Came here for a recent quick lunch on a Monday. Mondays also happen to be their 99 cent Oyster day which is such a great deal. I was told it was "Shucker's choice" and the variety served that day were from Maine. So delicious with the cocktail sauce/horseradish and mignonette sauces. I also tried a tuna wasabi taco. Didn't quite hit the spot with only one bite giving the taste of wasabi and the tortilla too thick that the texture dominated much of each bite. The food here was absolutely fantastic! We were there for a private event and my first visit, I will definitely return to this lovely venue. The private room was small, but light and airy with huge windows/French doors that opened to a patio. Having the evening air come in during our meeting was so refreshing after being trapped in an office all day. The impeccable service offered by Kenny and team was very noticeable in the sense that we did not lack for anything we asked for. I ordered a gin and Yuzu Curaçao cocktail that came in a martini glass with a hydrogen bubble on top. Every time I try to take a picture it would pop right before I could do it! Kenny came to my rescue starting a new bubble at least five times so I could get the right video! The drink was solid and I would definitely order it again. Great wine list Kenny took care of my wine choice for me when I wasn't sure what to get by asking my preferences and suggesting three choices. A prefixed meal was ordered by the event planner, which gave us an awesome sampling of the sesame crusted Aji tuna over the best fried rice rice ever! I couldn't stop eating the rice, which was frustrating because I wanted to eat other things too! The chicken was tender and served with a lovely, light sauce. The mashed potatoes were decadent with a cheesy topping. The asparagus was grilled to perfection. Oh, and the appetizers were fantastic too. There was a delicious Caesar salad and some kind of cheesesteak eggrolls that were addictive. The desserts included a type of bananas, Foster, I believe and the most amazing chocolate lava cake, and a pineapple upside down cake. All were decadent and delicious. First time going to Salt Water Social and we also went for happy hour. Disappointed in our visit. Service was not that great. Our server sighed when he took our order - we were appalled. The place was not busy either. Food was good but not worth the price for how small/tiny everything was. I understand happy hour is usually smaller portions, but this was extremely small for the price point. We got the surf and turf and he was rude that we wanted both surf AND turf. The one shrimp cost $10 more and no chimichurri present. The oysters were probably the size of a quarter and $3 per oyster. Most happy hour spots are valued at $1.25-$2, but those oysters were tiny. A little pricy but great service! I went here on a date so I didn't get a lot of pictures, but I did take one of my meal. I got the Wagyu burger with a side of fries. First, the parking is street parking so make sure you're reading the meter signs or you can pay to park in one of the nearby garages. We had a reservation so we were seated right away, but we also went on a Monday and it was a little empty, so depending on what time of day you go and what day it is you might not need a reservation. We were greeted immediately and our waiter, took our drink orders. My date had some questions about the menu and when he asked the waiter, the waiter was very knowledgeable and was able to answer each question. The Wagyu burger was cooked my liking, and the french fries were hot, fresh, and crispy! There was nothing too special about this burger, so I just thought it was a little overpriced for what it was. I definitely think I would go back but with some friends because it seemed like a really nice place to just chill and chat and they had some fun appetizers on the menu that I wanna try next. read more

Our family took my wife out for Mother's Day last Sunday to Salt Water Social and it was the worst restaurant experience of my entire life. They sat us 20 minutes late for our reservation and waited 2 1/2 hours for our food. We spoke repeatedly to the manager and wait staff and finally left without ever receiving our order. Literally the food is awful we sent my wife's dish back and didn't ask for them to fix it, eggs overcooked, bacon hard as a rock, I had trio of beef that was supposed to be medium rare came out medium well, under seasoned across the board albeit I will say this the French fries were exceptional. We went here on Valentine's Day the wife and I and let's just say it is pricey ,but!!!! I am 100 percent willing to pay for a damn good meal and that's just what we had , now I didnt get a photo of the wife's meal she had the 6 oz steak with a lobster tail and it was all gas no breaks! I had the Tuna and crab fried rice tuna was a 9/10 and the crab fried rice was a 7.8/10 the rice was surprisingly