Castlemago cheesecake with lavender honey and toasted hazelnuts Torta di Formaggio Torta di Formaggio

Deserving of a Michelin guide mention Was staying nearby at Cherry Creek and of course I open the Michelin app and this was the only noted restaurant of any calibre nearby with a 17 minute walk from the mall It is deserving of its mention. It's not worthy of a star as it doesn't blow you away. But it stays in its lane with northern Italian food and they do it well. Entering dining room it is appropriately decorated for a casual fine dining establishment. Staff are clearly well trained and they treat and attend to you with the manner and class that is expected at this calibre. Food was solid with no disappointments. I choose the reasonably priced degustation menu where I got to choose 1 dish from each of the 4 sections. Since it's my first time there I asked for the restaurant's signature dishes: Vitello tonato - Shaved veal tenderloin with tuna sauce. It's a northern Italy delicacy - delicious and delicate. This is a common dish throughout northern Italy and their take is delicious. Good flavour profile Risotto a mais: 8 year old risotto with grilled sweet corn, salsa verse and popcorn - Deliciously cheesy and creamy with a bit of crunch from the popcorn. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. If you like creamy and cheesy, you will want this. Barolo style duck breast - Classic confit style duck breast with a heavy wine based reduction and a generous portion of seasonal vegetables and perfectly crisped cubed potatoes with a mashed center. This will fill you if you aren't full already. Castlemago cheesecake with lavender honey and toasted hazelnuts - not too sweet but a nice complexity of flavour. Subtle but delicious and excellent elevated finish. Special mention goes to the rosemary dinner bread. Strong rosemary flavour and well made with extra virgin olive oil. I had 2. Portions were large. I asked and they told me the tasting menu portions are generally smaller than the a la carte choices if one decides to go that route. But trust me, it's filling. Well done and solid. I will be back if in the area.

We had an amazing family dinner at Barolo Grill! The service, food and ambiance were top notch! Personally I had the gnocchi. It was very good and had several different flavors that I wasn't expecting. It was very flavorful and I'd recommend it in the future We also had the peach dessert that was so good! We had the family of three share it. Great time and experience at Barolo Grill!

