I wasn't totally sure what to expect going into Somebody People, but it ended up being one of the best meals I've had in Denver so far. We walked in without reservations and managed to grab one of the last open tables, so I'd definitely recommend booking ahead. The space has a great atmosphere with low lighting, candles on the tables, and that lively dinner buzz that makes a restaurant feel exciting without being overwhelming. Our server, who I think may have also been a manager, was fantastic and brought such a fun energy to the experience. The house focaccia immediately changed my opinion of the place. Honestly the best focaccia I've ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside, salty, flavorful, and good enough to eat completely on its own. The spring greens were light and fresh, and both pasta dishes were excellent with perfectly al dente pasta and great seasoning. I ordered the chimaera alla vodka, but my friend's no waste gnocchi ended up being my favorite bite of the night. We finished with lattes and tiramisu, and somehow the meal kept getting better. The coffee was genuinely better than what you get at a lot of coffee shops, and the tiramisu was light, balanced, and not overly sweet or soggy like it sometimes can be. Incredible! I have wanted to come here for quite some time and it exceeded my expectations. We came for the Monday enoteca, which is a fixed menu. For $35, we got focaccia, salad, a pasta entree, and tiramisu. The bread was soft with a crunchy crust and served with a spinach artichoke spread. The salad was a cabbage salad with a lemony vinaigrette. The pasta I chose was fresh, creamy, and a delight to eat. The tiramisu was probably the best tiramisu I've ever had. The coffee flavor was so bold and the filling was fluffy. The interior was dimly lit and had an eclectic vibe. Great for a date night. Service was attentive and the courses came out quickly. Parking is a bit spotty in the area but they share a small lot in the back. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes. I've heard great things about the Sunday supper. read more

We've been loyal patrons of Somebody People since it first opened, and have always admired its mission, aesthetic, and inclusive menu. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was deeply disappointing. Our server was totally disinterested, with diner vibes. She never inquired about allergies, which is something I had already noted in our reservation and reiterated both upon arrival and when ordering. Despite choosing several dishes marked "gf," there was clear cross-contact, as I became very ill afterward. The food itself was subpar. The focaccia was dry, rock hard and burned, and the esoterra fennel salad arrived in large, unwieldy chunks. Several dishes were unavailable, including the summer squash, and we were surprised to learn they had even sold their ice cream machine. (Note: their menu isn't kid friendly.) The most concerning issue, however, was the apparent disregard for dietary restrictions. I share this not out of spite, but as a caution to others with food sensitivities, and in the hope that Somebody People will take greater care moving forward. read more

If you come with a group of people, it's better to make reservations. I got the gnocchi and corn fritters and it was both delicious. The flavor is really blend it well together. I think I just found my new favorite restaurant! Made a reservation for a Friday night, and ended up sitting at the bar by choice. The restaurant was packed and I was solo, so wanted to leave the tables for bigger parties. The owner was there and was so friendly, really owning the flow of the restaurant and making sure everyone was welcome. The bartender (Kiara) was wonderful. She was so friendly, kind, and excited to be there. She really made the experience a great one. Now for the food. Wow. I love vegan cuisine, and this was no joke. Rarely have I seen a high end vegan restaurant so I was pleasantly surprised to find this place. We made reservations for a Saturday on my partner's 40th birthday and it was packed! We were given complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate which was unexpected and very nice! We opted for the 4 course meal which was $50/person and they even let us switch out one of the dishes for something my partner really wanted to try. Everything was so unique and so delicious and even though a tiramisu was already included with the meal, we got an extra one for celebrating a birthday. They were so generous and we had a perfect time celebrating a special night. It did take some time between courses but maybe that was because of how busy it was. The tables are very close together, which seems to make it difficult for the wait staff. I think they need a larger location because they are so popular. I got the warmed black rice and my husband got the tamari roasted cabbage. We also shared some crispy potatoes. The flavor was out of this world! I tried some of the roasted cabbage and it was just