If you're looking for good food and cheap drinks, My Brother Bar is the place to go. I just moved to the Platte Street area and my goal has been to try new places a couple times a month. I've heard good things about this place. They are mainly known for their burgers. And they did not disappoint! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came on a Friday night and they are open till late which is great for a late night dinner and drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The place was moderately busy but we got sat immediately. They have a popcorn machine in the restaurant - I asked our server about it and she brought us over a serving! So ask for popcorn if that's of interest to you! I got the classic cheeseburger and it was delicious. A solid burger and you can add your toppings. They bring you over a box that contains some condiments, pickles, onions, relish and peppers. A great touch! Fries are also solid. Service was good and quick which I appreciated. I definitely will be back when I'm craving a good juicy burger :)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall a cool vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We shared a burger and fries / onion rings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was busy at 2 pm on a Saturday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Love the history and food was great. Our bartender was locked in and working hard. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It could use a deep clean thou![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My Brother's Bar is still killing it. Our latest visit was on a Sunday - something they haven't always done, I hear. We stopped in for brunch - served until 2 pm and all ordered from their limited breakfast menu. Not mad about it. My breakfast sandwich on an English muffin with bacon was scrumptious and my partner was quite happy with his massive breakfast burrito. If you know MBB, you know their drinks never disappoint. Today was no different. Their wait staff is great and on Sundays during the day, they give every kiddo a ballon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So cool to see families dining in and enjoying the patio, the bar and dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As always, we'll be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a small cocktail bar with very limited seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bartenders are very attentive and curate a beautiful cocktail experience. Cocktail can be a little expensive which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 as $20+ for one drink is steep but a nice treat every once in a while

I had been to this place one other time...a work function. Years ago. I had to make the return trip because it continues to pop up on all of the best burger lists I read (which I do a LOT), and my work thing was just a buffet thing (still good though), without the burger. Anyway, my wife and I went with my intentions fully on the burger. First of all, service. Miguel greeted us as our bartender and gave us perfect service throughout our visit. There is an art to being there whenever you need something without being intrusive, and that is what he did. Thanks, Miguel, you elevated our experience. I had the Fremont Lush IPA, which I know well and glad that they had, and my wife had a very solid Bloody Mary. And she is picky. We both loved out burgers. I asked about the one go-to, and he said the JCB. I got it double style, with bacon and swiss. Loved it. It goes on my list of best burgers personally, and I will definitely be back for it. We each got a side of fries, and we probably over-ordered on that-our bad. The Cajun aioli to dip them in was fantastic. I hope their kitchen creates a house-made hot sauce before I come again. Let's talk about the presentation. Loved that also. Some might be hesitant about a burger still in paper wrapping, but that made it genuine, basic, and wholesome. The rest of the presentation was ridiculously awesome too. You get a whole cart of pepperoncini, relish, pickles, and onions. Awesome. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We also loved the vibe of the place. Sort of dive-y, and you could also call it...cozy, I guess. Right up our alley, but you do you[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The quality of our burger, the exceptional service by Miguel, and the side presentation for the burger earns this place an easy 5 in my book. I highly recommend, and see you there...

Obsessssed with this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I came here with a friend when I was in town and I absolutely loved the vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It had a laid back pub vibe but great cocktails and the burger was chefs kiss.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Greasy, delicious, cheesy, and exactly what I wanted. The onion rings were fresh and crispy, and all of the condiments came in a little tray to serve yourself. Martini was dry and cold, I would definitely return!

On our last day in Denver, a couple of hours before we needed to head to the airport, hubs asked me to find the oldest bar in town. My Brother's Bar was at the top of several lists I found online, and not far from where we were downtown. So we decided to go. As it was mid-day on a Monday, parking in their lot was easy. We initially sat outside in their cute patio area, but then decided to find a table inside to soak up the "oldest bar" atmosphere. We made a great decision to move, but don't snooze on the patio if that's more your vibe. Even though I'm not normally a burger gal, My Brother's Bar seems to be known for a solid classic burger so that's what I ordered. I was amused & delighted with the caddy of toppings & condiments that was brought to our table. And that burger was delicious! Hubs ordered chili & onion rings, and enjoyed both. I really loved our visit to My Brother's Bar! And I could FEEL the history of this building in my soul. Plus, that burger was simply perfect.

A classic dive bar feel with a limited but proven menu My Brother's bar feels like the classic bar & restaurant combo that existed before the age of fast food and chain restaurants. The food is simple and tasty, it comes out quickly and got with a tray of condiments to allow you to customize your own at the table. The service is wonderful as well. Where My brother's bar loses me as a regular patron is on price. Paying almost $20 per burger is insane. These are not gourmet burgers, while they are tasty they are diner style burgers. I know it is downtown and they have limited seating, but it seems like a reach to charge this much for what it is.

Had a burger craving and this was pretty close to where we were earlier in the evening so we came by. I also didn't remember we'd been here (and sat outside) a few years back before we moved to Denver. Weird memory, but my google history confirmed. We waited in line for a few minutes since it was a busy Saturday and there was an outdoor event going on next door at REI. It was just two of us so we ended up getting seated quickly after that. I ordered the regular burger (tomato + lettuce are $1 extra, fries or sides are extra) which was $10. I guess reasonable? Though I think charging extra for a slice of lettuce and tomato is a little weird. My husband and I shared a "large" side of fries + onion rings and it was a big enough portion for us, but I would imagine a small would be VERY small as the large was not VERY large. Anyway, burger was pretty good, cooked the way I wanted it. They also bring a little plastic corral kind of contraption to the table which has condiments, including hot peppers, onions, relish, ketchup, etc. Kind of cute? The place def has that old school 'cooked onions' smell which I kind of like. The spot was busy, had that old school divey vibe. Waitress was a little frazzled but service ended up being alright.

If you want a great dive bar and a great burger, don't hesitate. What you see is what you get. It's rugged with quick service and no small talk with bomb food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love this spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's also celebrating it's 150 year which says something about it's longevity! What you see in the photo is the Johnny burger. Fire. Cheers!

My wife and I wandered into My Brother' Bar to get lunch on Saturday. We had read the burgers were terrific. My wife ordered the Johnny and I had a cheeseburger. The burger was juicy and cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and helpful. The staff all seemed as though they liked working here. It is certainly worth stopping by a Denver Landmark.

We stopped by for lunch on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. The BLT was amazing and so was the bison burger. Staff was great and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the outdoor seating area was perfect on a day like today.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

And yes, some of them are literally on fire, which feels appropriate given the name. Also, I don't know who was in charge of the decor, but they clearly weren't afraid to commit to a theme. I'll just say there are some very noticeable decorative choices throughout the space that gave our table plenty to laugh about. If you're looking for a standard cocktail bar, this isn't it. I won't completely spoil it for people who want the fun of the hunt, but I'll leave a few hints at the bottom. The drink special that night - their version of an Old Fashioned - was excellent and absolutely worth ordering. The other cocktails are liquor + mixer with the soda or bar gun. I'd go back all day for the special alone. The staff was a little bit of an outlier compared to the rest of the experience. Everyone was nice, but they didn't seem especially engaged, and the attire didn't really match the speakeasy atmosphere.
