    Parmigiano soufflé
    Natalia S.

Dear Emilia just opened a few days ago and is already booked out months in advance (bit pro tip: you can snag a seat at the open-seating 6-spot chef's counter if you show up at 4pm). From the team behind Olivia, the focus here is upscale, hyper-regional Italian cuisine with a particular emphasis on Emilia-Romagna. We sat at the chef's counter, which I highly recommend. The staff and service there were excellent and really elevated the experience. Standout dishes for me included the parmigiano soufflé, which was absolutely heavenly and easily my favorite bite of the night. I also appreciated seeing a leek side dish on the menu -- a criminally under-appreciated vegetable in my opinion. It was nice to have a gluten-free pasta option available as a substitute for the garganelli with duck and pork sausage, though I didn't really pick up on the black truffle in that dish. Also, the ribeye was delicious, but I'm still stunned at the $110 price tag. I don't think the dessert was terribly memorable either (the risotto). Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the food and service, especially at the chef's counter. While it may not end up being our favorite opening of the year, it's a strong addition to Denver's Italian dining scene -- and I would happily go back for that soufflé.

I made a reservation as soon as they opened up reservations. So glad I did. The restaurant is gorgeous with the open kitchen. It is not in my favorite area of town but they have garage parking attached. They suggest 2-3 dishes per person and that was perfect has I already had my 3 ready to go by pre looking at the menu. Ordered myself a glass of Montepulciano di Abruzzo of course! Every dish was so good. I was surprised how light everything felt. Nothing was overindulgent or super rich. Would definitely recommend. The staff were great. Smiles by the whole team and many came over to say hi. Water was continually being filled around the room. The chefs come out and explain each dish. Just love this so much as someone who is a foodie! We are lucky to have this new edition in Denver!

This sister restaurant to Restaurant Olivia opened in January. It is on the ground floor of The Current building in Rino. Very pleasant soft wood tones with various seating options including a chefs counter. I made a reservation for 4pm on Thursday, not knowing how busy they might be. I was their first customer and had a choice of seatings. I sat at one of the two person booths and was served by Curran R. Their Italian cuisine is centered on the Emilia-Romagna area of Italy. That implies a parmesan cheese inspired menu. They are not a red sauce style restaurant. Everything is a la carte. I started with Lo Spritz with Lambrusco & arancia rosso. Lighter than an Aperol Spritz. I selected the Insalata Mista with watermelon radishes with a blood orange and anchovy dressing. Very good. I added a glass of Berlucchi Franciacorta, a sparkling wine. Next was the Souffle al Parmagiano with 24 month aged Parmagiano-Reggiano & drizzled grape honey. My pasta dish was a colorful and creative rendering called Lasagna Verde. Instead of horizontal layers, it was vertical and very green. It was filled with bolognese, bechamel, pomodoro sauce with drizzled extra virgin olive oil and a slice of parmigiano-reggiono cheese on top. Very good. A good amount of pasta for only $28 (menu said $30). So yes, a parmesan centered menu. I added a side dish of carmelized carrots with pine nuts. I asked Curran R which red wine would go with the Lasagna. He brought out 2 half glasses of nebbiolo & sangiovese. The prices were adjusted. I preferred the Nebbiolo. For dessert, presented on a postcard was the Torta all'olio d'oliva. A smallish version of an olive oil cake. I paired it with a small pour of Marsala. They include a 20% service charge. My water glass was kept full and I met several other servers.

One of the best meals we've had in a long time. Well, since having dinner at their sister restaurant, Restaurant Olivia! Ty & Heather know what they're doing and we will follow them wherever they go! (When are we going to Italy?!)

I feel fortunate because read other reviews here that said it took 2 months to secure a Monday reservation. I recently decided that I am not going to live a gluten free lifestyle even if my 4th cousin from 23andme suggested that everyone on earth is gluten intolerant and there is a global conspiracy to poison us all with gluten ataxia. Starting with the bread, we were already impressed. The texture was perfect, crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. There was another review that said it's not that great. Not sure what that persons problem is. I didn't know what to order so got the pasta rustica, a little marinara some ricotta. I understand from the other reviews that this is American Italian food but worked for me. My partner enjoyed the steak/Gorgonzola pasta. That was tasty too, I had the leftovers the next day! The limoncello cake, omg so good

After that bread was brought over so we could dip into the already placed olive oil and vinegar that was on the table prior to sitting. We started with the calamari with was tasty but noticed the breading kept falling off the rings. I kept having to scoop the fallen breading out of the dipping sauce. For entrees, I got the mussels and linguine and my husband got the chicken piccata. Every mussel in my dish had meat in it which was nice but I felt like the overall dish was missing something as it was quite acidic tasting.. maybe some cream? The chicken piccata was pretty good, with mushrooms, artichokes, carrots, broccolini, and capers. My husband doesn't really like mushrooms or artichokes so I had a few bites of those and they were tasty. He said the dish reminded him of "old world piccata" and not the modern dish he was expecting of just chicken, capers, and pasta. But he said he did enjoy it. Service was slow and we did hear the next table have some complaints and their bill was comped. We did wait a bit between each course and for the server to appear for the bill. Overall, Odyssey restaurant was ok. The vibe is very cool as it is a converted home.

We started with the burrata, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST burrata I've ever had. Not the best in Denver. The best, period. Backed that up with a solid salad, then moved into a homemade pasta with ragù that had no business being that good. Finished with dessert and walked out wondering why we'd even bothered with Utria in the first place. Here is the thing though... sometimes you need a bad experience to land in the right place. Tavernetta didn't need our five stars: but it earned them anyway.

It was hands down the best thing we had and some of the other items we ordered were amazing too. If you're going to order anything here, do the burrata with the focaccia bread. You can thank me later. Next up, we had the carpaccio and crudo with caviar. If I had to choose only one, I would pick the carpaccio but the crudo with caviar is great. Freddie recommended the crudo with caviar and what a wonderful harmony of flavors. These were both standout winners. And the carpaccio meat was incredibly soft. Best carpaccio I've ever had, and I love carpaccio. Last, we had the paglia e fieno (rabbit ragu) and branzino. The branzino was the item I was most excited to try leading to our reservation and it was the item I liked the least. I am a huge branzino fan and order it any place that has it. This was probably my least liked branzino I have had. The olive sauce was just way too strong for this fish. The fish itself was beautiful but I couldn't get past the sauce. I would pass on this, even if you like olives. The rabbit ragu really surprised me and it was my 3rd favorite thing we ordered. I would definitely order that again. We passed on dessert since we were full and nothing sounded too good. We did valet at the hotel next door. I immediately told my friends this was one of the best Denver restaurants we've had. The service was outstanding too. Freddie had the best recommendations and took great care of us.
