Not any difference if you just boil chicken breast by itself. Everything was really pricey for no reason. Sure it was a good size? But if you compare it to restaurants located in downtown, a similar dish is at least 8-10$ cheaper. $14 for a basket of shoes string fries, $41 for roasted chicken and $43 for steak? On par with coors field at least. I have been here twice, its so good. Both times I have had the ever attentive, Rachel. Our table never wanted for water. She was generous with her recommendations and she was ALWAYS right. Both nights I got the pate (but they had different compote mustards; one with apricot and last night with the cherry mostarda---both amazing). Last night we got the mussels in white wine--messy, but delicious with a hint of curry. The mussels were perfectly cooked and plump! Shrimp linguini for both nights because it was that good. A crunch with the fennell and herby dill. Don't be shy to ask more of their delicious sour dough too! We cleaned our pate serving of the bread and asked for more (grilled of course) for the mussels' sauce AND the shrimp linguini. Potato caviar, honestly, I could have just eaten them separate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere here is one of the main components that lured my husband and I in. We loved the little covered patio with folded doors and string lights! It was great to have the blankets and the ambiance of the patio was amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, the food is the one thing that won't bring us back to this place. We started with the caviar potato and mussels, both were great! We really enjoyed the mussels as they were cooked perfectly. For the entree, we decided to share the steak frites. On the menu, the steak frites was listed as MP (market price), typically ranging from $40-$75 depending on cut and source in our life-long experience as generational ranchers. When we received the 16oz ribeye, it was so filled with tendon and fat that you couldn't eat half of the steak. We were constantly chewing and spitting out pieces that weren't edible. The sauce on the steak was a mustardy Dijon that was meh at best. We decided already that this was not something we would order again. Then, when the bill came, turns out, the steak was $99. We were baffled and SO disappointed since half of the steak we couldn't even eat. We have never paid that much for a steak and have been to much nicer places where the steak is of greater quality. Needless to say, our experience here was not what we had hoped for and we have chosen to not be return customers, which is sad since we fell in love with the ambiance. A return visit to Annette, where I was lucky enough to listen to and understand, Chef Glover's focus --- Fresh, local ingredients, fire roasted or grilled. Cook things that grow together, like beans, corn and tomatoes. She is a master. The fresh garden salad over a summer tart was a beautiful way to start. The calamari and linguini, divine. The pork chop was a bit underdone imho, but tender, from being marinated for 24 hours. Dessert was stone fruit, fire roasted and then topped with a sherry reduction and a very little amount of sugar. We have been hearing a lot of good things about Annette's for too long and finally decided to try it for ourselves. We also had the butter lettuce and tarragon which was very good 8/10. For our first appetizer we had the sea island red peas and cauliflower, very good, loved the cauliflower 8.3/10. We also had the burger and fries from the happy hour menu. The burger was cooked well, 8/10, a little too much sauce but homemade ketchup and homemade bun, it's hard to go wrong. If anything the patty was a little thin, but the fries were great and crispy 8.5/10. For our entrees we had the roasted half chicken 7/10. The sauce was just alright and the first piece of chicken was a little dry but the rest of the slices were very good. We also had the pork tenderloin tournedos, pretty straight forward, great prunes and potatoes 7.5/10, the sauce made the dish. Nothing caught our eye for dessert, however we were pretty full and there are a lot of great dessert options at Stanley Marketplace. They have a couple new items on the menu this winter which we decided to give it a try: fading ember: it was a bit on the more bitter side at the start of the drink but mellowed out towards the end. the basil and thai bitters was an interesting take, not exactly sure what they were going for. not bad but also not my favorite drink there espresso martini: need I say more? that's physics, baby: easy to drink collins cocktail. nicely balanced tart and fruity. On a rare outing to the Northeast side of Denver, we decided to eat here for happy hour/dinner. First of all, the service is