Necio Mexican kitchen, it's my third time making it here (birthday celebration). I can set it in stone that their food is average at best, their drinks are awesome and service is good. read more

oscar took care of us, great food would go back again 10/10 and would absolutely recommend to everyone in the Denver area!

This is a local, vibrant, neighborhood restaurant located in Northwest Denver (Sunnyside / LoHi border) known for its modern take on authentic regional Mexican cuisine and lively atmosphere. You feel the energy both inside and the patio. They just celebrated their 10 years anniversary the day we visited them. This past Saturday. I wish them all the best! Cuisine & Highlights The menu draws inspiration from South, Central, and Northern Mexican traditions, offering a range of classic and specialty dishes alongside expansive drink options: * Menu Specialties: Generous street taco options (Chicken Tinga, Al Pastor, Pork Belly, Carne Asada, Soyrizo), smothered burritos, enchiladas, sopes, and seafood items like ceviche and Tacos Gobernador. * Dietary Accommodations: Notable for its surprisingly strong selection of dedicated vegetarian and vegan options, including plant-based enchiladas, soyrizo, and appetizers clearly marked or adaptable. * Brunch & Drinks: Features weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas, slushy margaritas, and an impressive selection of tequilas. This was our first stop while traveling to Denver! We are staying at an Airbnb in Sunnyside and needed a landing spot to wait until our space was ready. This was a great lunch, they were able to seat our large party on the patio very quickly! A few of us ordered burritos, tacos, and a few quesadillas. All agreed it was delicious! Would recommend if you're looking for a cute patio to enjoy the nice summer weather. read more

Came here for brunch on a busy Saturday afternoon with a group of 6 to celebrate my friend's birthday and Necio did not disappoint. The food came out shockingly fast, the drinks were strong and generously poured, and the menu had so many options it felt like a choose-your-own-brunch-adventure (with no bad endings). The real highlight for me was the skillet hash my partner ordered. Sure I committed to the protein bomb that was the Philly Cheesesteak omelette, but one look at that bubbling skillet loaded with cheese, potatoes, fajitas, chorizo, and topped with a runny yolk practically begging to be broken...and my fork developed a mind of its own. I tried to be polite, but let's be honest, we were sharing the second it hit the table. Drinks were flowing, portions were generous, and everyone left full and happy. Big points for the vibe and the service too, our server was super attentive even while juggling what looked like half of Sunnyside. The only reason for the missing star was that we had made a reservation online and even confirmed it over the phone, but when we showed up they couldn't find it. Bit of a plot twist but luckily we only waited about 10 minutes so no hangry crash outs from our side. I'll definitely be back (probably with a screenshot of my res in hand and an extra fork ready for the hash)!! read more

Amazing food, the chorizo was delicious in our food. Salsa had so much flavor. I enjoyed everything being so fresh and healthy. I wish I would have tried some of their sweet pancakes or French toast though! Great service - our waiter was very amicable & I loved that he was able to speak with us in English & Spanish. The outdoor seating area was BEAUTIFUL! It was great to enjoy the beautiful weather outside with the flowers around on the patio. It is also Slightly covered which helps protect from the sun Would definitely come back again if I lived in Colorado :) read more

So disappointed. Service was terrible. We got called saying our table was ready-Waited another 20 minutes until it was actually ready. Finally got seated. We had to go grab our own menus. And then had to let the staff know we were sitting for over a half hour without anyone showing up, other than the woman refilling water. My food was great. My husband's was clearly sitting under the warmer for a while (chimichanga) that had way too much cheese. The queso tasted like it was from a can you'd expect at a Rockies game.Completely overpriced for lack of service and mediocre food. Not going back. read more

Necio is a spot I go to every now and again. Great micheladas and decent food! Went for brunch one time and it was great! It can get a little busy but we got a spot easily. Recently, we went for a birthday dinner and it was fantastic. I got enchiladas and my partner got tacos. The enchiladas were fantastic. Necio is a good place for Mexican food with a decent bar. read more

