My friend and I were staying at the Kimpton and enjoyed our last dinner at Panzano. Our waiter was exceptional and I wish we knew his name, but he had the best energy and provided amazing service. I had the Spadone cocktail which was awesome and not too tequila forward. Our appetizer was the chestnut crostini, which was good but we weren't a fan of the whipped cheese thru used. Our entrees were stellar; the halibut and the chicken pasta. We loved them and would highly recommend. Their tiramisu was delicious and a very large portion. We came in about an hour before close for a late dinner. Our server was great and she explained the menu well. I had the Caesar salad with chicken. The salad was fresh and delicious. The chicken was very bland. My husband had a fungi dish and added shrimp. He said it was good. I did think the cost of the food was a bit high. It was $38 for the small fungi dish and $21 for my salad. $4.50 for a Coke. Overall, the food and service were good but I don't think it matched the cost. read more

I have no issue spending a lot on restaurants. And this place is expensive. Two cocktails were $35 before tip. Yet there's a level of experience I expect. For example: I make a reservation and honor it. If stuff goes wrong, make it good. Panzano treated their 25-minute delay (until a waiter actually greeted us)as a revenue-making event. We weren't the only ones sitting in the bar. The place didn't even seem that busy. This was an 8 o'clock reservation. Sure, we got an apology. But I've been to a lot cheaper restaurants where the first thing they'd do is try to make it right. I could have taken them to task. That was the option I gave my wife for Valentine's Day: let them know I'm unhappy. But in the end, it was easier to pay for the drinks and leave. They ruined it. First by not honoring the reservation. Then by making it clear we weren't the only ones they'd messed up. And finally, by making no effort to make the evening better. Sorry -that's fine for Outback. But if I'm spending $100-150 a person, I expect more. read more

The service was still very friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated--especially given the timing. I tried the salmon, and while it was cooked well, the sauce leaned a little too sweet for my taste. Overall, a good experience, and I'd come back earlier next time to try more of the menu. read more