As much as I care about the overall growth of the very city I have resided in for almost 3 decades, taking a break or interruption in the continuity of my life by not visiting a specific business or restaurant (to be precise) makes me feel like I am an ungrateful person. This statement so applies to Barolo Grill, that has been around as long as I can remember going back to early 2000's. I worked in Cherry Creek on 1st Avenue and Garfield years back. My boss/coworkers and I would go here for a glass of wine with a light dish as this place was a go-to place for one of them. And just yesterday, not visiting this place for 20+ years, I finally break that hiatus or cycle to appreciate this place that mainly features the cuisine of two of the well-known regions in Italy: Piedmont and Tuscany. And the experience? Simply words cannot describe it but I will do my best to elaborate on it. Made a reservation for two at the bar (it's nice that you can reserve bar seatings at this place; usually, for any/all reservations you make at (typical) restaurants, they only apply to tables) a few to several days in advance. This was a great idea and a must thing to do (for everyone) because on a day like Wednesday where you think simply walking in would do, the restaurant was filled with people along with a large group of people for a party on the east side of the restaurant. We walked in around 5:40pm for our 5:45pm restaurant where it was at least 50-60 full, this landscape soon changed. By the peak time of 6:30pm, it was at its full capacity at 100%. The menus for the food and the drinks are elegant. Good size and yet they are not massive to where you will not get confused with any of the items on them. For beer drinkers (like my guy), they only serve canned ones (so no beer handles) but he was able to find something that would suit his palate (and our wonderful waitstaff/bartender poured the beer into a chilled/beautiful wine glass for him to consume; elegant presentation to say the least.) I went with the super Tuscan Rosso di Orma 2021, very round red wine that consists of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese that gives a little bit of leathery taste. My kind of wine for sure. We started out our dinner with Insalata Primavera, a light and yet well-balanced salad. Good size for two people. This salad is an indication of what a good salad served at a fine restaurant is all about. Lightly seasoned but not bland. I have stated in many of my past reviews this but there have been increasing numbers of restaurants where they serve overly salted salads. Barolo's kind consideration of "seasoning it right" was tasted in this refreshing summer salad to say the least. Let's not forget to mention. Before our salad arrived, there was a male worker walking around the restaurant with a stainless basket full of complimentary rolls. He eventually came to us and gave us each a roll to enjoy. These rosemary seasoned rolls with a generous amount of butter including in the ingredients does not require anything like olive oil with balsamic vinegar or extra side butter. He later came back during our consumption of the dinner plates to give us one more. And had we asked for more, I am sure he would have given us more. Our first main (which we shared) was Tortellini di acciughe. The portion was a bit small for the price and yet overall, the mascarpone and the anchovy filled tortellini pasta with lemon zest was light and pleasant. Since this dish is not heavy, it will leave a good room in your stomach so that you can go for another dish to finish off your dining. And that is exactly what we did. He picked the risotto (Risotto ai piselli). In this dish, all the ingredients are synchronized harmoniously to create the perfect texture with perfect al dente-ness. The magic ingredient (if I go ahead and pick one) would be the robiola cheese that is 50% melted in the warm rice. When our waitress/bartender asked us how we liked the dish, I used three simply words to describe it: "To die for". We are not really big dessert people (hence we skipped this part but maybe next time.) 20+ years of hiatus was simply too long to miss out on this restaurant that has shaped the Denver's restaurant scene. I am glad that I was able to experience it for the first time in two+ decades. My appreciation for Barolo has deepened. I thus thank you for your existence.

First visit in 7 months. I was surprised they had a full house at 630pm on a Wednesday. My OpenTable reservation was for 7pm. I got an Aperol Spritz and waited. I was seated by the fireplace and my server, Brooke introduced herself. No significant changes to the menu. They still have the $95 Tasting menu with smaller portions. But I wanted the full experience. My four courses came to $110. I opted for the upgraded wine pairings for each course for $95. A fresh rosemary roll arrived. Always good. First was the Parmagiano-Reggiano Souffle with braised cipollini onions. The upgraded wine pairing was the 2023 'I Sistri' Felsina Chardonnay. A crisp white wine. Next was the Risotto ai Funghi using 7yr aged acquerello rice with sautéed seasonal mushrooms. A large amount of risotto. My wine was a new D.O.C. from Italy, 2019 Nizza 'Pomorosso' Coppo. This is a red wine grown in a very small section of Tuscany with aspects of sangiovese. My meat course was the Anatra di Barolo. This was a large piece of duck with a barolo-style sauce with vegetables, roasted garlic potatoes and kalamata olives. The wine was a truly wonderful 2016 Ricossa Barolo Riserva. My dessert was a creative rendering of a carrot cake with sage gelato on top and a neat pour of 2018 Badia de Morrona Vin Santo. Vin Santo is a fortified wine. This is a typical after dinner drink in Italy. Even though I don't come very often, I got a complimentary pour of their house-made Limoncello. The food choices were presented with plenty of time between courses. Brooke brought out the wine pairings each time before the food. I never felt rushed. I chose to tip $50 for the attentive service by Brooke and other staff. I spoke with both Erin Lindstrom, their Sommelier and the owner, Ryan Fletter. I made a future reservation for April.

