Reliable and welcoming, this place is delightful. Their airplane chicken is worth the wait, the bread pudding dessert is almost sinful it's so good. Brunch is awesome, as well. Servers are helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. read more

Don't trust the hours. We arrived about 40min before close, which should be plenty of time for Italian to cook. We were told the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. We ended up at another great local place with friendlier and more accurate hours. Plus, parking is sparse and extremely frustrating. Skip this. read more

Enjoyed a fantastic Denver Restaurant Week dinner experience! Crazy busy, but the staff and kitchen crew were outstanding and delivered a incredibly delicious 4 course meal. Since this was restaurant week, the menu was special and will probably be different later, but we enjoyed the Mustard Brie pasta and the Tomato Vodka Cream with zucchini noodles. Both delicious and huge serving. Veronica, our server was great and friendly considering the very busy night, she was a pro! We will be back again to enjoy more off their menu. read more

Wasn't bad, just not as fresh or homemade tasting as we were hoping. Probably would try somewhere else next time. Liked their outdoor seating though! read more

I liked the unique layout and bustling atmosphere here. Our food was delicious and our waitress was friendly. However, it was so loud in here on a Friday night that it really detracted from our experience. We could barely hear each other across the table! I'd maybe come back on a week night but not again on the weekend read more

Been dying to try this place and it did not disappoint! Total mom and pop vibe with the classic home cooked taste you'd expect. We loved our server and appreciated the bday tiramisu. The caprese was the biggest standout surprisingly, loved their version with the shredded basil. So good! The gnocchi was a fun dish. You can choose your own adventure with the butter, cheese, cheese and mushrooms. The ball is in your court to sauce it up how you like. The Spaghetti Arrabbita was a tad below expectation. Depth of flavor was lacking from the sauce and bacon/pancetta. It was just okay. Definitely worth the visit and will satisfy your Italian cravings. read more

I loved this place! It felt so cozy and homey, traditional Italian vibes! The pasta was amazing, I felt like my grandma made it or something. The best bolognese I've had in a while. We also got the tiramisu to go, highly recommend! read more

We had a medium party of 7 on a Monday night (thanks for being open on a Monday!) We had a nice seating on open patio. The star of the night was our server, Kamryn-- she was fantastic, and although she admitted not being too busy, she went out of her way to accommodate our table in several ways. The prices were reasonable, the pastas solid. My wife and I ordered the salad with crispy prosciutto and a chicken pasta special with burrata-- our server split them for us, nice portions no extra charge. Also a couple wine BTG tastes, always appreciated. We also had a cheesecake that looked great on display and was indeed good, enough to take home for another bite. read more

Had a lovely dinner here last week with 2 friends. We made a reservation for a Wednesday evening at 6:30, and it did get pretty full around that time. Our server was friendly and efficient. I really enjoyed my dish, the Skipza, it's just vegetables and spaghetti squash in a really delicious sauce that totally makes the dish and doesn't make you feel like you're missing out on pasta. read more

Came here for restaurant week last week on a Friday - one of the main reasons we decided to dine here was the elaborate restaurant week menu. I got the Brie appetizer along with the tomato bisque and for mains I got the Truffle asparagus pasta, it was good. My husband and our friends got other items on the menu so eventually we had everything popular on the menu on our table. All I can say is it was good not great! The cheesecake was good but other than that, I don't expect chocolate dressing on a tiramisu. read more

Delicious food and great service! Plus it's super cozy especially on a cold Denver night. My friends and I all loved what we got. I ordered the mustard and Brie pasta that I read such good things about and I'm another person recommending that you get it! It's so different but super yummy! read more

Excellent restaurant with great food and attentive servers. The pasta is great and worth the price. All the food was really good - we ordered, baked brie, bruschetta, gnocchi in pesto, creamy sausage, mustard and brie fusilli, spaghetti arrabbiata, tiramisu, and bread pudding. I am excited to visit again. read more

Quaint place. The food was delicious. No pictures we were so hungry we forgot. Happy we made reservations.

