First time dining here. We were seated right away. Abby was our server-very attentive and courteous. We ordered mostly from the Happy Hour menu-Guacamole Tostada, Seafood Ceviche Tostada, Wood-Grilled Oysters, and Chicken Taquitos-all were well-prepared and delicious! We paired it with a Pitcher of the Standard Marg. We also shared the Lamb & Sausage Platter and three Quesabirria (braised short rib, queso Oaxaca, cilantro, onion, corn tortilla, guajillo chile jus). We ended the delicious meal sharing the Chocolate Tres Leches Cake and the Tequila-Agave Caramel Flan-both very yummy. This is a restaurant in the mall and it shows. Nothing was high quality or well executed. The chips looked like they came out of a bag. The oysters were OK but the topping looked like it had fake color in it. The guacamole was served like nachos, on top of a pile of chips with some cheese on them. The fish tacos looked like fish sticks, not freshly prepped fish. They were served in those napkin holders which made the taco soggy and the whole thing fell apart when you picked it up. They unfortunately haven't figured out the Tuesday night $39 AYCE tacos and margaritas. First round of tacos took over 25 minutes to come out, also the bartenders were clearly prioritizing the people sitting at the bar and not making drinks for tables. Why wouldn't you batch/pre make drinks instead of making everything to order? The fish in the taco was literally flavorless. How could it be cooked on a wood coal fire and still not be smoky or salty? The other tacos weren't much better either. My boyfriend and I live in the area and got a coupon in the mail for a buy one entree, get one free as this place just opened. We were really excited to try it. The vibes were great - really cute inside, great covered patio area, welcoming staff etc. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very attentive. The staff was truly wonderful. The service and ambience alone would get a 5/5 but unfortunately the food and price just really missed the mark. We ordered the house marg and flor de fuego cocktails which came out quickly and were very delicious. Honestly a 4.5/5 is given for the drinks themselves. For food, we started with the dip duo which was guacamole and chilled chipotle queso. (Please excuse the picture we already started eating it lol). The chilled queso was essentially just pimento cheese, and the guacamole was just okay. It also came w just three large chips which I don't think we expected and was difficult for sharing. For our entrees, I ordered their take on the wood fired Cesar salad with poblano dressing and added avocado to it. Unfortunately, I was not a fan. The dressing was just not good. The lettuce itself came out pretty much as a whole head of lettuce that I had to cut up - I would normally be fine with that but since it didn't even taste good it wasn't worth the work. It also came on top of two chips and since they were covered in dressing they were just soggy. My boyfriend ordered the quesabirria tacos which he said were fine and gave them a 2.5/5 stars. The presentation was very well done though! For the two drinks, the tacos, and the dip duo, our total was about $90 (the salad was free with our coupon) which we felt was overpriced for what was received. Overall, we would return for a pre-dinner drink, and maybe to try their tacos as they did look good. Unfortunately, we would not return for the food that we did try. I stopped by Ash and Agave for a work lunch with coworkers. I will say this restaurant is a great place to have business meals. The atmosphere is great for conversation (not too loud and not too quiet) and it was evident that the wait staff were trained well to take care of people there for business. The food was good. We were all a big fan of the appetizers. The carrots were cooked well and tasty. The spicy tuna churros stole the show. I was hesitant when I first saw it on the menu but I'm glad we tried it. It wasn't that spicy at all but the flavor was great. The entrees on the other hand were mediocre. We were all a bit disappointed in the quality of the entrees especially because the appetizers were so good. The drinks were great. If you are a fan of mezcal, I would highly recommend the El Solora. It was just the right amount of smokey. I would recommend coming here for drinks and maybe just sharing the appetizers as long as you aren't that hungry. read more

This place is so frustrating to get to if you DO NOT want to go to the mall. The area right in front of it is valet only for $30. There's no handicap right nearby so we had to park in the garage and walk thru mall on 4th of July. Was annoyed as my mom has a cast and I hated for her to walk so much. We sat in the terrace which was super hot. We had a nice waitress to start but unfortunately things went south as we got our food. She got busy with other tables and kept walking opposite direction to get things. I had gotten the fish tacos which had this extremely spicy sauce I wasn't expecting. I tried to waive her down multiple times for some type Of crema to no avail. I landed up just eating around as much as I could before it got soggy. My guest got the grilled Caesar which is big and really good. Can definitely share. We shared the birria stacks and lobster ceviche. Unfortunate the lobster ceviche did not mention octopus and had a ton so we ate around. All in all it was just OK. I wouldn't come here just for the restaurant as it's too hard to get to. read more

