome. First, their "Cinnamon Toast" should be renamed to "The BEST thing you'll eat" - as it hits just right (not too sweet). The Ricotta Toast was also balanced right between sweet and savory (the honeycomb was amazing). The Chicken & Biscuit has an amazing "hot" honey that is just spicy enough to notice, but won't be a distraction - just Wow!. My eggs/avocado/pork in fresh tortillas were filling, and the sauce just made every bite a delight. Paperboy has raised the bar, and no one else comes close. Don't snooze and let this opportunity go by. Traditional brunch menus may be more extensive, but everything is mediocre. Paperboy has focused on what they do best - and they knock it out of the park. My only recommendations are to (1) get a reservation on OpenTable; (2) Arrive early to find parking - a challenge in this neighborhood - you may have to walk a few blocks - but worth it, and (3) Try something you may initially be hesitant to try - I did, and it was well worth it. YUM! Thank you, Paperboy, you delivered!!

Pop tart, cinnamon toast, biscuits and egg and avocado egg dish.

I've been to one of the locations in Austin. Now they are in Denver! I think they created the most perfect flavor combinations for breakfast. I went with another colleague and we agreed this was one of if not the best breakfast experiences we've had. Amazing service and food. It was a business breakfast so we didn't even try the cocktails. They look equally delicious. I will be a regular at Paperboy. I do know reservations will become a must in the near future.

My friend and I arrived with laptops and left them closed. The whole place has an Elle Woods sleepover energy: pink-adjacent, unapologetically cozy, a little magical. We enjoyed our treats, caught up and people watched. And yes these are treats. There may be alcohol at other times; we were just there for coffee and tea, and the specials leaned floral. I had something built around orange blossom that drifted between citrus and honeysuckle, delicate enough to feel like a mood rather than a flavor. Lovely, if not exactly life-changing. But that's the point: Hello Darling pulls you in with its aesthetic and keeps you with its comfy, cozy seats. Definitely equally suited to a solo work session or a two-hour gossip spiral that was supposed to be a work session! Come for the drinks, stay because you forgot you had somewhere else to be.

There was only one bartender, but he was friendly and attentive and came over to our table quickly. The espresso martini I ordered was a nine out of 10 - very tasty but had a strong vodka taste (which tells me it was probably very cheap vodka). The other cocktail was a Manhattan and it was not served with an ice cube instead it was only watered down. Probably wouldn't order that again. Overall, the space was cute and comfy, and I'd like to stop back in and try a coffee sometime

They pair the espresso with a coconut yuzu tonic, with a hint of vanilla, and a dried lemon wheel for garnish. It's sweeter than what I typically enjoy, however it's so damn delicious and refreshing! OBSESSED. It normally gets crowded in here, with plenty of people like me working remotely on their laptops. The owners are also extremely nice and have been behind the counter every time I've been. Even on a weekday morning, there was a gentle buzz of activity, yet we were pleasantly surprised to find a couple of open tables and no line at the counter. The friendly barista greeted us right away, and we were able to order our coffee drinks without any wait. While waiting, we took a moment to admire the pastry case and decided to share a beautiful pineapple Danish that looked too good to pass up. We settled into a cozy table by the window (the only small downside being the lack of outlets for working), and before we knew it, our drinks were ready. The coffees were served in the most charming handmade crockery cups, complete with lovely latte art. And I have to say--the latte itself was just as delightful as it looked: smooth, balanced, and perfectly crafted. The atmosphere immediately draws you in with its eco-conscious, Scandinavian hygge-inspired aesthetic. Think warm wood tones, soft natural light streaming through the windows, and thoughtfully curated, cozy decor that invites you to linger. It feels intentional and welcoming without being overdone. I also couldn't help but notice how dog-friendly the café is--from adorable bread-shaped dog toys available for purchase to water bowls set out for thirsty pups. It's clear they've considered every guest, furry ones included. One of my favorite features is the large garage-style front door that can open fully on warm days, seamlessly blending the indoor space with the front patio and making the café feel even more spacious and airy. For an intimate neighborhood café, there's a generous number of tables and seating options, along with a sizable menu offering plenty of food and beverage choices. I can easily imagine Hearth becoming a go-to spot for locals--whether for a quiet morning coffee, a casual meeting, or a slow start to the day. It's warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. I would happily return for another coffee (and maybe another pastry) again soon.

My sister used to go regularly when she was in school and let me know that the hours were super awesome for that routine - open at 6am, closed at midnight. Parking is admittedly a bit cramped in the front and pretty awkward to get out of if it's busy, but there is a lot behind the building with more space. There are a surprising number of tables and comfy chairs inside, and the vibe is kinda retro which my sister and I both really love. Their menu is pretty big and they also had a ton of holiday drinks to choose from. My sister has raved about the coffee they use (kaladi), so I got a drip coffee and since I wanted a little festive treat, I also got "the grinch" lol, which was a matcha latte with oat milk and pistachio. Take a wild guess which cup was mine in the photo. My sister got a hazelnut latte, which also came out really pretty. The coffees were ready very quickly, and we were able to find a little table near the back of the shop. Our three drinks (all 12oz) came out to about $16 which I think is pretty on par with specialty coffee drinks, so I felt it was worth the price. The one girl we interacted with at the counter was super friendly, too! It seems to be a very popular spot, which doesn't surprise me even a little bit, and I cannot wait to come back again to try other drinks!

The food is particularly good, especially for a place that I find is more coffee focused than cafe focused. I only have one comment, which is really a comment for many Denver restaurants beyond this one coffee shop. That is this: sandwiches should be cut in half when they're finished being constructed. A sandwich isn't really "finished" until it's cut in half. We should think of that final, decisive slice through the sandwich as a kind of signature at the bottom of a painting or a poem. This is complete. It is ready to be eaten. If a sandwich is too unwieldy to be cut in half easily, then some thought should be given either to the construction and ingredients or to technique. A sandwich may need to be wrapped in parchment, then sliced, or a different knife may need to be used. Whatever needs to happen to slice that thing in half should be considered. I say this is a comment for all of Denver, because you really don't find this problem back east. It's like in coming west people forget about this final, essential step in making a sandwich. Anyway the spicy father is a great breakfast. But it would paradoxically be made truly whole were it to be served in two halves.
