    Breakfast Quesadilla
    Sean M.

We have had brunch here many times and dinner once or twice, but I don't think I have ever reviewed them! This is our go-to for brunch before our visits to the Denver Center Performing Arts center to see plays or concerts. Today was the annual family visit to see "A Christmas Carol" First, it is not cheap. It is the restaurant for the Four Seasons hotel, and of course in downtown. We really think it is worth it, though. A major reason for that is the staff. Helpful, friendly, all-around great. Will do almost anything you ask. My granddaughter had a very specific order not on the menu and it was easily and correctly accomodated. The brunch drink menu is small but nice - the espresso martinis really went down well with some of the group. Today I had the Breakfast Quesadilla, which I thought was great - though while most of their plates are a reasonable size, this thing was HUGE. Maria and I could have split it and still had leftovers. Two others at the table ordered it and said it was "special" and "delicious". A great thing about Edge is that they offer a meat-alternative breakfast sausage (Impossible) which I subbed into my quesadilla. They have added a buffet sometime in the last couple of years, and it is not your typical hotel buffet. My grandson did it today and had a great meal. It looked really delicious - my only issue was the meager fresh fruit selection (when I looked, anyway) but it is almost winter... The Country Fried Steak was really enjoyed by my son-in-law. The dining room is better than hotel-standard. Open, light, and airy. We have also hit the bar for drinks and apps after other shows, and it is a pleasant place to hang. They will validate your ticket for the hotel valet parking, which makes it price-competitive with other parking options while being very easy. And the valets are also great.

Well, ambience is there. Bartender was good. Polite, abliging, professional. The steaks are overpriced. Maybe it's the Denver downtown going rate but I dine across America and this dinner was too pricey. Steaks were ok. Consider lowering the prices or raising the bar on meats.

Besides the prices being "Downtown Denver expensive," this was a tremendous dining experience! The service was top notch and the food as unique as it was delicious. I'm mad I left the leftovers behind because everything was mouth-watering amazing!

Everything was high quality, from food, service, to atmosphere. Pricy and smaller plates but well worth it. Dessert - pana cotta- was outstanding. And the cuteness of the beets flower was a nice surprise. My friend said the sea bass vas very good.

Our server Adrianna by the way was amazing- I need to share that first so I don't forget her name because often times when we want to talk about our experiences the first thing we forget is the waiter/waitress/server's name. Sunny day of course here in Denver, where the sun shines 300 days out of the year, my husband and I decided to use of Christmas gift card from my in-laws to do lunch after church.. we get to the restaurant and check in and for some reason the hostess seemed to try and peruse me to get us to sit in the bar like 3 times after telling her we want to sit in the dining room ... nether here now there we sit down at our table. Our waitress comes and such a pleasant welcome as she welcomes us and ask us what we'd like and she shares the menu and lets us know what the kitchen can prepare etc . Serves us our water and our beverage. She was fantastic- made sure our glasses were filled and refills on our pop (Coke that is) It took a little bit for our food to come out but my husband didn't complain about his grilled chicken sandwich and fries as he ate and said the ranch dressing he dipped his fries in - "the ranch dressing is amazing." My chicken Caesar salad was enough but my fries were not hot but I ate them anyway. I wish I had room for dessert because their menu seems yummy! Leaving the venue was beautiful- the smell of the fresh flowers and amazing showcase of Jewelry from Hyde Park allowed me to show my Husband my next new wedding ring! Until next time!

We never dine at steakhouses since we make fantastic steak at home, but had the opportunity to go Edge and it was an absolute treat. I went with the fish, my husband had the steak and mac & cheese, and everything was spot on. The quality, flavors, and overall experience exceeded expectations. Definitely a place we'd return to when we're in the mood to be impressed.

    Chicken nuggets .....
    Jean-Pierre M.