impeccable. Attentive, but not invasive. Thoughtful but not arrogant. Whoever is training these people is doing it right. Secondly, the food is delicious! We opted to share the burger and fries ($20 on happy hour), deviled eggs ($5 for 2 on HH), the broccolini ($17) and house made pasta. Everything was wonderful! The pasta with mushrooms and lemon was just marvelous- well prepared and perfectly cooked and sang of spring. The broccolini was incredible. I thought an english muffin instead of a bun on the burger was strange, but it totally wasn't. It's made in house and is so delicious. I need to learn how to make english muffins for this very purpose! I felt the fries could have used a bit more salt/seasoning. The eggs were great, but I wouldn't get them again. I paired it all with a fantastic tempranillo on happy hour. My little had the pasta off the kids menu, which she loved, but I found a bit too al dente. She ordered the house made lemonade, which she declared tasty, but it was $5 for basically a shot of lemonade (see picture). A definite "MUST VISIT" if you're in the area... I opted to sit at the bar and the bartender, as well as various other staff did a great job keeping my needs met and my taste buds happy. If you go on a Tuesday, it's happy hour all night, so they have nice deals that are available throughout dinner service. They have a nice menu, filled with something for everyone and all items are shareable... Most are actually available in half portions too, which was great for me as a solo diner. I started with their deviled egg which was excellent and basic. Nothing fancy or crazy, just a very nicely seasoned yolk (filling) which tasted great. Next up was a half order of their Butter Lettuce and Tarragon salad. What an interesting and fun compliment for them to add a sunflower seed brittle to this salad! It offered a nice texture as well as a sweet bite that complimented the tarragon very nicely. This was such a perfectly dressed and plated salad that! Dinner course consisted of their orecchiette and since it featured Calabrian chilis, I asked for extra of those be included in the preparation. The half order looked small, but I couldn't finish it all. Definitely filling and packed with flavor. A slight bitterness from the lemon preserve and a nice heat from the Calabrian chili. Save room for dessert... They have several that looked amazing! My final course was simply a single profiterole and a scoop of their strawberry lime sorbet (separately, of course!). The profiterole featured a bay leaf ice cream inside it and homemade salted caramel on top. I'm not normally appreciative of caramel, but this was so good, I licked the spoon to get it all! The pastry dough was the best profiterole I've ever had! The combo of everything in a single bite was dreamy! Switching to the sorbet - Really Really Good! From start to finish this meal was excellent! The restaurant has a super cute look and the service was team style and great throughout. We started with deviled eggs and the tarragon salad and even though they were starters and on the lighter side, they were each very good! For entrees we shared the seasonal cod schnitzel and the beef tongue w/ bone marrow toast. The cod schnitzel was super thin, flaky, and crunchy without having too much batter. The slaw and tartar sauce it came with were also very tasty. I'd never had bone marrow or beef tongue before and I was a fan of both! The bone marrow toast was fatty and savory in the best way and the beef tongue was suuuuper tender and reminded me almost of braised short ribs. Dessert was EPIC. The pecan pie had such a nice saltiness to it that created one of the most balanced flavor profiles of a piece of pecan pie I've ever had. I don't even think I can put the Paris-brest into words, but I'm going to try. The pistachio and chocolate ganache were so incredibly light and fluffy, almost whipped in texture and the flavors of each were spot on. They came out one by one in that order. Everything was absolutely so delicious. The sauce with the chicken was savory and the chicken itself was moist. There was so much chicken that we had to bring about half of it home. The malfadine was probably one of my favorite dishes though. So creamy and flavorful, and I just love mushrooms. Wonderful food and service. We started with the beef tongue and bone marrow toast. It was super yummy and our favorite thing. The bone marrow was tender and the bread was perfectly buttery, the finishing salt on the beef was perfect. The chicken was yummy but way too big of a portion for two people especially if you to eat other dishes. The chicken sauce was delicious and the cabbage was perfect. I found certain sections of the breast to be about 30 seconds over and slightly dry. The