By far best value breakfast in Denver. Portions to price ratio is unmatched and the food is good. What stood out is that at that price point you expect zero frills and no thrills but Alameda Cafe adds their own twist to traditional breakfasts to ensure they stand out. I've come to my senses that I love beans and eggs for breakfast. So Mexican breakfast is perfect. Came on a Sunday morning and did not have to wait to get seated. Parking lot is small but there is street parking within a block. Service was quick and attentive. Prices are great for brunch and the food is good. We got tamales, a smothered burrito, flautas, berry waffle, and huevos divorciados. Got some coffee as well, and they do a great job of making sure it's full with the refills. We will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes. read more

This place is a true gem, it hasn't been around for long but I know they've got a new regular. The chilaquiles divorciados passed the Burqueña test. complemented by the Alameda French toast provided a perfect balance of sweet and savory. I enjoyed the rustic fall ambiance, hand carved Jesus statues with a touch of Halloween, a haunted doll, a mini pumpkin on each table. Exceeded all expectations! read more

This place is absolutely spectacular. It's a very quaint hole in the wall with first rate Mexican style breakfasts. The staff were friendly and welcoming and our server was attentive and efficient. We found this place completely by accident and were glad we did. My wife and I really enjoy these authentic, Mexican owned, restaurants as the food is always incredible. They even know how to make a simple, ultra fluffy pancake. The portions were large and the bill was very reasonable. Parking in the street kinda sucked as I always fear someone will sideswipe my car. It's a really small place but we were seated right away. The weekends might not be that simple. If you're looking for real Mexican inspired breakfast foods, this is the place. read more

The menu offered a good variety of both standard breakfast items and Mexican dishes. Our group tried several different dishes. The eggs, bacon and sausage were perfectly cooked.The house fried potatoes were nice and crispy, the pancakes were light and fluffy, the chile rellenos were great and the green chili was VERY good. Biscuits and gravy were a little bland and could have used more sausage in the gravy. The service was excellent! The prices very reasonable. Today was my 3rd time trying to eat at this restaurant. The first time service was horrible, we waited at the door over 5 minutes before even being acknowledged. Once seated, we ordered mimosas that contained fruit flies. We did get new drinks when addressed... Staff then waited a long time to take our order. The second time was better, we didn't have a long wait to place our order. Today, we entered, we were able to sit where we wanted. It was at least 5 minutes before we got a menu to look over. Keep in mind the restaurant was not busy whatsoever.... We looked over the menu and knew right away what we wanted to order... at least 10 minutes past and the waitress did not ask us for even our drink order. Looking around every table had their food... we waited at least another 5 minutes and still no acknowledgment, being a polite person we waited at least 20 minutes and STILL no acknowledgement!!!! We decided to walk out!! We tired to give this place our service and be patient and polite, but receiving such poor service for a second time is just unacceptable. I also recommend friends to try the restaurant and they experienced the same lack of service. To sum this up, the first time we were ignored we walked out, the waitress asked us to not leave, the second time was not an issue, today was a huge disappointment! What a great find! Sunday brunch around 12:30 and busy, but only 5 min wait. Food was excellent and fresh. I had the Mexican skillet. The molcajete sauce was amazing! My partner had the Alameda skillet and loved the flavors. We saw some good looking pancakes on another table while waiting and had to try them. They were the best restaurant pancakes we've had in ages! The service was quick and friendly, and the coffee was kept full. Abby, the manager, was everywhere and it shows in how efficient this restaurant runs. Thank you for a great meal. We will be back and will tell all of our friends. read more

We pass by the Alameda Cafe all the time and say, "we should try that". For a while we just didn't make time but now that we have, it is one of our favorite brunch spots! Super fluffy pancakes, piping hot coffee, attentive and welcoming service. We have been a few times and have always been greeted and seated quickly and the food is a standout. No place is perfect, though. Last weekend my husband's sunny side up eggs were almost raw and the server was a little quick on the draw for the bill. She set it down before we were done and checked it a few times as we were still eating. No big deal as the rest of the meal was superb and he was already full. And as for the bill, It's very possible that she didn't realize out of habit (it is a small restaurant) or that her shift was ending but we will definitely forgive these minor anomalies as they have a really great restaurant here. Next time we will try lunch or their new dinner service. Definitely give the Alameda Cafe a try! read more

We stopped in early Saturday morning-- I think we were the first ones. I had the French toast combo and my dining partner had the steak breakfast burrito. Both were excellent (and large).