I took my daughter to Panzano for brunch before attending a matinee performance at the Buell Theater. This restaurant is located in the Monaco Hotel just a few blocks from the theater complex. They advertise a pre fixe menu before nighttime performances and no specials before the matinee so we had to order from the breakfast menu. The restaurant called me before we went to tell me there was no brunch available today - another reason to order breakfast! The menu is quite limited so my daughter ordered a chicken hash skillet which was highly recommended by our server. I ordered their version of eggs Benedict which was served over rounds of polenta with prosciutto, greens and Calabrian chili Hollandaise sauce - very yummy. We ordered mimosas to drink. They had run out of pineapple juice so we drank OJ which was delicious. Our server was great and took great care of us. I've gone to Panzano several times over the years. What a treat. I mean if you have the luxury of visiting this place, I would highly recommend it. We were celebrating a special occasion and went for the chef's course. They serve multiple plates paired with a beverage. We also ordered a few extra dishes on top of the chef's course because we wanted them. Props to the chefs that delivered and the server who worked very hard to make sure we got the drink and plate served around the same time. My favorite dish from the chef's menu is easily the watermelon salad. My entire group was skeptical at first, but WOW. It worked. I mean the puree with the fresh watermelon and the garnish just clicked. Simply a genius work of art. All the other dishes were delicious and simply top notch as well. You can tell the noodles were freshly made. The wine pairings for each of the dishes were very intentional and delicious. I can't stop praising the chefs enough, so I'm going to end my review here. We were walking by this place and it was so busy with a number of large parties and when we checked the menu, everything looked really good. We were able to walk in and get a table for two, and I have to say that the food was terrific. We ordered the Arrabiata, one of the salads, and the broccolini. Everything was terrific. The Arrabiata was full of flavor, very fresh, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The salad that we ordered, had an apple caper vinaigrette and candy pecans and was refreshing. Finally, the broccolini had a lot of garlic and a little bit of nuts sprinkled in which really Made it even more delicious. I should add that the service was terrific. A nice spot for breakfast in downtown Denver. The wait to be seated was unnecessarily long. There was no host at the podium with the "Please wait here for a host to seat you" sign. The restaurant was not very busy but apparently the servers can't or won't seat customers. Once a host finally showed up and I was seated, Maya was a terrific server. She was courteous, attentive, and quick. The bacon and eggs were good. Potatoes were mediocre. I also had a side dish of berries, which were fresh. Good coffee. I was in town for a conference and was looking for a great Italian restaurant. I came across Panzano based on some prior reviews and decided to give them a try. I was at the bar overlooking the kitchen and it was great to see them at work. Chefs compliments was a sample of one of their appetizers - delicious! I also had a half order of Brussels sprouts which were amazing! For my entree, I went with the bolognese - as you may know this can be hit or miss at Italian restaurants - this one was sizable and absolutely delicious! The fresh pasta was great too. My server was attentive and very friendly - exceptional service. I was also able to chat with the chef and staff and they were friendly and fun to talk to. Bottom line it was a great experience and I will certainly be back when I'm in Denver. This restaurant came recommended, and in general it didn't disappoint for dinner (will comment on breakfast separately). We started with the fritto misto and focaccia. The bread was simple but so rich and tasty. The accompanying tapenade was balanced and flavorful. When a restaurant can make a simple dish and execute it well, I have more faith in the quality of ingredients they use. The fritto misto included a substantial serving, which was a pleasant surprise. That being said, the description notes that it includes shrimp (in addition to calamari, olives, zucchini, and peppers), but there were only two shrimp in our dish. Again - a flavorful and well-balanced dish. The breading was light, and overall, we didn't find it to be too greasy. The pollo alla milanese sold out the evening we dined, which speaks to its popularity. Breaded and fried chicken (e.g., chicken parmesan, etc.) is not really my thing, but I gave this dish a try. Overall, it was nice. I enjoyed the pasta more than the chicken. Finally, the butterscotch pudding was spot on. It was a large enough serving to split for individuals who like a little something sweet at the end of the meal without going overboard. The four star rating reflects service that I felt was a bit abrasive at times and at other times was a bit inattentive. Denver is just knocking it out of coors field for dinner! I'm staying at the kimpton, where panzano is located. So I was a bit leery, as hotel restaurants are not exactly my speed. But the house was pretty poppin every night I've stayed here, so I became intrigued and ended up enjoying a completely delicious and lovely dinner. The cuisine is Italian with a lot of familiar selections. I sat at the chef's table, and chef was kind enough to tell me about his preferred veggie selections and crafted an extra spicy arrabiata just for me. The pasta was the right amount of Al dente, and the Calabrian chili burn was sublime and lingering. The other line chefs checked in on me as well, and it was fun to hear and watch all the action. For my cocktail, I ventured away from my favorite poisons and tried the sunspear- a marriage of reposado mezcal and tequila, chamomile and lemon, which actually made for a very interesting pairing with my unique plum sorbet dessert! They have a great list of amaros as well. Abby on service was so very friendly, helpful and professional. I really felt cared for here, and I enjoyed every minute. I'd recommend reservations and be aware of downtown parking. But I think you'll be as happy as I am if you pick panzano for your next meal, and Denver visitors need to keep this on their must eat list! I started my evening with a beautiful Negroni Rosa -- perfectly balanced, bright, and the perfect way to begin the night. For my entrée, I enjoyed the elk, served sous-vide style with a blackberry jam. It was absolutely exceptional -- tender, flavorful, and paired flawlessly with a glass of Barolo. Truly one of the most memorable dishes I've had in a long time. To finish, I had the best tiramisu I've ever tasted, along with an espresso martini that was rich, smooth, and the perfect end to the meal. I also want to mention Bryan, who was genuinely one of the best servers I've ever had -- attentive, knowledgeable, warm, and an absolute pro. He elevated the entire experience. I was in town for a personal appointment, and luckily I had the opportunity to meet up with a friend for dinner who recommended Panzano. So first, location wise. I was staying at the Residence Inn in downtown and the restaurant was walking distance, around the corner of the hotel. Being in town as a single woman, I appreciated having a restaurant so close that I felt very safe walking to from the hotel. The restaurant ambiance was welcoming, a bit old school with big booths and tables around the restaurant. I arrived a bit early, they sat me immediately down with a cocktail / wine menu and restaurant menu that I enjoyed perusing. The wine list (and I am a bit of a wine snob) had a great variety and great wines available from across the globe. However, that night, I opted for a custom drink off the menu. It was a whiskey drink mixed with yellow Chartreuse. I have since reached out to the restaurant to get the name of the cocktail and how to make it, but sadly I still have not heard back. I keep checking on line, but because their food and drinks are seasonal, I cannot find the name of it. This is reducing my rating by a star. Come on - communicate - minimally say you aren't willing to share the drink name and recipe. SAD For dinner I ordered the boar & veal bolognese. OMG = it was excellent and a very nice portion served that I took back tot he hotel with me for the next day. All in all, I would definately come back when I am in town (coming from Portland , OR and a Bay Area CA native). The restaurant was excellent, warm and welcoming. Thanks for a great evening. It was especially nice that the Brussel sprouts were crispy all the way through. For dinner I had the Carbonara di Coniglio which was solid. This was a 5-star experience, particularly with the excellent service from Brian and staff, tho all wasn't perfect but most was and then some. Let's start with one of the most amazing salads I've ever had, the Insalata Di Cavoli, a delicious combination of delightful flavors, easily shareable. The Cavolini Di Bruxelles (Brussels sprouts) was equally delicious with its caramelized sprouts and apple sticks, tho the sprouts were a bit on the al dente side, at least for me)...a generous portion, too. We really enjoyed the rich Bolognese pasta, again shareable. I liked the tiramisu, which was fine, if a bit undistinguished. The broccolini was burned, unfortunately, so back it cheerfully went...but there was too much food on the table already so probably for the best. What pushes the experience to 5-stars is the ambiance, relaxed yet romantic, and the very distinguished service of one Brian and crew. Nice wine list. Stayed at the hotel connected to Panzano so we frequented the restaurant quite often for brunch and dinner. For brunch, the farm fresh eggs were a solid choice, and I loved the breakfast sandwich! The spicy aioli was the key to the sandwich. For dinner, I ordered the foccacia with the polpette al Pomodoro. Perfect bread for dipping into the delicious sauce! We also went as a big group for happy hour. We loved the Salsiccia Pizza, Pizza al Funghi, and Margherita Pizzas. Overall, every time I went - either for breakfast, happy hour or dinner, the service was wonderful. I have had the pleasure of going to Panzano's for dinner and lunch and was always happy with the food and service. This morning's brunch pre-theatre was disappointing on both food and service. It's pretty hard to mess up both scrambled and over easy eggs, but they were successful! Also, the service was sub par - especially given the fact that we were one of two tables that were occupied. I recommend going elsewhere for brunch - something I don't say lightly. read more

