My ex and I joined the Growler of the Month Club at Bigsby's back in 2020, during our first visit that summer. We loved the ambiance, feeling like we'd really discovered a gem off the beaten track, pun intended. By joining the club, it was a monthly excuse to plan a special night out to what became one of our favorite places for date night. It's been a couple of years now, but we had occassion to meet the owners, when we mistook their closing time for an hour later. The lights were still on, so we didn't realize our mistake, until they'd already invited us in to exchange our monthly growler with such warmth. Super nice people, reflecting the vibe we always felt on our other visits. The staff echoes that disposition, always friendly and knowledgeable. Though the winery isn't on-site, I've always been impressed with their tasting experience. I've now been a member for over 5 years, going in at least once a month, and they still suggest trying seasonal options and have broadened my palette... Though my ex and I have parted ways for a long while now and he moved away, he's kept our membership current, calling it my "alimony," and a nod to remembering the good times we had together. I recommend Bigsby's for all the good memories for all the folks, be it a lazy summer afternoon on the patio or a cozy evening in the lounge area with a glass of red when it's cold outside! read more

Had an awesome night at Bigsby's Folly. The vibe is cool, the wine selection is great, and the staff absolutely crushed it on a super busy night. Highly recommend the crudo -- fresh and has a great chili crunch. But the biggest surprise on the menu was the truffle grilled cheese... ridiculously good. We stopped in for a glass of wine on a weeknight because we heard from friends about how nice this place is. Checking in was simple, though they were busy when we arrived with a large group in the private back room. Service was great. The menu is also great. They have a fair amount of wine in their menu, but I didn't see names of wines (brands/names), so I asked and learned that they either make their own or work with others to make a wine for them. So, I chose their higher-end cab to try and it was pretty decent on the first few tastes. Slightly fruity, which I'm not too fond of. But noticed that overall it feel flat, yet it was decent, just not worth the price. We tried their choose three meat/cheese board and that was really nice! Wow! This place was exquisite. We selected Bigsby's for Denver Restaurant Week and it did not disappoint. Their regular menu includes amazing snacks and meals as well as flights of their wine and cocktails. For RW, Bigsby's had a flight paired with a small taste for each wine in the flight. The small tastes were well selected and paired perfectly with the wine. The kumquat is my new favorite add on! We sat at the bar and the bar stools were comfortable- iykyk. The bartender was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what we needed. We added an elote flatbread to our order and that was delicious as well. The place itself is well designed and offers indoor and outdoor seating. It is a great place for groups as well. Highly recommend and will go back to try another flight and delicious food. read more

We came for brunch and had a great time. The quiche was delicious, service was attentive, and the interior was really nice. I didn't realize they served brunch and it was pretty quiet right at opening time but it filled in a bit as we were leaving. Had a fun Restaurant Week experience with a Reserve Tasting and attentive service. My friend and I sat at the bar and were treated to a perfectly timed pairing of wine and bites. Five tastes with five bites and a dessert liqueur of your choice at $45 was worth it. Set under the giant chandeliers juxtaposed against the earthy wooden beams, Bigsby's Folly meets all sorts of tastes. Our server was knowledgeable on the wines and the food pairings. The way the dried kumquat offset the bitterness of the rosé was mind blowing, who would have thought of fennel shortbread with Pinot Noir, and crisp coffee braised pork belly with Malbec, chef's kiss! I was enjoying some beautiful weather on my last day in Denver and wandered over to the re-gentrified RiNo arts district (definitely worth a visit!). I happened upon this very delightful appearing wine bar very conveniently located right by the 35th st pedestrian bridge. I was impressed by the very cute outdoor patio and gorgeous interior with warm wood and gold tones! And the food menu was very expansive for a wine bar, so I decided to check it out. The wine list is not that varied, but I went for their flagship rock drill red blend, which will not be worth the price point for everyone. But I'd say it's worthy for anyone wanting a very bold, slightly angry tobacco and tannin slap in the face. Interesting! Unfortunately the service was the same flavor- with a clearly overwhelmed barkeep and disorganized staff who couldn't figure out who to help. My water glass sat empty for the rest of the night. It's really a shame because otherwise I think this would have been a most lovely evening. I didn't bother writing about the food because unfortunately no matter how tasty, it will not absolve the woefully inadequate service. If you come here, I hope you'll have a better experience. But to end on a positive note, the gentleman who runs the Tuesday night trivia is great!!! read more