I asked a foodie couple for recommendations for the better restaurants in Denver and Barolo was on the top of their list. I see why the food, service and decor are top notch. This restaurant has stood the test of time and has gained recognition recently from Michelin, Wine Spectator and others. Authentic Northern Italian cuisine with an impressive wine list make this a place I will be coming back to. The menu changes with the season and everything is fresh, prepared with knowledge and passion and presented beautifully. Our server was exceptional, she knew the menu, how it was prepared and what wines paired well. The menu is set up as a traditional 4 course prix fixe, but feel free to order ala carte. The beet and grapefruit salad was light, refreshing and tasty. The braised duck fell off the bone, and was rich, earthy and filling, served with roasted vegetables. Numerous Italian wines are available by the glass or as an optional wine pairing with the meal. Or you can choose to examine the multipage wine selection from their vast cellar. Warm, decor, relatively quiet environment and with the fresh table linens, this is an elegant choice for a nice meal out.

Always outstanding. Great food, awesome wine program and friendly, yet professional service. Had Soufflé di Macaroni with a glass of Friulano and Tagliatelle al sugo d'arrosto with a glass of Nebbiolo. Could not have been better!

Cozy Italian restaurant nested in Cherry creek.. I've passed by this restaurant countless times and have always wanted to dine here- Finally made it! Started with the frito misto - calamari felt fresh. These were essentially sea food fritters and we liked them. Quantity was larger than expected. I got the gnocchi and my husband got the agnello lamb - both tasty and well made. The ultimate dish here was their cheese cake, loved how airy the cake was which tasted incredible with the lavender honey! Service was good and so was the ambiance. Every one was very well dressed which is a rare sight in Denver IYKYK.

Absolutely one of the most fantastic meals I have ever had. Did the tasting menu with an appetizer, prima patties, main course and dessert...95.00 per person. Stunning food and amazing presentations. Please look at the pics Remarkable service in an amazing atmosphere. Been going strong for 33 years. We need to go every few months.

I went to Barolo Grill for dinner with some friends who highly recommended this place. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation time but we got seated right away. For appetizers, we shared Calamari and my date had a Bresaola. Both were fantastic. For entrees, I ordered the Agnolotti with brown butter sauce and my date had the Beef Tenderloin. I was seriously impressed with my agnolotti - the serving size was perfect and the flavors were on point. My date loved his beef tenderloin as well, and he can be really critical with his beef. For dessert, we had Gelato which was delicious (I just wished they didn't put my Gelato into two separate bowls). The ambiance is amazing and the service was excellent. My friends were on point in recommending this restaurant. I would love to visit again when we return to Denver.

Staff -- 5 solid stars. Food -- 3 stars and I'm glad I wasn't paying. Why do I say that? Well, I have reasons, of course. I was part of a group meal. The Super Tuscan red wine reminded me too much of prune juice. I wasn't into it. I asked for a straight cab and that was better. They had a really nice white, thought, and I have to Vivino it! We selected our courses and I dont' recall each name, but the appetizer was the beef, a smoked kind of carpaccio with the most amazing accompaniments. The dish was excellent. And it was only after I shoved it in my face did I realize the smokiness. I took a picture! That dish was great. Next course I was going to go for the risotto (which I'm really picky about the texture on risotto but was gonna go for it and they did say it was yet another "signature dish") however my server said get the butternut squash pasta (name of the pasta is one I am not familiar with/cannot remember) so I agreed. Sure, it was quite tasty, but for my particular palate I like savory more than sweet. So this dish was way too sweet for me as a dinner entree. I realize this is my preference -- no fault of the restaurant. Next was the duck. I've only had duck in a bougie restaurant once before and it was medium rare. It was excellent. So, that's my bar set. It was braised here (funny thing I like my meat near raw or cooked forever in a braise so thought this would be good, too). The duck though was dry. That is the first thought I had, being fully honest. It was dry. I really didn't eat that much of it (hence me saying early on that I am glad I was not paying for this meal!). Last was dessert. I was looking forward to it since I didn't love the duck. And... it was really crumbly, not very moist, no graham cracker crust. Disappointment for me. A favorite of mine is panna cotta and this thing teases you because it resembles that but it isn't at all. It's barely a cheesecake, either. I also didn't finish it. Sorry, Barolo, I can only be honest and I didn't love the food. The wine was hit and miss. Again... as stated early on, staff was excellent.

