Great spot! I wasn't real familiar with Venezuelan food aside from the occasional arepa but this place is solid and I highly recommend. Go here. Do it. Right meow

Catira is a really unique, delicious Venezuelan restaurant with high quality, well priced food and great service. I've been there twice now and like that you can get a smaller entree (still plenty of food) for a good price. I really like their signature cocktail "Catira", not too sweet and complements their food really well. The last time I went I ordered the cheese empanada, and my son ordered the place with tostones and beef. The service is great, and our server even apologized to us (she initiated this) for the food taking a long time to come out. It did not seem like too long for me, but I appreciated the comment as the restaurant was busy that night. It made me very aware that she wanted us to have a great customer experience. They refilled my son's soda multiple times and service was top notch!

We ordered takeout from Catira and definitely will be coming back. We tried the tostones, empanada clásica, arepa blondie, arepa clásica, and the classic plate with chicken. Everything was so flavorful; it's hard to pick a favorite. I think though mine was the empanada clásica. I also really loved the salsa that came with the tostones. Definitely recommend Catira!

Brunch was fantastic! Catira is already a favorite but we came back for their first day of brunch and it did not disappoint! Yummy food and a mimosa cooler(!) - a must go!

You know, we had a really good experience here. Growing up in South Florida with Cuban grandparents, the style of food felt very similar to what I ate as a kid. The arepas were stuffed, fresh, and delicious, and the cachapa was just as good as everyone says. They also have plenty of great custom cocktails. If I had one critique, it would be that we felt slightly rushed to order and turn the table. I understand people are often in a hurry because of the comedy club nearby, but we weren't. That said, we will definitely be back and wish them lots of success. Fun atmosphere!!

Please, please get the Cachapa with Beef here!! Do yourself a favor and listen to me! This dish was the bomb! The saltiness of the beef blended perfectly with the sweetness of the Cachapa! You need both to have that flavor bomb!! I would definitely come back just for this dish!

Monalisa drink - I'm a mezcal gal and love anything guava. It tasted as good as I imagined

I loved the mini empanadas, you can get multiple to taste different ones and not stuff yourself The tequeños were also delicious. My husband had the Pabellón Criollo and ate it so fast, didn't leave a crumb lol I love mezcal and guava so I had to try the Monalisa cocktail, and it was perfection. The decor is so cute and lovely. The waiters were very prompt with orders and friendly. Really nice place! Too bad I live in downtown Denver or I'd come more often.

    Bellies full, hearts full too.

Our first and only (SO FAR!) experience of Catira began with a warm greeting by who we quickly discovered was the Owner, Manuel. From that moment on, our Catira dining experience was extraordinary... drinks, apps, dinner, and dessert = DELICIOUS. service by all members of wait staff (they all truly operate together and respect one another as a team - several members of the team said so!) = INSPIRING. ambiance = COLORFUL AND IMMERSIVE. owner story = HEARTWARMING. Basically, we're fans. :) (Picture of my husband and me with our couple friends!)

Came here at the tail end of happy hour on a Monday with our infant and friends and had a great time! I made a reservation due to wanting to make sure there was a table to accommodate our stroller but for that day/time it probably wasn't needed. Our server was very sweet, attentive and personable and the decor was fun and unique. They also had outdoor seating available which seemed popular. No food specials for HH but we did take advantage of the 2 catira cocktails for $15 which were refreshing and perfect for a summer evening. I'm a one cocktail kinda gal these days so my second bevvie was passionfruit juice and oh man... delicious. My husband had the el jefe (think old fashioned with rum) which was also quite good. The food really shines here and I'm obsessed. We started with the tequeños and cachapa and were not disappointed. Our party ordered a number of different arepas and empanadas and I heard only good feedback, though if you're hungry and thinking you'll eat 3+, it won't be a cheap meal. Personally I had the clásica arepa with guasacaca (I'm a sucker for plantains) which seemed to be the overall winner and caribeña empanada with cilantro garlic. Everything came out quickly and was hot n' fresh. I have only one complaint about my experience and it's that there were no changing tables in either bathroom. Luckily our little one didn't need to be changed, but I'm not sure what we would've done if there was a need. I feel like this would be a low cost improvement that would make parents exceedingly happy. I'd love to come back, but this will make me hesitate a little given the inconvenience.

My first time eating Venezuelan. A bunch of their dishes resemble Mexican with a different twist. The restaurant has nice inviting decor. Our server Kenna was super nice and attentive. We ordered the táquenos which tasted like cheese sticks with a different outer texture. We also ordered the chicken arepa which tasted like a Gordita. It was very tasty. Lastly we got the Quesillo for dessert which was like flan. I also got a mango margarita which was pretty strong. Very good food for the price.