incredible. So smoky, so flavorful. It's so hard to find places that are so thoughtful when it comes to vegetables. As a vegetarian, I often feel like vegetarian/vegan options are an afterthought at many restaurants. My black rice was incredible too. It tasted so fresh, yet filling. I'm usually not a fan of beets, but the way they were prepared made them actually taste good lol. Service was fantastic too, they were very attentive and welcoming. The overall vibe of the place is lovely too, with plants, lovely lighting, comfortable seating, and a cool mural. Our water was constantly refilled, and the attention to detail was impeccable. We were taken care of extremely well!! The food was out of this world. Best arancini I've ever had is underselling it. I would take a bath in that briny "cream" sauce! The Zucca pasta was the dreamiest, creamiest pasta I've ever had with perfectly cooked pasta. Had a kind of odd experience here. Came with a large group and service was very nice and mostly prompt. We had ordered a tasting menu and for some reason the entire service took a looooong time. They just kept bringing out more food and it was more than we could have possibly eaten. I lost track of how many courses there were and felt bad for wasting food. I think my favorite thing from the experience was probably the NA cocktail/drink pairing. That and the absolutely incredible vegan tiramisu. Not sure how they managed it, but hot dang I'd eat that again. I wasn't a huge fan of the food overall, and it's not a vegan thing, some of the choices were just odd. There was some delicious sourdough bread but it was so charred it made it less appealing. The salad was overdressed with a very acidic vinaigrette (you'd think a vegan place could nail a salad?). Pasta was pretty good; wouldn't have known it wasn't made with cheese and butter or whatever. I think the best dish was the roasted broccoli. If I were in Denver and pressed to eat strictly vegan I'd try more of their menu, but I doubt it's the best they've got going on in Denver. read more

The fact this place isn't packed on a Friday night is mind boggling. I made a reservation expecting the worst but when I arrived 1 sweet hungry human at 6:30 pm not only was I promptly seated, but I got to pick my seat at the bar! I asked for the feed me because it seemed like the best way to try a bit of everything within my price range. At $45 I was expecting 3 dishes and maybe some bread... WRONG I GOT 7 DISHES. But let's rewind. I sit down I say hey they say sup I say can I do the feed me as a solo dolo (cringe) they say yes. I say, I hate beets. They say bet. Next thing I know my beet allergy is being conveyed to the kitchen so I get a whole different course. No judgment. No "but you haven't tried OUR beets." Just bet, we got you. I don't know what I liked most. It was all so tasty. The broccoli had a sauce I would call better labneh that I almost licked out of the bowl. The tiramisu made me question my previous prognostication that I disliked tiramisu because soggy lady fingers are not my fave. The team behind the bar made sure I was taken care of and chatted out beverage selections with me. Even gave me a wee taste of the digestif before I went all in. The skinny: Cute unique vegetarian restaurant with solid cocktails, mocktails, and delicious food. Overview: I'm not a vegetarian but this place seemed good enough to give it a shot - and I'm so glad we did! I had a pink cashmere cocktail to start - light refreshing with a twist of peppercorn. For food we had the grilled sourdough that came with a delicious creamy hummus. We also had a mushroom pasta dish that was delicious. My only hesitation is that the menu for both cocktails and food is a bit small. Portions are on the smaller sharables side and can get a bit pricey if you are looking to get full. I came here with some friends who are gluten-free for an early dinner one Saturday. They were thrilled to get some pasta that's celiac-friendly and I enjoyed one of their gnocchi dishes. The ambiance is perfect for a date night and we appreciated the abundance of mocktail items on the menu! But the one frustrating thing? Our server rushed us out of here starting at the 50-minute mark. No joke, they were like, "We need to shift tables now!" and this was not even at the hour of our reservation. We hustled to finish our dessert (which was delicious) because they apparently hadn't planned well enough. The parking was a little confusing, but there's a lot in back and you validate when you get into the restaurant. I started with the beets and bread and I will be back for those. The pasta was good, but not as memorable. I ordered the pasta without the chilis, but they mixed that up and I got my meal much later than the rest of the group. It did take a long time for the meal (over 2 hours) and I had to take my dessert to go as I was running late. They added 20% gratuity for our group. Fabulous food. Some plates are a little spicy, and some are obviously better than others, but overall fabulous