    Pancake with chocolate chips

Made a Resy ahead of time and was able to get seated right away. Service was a bit slow though from greeting to taking the order. For food, I ordered the Lox Plate (the smoked salmon tasted quite fresh and grilled scallion cream cheese paired really well with the salmon itself, as well with the crunch of the wild furikake). I also wanted something sweet from brunch as well and ordered the Paperboy Pancake + added chocolate chips (this was one of the most fluffiest pancakes I've ever had, it was a great size and just loved the texture of it, the brown butter was also really tasty and melted so easily). Plenty of seating indoors and has a large bar as well. Parking - On the Streets Restrooms - Clean

Might've discovered my favorite new brunch spot in Denver. Stopped in for a late brunch. Staff was very accommodating to our party size and the inclusion of a kiddo. For my friends birthday celebration they made her feel special. The place is spacious and clean. The chicken and biscuit was amazing and i could eat that every day of my life. Their pancakes are fluffy and delicious. Bloody Mary was tasty too and service was super prompt. 10/10 recommend, can't wait to come back!

This austinite is very happy to see paperboy land in Denver! The pancake is essential to order. Pro tip: order it as an appetizer for the table to share. The poblano & cheddar biscuits were good but a bit over. The carnita migas were terrific, very flavorful. The coffees were super tasty and hit the spot. I'm happy to see a piece of Austin here.

They left a cute happy birthday card on my table for the occasion :)

Super cute and lively spot that's very family friendly. There's not a ton of room, so a reservation is highly recommended! It was my birthday, and they added a cute little card to the table. Food & drinks were delicious, honestly wish they were open for dinner!

I have been wanting to try this place but it's super busy on weekends. I had a weekday off and drove over here to try. It was mid afternoon and only half way full. Their acclaim is that they are from Texas but I would say it's more kitschy Austin area vs true Texas. The menu is light and servings are not huge. I got the chicken and biscuit which came with 1 egg, 1 Biscuit a side of gravy and hot honey and good portion of Chicken thighs. It was a good but I wish I had 1 more egg. My guest got the frittata and it was like a tiny rectangle frittata absolutely covered with greens. It was just ok. The glasses for tea are short glasses and I asked for Tea and our waiter just never brought another. I really wanted to try the pop tart and empanada but they were out by time we ordered. Overall it was ok but no AMAZING

Was really excited to see Paperboy come to the West Highlands neighborhood and fill the void we've had for a fun sit down brunch. The vibes here are amazing, and I appreciate the big garage windows and patios to make all the seating bright and airy. We loved sharing the brown butter paperboy pancake along with our individual breakfasts. I highly recommend the lox and jalapeño business cocktail that I ordered for myself. Can't wait to return and try more from this menu. jalapeño business (reposado tequila, pineapple, sage, jalapeño, lime) paperboy pancake (maple syrup, brown butter, sea salt) lox plate (citrus cured lox*, grilled scallion cream cheese, citrus kosho, pickled beets, cucumbers, wild rice furikake, shiso, flax toast)

It's rare that I go all in on brunch these days, so I'm pretty selective about where I go. Paperboy made it very easy to be excited about brunch again. This is their first Colorado location, originally from Austin, and it really feels like a neighborhood all-day café done right. I didn't even drink when I went, and honestly I'm glad because I got to fully focus on the food. We tried quite a bit and everything was genuinely great. The ricotta toast with strawberry, rhubarb, and honeycomb was fresh and balanced. The chorizo and potato empanada was flavorful, and the orange chai brioche roll and strawberry hibiscus pop tart were both standout pastries. The chicken and biscuit was a highlight. The fried chicken was juicy and tender with a really crispy, well-seasoned crust. Easily one of the better fried chicken dishes I've had in a while. The paperboy pancake and Texas hash were also solid, and the orange blossom cortado was a creative and really enjoyable coffee drink. Overall, this is a spot where everything feels thoughtful and well executed. Definitely one I'll be going back to.

My son took me here for a late Mother's Day brunch! Ambiance is chic and modern. Food was tasty, the favorite was the cinnamon toast!

loved everything about this place! The pancakes were absolutely delicious, almost a cake/muffin texture. The Texas hash was loaded with carnitas and the homemade hot sauces were an awesome addition. Kevin our sever was attentive and guided us through the menu. We sat outside on a hot and sunny Monday and it was perfect. Will be back again! A solid brunch spot.