leg I had was perfect. We also tried the Sun choke gratin. It was good but lacked a bit of flavor and was a bit too mushy. We had the Paris Brest and ice cream sandwich for dessert. The Paris Brest had a very light pastry. The cream was good but super filling. The ice cream sandwich was delicious. Loved the ice cream and the cookie. We tried 4 cocktails and the Chardonnay. The Annette martini and the espresso martini were both crazy good. Loved them both and the Annette martini wasn't too dry and bitter and actually had some smooth notes which I did appreciate although you can't go wrong with a dry and bitter forward one too. Our server Taryn (I think I spelled their name right) was very kind and awesome! The restaurant is very cozy, and nicely decorated. We also enjoyed the fact that we could watch the restaurant staff sending out orders. Everything from drinks to food was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, they were out of both the pecan pie and Paris-Brest. The ice cream flight was a decent substitute, but obviously not the same as pie or a dulce de leche and peach dessert. The portions are definitely small, even for the "larger" dishes like the steak frites (lots of fries, not tons of steak) The biggest issue was the amount of time between all the courses. One of my adorable sons wanted to surprise me and my husband with dinner here, especially because it's also my name. The verdict is in. I had never been to Annette, although I've been to Stanley Marketplace many times and I've even peeked in at the restaurant on a few occasions. The menu somehow seemed a little off-putting to me. My friend had the same reaction. Wow, what a misapprehension. Fortunately, we persevered. The focus of the menu is on shared plates. We managed to put a meal together with a lot of help from Lexi who was very kind and extremely knowledgeable. This was a transcendent experience. Every item was beautifully presented, gorgeous and very creative. Most importantly the food was fabulous, perfectly prepared and with a simple, but intense, combination of flavors. We thought every morsel was fantastic. We started with the deviled eggs (actually, egg). This is a small starter of one egg, so we each received a half to whet our appetites. These were tasty. They were cleverly "cemented" to the plate with a bit of the yolk mixture to keep them from flying around. Then we shared the delicious butter lettuce and tarragon salad with pickled shallots, roasted sunflower seeds, and a riccota dressing. The serving was generous. I really enjoyed the dressing. The pork tonnato was a new addition to the menu. It was apparently very popular. We arrived quite early, but the kitchen was already down to the last serving. We savored our luck as the combination of thinly-sliced pork and chunks of intensely flavorful tuna in a rich sauce was wonderful. Our final course was the whole roasted fish with salsa verde, braising greens, and Calabrian chili. The fresh fish was one of our favorites, European seabass. The presentation was spectacular. The hostess came by to expertly filet the dish and we dug in. Despite the wonders of the previous courses, this was the highlight of the meal. Very, very flavorful and delicious. We both agreed this was a superb experience. The knowledgeable and unobtrusive staff was another plus. The interior space is relatively small with a very high ceiling and was a bit noisy. There's also a small bar with seating, a good-sized enclosed patio, a yurt that can seat 16, and some "greenhouses" left over from the pandemic. Annette is one of the best dining experiences in Denver and is definitely worth a visit. read more

Wow. Annette is amazing! Dining at Annette is perfect and happy. Great wine selection, amazing tasty food, super cozy, romantic ambiance. I like the lighting, the cleanliness. and decors of the restaurant. The service is stellar. There are both indoor and outdoor seatings. You must plan ahead and book a reservation as this place is very popular. You must stop for a wonderful dinning experience. Who knows that there's such an amazing spot in Aurora. made a reservation for 2 at 6:30 pm on a Saturday. We were seated a little later but the staff was incredibly friendly. The waiter had great recommendations and guided us through the menu. My favorite my the beef tongue and pasta! Radicchio salad was very anchovy forward which was yummy and briny. The sunchoke gratin was just ok, I probably would not order again. my Annette martini was good but nothing amazing. Drinks were priced appropriately. nothing blew me out of the water but everything was good. solid date night spot. The restaurant was smaller on the inside than I thought but not too crowded for a Saturday night ! read more