food. Bartender Nick is excellent. He knows how to make clients happy and goes above and beyond. The wait staff is cringey...our recent waitress was interjecting in our conversations too much, which was very off putting. She was not very knowledgeable about the menu and asked us to order all at once to make it easier on the kitchen, which was overwhelming and not necessary bc we didn't get all of the food at once. It felt like she was annoyed that we didn't get the "feed me" option. I've had better experiences in the past here, I think she was just inexperienced. Hoping we get a different server next time. He immediately gave us recommendations on what to try, as well as, answered any Qs about the menu. Plus, he was so on top of our water! He was consistently swinging by refilling our glasses and bringing over a freshly filled carafe of hydration. It was a big bonus point in my book! 3. The food is delicious! If you go, do the "Feed Me" five course tasting menu. We were not thinking and just ordered bread, zucchini and a pasta dish. They were all very well done but were very petite portions for their price. The bill came out to only a few bucks less than what the "Feed Me" would have been for two people. Beginners mistake! So where does a star fall off? For me, it was the atmosphere & ambiance. We were expecting it to be more upscale, intimate and a great date night spot. Instead, we found the atmosphere was very tightly configured, loud and hard to unwind in. Sadly, I didn't really enjoy the meal because we could barely hear one another. For the price of the meal, you don't want to constantly be saying, "What was that?" to your date throughout the night. One of my favorites and I'm not even a vegan. The flavors they create have me speechless every time. Started with house made bread and that hummus that is phenomenal in itself. Amazing char on the soft sourdough The carrots are out of this world with that pesto sauce that I could eat every day. Have the tomato dish that was everything and more. Light sauce with a flavor y kick anything else. The cabbage dish was phenomenal I've never knew I would love cabbage done thsi way. It was so soft and flavorful with a bit of spice that was perfectly paired. The broccoli was breath taking. I could eat just these veggie dishes daily and be happy lol Had the rigatoni - that is one of my favorites, the sauce they make for this is addicting! Then we got the gnochetti that was excellent, pesto and Minho leaves with a light sauce and nothing beats homemade noodles! Also got the other pasta dish that had oat bechemal sauce and let me tell give you some advice order it all! Then came dessert - Tiramisu- my 3rd time having this and they changed it this time around. It's like a delicious puffy tiramisu cake. Accompanied by chocolate ice cream and pineapple sorbet and double chocolate cherry cookie and chocolate chip cookie. Also they have feed me which is $42 and like a 4-5 course meal or you can come on Sunday if you can get a table for Sunday service. There isn't anythign on the menu that isn't jaw dropping. let me start by saying we had an amazing server, Rose, who made our entire experience. she was so fun and helpful. the space is very quaint and cute, with large murals on the walls and fun colors. now onto the food, I wasn't impressed with the bread selection, it tasted like I was licking a grill. the arancini was delicious, it had a nice flavor and texture. the main dishes (corn pasta and tagliatelle) were so garlicky and overpowering, I didn't really enjoy either fully. I felt like the chef was trying too hard to get people excited about eating vegetables rather than letting the veggies speak for themselves in the dish. My mom and I dined here for their delightful Sunday Supper. For reference, my mom is a very clean eater - she is wary of excess sugar, chemical-based ingredients, and wheat in her diet. After experiencing the authentic, vegetarian food included in our dinner, she excitedly exclaimed how much she adored nearly every plate on the menu! Our pre-planned meal included sourdough bread service (with carrot and black garlic dip), roasted beet root, mushroom aranchini, roasted haruki turnip cucuzza squash, zucca, and an upside down pineapple cake for dessert! WOW - literally LOVED each dish! Our service was kind, helpful, attentive, and prompt. Due to the hip interior aesthetic, I assumed it'd appeal more to a younger crowd, but actually saw a diverse range of people inside! It was lovely. I came here on a Saturday evening (5p I believe) with a gluten free, dairy free vegetarian friend and it was super meh. As a meat loving omnivore (former veg of 15 years), I won't go back. There are much better, easier, more comfortable vegan restaurants to be had. Parking is a freaking disaster. We ended up parking on what I'd want to call an alley, against a fence to an industrial area. It didn't feel safe but it's the only parking we could find. The apartment complex Somebody People is located inside obviously