I came here for lunch and could not make up my mind on the menu so I got a few things and shared with my co-worker. We started with guacamole and whipped ricotta toast. We also go the complimentary chips and salsa. I loved the salsas! There were 3 and they were all very different. I especially loved the one that was like a chili oil. The guacamole came with a ton of chips that had cheese sprinkled all over them and toasted. Delish!! The ricotta - also tasty!!! Just tried Ash & Agave in Cherry Creek, and wow--what an incredible experience, especially for a restaurant that's only been open four days! The service was absolutely excellent--attentive, friendly, and seamless from start to finish. The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. Every dish felt unique, full of flavor, and clearly crafted with care. It's not your typical Mexican fare--there's a creative twist that makes everything feel fresh and exciting (and seriously delicious!). Food: very good. We ordered the DIP DUO--guacamole and queso. It came with some really nice thick tostadas, but only three of them. Would've liked a few more. Chips are apparently given out for free. Three salsas were available with the chips. We liked the tomatillo and the most spicy one, but could pass on the middle one that seemed to be oil and pepper flakes. QUESABIRRIA --with braised short rib, queso Oaxaca, cilantro, onion, corn tortilla, guajillo chile jus was very good. 4/5 Service: Michelle was our waitress and was super attentive (almost to a fault) and friendly. The waiter was a really wonderful person... that said...WOW Drinks took FOREVER to arrive. Had chips and salsa without the Margheritas which were ordered first. Had a request for more salsa and told would need to charge extra though we asked for menu salsa to be held and this was substitute Margaritas really were so good asked for another round 1/4 through meal and STILL waiting for them though dessert menu given!!! I will start off by acknowledging that the food was good. We ordered the Quesabirria and the lobster tacos. For the reason I'm only giving this three stars is because when we went to the bar to sit, there were two sections of the bar that were open, but both of them were still covered in food residue from previous guests and when we asked for them to wipe it clean for us, the lady at the bar was not friendly about it and only did a mediocre job there was still residue left. In addition, the women's bathroom smelled horrible, maybe that was a one time problem or maybe not. In addition, the margaritas were just OK. We were so lucky to be able to dine here before they officially open tomorrow 4/5/26. Literally everything was on point.... The vibe, the people, the service, and of course the food and drinks. "Ash & Agave completely exceeded expectations. My friends and I had such an amazing experience last night. We started with the oysters and prawns, which were both incredible, and the warm spinach salad was unbelievably good. For dinner, we shared the short rib barbacoa, strip steak, plus lobster and bone marrow, and everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The coconut margarita was so good, and every drink we had was excellent. Beyond the food, the service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance is just gorgeous -- such a beautiful space. Not impressed. Sat at the bar for margs and it was so so. The service, the team and the drinks were all sub par. No chips and salsa. Margs were like a 4/10. The food truly looked good, but not sure if I'll be back. I know they just opened! So grace is always given, however, I didn't feel like the team tried to make it a great experience or really care that much unfortunately. Tried the new Ash and Agave. House margarita was good. Wasn't blown away by the food, but they are new and hopefully it will improve. The pescado taco had a lot of breading and couldn't really taste the fish. The beans were very smokey tasting. Was just going through some receipts and noticed we were charged $23 for the taco plates. The menu and website clearly state they are $19 on both the lunch and dinner menu. Went to their website to see if they had an email I could send a note to and no contact info was available. Just a heads up to check your bill. read more

