    Relaxed, fun and trendy vibe
    Veronique C.

This bar is located atop the Halcyon hotel in Cherry Creek and overlooks the Rocky Mountains. The atmosphere is fun and trendy, with plenty of seating and shade. The mist offers a welcome relief from the summer heat. The pool area is separate, which makes me wonder why they serve drinks in plastic. If you are beer drinker, you might be disappointed with the very limited selection, while the wine list is better. We visited on a hot day, perfect for a frozen cocktail. I had the Toucan with Camp Viejo Rose, Elderflower, and Absinthe. It wasn't strong at all, but perfectly refreshing. We enjoyed our drinks, snacking on fries and admiring the views, while the mist deliciously caressed our backs.

Decent! Kind of an extreme price gauge.. my frozen drink came and wasn't frozen at all. The pizza was good at a steep price. Saw this place on Instagram and wanted to try it out. For a pizza and a drink it was $50 for just me.. service was ok. The place is really cool and would be very enjoyable on a sunny weekend.

Fun atmosphere and drinks are decent, but be prepared for some possibly bad service (which we had) , and a required 20% tip on top of a $4 fee required for the hotel. Didn't anticipate spending $60 for three drinks....

    Mushroom pizza

The pizza was delicious! We loved the atmosphere here. Only downside is no regulation soft drinks and they were $6 each.

Some kind of cheese plate that was full of dog hair.

We had a girls night out and decided to try this place based on reviews. Pretty disappointed! my drink took more than 20 minutes. My friend drink had dog hair in it. Also cheese plate that didn't look appealing at all had dog hair. It's okay bar will not go back.

The price was a bit high, but the quality of the meal was spot on. I had the seared scallops with celery root puree, pomegranate seeds, cous cous, and toasted hazelnuts. Divine. My husband had the filet mignon with Bearnaise sauce, and roasted potatoes and asparagus. Also amazing. Both dishes per cooked to perfection. All employees were professional and our server was friendly. The atmosphere was lovely--clean, warm, inviting. It was an interesting journey to find the bathroom. It's shared with other parts of the building and was the only thing that needed attending. Four stars for the messy bathrooms, price being quite high, and it was a 2 hour and 45 min dinner. Took forever. I've never had so many glasses of water in my life in such a short period of time. If you can afford it, I would certainly say the food was almost worth it--desserts were just okay, and one of the appetizers was alright.

Saturday night was packed, so having a 6:30 reservation definitely helped. They were running about 5-10 minutes behind, but nothing unreasonable given how busy it was. Our server walked us through the specials and menu updates, which was helpful. I ordered the chicken parmigiana with a Caesar salad. The salad was a generous portion--cold, crisp, with just the right amount of dressing and buttery garlic croutons. The chicken parm was excellent: perfectly cooked, great breading, flavorful sauce, and a nice side of pasta. Honestly, better than I can make at home. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals (even if I can't remember exactly what they ordered!), and we wrapped things up with the brownie sundae--which was huge and easily shareable between two people. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, making it a great spot for a night out. Definitely planning to go back--and next time, we'll be sure to make a reservation.

The staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable if you can describe to them what kind of wine you want and like. As for the bruschetta, like I mentioned, they are all good, even the ones that aren't my personal preferances they stiill aren't bad, but my absolute favorite is the artichoke. I usually get two of them because it is so creamy and delicious. I also like the salami a lot, probably my second, and the lox/salmon is good, too. PS, you can also recork your bottle if you aren't a pro wine drinker for the board & bottle special. It's truly a no-brainer for the price to go ahead and get that bottle and 4 slices for a mere $25. Everyone enjoyed their food and for the most part, the wine choices were on point as well. The one drawback I would say was our service was not the most attentive. Our server also did not know much about the wine choices, but having had very different experiences at other restaurants I think this may have been a one off situation.