What's better than a Saturday that starts at a winery and ends at the Denver Art Museum? I was doing my normal yelp restaurant cruising and saw good reviews around Bigsby's Folly so wanted to give it a try - we made a reservation and went in for brunch. Service was ok, but the restaurant ambiance is beautiful and it's in a cool part of the RiNo area. The menu is broad and the food and wine were very nice. We have been going to Bigsby's since they opened. It is our go-to in the neighborhood and is the right atmosphere for just about everything. We've gone for dates nights, celebrations, MotoGP races, and weathered some of our own personal challenges there too, like losing loved ones and navigating other stressful events. My wife and I always have lovely nights out here. Tucked away in the outskirts of Rhino district, I really like how well lit the street is . Added bonus is the access to the light rail and being next to a public parking garage, makes arriving here a cinch. Summer nights call for outdoor seating on the patio, while they do have plenty of seating indoor you can't go wrong with your date a large group... But being a novice wine drinker that I am I was happy to have our server explain and lead us to a nice flight of wine, and glass of Sangria. The selections would keep experienced wine drinkers happy. We accompanied our drinks with a charcuterie board, but they do have a full kitchen and desserts ready if you want to indulge some more. This is a cute winery tasting room. We came here for pre-dinner drinks and had a good time. They offer two tastings, which feature 5-6 wines, as well as optional food pairings. However, we decided to opt for the wine flights, since we only had an hour before our dinner reservation at another restaurant. Each flight came with three pours. Two of us opted for the sparkling wine flight, and one of us chose three reds. The wine was great, our server was friendly, and the space was beautiful. We noticed a private event in the back of the space, and this would be such a lovely place for a party or rehearsal dinner. We were seated at a large oval table near the door, which made it perfect for all of us to easily communicate. For drinks, most of us ordered Classic Wine Flight Trio, which included three (pretty generous) pours of any three non-reserve wines for just $14. I can't remember what my first wine was (wasn't that into it), but I did love the Cabernet Sauvignon and Everyday Porch Pounder. For food, we decided to order a bunch of plates to share - the Truffle Popcorn (just okay but I'm not big on popcorn), Burrata (my favorite, so good), Fromage Platter (yum), and Southwest Goat Cheese Dip (a group favorite). My friends also ended up trying the Smoked Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies, which were apparently delicious and the Chocolate Cheesecake. We could see all the people in the private party that was roped off. Husbands were wine snobs but were excited when they saw beer offered on the menu. Overall not impressed and won't be back. Made a reservation on a Saturday for my sister's bachelorette Party. We were a group of 4 and got easily seated but placed in the back. Out server, light brown hair and has flower tattoos on her wrist and hand was the most lackluster person and clearly didn't want to be there. Didn't say her name, told her it's my sister's bday AND bachelorette and she didn't even say the obligatory niceties of "congrats". Didn't walk us through the menu basically just showed up and asked what we wanted to order like I'm sorry am I at a fast food restaurant or doing wine tasting? She had absolutely no knowledge on the wine when we asked her questions and overall just had an attitude. Tasting pairings are small its really meant to just be a bite. I saw they added a 4.5% surcharge for living wages aka they can't pay their employees so we have to? Be on the look for that we didn't notice until after it was charged. The only reason this place isn't getting a 1 star from me is the value. $39 for 5 glasses of wine with food pairings is pretty good and they were decent pours. They claim to have the "authenticity and tradition of California's most prestigious vineyards" sorry honey, I'm from the Napa area not even close. If you're actually a wine connoisseur, and would like to be treated like a decent human being from your server, don't come here. read more

One of our first stops in Denver was to check out the craft winery and breweries and Bigsby's Folly was next in line. I ordered the wine flight and ended up with their Zinfandel. I forget that Zinfandels are red, when I normally see them as pink! It's a must try and it's very tasty. My boyfriend ordered the Nitro C Amber and it was some good beer! We ordered the wild boar meatball and the mushroom bruschetta. I was underwhelmed by both dishes. The meatball tasted like a meatloaf with so much breading in it. The server confirmed with us that it was gluten free, but it should be called a meatloaf than a meatball. The mushroom bruschetta was just ok. It didn't taste like it was cooked since it was still a bit chewy. You're biting into goat cheese and mushroom. I'd also prefer that the bread was slightly more toasted for that crunch. read more

One of our go-to date night spots - we LOVE the atmosphere and vibes here. Great spots for weddings, parties, friends, family, coworkers and dates. Easy to find free parking - it's a bit away from the downtown walking scene and near by Zeppelin station. We recommend reservations on Fridays and weekends with larger groups. EPP is my go to red wine - but it's also everyone's favorite and sometimes they tap out for the evening. Cabernet Sauvignon would be my second go-to. Our go-to order - Cheese plate - we always ask for chef choice by the funkiest cheese. Why not since it's smaller portions so it's all worth trying something new than the standards. It includes pickles veggies, almonds, house-made mustard, and warmed baguette. I love their bread portions here - much friendly and heartier than the others. Service - we always seat at the bar so it can get busy from time to time. The staff is always crushing it so be patient if they are also serving a large group or party. Be prepared to uber there and back as the pours are generous. It was a really pleasant experience and the wines were lovely. The food was not the highlight and were more of an afterthought. Disappointed. In January, I came to celebrate my birthday with friends, and we were all thinking we would be enjoying a nice dinner plate with some great wine. The website stated at the time, they had risotto and also listed different dishes. My surprise was that the menu on the website was old and no longer offered risotto.