My very blunt, honest review: this place is not worth it at all under any circumstances. I understand it's newly opened, but that's not an excuse for the level of disorganization and poor service we experienced. If it wasn't ready to operate properly, it should not have opened yet. To start, the front desk host made us wait even though there were multiple open tables. We had a reservation, yet it still took about 20 minutes to be seated. When we were finally brought to our table, she placed down four menus when there were only two of us, which honestly made it feel like she had confused us with a larger party and contributed to the unnecessary delay. After we sat down, it took another 20 minutes before any server even acknowledged us. At that point, it had already been 40 minutes total just to be seated and greeted, despite it not being busy at all (this was a Thursday). The server repeatedly walked past our table, and it genuinely felt like no one had been informed we were seated. When we finally ordered drinks, they took another 20 minutes to arrive. At that point, I was already telling my boyfriend we should just order everything at once because the service was so slow. (Which we should have no need to do so) We should have left then. By this point, it had already been around an hour and we still had no food. We ordered starters: Baja-style mussels, al pastor skewers, and whipped ricotta. The whipped ricotta and al pastor skewers were good tasty. Everything was ordered together, yet the first starter didn't arrive until about 30 minutes later. After another long wait, we still hadn't received the mussels after what felt like another 40 minutes. I flagged down the server at that point to ask how long they were going to take, and he proceeded to tell us we "never ordered them," which was completely false. I am not a patient person at all but when it comes to restaurants, I know that I'm not the only person there to eat but this server was really pissing me off so bad. Not only that, but when they eventually did come out, they had absolutely no sauce, tasted odd, and were honestly awful. At that point I was extremely frustrated, especially since everything was being blamed on the kitchen instead of any accountability from staff. Our main food didn't arrive until roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes after sitting down mind you it was a Thursday and wasn't busy till more later on. My boyfriend ordered tacos: the Gaucho taco was actually good and tasted like al pastor, but the pollo asada was dry and bland, the carnitas lacked flavor, and the beef short rib barbacoa was extremely dry and underwhelming. I ordered the salmon limón, which thankfully tasted very good--but at that point it didn't matter because of how long everything had taken. Drinks were also disappointing. The Paloma negra had an odd taste and a terrible aftertaste. The non-alcoholic cucumber pineapple drink didn't taste like cucumber or pineapple at all and also had a bad aftertaste. We tried to order dessert, but after waiting another 30 minutes, I just wanted the check and get the hell out of there so we canceled it. The server still brought them out anyway and comp them, I did try the churros, which were actually good, but that's the only positive I can say. My boyfriend got the flan and it was genuinely unpleasant with a strange aftertaste. Overall, our entire experience lasted over 3+ hours for slow service, inconsistent communication, and overpriced, mostly bland food. Way better place in Denver I later saw other reviews mentioning rats and hair in food, and I hadn't seen there reviews and wow need to be shut down honestly, after this experience, I'm not surprised by the concerns people are raising. I will not be coming back. This place is not worth the price, the wait, or the frustration. They urgently need better organization, trained staff & staff , and a functioning system for service. Also, the entrance is very confusing--being directed through the mall side instead of a clear exterior entrance made it unnecessarily hard to find the host stand. read more

Sat there for 10 minutes before anyone came. Got some adobada skewers, pork was quite undercooked. The complimentary chips and salsa came easily 15 minutes in which seems late. You get about half an ounce of each salsa so about 5 chips worth of each. Food took a good 30 minutes and the restaurant was not half full. Birria tacos were incredibly greasy and like $25. Surf and turf steak tacos tasted not great. Tortilla tasted raw & doughy, underseasoned snappy shrimp, and just left me unsettled you get two of them also for like $30. 3.5% surcharge on top of everything because why not lol. $100 later (didn't get cocktails but did get a tea and a cucumber lime soda) probably won't be back. read more

Service was terrible, the worst I've had in years. They forgot the tacos for one of the people in our party. Forgot to write it down and put the order in. Told us tacos were taking longer than entrees?! Huh? How do tacos take longer than entrees? Scoop the meat in a shell and sprinkle the cheese on top, doesn't seem too difficult. I honestly thought my meal was going to be great based on the banging salsa trio they put on the tables to start. They said they could make any marg a pitcher so we got the "toasted coconut" that barely had any coconut flavor. I tasted someone's mango marg and that was really good. To be fair some people in our group did very much enjoyed their food, even if the portions were small. And by small I mean they serve the rice and beans in bowls the same size as those little soy sauce bowls you get with sushi. A bit of an exaggeration but barely. My ceviche was soooo overly salted I could barely taste the fish. It was like the other ingredients were only there for texture. Decided to get a steak after the waiter's hype about the wood fire grill. That was a mistake. There was so much gristle I actually spit out the first three bites of it. And I'm not talking about just fat. I love fat on a steak. I'm talking crunchy steak. Fries were amazing but were also incredibly salty. Someone needs to chill on the finishing salt. I wanted to complain, but my friend was already stressed because we were with a big group and the waiter had an attitude from the moment we sat down. Also my dude, don't offer to pour a beer if you don't know how!!! Hillary Clinton could have poured less foam. Honestly management should have had a second waiter on our table cuz this guy was struggling and getting upset when a big chunk of the checks were wrong and we wanted them fixed. To top it off when my friend asked if they do desserts for birthdays the waiter said "well if you order a dessert I'll put a candle on it". Really sucky experience all around! read more