Need brunch plans? Say less. Necio in Sunnyside is family-owned and just dropped a bunch of new brunch items that had me ready to cancel the rest of my day. Let's dig in! what we tried: Queso Fundido: melted asadero, chorizo, jalapeños, cilantro, and flour tortillas--basically a warm hug in a skillet Barbacoa Hash Skillet: country potatoes, bell peppers, tender beef barbacoa, topped with eggs and no bad decisions Molcajete Flight: three baby tortas living their best lives with steak & beans, eggs & chorizo, rajas & cheese Chilaquiles de Ribeye: yes, there's ribeye on this chilaquiles mountain and no, I'm not sharing Necio Benedict: poached egg on jalapeño cheddar cornbread, smothered in hollandaise--respectfully, wow Tres Leches Pancakes: soft, milky, sweet--aka dangerous. They hand you extra condensed milk like they know who you are Cajeta Stuffed French Toast: brioche + cajeta + cookie crumble = sugar high of dreams Tamarind Margarita: spicy, tangy, salty, and topped with tamarindo strings--flavor explosion in a glass Michelada: bold, savory, rimmed with Mexican candy, and yes that is a slice of bacon Grapefruit, orange, and cranberry mimosas: choose your fighter best bites: The tres leches pancakes were criminally good and I was full and still kept going like it was a food challenge. The barbacoa skillet? Flavorful, tender, and those over easy eggs brought it all together like a brunch symphony and I was in the first row. And the tamarind marg? Top-tier. I'm still thinking about her. I miss her. Chef Luis just rolled out the new brunch menu, so make plans and go hungry. You're gonna leave full and happy. read more

What a complete shit show!!! Who is managing this place? It's like being at a club with the music choice and volume. The hostess/manager is a complete moron who can't multitask. This place is not for a family gathering, after church establishment. What a f'd up atmosphere read more

How cute is this place?! Stopped in for a quick drink before dinner and am sad we had dinner reservations because I wanted to try the food. It all looked and smelled amazing. Not super busy for a Tuesday night, so staff were super nice and helpful. Had the Necio-Rita- half price on happy hour btw- and it was tasty!! Tajin rimmed on the rocks was the way to go. Will definitely be back to try the food along with another margarita. read more

Oscar was great! My friends and I had a casual brunch and all the staff was so nice, definitely will come back.

Stopped in for a quick beverage. Service was super friendly. Happy hour runs 3-6pm Tuesday thru Friday with both beverages and bites. The Necio-Rita (House Margarita) is a smooth blend of Herradura Reposado tequila, Cointreau, and fresh lime juice. A steal at $7! It's kept cool in an adorable clay pot. We skipped the chips and salsa since we were headed to dinner but they looked good. Love the Mona Lisa in a sombrero over the bar! read more

Great vibe great place. Jason was a great server. If your near sunny side it's a must stop.

I was honestly pretty disappointed about taking my friend here. First time I came, it was pretty decent Mexican food and okay service. This time, I ordered the "Necio Trio" of dips/sauces with my chips-- the cheese tasted store bought, the ceviche tasted like a Bloody Mary sauce, and the guac was the only thing that was okay. The SERVICE was AWFUL. There were maybe 7 tables full at this restaurant and it took probably 50 min to get our actual meal, thank goodness they offered chips. Really wish the service was better here. And food. read more

Amazing service! Our host denis was wonderful. We came to eat with my family and had a wonderful time with good music.

Love this neighborhood restaurant! Excellent food and atmosphere. The drinks and enchiladas are to die for. Jason was great!

Im very glad I gave Necio another chance as my second experience was much better that my first, md given how busy they are, is probably more indicative of a typical experience. We ordered ceviche to start and is was pretty good and was a huge portion. Then we shared the combination fajitas, which were also a nice portion. All of the steak and chicken and shrimp were good- sometimes I feel like restaurants use their trash meat for fajitas but not Necio. The margaritas were the right balance between tasty and strong. Finally, our server, Andres, was very nice and we appreciated the great service! read more

Francisco had excellent service!!! Thank you! Food was pretty good and the drinks got me lit! Vibes were 10/10 great time!