Considering the only other US location is in California, I was surprised and knew this would be my opportunity to try it! The aesthetic is modern & elevated with Japanese wooden features. I got 3 classic dishes which was just the right amount of food. I honestly recommend coming with a group to try more items since you know everything will be delicious. The Yellowtail Jalapeño is a signature dish; the yellowtail was delicate & buttery and the citrus soy with the bight of jalapeño made each bite clean, bright, with some subtle heat. I did not expect the Rock Shrimp Tempura to be that good! The shrimp was lightly battered & fried but the sauces were the highlights! Their creamy spicy is a very well-done spicy mayo but the butter ponzu was unreal! Super addictive, rich, and unlike any sauce I've had before. Shout out to my waitress for suggesting getting both sauces on the side rather than lathered on the shrimp, which also kept it crispy. Last but certainly not least is the famous Black Cod! The fish is super buttery and flaky; there were some caramelized edges from the miso glaze which added so much depth & richness to the bite. It's a good balance of sweetness, savoriness, umami that is bound to be good. All in all, so grateful I got to try what many call an institution and will certainly try more of chef Nobu's restaurants.

They're confident because they've been made well for a long time. You might occasionally reach for something flashier, but when you want polish and assurance, they're hard to beat. That feeling defined a recent dinner at Barolo Grill, where I sat at the bar and ordered the degustazione menu. My relationship with Barolo Grill goes back more than a decade. Thirteen years ago I brought my wife here on one of our early dates. Later, when my father passed away, friends brought us here to celebrate his life. During the pandemic, when restaurants were fighting to survive, Barolo packed up meals and wine and handed them out curbside, and many of us showed up to support them. In between those moments have been countless dinners, after-dinner drinks, and long conversations at the bar. Tonight marked another moment: a birthday and the beginning of a new chapter in my life. That's the rare thing about a place like Barolo Grill. Restaurants come and go, but a few weave themselves into the arc of a person's life. Barolo has done that for me. The meal opened with Carpaccio di Bufalo, thinly sliced Colorado buffalo with bagna cauda and buffalo mozzarella. It was exceptional. Carpaccio succeeds or fails on three things: the meat, the olive oil, and the salt. Here, all three were perfect. Next came the gorgonzola "soufflé" with orange and walnuts. Delicious, though the texture leaned closer to a sformato than a classical airy soufflé. The orange brightened the richness beautifully. The spinach gnocchi were the one miss of the evening - gummy and lacking flavor. I sent them back. The kitchen responded immediately and moved me to the next course without hesitation, exactly the kind of professional recovery good restaurants manage instinctively. What followed became the standout dish: tortellini ai funghi in mushroom brodo with shaved truffle. The broth was extraordinary - clear and deeply savory. Pickled beech mushrooms added a subtle sweetness and acidity that lifted the dish. Great broth is rare because nothing hides in it. This one showed confidence and restraint. The main course, Agnello, delivered beautifully. A grilled Colorado lamb chop sat on creamy stone-ground polenta with mint-basil pesto and a tomato-olive-cucumber relish. The lamb tasted unmistakably of lamb - rich and clean. The polenta added comfort while the relish provided brightness. Each bite moved through fat, cream, herb, acid. Dessert was a Castelmagno cheesecake with lavender honey and toasted hazelnuts, lighter and silkier than an American cheesecake. An espresso alongside it completed the meal in the most perfect way possible. Recently I had dinner at Alma Fonda Fina. The two restaurants represent very different philosophies. Alma pushes the experience forward with energy and excitement. Barolo Grill is something else entirely: refined, confident, timeless. Like those Ferragamo loafers, it may not always be the boldest choice - but it's one you return to again and again. And sometimes, that's exactly what you want.

The young hostess didn't even look at us when we walked in and stood at the host station. She immediately said aggressively while looking down, "do you have a reservation?!" And I said "excuse me?" I was quite astonished and bothered by her abrasiveness. She repeated "do you have a reservation?!" I immediately said with a warm smile, "hi hello. How's your evening? We're so excited to be here for the first time. Yes, we do have a reservation under the name ____________." My party and I have not been back since. The abrasive rude nature of the hostess ruined the first experience I had inside the restaurant and it took me quite a while to shake it off. But yes, I will literally never forget how much money we spent on our dinner that night and how rude the hostess was. Rude greeting, if you can call it a greeting, slow service, and surprisingly high price. We'd rather pay the same price where we are greeted and served better. * So does an experience had 2 to 3 years ago even matter at this point? It does if the patrons haven't been back since. And we have not been back since.
