So, my partner and I already are fans of this place. She has celiac and is very sensitive to gluten. This trip we got their mozzarella sticks, a chicken parm pizza and a big Mac pizza in their style. The chicken parm pizza is already delicious, and looking at it only makes you crave it more. This is the first time we've seen their big Mac pizza, and holy crap it tasted like a proper transformation from Burger to pizza. Everything down to the sauce, I couldn't deny it. As usual, the folks working were very accommodating and reassuring they could in fact create the food safely, and as usual we couldn't finish it in one sitting. From the heels of Marco's Coal Fired Pizza comes Dough Counter. A more fast(er) casual pie shop with the many familiar tastes of the LoDo version of the restaurant. We were greeted as we walked in. I initially thought it was waiter service but turns out you order everything at the counter. No big deal. Ordered a salad, a supreme pizza and two drinks. That's not where the experience ends though. While the vinaigrette on dressing seemed a bit too tart, the shaved cheese bits seemed to balance it out. Next time, certainly will try a different salad. The pizza though, ohhhh damn how it left a smile on my face. A heavenly balance of sauce, dough and toppings. I was certainly tempted to buy another one for Super Bowl Sunday! I refrained. haha. Stopped by with the family and found easy parking, which was a great start. The place is clean and has a few spots to sit, but the counter service was pretty rude, which was really disappointing. ​TIp: they don't do just slices at night, so you have to order a whole pizza (two 4 slice Sicialians worked for us). Wow - this is the best pizza I've had while living in Denver! I have had multiple cheese pies from here, along with trying many of their specialty flavors, and everything I have had has been incredible. For the plain cheese pizza, this is easily the closest thing to an authentic New York-style slice I have had in Denver. I also love Sicilian pizza, and this is definitely top notch. I am not one to deviate from a plain pie, but the specialty pies here are amazing - especially the Triple Threat and Chicken Parm. They have amazing gluten-free and celiac safe options which is incredible for pizza. I did try some and it is easily the best gluten free pizza I have ever tried. My only gripe would be the location. There is usually a lot of traffic in the area which can make getting the pizza a 30+ minute ordeal which might not be hot be ideal especially if doing take-out. I don't live in Denver so was very excited to be nearby and get the chance to grab dinner - I'd seen their social media posts about having a ton of gluten free options, with care taken to prevent cross contamination for those with celiac and allergies.