I do not know how to start, but I am a chef. I was extremely disappointed. We were a large table 8 of us celebrating holidays and we first ordered the chicken nuggets some chicken meatballs with dark meat that would say had a decent taste who had a nice crispy crust and a little quenelle of caviar on top but nothing special (when I see all the photos from previous reviews). This was nothing like that ) and we all have a salad. The salad was decent but nothing exceptional. Nothing to say oh wow . We have bread. The bread was excellent very very good with three types of butters different holiday flavor. We ordered sashimi platter they forgot about the order... We where expecting a nice display Ridiculous, a small ball of ice with 9 small pieces of fish ...... than we all ordered steaks different kinds. We have the butcher block we have the filet mignon. We have a ribeye and so the person that ordered the ribeye ordered it medium rare. It was well done and nobody has a good experience with the meat. The meat was really awful. Have a metal flavor from a grill overheated the meat was not juicy ,dry and chewy. We were all like chewing the meat like it was a piece of rubber . the side dish, where really just OK we have the lobster. Mac & cheese was kind of a little bit of mac & cheese with some lobster meat (frozen )Just warm up on top like a nothing really exceptional. The mashed potato was too salty And we had rice braised carrots that was burnt. They were literally black. What was big disappointment with the price that we were paying the desert were just ok also The a crème brûlée that was tasty and I have a nice caramel burnt on top. We had the cheesecake that was tasty And a chocolate hazelnut tart that was close too a disaster ( the feeling was detached from the tart witch mean that it was not fresh ) the tart was soggy an other disappointing experience also when I see all the photos from previous reviews what we had was not even close to that. Overall the service was OK. We have to call the servers 2 times and we asked for an extra chicken nuggets which never arrived. The server forgot the sashimi with we had after the salads I do have to say the atmosphere and the ambience was very elegant. So we go in the four season restaurants We expect the best of the best and for me it was the worst experience I had and when I had to pay the bill ( four season price ) it make it so much worse so if you want to go try this restaurant enjoy yourself. But you can find so much better and at affordable price

We've been coming here for many years and some of the photos included are from a few different visits. Mostly the food is always very good. The most recent visit was for my birthday and the shrimp and crab salad was good but we felt the burger was just average, maybe even below average which is why I dropped my rating to 4 stars. The desert was amazing!

Back a 3rd time, for dinner. I have to say, dinner was miles better service-wise than lunch or breakfast. The staff across the board was professional, warm, concerned, and very much on their A-game. Food was okay. The steaks eaten by my friends looked to be good, but some other things fell a bit short. The asparagus was 1 or 2 minutes shy of a perfect cook, and were too crunchy for the thickness of the spear. The bread in the bread basket was somewhat hard, and perhaps not baked that day. The cherry tomatoes on the salmon entree were meant to be blistered but most of them weren't. The cavatelli on the salmon dish were sparse and too dense in texture. I also felt the salmon needed lemon to garnish instead of a heap of fresh dill. The ice cream trio was served in a dish that was warm, so by the time it reached our table, it was 1/3 melted already. For a $600+ dinner, I would expect more attention to detail, and more expertise on the food. To end on a good note, if you have $70ish dollars to spend on 1 glass of medeira as a digestif, try the 1970's option at Edge. It's an emotional rollercoaster of flavor in the best way.

Truffle Mac and cheese, whipped potatoes, Waygu steak, asparagus

It's been a few weeks since our dining experience because I wanted to think on it a bit. First of all, some of this is simply my tastes. So take that as it is: an opinion. But other things based on me and my partner's experience at other high end fine dining restaurants in Denver, left this restaurant unmemorable. First of all, the restaurant was lovely and not too loud. A private-ish table was requested for a special celebration and we were kind of in the middle of people but it was fine I guess. Our waiter was lovely. We had mentioned wanting wine at dinner... which turned out to be my biggest complaint but one I will also own up to our own mistakes in the exchange. The sommelier came over and discussed our tastes and had a recommendation, and gave us a sample. At this point, WE should have asked the price, because obviously as someone who is basically a salesperson, we don't ask, why would he tell? Well it landed us with a $240 bottle of wine and a very bad taste in my mouth. We come to these restaurants expecting to drop a lot of money on what is expected to be an amazing dining experience... but $240 bottle of wine was definitely not one of them. Lesson learned. My steak was slightly overcooked and the whipped potatoes were VERY heavy on the rosemary. To the point where I couldn't eat them. The bread was excellent flavor wise but the inside was surprisingly dense. The asparagus and truffle mac and cheese was perfection... and the creme brulee was fine, just not to my taste. Was it bad? No. Was it worth the money we dished out? Also no. We may venture in for lunch or brunch some day but we won't be dining here for dinner again.