This is the place to come if you're looking for a cozy restaurant with homemade Italian dishes! Nestled into the quaint Highlands Square neighborhood in NW Denver is Stella's. The neighborhood has interesting architecture with lots of shops & boutiques. Stella's is small & homey, it even looks to have once been a house. The Thursday night we went the restaurant was busy, loud & lively. I suggest making a reservation. Parking is on the street & at times can be difficult to find a spot. Our server was very attentive & friendly. He made numerous trips to our table to refill waters & bread. The bread was wonderful & we dipped it in olive oil. We ordered the Lasagna & RaviolI. The dishes were really tasty & delicious, with good size portions. However, the Ravioli pasta was a little too al dente & I prefer the veggies in the Lasagna to be minced. For dessert you've gotta try the Tiramisu, it's divine! ( We didn't have it this time but I've had it before.) Not only is it a huge portion, but it's rich & soft, sorta cake-like. This was a very enjoyable dinner at a very fun restaurant! read more

A good place to bring family or friends from out of town. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and you know your food will be good no matter what you pick. I appreciate that they have a smaller menu and that it changes often. The whipped Gorgonzola was a hit with my 1 year old and it came with some fruit as well so I didn't feel like I was only giving her carbs. The salad was good and fresh, though I wasn't "wowed" by it. My husband and his dad were both happy with their pasta dishes! Tip- go a little earlier to avoid needing a reservation! read more

I used to come here as a kid. I don't know what happened, if they are under new staff or just don't care anymore. I took my friend here a few months ago and we couldn't eat our food because it was so dry, and I came back tonight hoping to give them one more chance since my family used to love this place, and I was somehow even more disappointed than last time. Asked for the Steak Gnocchi, agreed to medium rare. Received a mix of well done and raw. The gnocchi was hilarious, since it very much was not gnocchi, it was some weird fried hushpuppy, and tasted disgusting. I couldn't stomach it and left my food, very much barely touched, I ate maybe half a piece of a piece of steak and half of 1 "gnocchi" and asked for the check to leave. Server did not care to ask what was wrong, which is fine, but for an almost 30$ meal I didn't eat, I would appreciate at least a little concern about the quality control. I am genuinely sad about the direction this restaurant is going... I had so many fond memories here as a child, but I can not bring myself to give it a 3rd chance to be disappointed even more than this time, I'm not sure if it's even possible. read more

This is one of our favorites. I love the sauces and flavors here, and the service has always been great. That sun dried tomato dish is incredible. read more

The waitress was super nice but unfortunately the food took a little bit less than an hour to arrive. The food was amazing you can taste the freshness, however they were out of bread which was a big disappointment. To compensate they offered us free dessert so it wanted the worst outcome. Also my son ordered a kids pasta but the waitress didn't ask if he wanted a kids drink, didn't even mention it. The tables and atmosphere were nice though, as they included olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette I think as well as salt and pepper. Long story short great food but it took quite a bit of time to arrive. read more

Absolutely incredible all around highly highly recommend. We had the Rigat and Fusili. Both top tier. We will be back.

Based on reviews I read I feel like the detractor here but I was thoroughly unimpressed. The service was horrible, our waiter was non-existent for most of our meal with both of our drinks running dry. Our appetizer came out just seconds before our meal and a long time after we ordered as well. The food was mediocre at best. It wasn't bad, but it was special either way the menu is limited and the descriptions of the dishes do little to actually explain them. The cost is not on par with the experience. I have no issue paying up for an amazing meal but this is all of the cost with none of the justification. The ambience is quaint, and they have a nice outdoor area, though. read more

Intrigued by their Restaurant Week offerings, I was disappointed in the quality of the food and the poor service. We were seated on the nearly empty patio and over the next few minutes, it filled up with lots of hungry people -- a good sign we thought. Small tables are close together and with the place full it was extremely loud. We ordered our meals and drinks. Then waited and waited. After a while, I signaled down our waiter and asked if we could get some water and our drink. Absolutely, he replied. Then we waited. Shortly a runner brought our first and second course at the same time. The crostini was bone dry. The Caesar salad was nothing special, mediocre and mass produced. Then the main course arrived. Wait, we are not even half way through the first course, we don't have our wine and there is no room on the postage sized table for another thing. Finally, the wine is served. The Bolognese sauce tasted like it came straight out of a can, with thick stewed tomatoes, no other spices. The pasta was overcooked, soggy, lifeless, tasteless blob. Parking is problematic on the street. So a very disappointing evening. It is hard for me to comprehend the draw of this restaurant, when there are so many others trying harder to please. read more

Really exceeded expectations. Both pastas were delicious. Tomato vodka pasta in particular was a real highlight, with a perfectly seasoned sauce, great texture to the noodles, and excellent sausage. A must visit for sure. Better than Luca in our opinion! read more

This review is so overdue but please bookmark or save this place on your Places to Eat list because this gem is one the best Italian restaurants was visited when we vacationed in Denver. What makes this place so special is not only the food but the hospitality was 10/10. The host was incredibly thoughtful, helpful and funny and the staff were so friendly! The food is incredible! Thank you to the staff for making our night memorable. Can't wait to visit again soon! read more