spicy I did not expect that. Over all damn good food and our waiter was amazing . Total shock. This location has failed many times over the years, but now, I think Salt Water Social has a better chance of making it work given the great meal we had there earlier this week.We had a Dining Out coupon worth $35 towards an entree at this place. It's right down the street. I'd worked late and it was too late to make dinner at home. My honey wanted some seafood. So, for all of those reasons we found ourselves walking into Salt Water Social without a reservation on a late Monday night. The evening didn't start out well. Two folks who worked there were talking right behind the entryway station while we were standing there for what seemed like a long time in what was a pretty empty restaurant. Finally I said, "Hi there. Does anyone want us to eat here?" The two looked up and seemed surprised. "Oh. We're sorry. We didn't see you." We first thought that was funny since we saw them observe us walking in, but ya never know, and they seemed nice once they woke up, so while we had just about turned around and gone down the block to another of what are about fifty restaurants in Cherry Creek, we smiled and said hello, and followed them to an almost customer-free area in the large bar space. Turned out that had been the low point of the evening and then everything turned around dramatically. The sweet server Shardey introduced herself along with the new worker who she was training. She thoroughly went through the menu also helped us with the wine list. Literally every dish we had was wonderful. Started with some delicious crusty sourdough bread that tasted incredible when served with their salted butter and a great glass of Super Tuscan wine. Followed that up with an excellent Caesar salad with extra anchovies that was clearly made fresh from scratch. My sweetheart had the cioppino and I had the seared tuna over a generous serving of crab fried rice, both of which were fabulous. We ordered a side of creamed spinach and it quickly became clear that we had over-ordered. We departed with a bag of leftovers that seemed to weigh several pounds but I'm sure I'm exaggerating. So what a turnaround it was. We'd had low expectations at the start of the visit but by the time we left we were 100% in their corner hoping to see them again soon. The place was lightly used when we went in around 8:30 on a Monday night, but I hear that it's quite lively the rest of the week. Found this restaurant online when looking for something near my hotel, and made a reservation. It was not extremely busy since it was a Thursday evening. I was seated at a table near the bar. Bar area was nice and had a few TVs. There was also an outdoor dining area that was pretty full. The atmosphere was very upscale. They even had a violinist playing "modern" music. I found it to be very enjoyable. My server, Casey, was very attentive. She pointed out highlights on the menu and even made some recommendations. The complementary bread service quickly arrived. The sourdough and whipped butter were amazing. My entree arrived soon after. The steak was a bit past mid rare, but still delicious. They offer multiple butter toppings. I recommend the garlic butter. The duck fat fries were also top notch. For dessert I chose the Flambé Bananas Foster. Unfortunately, they did not flambé table side, which would have been great to see. Despite that, the dessert was very tasty. The GM, Alli, even came around a couple times to check in, and we had a nice chat before I left. Overall, the service and food were great. I highly recommend it. Tip: Use the valet. Parking in a nearby garage is not any cheaper. Tip 2: Sign up for their Friends With Benefits program. Start earning points on your first visit, and receive a reward on your second visit. read more

Where to start. Well we came in during restaurant week on a Monday at 5pm. Got seated right away and our host turned out to be our waitress. She was very rude and short the minute she found out we were here for restaurant week. She got our drink order and it took her another 15 mins to get a soda and a martini. (We were one of two table at the time). She then grabbed our orders and was very short and rude attitude. At that same exact time another table go seated next to us and their waiter was extremely polite and knowledgeable. He asked about allergies, if they wanted free bread and if they wanted sparkling or still water. Meanwhile our waitress didn't ask us anything. As for the food: Not worth the price. Crab cakes were edible but not crispy on the outside. Main course of surf & turf was nothing special barely seasoned. Side add on dishes of Mac & cheese was ok and the mash potatoes were fine. The waiter Morris who was replacing our first waitress was very sweet and tried to make our night better by brining us a couple of shots. If you choose to dine in I highly recommend sitting in his section. To celebrate my 30th birthday, my wife curated a weekend full of experiences for us, including tasting a few restaurants around Colorado we had not yet tried.   