Long time customer. Really disappointed with this last visit. Ordered food to go online...40-45 minute wait. Arrive at the 45 minute mark. They said their system wasn't working all day, so they didn't have it, and I needed to reorder. Things happen but there was no apology or remorse. We got offered a glass of water to wait another 15-20 minutes for our food. If your system is down, don't accept to-go orders online. I guess it's too much to ask for a worker or manager to come say, "we're so sorry. We're embarrassed that we don't have your order ready. Please forgive us and we'll have your order out shortly."Customer service is just non-existent these days. We ordered 2 chicken quesadillas. One had sauce and one didn't. Will go elsewhere in the future. read more

The food was good and the drinks were delicious. The service was also fast. The only thing I did not like was that there was a table of about 8 young men being disruptive and splashing champagne everywhere and it ended up splashing into my newborn babies eyes. I got up and informed our waiter and they were never asked the party to leave. We waited outside for about 20 min and the party was still there. read more

I have, off and on (more off than on), visited this restaurant, never to be excited by them, which really sucks since they are only a block and a half from where I live. HOWEVER, I have now re-visited twice in the last couple weeks and am happy to find they have become EXCELLENT. The Tampiquena I ordered from them was hands down the very best I have ever had. Typically, the skirt steak elsewhere is always a little chewy but tasty, theirs is surprisingly tender, really tasty, and the option for a relleno OR enchilada is a bit of a change-up from other restaurants where it simply comes with an enchilada. Also, for the quality of food, they are surprisingly reasonably priced. It is no wonder they are perpetually packed. Please keep this up, you are now my go-to Mexican restaurant, and bonus, so close to home. read more

They were able to accommodate a reservation of 14 on Mother's Day and offered amazing quick friendly service. Our waiter was top notch and the staff worked together to provide amazing service. We sat outside on the heated patio- the patio was perfect and the way they had the table set up was very accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their food- I got the steak and eggs and it was cooked perfectly just as I asked. I enjoyed an alcoholic free drink Farm 2 Face - fresh squeezed juices. Highly recommend read more

Food here is amazing. The outside of the building does not look like much but when you walk inside it is inviting. Staff is courteous and attentive. We had the carne asada tacos, the seafood enchiladas and the Barbacoa quesadilla. All the food tasted great. The salsas are fresh but more importantly their salsas are unique. They don't taste like every other Mexican restaurant you have been to. The margarita was great and all in all the place is a winner. Parking is limited on site but this being a neighborhood area you can always find a spot close. Andres our server was on it refilling our drinks however he did forget our order of guacamole but that aside it was perfect. read more

Delicious Mexican food in Denver! I have no complaints about my food! I ordered the pork belly and carnitas tacos, rice and black beans. Necio feels a little like a Baja style restaurant in Palm Springs. The food is just ok and for that reason it is over priced. The presentation is beautiful, but the flavors are just not quite there. The service was outstanding. We had a table of ten women and the server and their team kept us all on cocktails, chips and salsa and our meals despite the din and busyness of a dinner rush. read more

Super fun spot with a fun, upbeat vibe, great staff, and delicious food and drinks. On warmer days, the patio here is beautiful -- but the inside is also super cute. They have some fantastic cocktails! (I'm sure you can tell from the photos.) I love the Mangonata (huge frozen mango margarita with a spicy drizzle). You can also get a huge watermelon margarita punch bowl containing an entire bottle of Patron if you're here with a group. Loved that, as well! For the food, I recommend the molcajete. But I always recommend the molcajete at Mexican restaurants. You just can't beat a sizzling bowl full of meats, cheese, and salsa. read more

Looking for a fun brunch in Denver?? Look no further! My friend and I saw this beautiful restaurant on Tik Tok and immediately added it to our Denver To Do List! The hostess was extremely nice and professional and sat us immediately! We arrived around 10:30 AM for Saturday Brunch. Our server was very prompt and had waters, chips and salsa before we could even ask! We ordered a Bloody Mary and a Michelada and both were light and delicious with a touch of spice The menu has a variety of delicious options and the Smoked Salmon Benedict is a MUST! Our server was nice enough to treat us with two round of tequila shots, one being a reposado and the other a mezcal. Served with an orange with cinnamon sprinkled on top... THE most delicious shots I've ever taken! Highly recommend this for your next fun day out! read more