Great brunch menu for before a matinee @ Denver Center. Had the wild mushrooms & sweet potato hash. I definitely recommend it. Mimosa with grapefruit was yummy too.

We went to Edge for lunch. This is a beautiful restaurant located inside the Four seasons hotel. They were very accommodating with my requests for my salad, the waiter understood and followed very carefully all the modifications for my salad. Im not a burrito eater but my friend's vegetarian burrito looked delicious.

Warm, happy to have us there, easy to talk to. I mentioned to my friend that I was thinking about a bloody mary, and a minute or two later Ryan asked if he should get that bloody started. He'd caught it in passing conversation, not because he was hovering. That's a hard balance to strike and he nailed it all afternoon. The drinks were great. Nothing fancy on my end, a bloody mary, a shaken screwdriver. Not too strong or weak. Sounds simple, but a lot of bartenders can't consistently hit it! We all got eggs your way, simple stuff done well. The roasted fingerling potatoes were crispy outside, fluffy inside, super good!! The strawberry jam was giving homemade, but I didn't confirm. Overall, Ryan made the visit. Calm presence, good company, and there's nothing better than a brunch seat at his bar next to those big open windows!

Location (4 stars) This restaurant is downtown near the convention center. parking is pricy if you valet park at the hotel. Last year it was around $40. Parking in the lot across the street for $25 dollars Easter Sunday. If you use a walker, I would not recommend the parking lot across the street. Food (3 Stars) The Thanksgiving buffet is the best one. I would rate that buffet a (4). The Christmas and Easter buffet are pretty low key. There is a carving station (ham and prime rib). There is an omelet station. Dessert bar is decorative. Cheesecake was delicious. The warming station with potatoes, sausage etc. leaves much to be desired. The charcuterie station is sparse. They offer unlimited mimosas for an additional $25. Service (5 stars) Staff are extremely friendly. Cleanliness (2 stars) My only complaint, I saw a tabletop being cleaned off with a rag used to clean the chairs and then under the table on the floor and on to the next tabletop. I'm just a little picky about that. Especially since folks these days go commando and wear short attire, and you know their parts are on the chair and now spread to tabletops. Wiping up the crumbs off the floor with same rag simply through me over the edge. Atmosphere (4 stars) Spacious uncrowded environment. Nice decor. Bright with large windows.