During a solo trip to Denver in 2022, I grabbed a quick lunch at Panzano and still remembered how good the meal was. When I came back with a small group in June 2025, we took a chance on dinner. Wow wow wow. It may not grab your attention from the outside but the atmosphere, service, and food is top notch. The staff is friendly and attentive and the menu is varied. My group had the scallops, gnocchi, and duck (with the duck being the star of the night). The bourbon cockails and--later--the choice of ports were also very well received. We followed that up with an outstanding tiramasu and gelato sampler (and the decaf was apparently very good too). Next time business or leisure brings us back to Denver, we'll be back to Panzano. read more

We had the Brussels sprouts which were so very good, and split the bolognese which I wish we had more time to enjoy but we were in a rush! Would definitely love to go again when we have more time. Wait staff are incredibly attentive, friendly, and informed with recommendations and information about the food & beverage offerings. We tried the arancini (definitely recommend), burrata (ok, it was fried which took away from the pure taste but paired nicely with sweet tomatoes), and eggplant for my main dish (photo doesn't do it justice, it was beautiful and super tasty). I'm not sure how I missed the Denver institution that is Panzano, but I did and I'm so glad that is no longer the case. It was truly giving Sopranos when I dined recently - only in the sense that this is absolutely a place to bring your whole family on a Sunday night for a fantastic Italian meal. My friend and I took part in their 4 course Chef's Tasting Menu with wine pairing which was SO good and was actually a LOT of food! We didn't know what we were getting into, so we ordered cocktails and their House Bread Service to start which were both also delightful. I'm not sure how often they change up their Tasting Menu (if at all), but if you're unsure of what to order, trust the Chef and get in on this. Our 4 courses below: 1) Insalata di Caesar - romaine, white anchovy, parmesan, house-made croutons - so fresh and crisp. Ours actually had butter lettuce which was somehow better? The best way to start the meal. 2) Bolognese - campanelle, veal + pork, ricotta salata - I'm not the biggest red sauce gal, but I would absolutely order this Bolognese over and over again. 3) Pollo alla Cacciatore - roasted half chicken, san marzano tomato, olive, caper, bell pepper, oyster mushroom, crispy polenta - Did you think the Bolognese was our main meal? Because I did for a sec - already quite full when this came out, but this was delightful. Perfectly cooked chicken and the flavors! 4) Tiramisu - lady finger, espresso bean, amaretto mascarpone, cocoa powder - classic and SO delicious! A big ol' serving came out for each of us too. It's inside Hotel Monaco, but it definitely stands on its own. Whether you're dining with the whole family or want to go on a romantic date, definitely don't pass this place up when you're downtown. *This was a hosted experience for us, but I would 100% dine here again on my own dime any day. read more

