Friendly, welcoming, provided great recommendations and was able to handle the influx of patrons that flooded in after us. Being the sober girl that I am now, I'm always up for a fun mocktail and Fellow Traveler has one hell of a menu! An entire page is dedicated to all zero proof spirit cocktails, beers, sodas and teas. Suchchoices! Their regular menu is dense too - so there is truly something for everyone! I opted to sip on Nectar of the Gods - grapefruit, lemon, pickle brine, simple & soda, which was sweet, tart and so good! For a second round, I sampled the Peach Bellini, which was not as bubbly as I'd prefer, but delicious nonetheless! My sister sipped on full strength beverages and happily enjoyed them! ++ The food menu is huge and ever-changing. I had looked at the menu in advance convinced I knew my order - but landed on a series of appetizers and entrees to share. We started with the Ft Crunch Salad (gf) - cabbage, carrot, Brussels edamame, mandarin oranges, scallions, crispy rice w/ choice of sesame ginger or nori ranch and the Tom Kha Cauliflower (gf) - coconut lemongrass marinade, sweet sriracha, herbs and OH MY GOD, I DREAM ABOUT THESE TWO ITEMS. The salad was crisp and refreshing, filled with insane flavor and the juicy ginger dressing was fantastic. The cauliflower was INSANE in that it was perfectly fried, drizzled with the most delicious sauce and filling! SO good! ++ Pricing is reasonable in this economy and didn't break the bank! CONS: --- For our entrees, we decided on Garden of Olive Pasta - cavatappi noodles, white bean & toasted fennel puree, crispy Brussels, olive, herbs, lemony soft cheeze and the Buffalo of the Sea Sandwich - buffalo marinated fried oyster mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, onion, dill pickled celery, remoulade served w/ fries. These two items we were a little less impressed with as the flavors of pasta blended, well, interestingly, almost smokey and earthy with a weird blend of seasonings. It definitely left us with an awkward taste in our mouth, but when mixed together well with the cheeze, it was a little better. The sandwich came out HUGE, almost impossible to get our mouths around, so we cut it in half and smushed it down to attempt the largest bite ever. The mushrooms were very crispy in an over-fried kind of way, which wasn't our favorite. The fries were good though! --- Parking can be a bit tough considering its primarily street parking, but when you see a spot, snag it. It was a mood dampener because the textures were amazing and the fries were perfect. However the rosemary peach Bellini was super flavorless, nothing about it gave peach Bellini. I don't know why it's taken me so long to check out Fellow Traveler. It's in the neighborhood, my wife has eaten there with friends and liked it, but for whatever reason I was late to the party. What a fantastic spot to have nearby. I visited on a Sunday evening, so it was a bit quiet, but that was just what I was in the mood for. It's a comfortable space with a nice bar and nearby tables. Both the bartender and server who took care of me were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. The summer cocktail specials all looked great and I really enjoyed the lemon gin gimlet I finally settled on. Very refreshing, nicely balanced, and served in a vintage looking cocktail glass. It went well with the double Impossible cheeze burger and fries I ordered. Sort of like a not very sweet grown up lemonade and burger pairing. The combination of caramelized onions, cheesy sauce, and pickle slices on the burger was really good. And the fries were a great vehicle for scooping up some of the sauce that ended up on the plate as I enjoyed the burger. I've been wanting to try Fellow Traveler for a while, and tonight was finally the night. I ordered delivery and got the Fried Cornbread and the Deep South Broadway Burrito. I opted to get the savory cornbread option, but mine definitely had cinnamon sugar on it. That said, holy cow, words cannot express how good the fried cornbread is! Even though it had cinnamon sugar on it, it still worked with the habanero jam dip. As for the burrito, it was jam packed and had a ton of flavor. Everything was delicious, and I can't believe it took me so long to try this place! Our second visit felt a bit like a place a little overwhelmed. Maybe Taco Tuesday created a perfect storm. The paper menus were ragged - a sign of lack of care to detail. Service started out good but near the end of our meal we had to signal we needed attention a couple times. The food was decent but overall not on par with our last visit just 2 months ago. My date and I stumbled upon this place mid December (of 2024) after an extremely filling meal we ate at the Asian restaurant three or four doors down (or up!) I was too hungry to consume alcohol along with the meal I had there so both he and I saved our appetite for alcohol later so accidentally finding this place right after it convenienced us. It looks so inviting from outside; and we sensed a great vibe emitting from the bar area which we saw it through the windows. We were compelled to stop by and check it out!! We grabbed a comfy-looking couch right at the window where we could do people watching. A lady from the bar came to us with waters and menus immediately after we had sat. My date told her "We are here for a couple of drinks only" to which she replied "No problem!" She was pleasant and friendly throughout our entire stay. We perused the menu and we found just what we'd hoped to find: a nice red wine for me and an IPA for him. The lady came back and took our order soon after. My French blend and his IPA hit the spot. As much as I want to elaborate more on his beer (which I only took a few sips of) I can elaborate a bit about the red blend. Chateaux