I've been to a few Michelin Star restaurants/former Michelin Star restaurants and it's always an experience. Barolo was highly recommended to me by friends (and Yelp!) as a Michelin Star restaurant that doesn't necessarily feel like one, in a good way. I think that description hits the nail on the head. My take was that it had the service and food expected of the distinction but not necessarily the atmosphere and prices associated with it. I was all for it! First off, I need to say Melissa, our waitress, was one of the best waitresses I've ever had the pleasure of dining with. She was very personable, had great recommendations for everything, and was knowledgeable about the entire menu. If you have the pleasure to dine with Melissa as your waitress, you're in for a good time. Now, the food. Wow. Everything we ordered was amazing. You would expect for a former Michelin Star restaurant to have top-notch food and Barolo definitely delivered. I ordered the Agnello (Colorado Lamb) and all I could say was "wow" with every bite. The meat was cooked perfectly and the beet purée and golden beets complimented the meat amazingly. On top of that, the Torta di Formaggio (cheesecake with lavender honey) was the best ending to the meal I could have asked for. It was the closest thing to a perfect cheesecake I ever tasted. Finally, the cocktails we ordered were some of the best I have ever had. I know this all sounds like I may be over exaggerating but try it out for yourselves! I cannot wait for my next experience at Barolo Grill!

grilled beef tenderloin with crispy polenta, roasted hen-of-the-woods mushroom, balsamic-braised cipollini onion, truffle demi-glace

Service was impeccable. We were seated in front of the fireplace which was lovely on a cold, winter day. We started with a glass of brut rose which was delicious. We then split the Radish Salad, Gnocchi with crab, and Beef tenderloin (with a glass of red wine, of course). This particular beef presentation has been my favorite from all the times I have ordered it over the years here (grilled beef tenderloin, crispy polenta, roasted hen-of-the-woods mushroom, balsamic-braised cipollini onion, truffle demi-glace) -- it melted in your mouth. Lastly, their crème brule is the best in the city so of course we had to split that delicious ending to the meal. All in all - fabulous experience, fabulous service, fabulous food. Highly recommend.

We were there with a three year old and a five year old no problems. Of course these were my grandchildren and they are perfect.

Is there a menu with prices or are the prices a ~*secret*~ because they're classist and only want rich people to come?

They have prices! Maybe during Covid set menu. It's expensive.. but you can see what your buying .

Is the valet parking still complementary?

yes the valet is complimentary. I would use it if i were you. It makes it much easier and is very convenient just pull right up front

The Yellowtail Jalapeño is a signature dish; the yellowtail was delicate & buttery and the citrus soy with the bight of jalapeño made each bite clean, bright, with some subtle heat. I did not expect the Rock Shrimp Tempura to be that good! The shrimp was lightly battered & fried but the sauces were the highlights! Their creamy spicy is a very well-done spicy mayo but the butter ponzu was unreal! Super addictive, rich, and unlike any sauce I've had before. Shout out to my waitress for suggesting getting both sauces on the side rather than lathered on the shrimp, which also kept it crispy. Last but certainly not least is the famous Black Cod! The fish is super buttery and flaky; there were some caramelized edges from the miso glaze which added so much depth & richness to the bite. It's a good balance of sweetness, savoriness, umami that is bound to be good. All in all, so grateful I got to try what many call an institution and will certainly try more of chef Nobu's restaurants.

The nigiri and sashimi plates were the clear standouts -- incredibly fresh and flavorful. The foie gras was good, but didn't feel especially memorable compared to the rest of the menu. I didn't see the final bill, but this is definitely a special-occasion type spot, and I'm not sure I'd personally splurge at that price point. That said, the service was unbelievable -- attentive, polished, and made the entire experience feel elevated. Overall, an excellent dining experience with top-tier service.