We came here because of the good reviews. The restaurant has a nice ambiance. Although they seated us in line with the 2 doors and there was a draft so I was kinda cold. Luckily my friend was under a heater so she was nice and toasty. Waiter was really nice and attentive and was patient with us. We took a while catching up and conversing before we actually ordered. The menu definitely has some non standard dishes which I liked since I like trying new food. The meals came out relatively fast. The steak gnocchi was delicious. Steak was tender and juicy and the gnocchi was made differently than what I'm used to which was nice and tasty. Prices weren't bad at all. A very good dining experience besides the cold draft for my seat. read more

I read some of the reviews before coming here and I was laughing at how people were inhaling their food and going back the next day. I'm a believer. This place is so cute! The atmosphere, the amazing service and the delicious food! Foods we ordered: ARTICHOKE & BRIE FUSILLI House made black squid ink fusilli served with artichokes, spinach, brie & mascarpone in a lemon olive oil, topped with pine nuts. I couldn't really taste the squid ink but the Brie and artichokes made this dish really come together. 32ND ST. PASTA Black tiger shrimp, toasted pecans & sundried cranberries, sautéed in spicy lemon olive oil with spinach spaghetti & goat cheese. Okay. A must get!!!! The goat cheese on top makes the dish super creamy and brings out so many flavors! I can see why this one was a fan favorite. TRUFFLE ASPARAGUS SPAGHETTI Asparagus, arugula, toasted pine nuts, portabella & crimini mushrooms tossed with spinach spaghetti in thyme butter & finished with white truffle oil. My second favorite dish! The thyme butter and which truffle oil paired so well together. The spinach spaghetti was super delicious and it didn't feel heavy. The crunchy asparagus really added to this dish. I'm already dreaming of going back! I may just order the same things again hahaha read more

Another lovely meal in Denver. Definitely make a reservation as they were full house. Restaurant was very bustling. There are indoor seating as well as outdoor seating under heat lamps. We opted for indoors as being from Hawaii, I was not used to this cold. Even indoors, I kept my Canada Goose on. A place that you can get glasses of wine and Italian Soda with homemade whipped cream? I say yes! We had a larger group so got to try a bunch of shared starters. The bison meatballs were very heavy handed with the salt. I tend to like my food on the salty side, so when I think it's salty, it's pretty over. The oven-baked brie topped with roasted garlic cloves & rosemary, served with fresh fruit & focaccia. Just get it! You will be happy you did. I couldn't stop eating this. The entrees with in house made pasta was okay. Kinda wished the pasta had that al dente bite to it. But maybe because it was fresh pasta, it was a little softer? I don't remember any standouts for the entrees. Definitely save room for dessert! Their desserts rule! Perfect bites and very generous in size. The apple crumble was my favorite. Get the ala mode! Service was probably their weakest suit. To their defense, the restaurant was packed and it didn't seem like they had the staff to handle. Our server was friendly, just spread too thin. read more

Trattoria Stella is my new favorite Italian place. From the street side this place looks fairly small, however, looks are deceiving. It's actually a good size with patio seating in the front and rear and indoor seating. The food, OMG... I had the Tomato Basil Spaghetti. The spaghetti is tossed with extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, basil, fresh grape & Roma tomatoes. I also had them add a few meatballs to push this dish over the top. I love that the spaghetti had a bit to spice to it. It also paired well with the Marcel Malbec. The food, the wait staff are exceptional. Tom, the owner, also stopped by to ask about our dinner. Pretty cool to see the owner in the trenches and checking in on people. It was a great dining experience and nice, relaxed way to enjoy dinner with a friend. Pro tip: Make a reservation! read more

McKenna, we hadn't been there in a while, and you made our visit incredible. You made room for us at a four top, and we truly had forgotten how good your place is. My wife and I shared a bottle of wine, and the pic is below of what we had. Great pricing, great wine. We split a Caesar salad and it was fantastic. Sorry, I slacked on the pic of the salad as I was really hungry. We split the mustard brie fusilli (insert Seinfeld joke right now). Their bread is great, and the communal atmosphere full of talking makes you believe you are truly in a great Italian place. No extra charge for the split. Mustard Brie pasta was as dope as I remembered it last time. Yes, I just said the dish was dope. So, either I am too old, or still cool as the other side of the pillow. You be the judge. Wife still is on the fence. This was one of our favorite places for brunch back in the day and I hope they bring it back. I don't know how to describe it except for this. Every single dish is good in its own way and unique in its own way. You can order something "crazy" and it will taste good, and the boring bolognese is just as good. Cool street too, and wander down past Lowell for cool stores and company. McKenna is a lawyer, so she is smart, but know this. I promised you a stellar review and here is it. Us ordinary folks are paying attention, and details are so important. Thanks for the perfect dinner! read more