Great dinner and service at Panzano on Wednesday night. I had a reservation for a large group, and the restaurant was great communicating with me as I ended up changing our quantity multiple times. We showed up a few minutes early for our 7:15 reservation, after I called a few hours earlier to bump it out from 6:15. Our waiter was great, and cocktails and appetizers (calamari and brussel sprouts) came out a short time later. They were both quite good. I went with the Pesce Fresco, especially after learning the white fish was halibut. It was wonderful...possibly the best piece of fish I've had since moving to Colorado. Asparagus was undercooked but wasn't horrible. Others in my group had the scallops, filet, and a few of the pasta dishes. All raved about their meals. Desserts were quite good as well. The veal piccata came out in a marsala sauce and when we told our waiter, he insisted it was white wine with capers and lemon, of course non of which existed. Luckily the veal was cooked perfectly, but I wish the dish represented what was written in the menu.. the chicken was very dry and tasteless so we ate very little and again the waiter was clueless. At first I wasn't to happy with the service, and quality of one dish . What turned around my experience was the fact the server could tell one dish was barely touched . Which was this shrimp and lobster ravioli. I'm glad she can observe and accommodate accordingly. Wish I got her name . The other dish that was ordered that I really enjoyed was the crusted breadcrumb eggplant lasagna with a marina sauce and basil oil around it . Loooved ! Let me tell you about the delicious desserts. Apple crumble panna cotta . It was refreshing and sweet at the same time . Never had a Panna cotta like that. Went to dinner the night we checked into the Kimpton Hotel attached to Panzano. We were unsure of what to order and the waiter recommended Pollo alla Milanese. All three of us at the table ordered it and were completely surprised at how fantastic it was. We also ordered brussel sprouts as an appetizer and the tiramisu (waiter highly recommended this as well) and were incredibly happy we did. The meal was so fantastic we scrapped our breakfast plans the next morning and went back. The waiter recommended the Banana Bread French Toast. As someone who loves breakfast food, I cannot recommend this enough if you are considering breakfast here. read more

Panzano is a good choice for before dinner at the Performing Arts Center. Our server Abby, was great. She knew the menu, offered helpful advice and was attentive. The kitchen turns out food quickly, which was appreciated, when we had a show to catch. We started with the Frito Misto, shrimp, squid, and tempura vegetables --all really tasty. I had the Seafood Ravioli, stuffed with shrimp and a butter (buerre) sauce with lobster. It was rich, and way too salty for my palate. It was sad to have such a beautiful and potentially tasty meal ruined with so much salt. Others had the pasta, which is made in house daily and served in large portions. Six of us came for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We started by sharing two starters to share. We had some Cavolini di Bruxelles and some Fritto Misto. The Cavolini di Bruxelles consisted of fried brussels sprouts in an apple cider reduction with pistachios, rosemary salt and sliced green apple. It was absolutely amazing and everyone loved it. The Fritto Misto consisted of crispy calamari and blue shrimp with pickled peppers, olives, fennel, summer squash and preserved lemon aioli. Another huge hit and cooked perfectly. For the main I ordered the Pollo e Gnocchi which was a fennel-roasted half chicken with ricotta gnocchi charred cipollini, lemon and chicken jus. This was cooked perfectly but is a large portion size so beware. My partner ordered the Capsesante which is seared day boat scallops with corn risotto, calabrian chili agrodolce and crispy speck. Another fantastic hit and thoroughly enjoyed. We shared a Strawberry and Rhubarb Cobbler with Lemon Sorbet for dessert, which was simply amazing and full of flavour.