My wife and I have walked past this busy eatery on our neighborhood explorations multiple times times and finally used the excuse of our 46th wedding anniversary to reserve a table there this morning. The ambiance is lovely, the service excellent and our food was delicious. The menu has a nice assortment of chip that we're all tantalizing but at the same time was not overwhelming. My wife had the vegetable frittata and I had the eggs, sausage and cheesy hash browns and both meals were perfect! This is our new breakfast and brunch place!

We decided to make reservations for 10 people for brunch while we were visiting Denver. We showed up a little early but they were still able to accommodate us pretty quickly. Service was pretty good but I was a little frustrated that they ran out of empanadas and it was only 11 am and she forgot to bring the sausage with my order. I ordered the chocolate chip pancake and added the 2 sunny side eggs and sausage. My fiancée ordered the fried chicken and biscuit and hash brown. The pancake was a little different from the normal pancake and it was ok. My fiancée enjoyed the fried chicken and wasn't a fan of the biscuit. The hash brown was good but nothing special. Everyone in my party liked their food and drinks. I liked that they served cubes of rice krispy treats with the check. Overall it was a good experience. It's a cute restaurant and the restrooms are clean.

2nd visit. I came on a Monday. Much easier to get in versus Fri or weekend. I sat at the opposite end of the bar near the kitchen and was served by Jesse. Initially my request for a Latte was delayed by a balky machine, so I got their drip coffee. Very strong. I noticed the patio is open with umbrellas. No direct sun until midday, so the patio was filling up by 9am. I got the Migas with add-on of pork carnitas and 3 corn tortillas. Jesse asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. Just the right amount of cheese in the eggs with an half avocado on top. A spicy Serrano sauce was provided. Yummy.

After seeing food pics, I was excited to come here for brunch. Place is very open and lighted because of all the windows which is very enjoyable on a sunny day! We started with a couple Bloody Marys to get the party started. Good bloody, little on the smoky side. Had to grab the pop tart (YUM). I got the pancake plate with 2 sides. Portion size was amazing. So much food! Will definitely be back as food and service was great!

We made our reservation for 5:30PM and showed up at 5:05... glad they were able to seat us at 5:20 even though the restaurant was not busy and had many open tables. Maybe they were staggering for kitchen staff reasons. Marcos was very attentive and made tremendous amount of amazing recommendations. All of us decided to order the short rib from the prix fix menu and we all ordered some sides. We got the French onion soup, the bread pudding and the key lime pie. Also shared some mushrooms, asparagus and creamed spinach. The short ribs was very tender, the key lime pie was perfectly tart and sweet, the bread pudding is a little bit on the harder side as it came in a cast iron dish like a cookie... but the flavor was amazing and tasty w the vanilla ice cream. All in all we had a great time with our girls date after we saw a musical and really helped us wrapped up the day so sweetly. Thanks Marcos and team!

I was excited to take my friends here who were visiting from out of town. It had great reviews and…read moresaid it was child friendly which was a must as a single parent. We arrived and the hostess took 10 minutes to even acknowledge we were there then said she needed more time to clean off some tables which she did very slowly. She then said she would seat the 4 of us at a 2 top with a high chair. She told us to wait until the table was ready. They set the table and brought over a high chair and then suddenly took the high chair away. In true "see you next Tuesday form" the hostess did not say anything to us and instead sat another couple who had just walked into the restaurant. They still said nothing to us until I walked over to the host stand and then blurted out that the couple they sat had been waiting before us for 50 minutes but got "lost in the system". Mind you, the couple had not been in there at all when we got there and we were told we would have the table. I am sure that we were profiled because we had a toddler with us and they decided to seat others in our place that they had set up for us. Not only that, but nobody ever came to talk to us and inform us about what happened. And then to top it off they told us we could order to go and sit in the lobby of the Meridian. Their behavior and attitudes were absolutely atrocious and definitely discriminatory based on us trying to bring a child during happy hour (before dinner seating had even opened). 0/10 do not go here if you enjoy polite hosts and wait staff and are looking for a family friendly establishment. The hotel lobby bar was everything Corinne was not. The bartenders and servers were friendly, food was delicious, and service was fast. They saved our evening which Corinne had done everything to ruin.

Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

I saw Former Saint on CBS News, and the menu and food looked incredible. In particular, that white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was something I know my hubby would look forward to all week! I loved the idea of local food and fresh homemade dishes. Sounds healthy, after a week of potential over-indulgence at other restaurant week venues. An additional bonus was that it is located right near the Denver Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. This has become a dry spot for fine dining, with even the choices on Larimer Square growing more thin, giving rise to the inability to get reservations at favorites like Tamayo and Rioja prior to a show. I go to performances frequently with friends, and despite my rule to avoid hotel restaurants (Former Saint is in the Hyatt Regency), I thought I'd scope out Former Saint as a place to take my friends before the next symphony or Children's Chorale or ballet or broadway performance. I must say, the jury is still out. Former Saint was a Jekyll and Hyde of courses. Parking was not difficult (Yay, maybe I can park here prior to my shows, if I grab a bite first). There is a large garage, and the promise of validation from the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical hotel restaurant. Booths, tables, old and a bit drab. Except for the bar. Oh, my! The bar has this BEAUTIFUL copper creation above it, adding so much industrial character to the space! I was in awe looking at it, as it appeared to bring craft suds to the bartender's taps. I didn't ask how it worked, as it wasn't clear how the beer separation and dispensing worked, but it was a great centerpiece and spectacle for the place. I do wish I had investigated more about this architectural marvel, and will do so if I return. For restaurant week, my husband chose the Lobster Ravioli, Ribeye, and blueberry cheesecake (as predicted). I chose the Gotham salad, roasted chicken, and key lime tart. The lobster ravioli was nice; my husband was surprised that it was a toasted ravioli, but enjoyed it. My salad was full of beautiful greens, pears, walnuts, and feta. No scrimping here! The dressing was light and sweet/sour. The pears were a bit unripe and crisp, to the point that I was having trouble identifying exactly what fruit I was eating, but other than that, the salad was beautiful, healthy, and ample. My husband's ribeye steak was a nice cut, done to his liking. Slivered hash browns were underneath with a nice green chimichurri on top and some sliced Fresnos adding a welcome kick to the dish. My chicken was delightful. 1/2 chicken on the bone, seasoned nicely, and with a pan sauce. The breast was super-tender and delicious. It came atop cheesy grits, which was a yummy substitute for a mashed potato. I also was served side salad of curly lettuce and fennel. I probably didn't need more salad, but I was glad to have the healthy side on my plate. I will say that this salad was over-seasoned. The chicken and grits were great, but the salad too salty. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet, which was a very nice find on the wine list, as far as a pairing for his ribeye. That said, the glass cost $30! A bit much, I might say. The real detractor, unfortunately, was dessert. The blueberry cheesecake looked nothing like the beautiful creamy white cheesecake accented throughout by purple blueberries, which I saw on the CBS News clip. My husband was served a very small solid purple slice, overcome with whipped cream dollops. This cheesecake had been uncovered in the fridge too long, with sort of a skin on it. My husband ate almost none of it. My key lime tart was similarly over-adorned with whipped cream, although I had some nice raspberries on top. The tart also seemed overexposed to the cool air, with the thickening of a skin on top. It was a very disappointing way to end a nice meal, and belied the healthy, homemade, craft theme. High points of this experience include the well-crafted and healthy entrees, the fact that we could see the convention center right outside our window (i.e., the location is perfect for pre-event or -theater), the $3.00 validated parking fee, and that beautiful copper tap system. Will the pros outweigh the cons? Will we be back with friends? Time will tell.

Laid back vibe and welcoming staff. Nothing pretentious at all. The bartenders were knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. Always stayed on top of my drinks. The thing I like most about Death & Co is the way the categorize their drinks: Light and playful, bright and confident, elegant and timeless, boozy and honest, and rich and comforting. I had the aqua profunda (cognac, St. George basil eau di vie, lillet rose, strawberry, lime, and absinthe). I also had the eight limb daiquiri (rum, Canada aguardiente, Thai tea cordial, lime leaf, and Maraschino). The Blood Oath (mezcal, Vecchio del capo, Calabrian chili amaro, St. Germain Elderflower, lavender, honey, lemon). All were complex and delicious. You could pick out every flavor, yet everything melded together so well. They also have some basic bar food and snacks, but somewhat elevated. I had the D&C Burger and it was juicy, rich, and had some great accompanying fries. I usually try to give a more in depth idea of cocktails available, but Death & Co has such a diverse menu with so many amazing craft cocktails that I can't offer that this time . . . you'll have to go in and see it for yourself!
