The Lobbyist is located in the Le Meridien lobby near Corrine's and what makes the Lobbyist so special is Mike. He is a kite in a hurricane, spinning, twisting, a full force of a barista. He's got excellent people skills and and even has regulars. We chatted while he made my Latte with an additional shot and almond milk and it dawned on me that sometimes we get very lucky to meet people who genuinely love what they do and Mike loves making coffee and chatting with people. I can't speak for the Lobbyist during other hours or for adult beverages but that morning before heading off to walk the entire floor of the Colorado Convention Center, I needed as much caffeine as possible to make it through the day. Not only did the latte do the trick but Mike's infectious positive attitude and great vibes gave me a little extra boost. read more

The Lobbyist is a textbook example of the reimagined, upscale hotel bar. Located inside Downtown's Le Meridien Hotel, this tiny bar sitting outside of Corinne delivers fantastic cocktails with admirable service. You'll never find more than one or two bartenders behind the stick due to its size, which means on a busy Friday night there's a chance you might wait a few minutes for a drink. In my eyes, the wait is completely worth it. An expertly crafted Sazerac is my love language. The key to my heart, if you will. New Orleans signature cocktail seems to have gotten lost over time, so when I see its name in lights on a cocktail menu my ears perk up. The finished product is a slow sipper sure to satisfy any stiff-drink-connoisseur. Odds of you finding a seat at the bar are slim (there are only a handful), but Le Meridien's incredibly comfortable and swanky lobby (hence the name) elevates the bar experience. Drinks!! I've been here on all my trips. Mainly because I was always waiting to go up to 54thirty. There's always a wait to go up. This last trip, I gave up and had a drink in the lobby. And for January,2021 it is VERY busy indoor. It's cold outside, no outdoor seating for sure. Lobby is gorgeous so I get it. The bartender was very friendly. He was furloughed till now, Jan, 2021!! Crazy. I had a city scape: mainly because it was beautiful to look at. The flavor was a ok. We also had a bourbon drink. Not bad! Nice little place and it was across from my hotel. After doing some work in the lobby, I opted to stop by the Lobbyist Bar for a drink (hey, I traveled and worked almost all day) and I needed a drink. I looked at the bar and it was very pretty (updated, nice lighting). I ordered my usual (if you know me, my usual is a lemon drop martini with a sugar rim). The bartender was super nice and made me cocktail to my liking, and gave me a glass of water. He suggested that if you're not from here to make sure to hydrate, so i took his advice and started gulping water. I checked my bill and it was a little over $12.00 for a martini. Is that shocking? No, you're downtown, so it's to be expected. Was it good? Yes, yes it was. It was delicious: sweet and tart. Just what I needed. I loved the fact that this bar is located in the Le Meredian's lobby, but you can either have your drink at the bar or sit near their glass fireplace. We sat at this bar for no more than 20 minutes while waiting for our chance to get up to 54thirty the rooftop. We ordered 2 manhattans. They were good. The bartenders were attentive and asked us if we were waiting to go upstairs, the drinks were poured immediately as they were sensitive to our timeline. There was a server who was taking drink orders who were sitting in the lounge. It's a great place to hang out and get a few quality drinks. read more

I make a stop every time I'm in Denver. They have introduced me to a new bourbon. The old fashions here are so good!

I'll start by saying they were speedy to serve us when the adjoining restaurant, Corinne, couldn't. We had 2 yummy Wagyu burgers and 2 Caesar salads. Unfortunately, on each plate of fries, diners discovered hair - seriously. When we paid at the bar (because no one checked on tables), we mentioned it to those taking our money and they apologized but had to call a hotel manager to do anything about it - which they said could be 30 minutes. I'm only rating the breakfast foods they have here. $9 for 3 halves of deviled eggs. I couldn't even get 2 full eggs. The avocado toast is $13 and I added bacon for $3 and it's literally tiny pieces on bacon on top. It's not that great. Save your money and go elsewhere for breakfast. read more

On Saturday August 28th around 5pm we came and sat at this bar for a pre cocktail while we waited to go up to the roof top bar. The roof top bar was amazing! Chelsea our server up there was attentive and awesome. Visiting from Las Vegas everyone here is super friendly! Yet this review is ONLY FOR the Lobbyist bar on the first floor. Didn't catch the bartenders name at the lobbyist bar. Blonde girl. Rude as hell!!! Literally we sat down said hi! And she goes what do you want. Starts shaking the drinks as loud as she can. people behind us she told "go over to the service well if you want a drink" with an eye roll. No joke, every customer here was totally off put by her attitude. I would never recommend her being your bartender: if you hate your job, why stay? Like seriously, you were the worst service person we had in downtown Denver. Everything else about this hotel/bar/roof top was great. She made a good drink, but her attitude made it taste like crap. read more

The atmosphere is why I'm giving this place 5 stars. Also not to mention Steve is a FANTASTIC bar keep who knows what's good. Makes a crazy French 75. We were in town for Outdoor Retailer. Great hotel with a very fun chill vibe. Hung out on the rooftop and the Lobbyist. Whitney was great and made us some special off menu cocktails that were delicious! Had a lot of fun hanging out at her bar and talking. We will definitely stay at Le Meridien next OR! read more

Terrible customer service. This bar is apart of the hotel I'm currently staying at, le Méridien & for the 3 days I've been staying here I've come down every morning for a latte, and not once was I greeted. Wasn't very busy but took the server 5 minutes to ask what I wanted. When I asked for some creamer the server look at me and rolled her eyes like it was such an inconvenience. I spend a lot of time on the road and stay at more hotels than I would like to admit and a good hotel bar can make all the difference. This is a great spot - honestly one I would hit up if I lived in Denver - the bartenders are great (shoutout to Whitney - I will literally choose to come to the bar for a night if I see her there) and with live music on certain nights it really goes from being a great hotel bar to being honestly just a great bar. read more
