I loved all the different flavors, and everything was fresh and delicious. Four of us went to Perdida Kitchen for an early Father's Day dinner and we were very glad we did! It is on the very busy strip near Washington Park which we don't often frequent because it is indeed very busy. But this was Monday evening and we were seated immediately. Our server said that we had 5 minutes left for Happy Hours--thank you!!--so ordered Caliente Margaritas and appetizers. The nachos were delicious--and messy! The Margaritas were as well. I had a nonalcoholic Athletic Brewing Company Cerveza Atletica (Mexican style copper). There were several other NA cocktails and beers available as well. We were all very pleased with our entrees. They were all luscious. Two of us are vegetarian and there were plenty of choices. I had Crispy Avocado Tacos, which came with black beans, and a side of Street Corn--both great choices. My friend had quesadillas and Potato Flautas , which I tasted and almost wish I had ordered as well. We had arrived just in time for Happy Hour- Monday-Friday, 3-5pm . Perdida has a worthwhile Happy Hour as several main menu appetizers as well as cocktails are discounted. I selected the classic marg to sip on. It was a good, standard margarita for $6. We also had to try the mini chile rellenos. A delicious meal of tacos for both of us. I enjoyed the fried avocados while my daughter had the fried shrimp. Very large tacos --it seemed to be oversized tortillas. If you're not a cilantro lover, though beware.... There's plenty of it. The guacamole was quite good with very fresh tasting avocados. The service could have been a bit faster for sure, our server was running around the whole time. I would not put it on her, but I believe they were shortstaffed. I have been here twice and had the guacamole, ceviche and street corn as apps and the street corn was the standout to me! So flavorful and tasty, that would be my go to app for this restaurant. For entrees I have had the crispy avocado taco, chicken Al pastor and fish taco. They are all good but the chicken Al pastor is the taco I keep thinking about. First time there. I was surprised that it was pricey for a Mexican joint. There was one employee up front that was friendly and sweet but everyone else acted like they wished they weren't there. We were sat clear in the back by the kitchen well away from other diners. We both shower regularly so I'm not sure why we were sequestered. Hearing "corner" and "order in" throughout the meal didn't enhance the experience. We both ordered the chicken enchiladas with red sauce. The only thing I could taste in the sauce was the tanginess. They do not have a specific area on their online ordering via the website that you can make a note about celiac, but when I called in the manager said they would note which items needed to have some extra precaution, and would mark them with a sharpie as GF upon pickup. Stopped in at Perdida during their Happy Hour, which runs M-F 3-5pm, with both food and drink specials. Decor is a soothing, pastel, beachy vibe. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. Our bartender made sure to check on us before HH was over. The Cali Caliente cocktail wasn't too spicy and the house white was a generous pour. Small bites were also generous, as we were served a regular portion of the mini chile rellenos instead of the HH portion. The guajillo ranch served on the side was very tasty. read more

This place is super cute. I love the layout of the restaurant. The bar seating is large & has a sky light above the bar, nice outdoor seating & in another room is a large seating area. We over heard some people at the bar say that it was too loud in the seating area so they moved to the bar. I also really like the menu, however, I really don't like it when restaurants charge for chips and salsa. We got the trio (salsa, guac, & queso) so it felt worth it. They have a small brunch menu on Sundays but also have their full menu. I had huevos rancheros the only thing I didn't like was that the eggs were very over/under easy & the whole dish got cold fast. I wish it was served on a hot plate or the eggs were cooked longer so they were warmer. Service was ok, we ate at the bar so I think the focus was more on having our drinks filled vs asking how the food was etc. And it got busy after we arrived so the bartender was busy. I was Perdido, but I've definitely been found and especially after an absolutely fantastic meal at Perdida Mexican Kitchen. It's been a few years since my last visit and honestly... why?! It was great then, and it's even better now. I think this was my fifth time here and I've never had a bad meal. If anything, it keeps getting better. We had a lovely dinner here on Memorial Day, visiting for the first time - having a reservation helped! We were seated promptly, enjoying the atmosphere and starting with some refreshing beverages. Our server was prompt and attentive, food was delivered quickly and was very tasty - with one minor exception, an appetizer. When my husband mentioned it, the staff took time to listen and graciously removed it from the bill without being asked, very professional. But drinks are also very expensive & expectations are high in Denver with so many options! Food we ordered was again great presentation but not the best flavor wise . My rice , beans & pico were all together in a little dish with 1 tortilla. We had the carne asada plate & fish tacos . Dessert was tres leches 6 out of 10 on food & dessert . Cake was dry , so we ate the top layer . Tres leches should be a milky sponge cake . I told waiter it was my birthday & I was eager to try this restaurant. I guess this didn't register. 4.5 stars. Came here for a networking event. It's so busy! Coming through the front, there was no one to greet anyone for like 10-15 minutes. I was feeling patient because of awesome street parking I found. Eventually I was directed to the patio where the space was reserved. The waiter assigned to our area was fantastic. Super attentive and hard working. Loved the taco station that was set up, notably the shrimp. Some of the salsas set on the tables were fairly spicy, which I enjoyed. I will start with the one positive of our experience. The food was FANTASTIC. Perhaps we came in on an incredibly busy night while they were short staffed, but service was very slow. It took 20 minutes for our server to come and take our drink order. Our experience was not unique. We ended up bonding with the table next to us struggling through the same challenge. Neither of our tables were given proper silverware to eat our food and we had to resort to grabbing our own from neighboring tables. Additionally, we had allergies to report, celiac and dairy, which the server was knowledgeable about and guided us to what we could and could not eat. However, after all of that was communicated in our order, the food came out without a single accommodation executed. Two items had to be sent back. Again we throughly enjoyed our food, after some minor setbacks, but I think Perdida could benefit from a revisit to their allergen reporting protocol. read more

This place is really great for covered patio seating, for margaritas, and for tacos. We've been twice and both times were pretty great! (Though the first time there was an issue with fruit flies... the second time they appeared to have gotten that issue under control) We recommend couples ordering two different tacos since you can't mix and match, but this way you can try the fish and the shrimp (which is what we did the second time) and be doubly happy! The queso with guac is also not to be missed - sounds odd but the creamy cold guac is a nice foil to the hot gooey queso... and the chips are made in house, strong enough to scoop all the deliciousness up! Margaritas (house, passionfruit, and strawberry) are tasty but one is all I needed, and a walk around the neighborhood afterward helped this lightweight feel OK about driving.