doesn't have enough parking for residents and the streets everywhere around are just packed to the gills with giant SUVs. Parking in the tiny little lot behind the restaurant is confusing (no clear signage where visitors can park vs residents) and the parking pay QR code didn't work so we moved so as not to be towed or ticketed. We sat in the bar area at the window bar, and it was LOUD - even with only about 10 other people in that space. The dining room is taller and holds probably 100 people and when we each went to the restroom we commented on the insufferable din. The bar area was loud enough we could hardly hear each other sitting side by side. We ordered pretty quickly and waited forever for apps. We ordered the GF bread app and it was comically disgusting - like a cornbread cake that had sat in the salamander for DAYS and they decided to send it out anyway. It was absolutely rubber. I eat meat and I couldn't chew through this stuff. We ordered a mushroom risotto which sounded divine, but was bland and overcooked. We also shared a beet salad which was the only thing we were happy to eat. We left hungry with a lot of snacks for my chickens (who also wouldn't eat it, fwiw). Absolutely not worth the drive from Longmont, and we will default to and strongly recommend City O' City or Watercourse over this place to any dietary restricted friends wanting a special meal out in Denver. One of the beat restaurants in Denver. Every dish is a surprise because it has been thoughtfully prepared to perfection. Of course, you will pay a premium for this extraordinary quality, but that is to be expected. While it can get a bit noisy and wait times for a table can become a bit excessive, it's still worth it without any doubt. My partner and I recently came here for a belated birthday celebration. Out of all the vegan restaurants in Denver, Somebody People was obviously more on the upscale side of things. The experience was very good overall, aside from a couple of small kinks. First, the good. Strong menu of very plant-forward dishes. This isn't a place that is leaning on 'fake' meats (not that there's anything wrong with that). But all the dishes really stood on their own and the flavours were excellent. We opted for the "Feed Me" option, which was basically a four course dinner. Each dish (see attached photos) was very much enjoyed. Some of the cons: it took a very long time to be seated, despite having a reservation and arriving on time. Apparently they were having an issue getting the last table to finish up their meal. Granted, things like this can happen but I felt like they should have tried to accommodate us at another table (there seemed to be some empty). They were apologetic about it at least! Also, as some have mentioned, it is quite loud in there. Of course, you expect there to be ambient conversation noises around you in a busy restaurant but something about the acoustics there made it feel really noticeable. It did get better as the night went on and some people filtered out. But again, the experience was really good in general and would recommend for anyone, plant-based or not. read more

I came with a group of friends (some vegan, some omnivore) for the Sunday Supper menu and we all agreed that our meal was out of this world good! The Sunday Supper menu is six chef-curated courses for $38 a person, served family style. Everything was spiced exceptionally well and there was plenty of food for everyone. I've enjoyed numerous visits to Denver, and this is hands down the best meal I have experienced. I attended the Sunday supper with my sister and brother in law. Not only was the service top notch (efficient, informative, and playful!), the food was inventive, creative, and truly satisfying for the meat eater at the table (me!). I am still wracking my brain about how they made a completely plant-based vanilla custard cake that luscious, both corn and asparagus dishes with so many layers of flavor, and a spicy cashew cream pasta that smooth and decadent. Since everything is sourced fresh, chef prepares a special meal on Sundays based on things the farms they work with have surplus of, or what they think they may have extra to work with. The concept planning begins on Monday, ready for an incredible feast on Sunday. I could talk about everything we had, an absolutely incredible, complex, deeply rich in flavor meal all around. But, let's highlight a few stars: - The sourdough. Yes, the sourdough, essential sourdough focaccia, light and airy with a perfect crust. Insanely delicious with the meyer lemon olive oil it's served with - The chinese eggplant. Perfect. Paired with tomato, basil, and chive, immense flavor in such basic ingredients. And that's the thing, there's nothing to stand behind here, just the freshest of ingredients with perfect execution. - The delicata squash. I have never had squash cooked so perfectly tender, the beets and sunflower puree just an otherworldly accompaniment. Wow. An absolute must visit, especially on a Sunday. read more
