Recently stayed at the hotel and stopped at this place for a nightcap. It is a quaint space connected to the Meridian offering a full bar and appetizer menu. The prices are typical for what you would pay downtown however they do have a free pool table patrons are able to use. We were there on a Friday and almost the entire place was empty so it seems to be a very transitional spot for tourists. read more

Go here immediately and order their house G&T, it is SO refreshing and even had elderflower. Ok, I don't really know what elderflower is, but I know I don't like gin and tonics and really liked this one. Their small plates are tasty! (What is that mushroom toast?! Delicious is what. It's on the menu as "champinones asados & ajos, goat cheese, fig sherry syrup"--yum. I love mushrooms and this was delicious.) The staff here are very friendly and nice (and helpful if you're feeling indecisive.) If you're feeling especially lazy, your seating has a little button to call staff (I didn't use it. Adorable little gem we stumbled upon after we couldn't find any seating at 54thirty! Bar AC is a small cozy lounge/bar with cute and cozy seating next to a petite bar. It features Spanish wines and tapas in a relaxed but trendy ambience. We stopped by for a glass of wine and some tapas, and got some emails and other work done too! My favorite type of work/study environment. The white wines we tried were tasty, and the tomato and olive oil toast (thicker tomato topping than traditional pan con tomato found in Spain) with prosciutto was the perfect little snack. I'm a bit lost as to how this place has a perfect review record. This was our second time going here and it was exactly like the first time. Their motto seems to be, "There's no service, like no service". The space is great, like a fancy living room. Only it looks like a full blown party happened, and no has cleaned up yet. Every single table, and even the bar, was covered in glassware. The first time we went in, was following GABF. I thought perhaps it was a hot mess due to that. This place is small, so perhaps they are actually serving the whole effing hotel to explain how seemingly busy they always are? We had to order at the bar both times, despite their having a seemingly awesome and convenient "ring bell for service" system. The second time we went in, it was maybe half full, and that includes the two dudes playing pool. I had to wait while the two broads at the bar let the bartender know that since they didn't know his name (because you can't ask these things?) they'd make one up for him and ordered some drinks. Alrighty. I got the bar lackey who I feel fairly certain had no idea what wines were on the menu as the first one I ordered he said they didn't have. It was a white. So I tried another one, also a white, and saw him grabbing some rando red bottle which he promptly broke the cork off... My hubs beer was half foam, from a can pour... but fortunately the main bartender instructed him to get another can and just let my husband pour it. Good job? I was appalled at the lack of bussing. It looked awful and the staff literately looked like they couldn't care less. I was originally trying to go to the rooftop bar at this hotel, unfortunately because of the weather they were closed. Making the way that we did, we found this convenient, cute bar that is Spain themed with gin cocktails and snacks. The bartender was very helpful as we could not decide which drinks to get. With the Yelp check-in we got discounted for our food! we also came during happy hour, so the drinks were dirt cheap. They were pretty delicious! I would not know about places like this if it were not for Yelp, but this hidden gem is located right in the east entrance to the AC Hotel, and servers up delicious takes on classic cocktails. I tried both their gin & tonic and their sangria - both terrific. Great fireside seating, and a stones throw from DCPA makes this a great pre-show spot. read more

This bar is the best part of my lovely stay at the AC Hotel Denver! Bartenders Aaron and Erick make great cocktails and take care of customers. The vibe is intimate and relaxed, with a Spanish theme -- tapas style and Spanish wines. There's also a focus on gin, with over 30 varieties I counted and house tonics. Happy hour is 7 days a week! Because I live on a meat-n-cocktails diet, I especially loved the bacon wrapped dates and old-fashioneds made with the local Laws bourbon. Jalin was an excellent bartender and very attentive despite the fact we kind of barged in one minute past 4pm. He was personable and helpful, and we very much enjoyed our time there. The calamari was a bit overdone and marinara bland (Food Director, have you tried this lately?), but the olives, almonds, and meatballs were all outstanding.