Beaubois (as of mid Dec 2024) is/was $12 per glass. Excellent red blend with some fruitiness that hit my palette at the first sip. Medium bodied and yet it's got some depth to it where it's not flat in any way. I later looked it up online and I' sad to say that it's not sold at any of the local stores (so online shops only.) Well, it's alright. I just have to go back here to taste it if I want it again. Like I said, we didn't order any food at our visit. I later learned that this place is more of a vegetarian/vegan focused restaurant. This resonates with me greatly as I'm always on a hunt for healthy food options. It's so fun to Yelp because whenever I discover a new place like this it's my service to tell others about it. It was crowded as it was a Saturday night but DANI served us in the lounge as we awaited our table. Once seated we made our selections of food and beverage. Unlike most restaurants the choice of beverages is extensive. Beer, wine and designer cocktails. For starters we order the totally amazing Fried Cornbread with Habanero Jam and Loaded Asada Fries. Both were very delicious. For our main course we ordered the Deep South Broadway Burrito and the Double Onion Cheeseburger with a side of fries. As we consumed our Super Delicious dinner looking around I noticed everyone had a smile on their face. Looking for a vegan spot while visiting from FL and found Fellow Traveler. We had no idea what to expect, and it's in a little strip area middle of town. We were delightfully surprised to find a beautiful, serene, clean restaurant attractively decorated with plants and wood everywhere, with a nice looking, long bar. The bartender was also our server and brought water. He was quite knowledgeable and advised us on our choices. We started with the Cornbread, which was super crunchy on the outside and wonderfully soft and corny tasting on the inside. The pepper jam it came with was delish as well. For entrees, I ordered the Chilaquiles, not knowing what to expect. They are basically nachos, loaded with tofu, beans, green chili sauce, a crema, and cheese sauce. The green chili sauce was delicious and spicy (which our server advised us about). It was a huge portion, so lots to take home! Hubby had the Smash Burger and fries. The fries were a little soggy/greasy, but we agreed that the burger was quite literally the best burger we have ever had as a vegan. Simply delicious. Daughter had the Mac and Cheese, and enjoyed it, but wasn't the best she has had. She loved the spiral noodles in it though. We will def be back - I want that burger!! We had such a lovely experience here. The server was wonderful - very attentive. If you get nothing else - get the cauliflower. It was so delicious. It was the star of the meal and we tried many things. The tacos had good flavor but they were the least memorable item we had. Pineapple fried rice - YUM!!! I also had a phenomenal old fashioned as well. As a gluten-free person it was a carefully selected restaurant and 60% of the menu is gluten-free but another 30% could be made to be gluten-free. I was not expecting this cute, trendy, hipster, place from the unassuming front but it was wonderful. I wished that I had more time in Denver to be able to make it to their brunch; next time? Came here with my husband for date night, and we had so much fun! It's a cozy spot, but to be honest it feels a little more causal than what I'd want. I think they should add some cozy booth seating, or some more cushions on the chairs. We sat at the bar, which you dont' need to be cozy, but I felt the rest of the spot was just a little stark feeling. However, the food & drinks were amazing & definitely made up for any potential lacking vibes. It's a vegan restaurant, so I'm always curious to see how these spots spruce up/add creativity & flavor to any dish they create. We tried a few items and loved everything we ate & drank. The smashburger was soooo good & the fries were cooked delicious & crisp - a sign of a place that knows what they're doing! One of my family members decided to pursue a more plant based diet, so we have recently been trying many vegan friendly establishments. Though I have been impressed by some of the meat substitutes I've tried, as someone who has been a dietary chef for years- I appreciate when a restaurant can use whole ingredients to create a complete meal with protein, starch, and fiber. We ordered off the happy hour menu and shared avocado tacos, poutine, and cauliflower wings. I enjoyed the wings so much I ordered another round! The Poutine gravy is made with a silky cashew cream where you do not miss the dairy at all. The avocado tacos were also great, I just needed a little more seasoning. After hearing multiple rave reviews, I knew I had to make a visit to Fellow Traveler! As family was in town, we decided to make the stop in and it was a great choice. Many delicious options that hit the spot. The bar was so cute, and they had tons of cocktails (and mocktails!) as options. A Malört bar. Not the only one in the world, but in the name of all that is holy hopefully the only one in Denver. The bartender Tanner taught me that the much malïgned tipple is a form of a Swedish wormwood liquor called "Besk" and not just some cruel joke played on the rest of us by Chicago. There are four varieties here and my favorite is called letherbee besk. Kind of what you would expect but maybe a little more refined and intricate. Their margarita special was an apple cinnamon variation that he suggested with mezcal instead of tequila. Great rec since the smokiness of the mezcal matched the spices. Bonus - if you strip you get a free shot...give them a photo strip. They have a fun photo booth in the back and if you give them one of your photo strips, you get a choice of whiskey, vodka, or limoncello.