My husband and I were craving Venezuelan food--specifically tequeños and cachapas--so we found a spot about 25 minutes from our house and decided to give it a try. Safe to say, it was an amazing decision. This place is the real deal . I love how they make Venezuelan food feel approachable and shareable. We ordered tequeños, empanadas (the chicken was our favorite), a cachapa, and tostones--and everything was incredible. The tequeños were probably the highlight for me: perfectly crispy with light, fluffy cheese that was bursting with flavor. I'm already planning to go back to try the salads and cocktails. The owners are kind and hardworking, the food is phenomenal, and the whole place gives off tropical beach vibes that instantly reminded me of everything I love about Venezuela.

I was beyond excited hearing Catira- a Venezuelan restaurant- was coming to the Texh Center. Decor is bright and vivid, music is Bad Bunny, and food is AMAZING!!!! We got tequenos (fried cheese in breading), a blonde arepa (chicken and Gouda cheese) and the corn/cheese pancake. All was sooooo tasty! There's a patio too. This will definitely be a spot to visit in the summer months.

Wow what an experience! Catira is locations in a busy Greenwood Village shopping center area that has and mainly restaurants and Comedy works. We were greeted and ordered or drinks - I got a Mamacita. It was so good I ordered another about halfway through our meal. I have never been to a Venezuelan restaurant before so I was very unfamiliar with the menu. The waitresses we had were fantastic! They continuously checked in our table and when they weren't the owner, Manuel did. We got: Cachapa to share which was unique, flavorful and downright delish! I got a Blondie empanada and a Clasica empanada both were impressive. They were larger then I expected so I am glad I only order two. My friend got an arepas and she too was impressed with the size and fullness. She tho if it was very good. We didn't feel rushed but rather well attended to. We hadn't seen each other in months so we wanted to sit and chat after our meal. Manuel came over and checked on us and chatted with us. He explained the story behind the restaurant concept and the wall of photos in the hallway to the bathroom (which are of his Venezuelan family). He was a delight to chat with. We needed up being there for over 2 hours. A truly wonderful concept, experience, and perfect location. I can't wait to go back and try a few more dishes that caught my eye!

Last Sunday (on the day many were getting ready for their Super Bowl gatherings), I was busy running some errands in Sunnyside neighborhood. All of a sudden, the thought of eating to entertain my 70% empty stomach hit me, I searched for the word "empanada" as I wanted some finger food and this restaurant came up in my search. Upon finding out that it was about 5-10 minutes away from where I was, it was a no brainer to me. This is a Venezuelan restaurant with almost 5-star review. Not knowing much about Venezuelan cuisine, my first thought was that they might have similar dishes as the surrounding South American countries like Columbia do. But most of all, I was so eager to try their empanadas. I've had Argentinian, El Salvadorian, Columbian and Nicaraguan versions of empanadas in the past. I wondered how different Venezuelan ones would be... I was warmly greeted by a young lady upfront upon arrival. This is a small/family style restaurant. The number of tables is very limited but you can sit outside as long as the weather permits. There was a large table of 7-9 people having a birthday party. I think I hit the place during the peak lunch time. Their empanadas are priced at $8 range. This was a bit pricey to me at the first glance but since I didn't know what kind of portion size they'd be made in, I thought I'd give them a try. I got me Reina Pediada, Sweet Domino and Fish. The total came to $27 with some change. Yup, you usually don't pay this much for a few to several empanadas but hey, like I said, I decided not to judge at that point. The young lady who took my order impressed me with some careful attention to detail. I placed my sunglasses at the ordering counter where the space was very limited. She had to move them just a little when she placed the credit card receipt for me to sign it. "I worked in the optics before." is what she said when she gently placed my sunglasses a little to the side in a very careful way. What a kind/considerate gesture that was! This kind of minor and yet incredible care didn't escape my notice. Thank you!!! When my food was ready, the same young lady handed me my bag. It was quite heavy. As soon as I got to my car, I opened it and there they were; my beautiful empanadas were large and dense/heavy!! They appeared to be all deep-fried so I wonder if Venezuelan style empanadas are all that way? Not sure. Anyway, I was on my way to a job duty so I had to eat quickly. I started to take a bite out of each one and ohhh yes, they were dense with a lot of fillings inside. Although I must frankly say that I like the flaky baked kind of empanadas more, these Venezuelan ones were equally impressive. Yes, this was a surprise find. I will definitely stop by here when I'm in the neighborhood for sure.