I saw Former Saint on CBS News, and the menu and food looked incredible. In particular, that white chocolate blueberry cheesecake was something I know my hubby would look forward to all week! I loved the idea of local food and fresh homemade dishes. Sounds healthy, after a week of potential over-indulgence at other restaurant week venues. An additional bonus was that it is located right near the Denver Convention Center and the Performing Arts Center. This has become a dry spot for fine dining, with even the choices on Larimer Square growing more thin, giving rise to the inability to get reservations at favorites like Tamayo and Rioja prior to a show. I go to performances frequently with friends, and despite my rule to avoid hotel restaurants (Former Saint is in the Hyatt Regency), I thought I'd scope out Former Saint as a place to take my friends before the next symphony or Children's Chorale or ballet or broadway performance. I must say, the jury is still out. Former Saint was a Jekyll and Hyde of courses. Parking was not difficult (Yay, maybe I can park here prior to my shows, if I grab a bite first). There is a large garage, and the promise of validation from the restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant is typical hotel restaurant. Booths, tables, old and a bit drab. Except for the bar. Oh, my! The bar has this BEAUTIFUL copper creation above it, adding so much industrial character to the space! I was in awe looking at it, as it appeared to bring craft suds to the bartender's taps. I didn't ask how it worked, as it wasn't clear how the beer separation and dispensing worked, but it was a great centerpiece and spectacle for the place. I do wish I had investigated more about this architectural marvel, and will do so if I return. For restaurant week, my husband chose the Lobster Ravioli, Ribeye, and blueberry cheesecake (as predicted). I chose the Gotham salad, roasted chicken, and key lime tart. The lobster ravioli was nice; my husband was surprised that it was a toasted ravioli, but enjoyed it. My salad was full of beautiful greens, pears, walnuts, and feta. No scrimping here! The dressing was light and sweet/sour. The pears were a bit unripe and crisp, to the point that I was having trouble identifying exactly what fruit I was eating, but other than that, the salad was beautiful, healthy, and ample. My husband's ribeye steak was a nice cut, done to his liking. Slivered hash browns were underneath with a nice green chimichurri on top and some sliced Fresnos adding a welcome kick to the dish. My chicken was delightful. 1/2 chicken on the bone, seasoned nicely, and with a pan sauce. The breast was super-tender and delicious. It came atop cheesy grits, which was a yummy substitute for a mashed potato. I also was served side salad of curly lettuce and fennel. I probably didn't need more salad, but I was glad to have the healthy side on my plate. I will say that this salad was over-seasoned. The chicken and grits were great, but the salad too salty. My husband ordered a glass of J. Lohr Cabernet, which was a very nice find on the wine list, as far as a pairing for his ribeye. That said, the glass cost $30! A bit much, I might say. The real detractor, unfortunately, was dessert. The blueberry cheesecake looked nothing like the beautiful creamy white cheesecake accented throughout by purple blueberries, which I saw on the CBS News clip. My husband was served a very small solid purple slice, overcome with whipped cream dollops. This cheesecake had been uncovered in the fridge too long, with sort of a skin on it. My husband ate almost none of it. My key lime tart was similarly over-adorned with whipped cream, although I had some nice raspberries on top. The tart also seemed overexposed to the cool air, with the thickening of a skin on top. It was a very disappointing way to end a nice meal, and belied the healthy, homemade, craft theme. High points of this experience include the well-crafted and healthy entrees, the fact that we could see the convention center right outside our window (i.e., the location is perfect for pre-event or -theater), the $3.00 validated parking fee, and that beautiful copper tap system. Will the pros outweigh the cons? Will we be back with friends? Time will tell.

The pancake crumbled as soon as you put syrup and tried to pick it up. The best part was the chicken sausage, which was served hot and not too salty or oily. The thing I like most about Death & Co is the way the categorize their drinks: Light and playful, bright and confident, elegant and timeless, boozy and honest, and rich and comforting. I had the aqua profunda (cognac, St. George basil eau di vie, lillet rose, strawberry, lime, and absinthe). I also had the eight limb daiquiri (rum, Canada aguardiente, Thai tea cordial, lime leaf, and Maraschino). The Blood Oath (mezcal, Vecchio del capo, Calabrian chili amaro, St. Germain Elderflower, lavender, honey, lemon). All were complex and delicious. You could pick out every flavor, yet everything melded together so well. They also have some basic bar food and snacks, but somewhat elevated. I had the D&C Burger and it was juicy, rich, and had some great accompanying fries. I usually try to give a more in depth idea of cocktails available, but Death & Co has such a diverse menu with so many amazing craft cocktails that I can't offer that this time . . . you'll have to go in and see it for yourself!

There is mainly street parking and we got lucky with a spot just down the street. The restaurant was already busy at 9am and had a long wait when we left. Testament to good restaurant and popular neighborhood. This is a brunch spot so come ready for breakfast and/or lunch grub. We were hungry and tried a bunch. The drip coffee & lattes were delicious (oat milk is available) and come in cute animal cups. We started with 2 of the sausage rolls which are akin to pigs in a blanket but much higher quality sausage in puff pastry served with syrup. Very good but nothing extraordinary. The small bite star is the spicy egg salad on crispy potato. These are divine with just enough spice to balance the creamy egg salad and insanely crunchy and delicious fried potato (like crispy rice but potato) We also shared a muffin of the day which rotates flavors. It was spectacular. The mortadella Sammy was fried and filling with a berry jam, cheese and egg. I had the egg over medium and it was messy in the best way. This is a sandwich to have extra napkins for. I'd 100% recommend it. The avocado toast was tasty and came with poached eggs (you can order one or two). Great food, service and vibes. Note there is a 20% service charge that is separate from tip, Our server did explain it when we first sat down so it wasn't hidden.