Our third stop (if you do not count my obligatory stop to Call your Mother for brunch) was Salt Water Social and it was my wife, myself, and my best friend of 19 years. Saltwater Social is affiliated with STK and when you walk in, you definitely can see the similarities, but also the distinct differences, with service and an enjoyable experience being at the top of both.   As if the friendly staff was not enough, the ambiance in this place is to die for. During the day the sunlight bounces off the aquatic themed décor, really giving the impression that you are underwater. The intentionally placed mermaids throughout and the blue accents sprinkled in against the white marble, really make this place stunning. At night the dim lighting and candles give it a darker deep blue ocean feel which we also enjoyed (but is a little hard for photos).   Our server's name was Jess and not only was she knowledgeable, she was so sweet and so attentive.   We happened to stop in at happy hour, which really enabled us to try a lot for a good price.   To simplify the process, they have you order everything at once, and then pace it as it comes out.   We tried: -              Beer Battered Snow Crab (Happy Hour) -              Bay Scallop Ceviche (Happy Hour) -              Lil' Brg (Happy Hour) -              Caesar Salad (enough for 3 people to share with the intention of having a side salad) -              Shrimp Scampi (2) -              Beef Short Rib Braised in Red Wine w/ creamed potatoes     Beer Battered Snow Crab 10/10 - As someone who does not like to fight with their food, this was perfect for me, and I honestly could have had an entire plate (which is available to you if you select the Surf n Turf option). The flavor was absolutely delicious, paired with a sauce that had a bit of a kick to it.   Bay Scallop Ceviche 10/10 - I did not try this as it was one serving, but my wife said it was delicious and had the perfect balance of infused flavors.   Lil Brg 10/10 - I did not try this as it was one serving, but my best friend shared that it was delicious, the sauce added to the juiciness and the fries were really good.   Caesar Salad 10/10 - I love a good Caesar salad, and this one did not disappoint. They were sure that the dressing was infused throughout the salad and every bite was super fresh along with the delicious croutons that were not too hard or too soft.   Shrimp Scampi 10/10- The shrimp on this plate were MASSIVE and jam packed with flavor. I found myself taking multiple bites of a plate that was not mine. The parmesan matched with the other flavors they had set in this delicious dish were soooo good. My wife and best friend agreed they both could have eaten the shrimp alone if they had to because it carried so much flavor.   Beef Braised Short Rib 9/10 - The only thing that did not get this plate a perfect 10 is that I wish I had a bit more potatoes and maybe a vegetable to accompany it. What I will say is that the short rib was cooked to perfection, the potatoes were creamy and carried enough flavor that you could eat them on their own, but they also paired very well with the short rib. The short rib was tender and fell apart whenever you touched it and truthfully made for a delicious experience.   Our server closed out the night with Birthday shots for the table and then offered to take pictures of us. We had a phenomenal time, and I cannot wait to come back and try so many other things. read more

There is nothing I can say positive about Salt Water Social. First, we made reservations for two and arrived to find what I would say as "cafeteria style" two-top tables stacked tightly together. It was awkward so we opted to sit at the bar. After sitting there for 10 minutes with nobody acknowledging our existence, my wife went back to the hostess to see if we could get a table. The manager had to come behind the bar and greet us, get menus, take our order and make our drinks due to the ineptitude of the bar staff. Not a good start. The food was even worse. Know this, everything is extremely overpriced for the quality you receive. For drinks, they have the audacity to say that Clase Azul Gold is an ultra-premium tequila and charge $69 for a 1.5oz pour. This tequila is garbage and not 100% agave. It's nearly 30% added glycerin, various extracts to add flavor and coloring. Anyone who knows anything about tequila know this is a "celebrity" tequila and pure garbage. Whoever selected their tequila does not know a thing about good tequila. The list is littered with sub-standard tequilas at ridiculous prices. The Dinner menu on their website hasn't been updated as they do not serve the Steakhouse Burger for dinner. That was a letdown. The oysters were skimpy and flavorless. My wife's Surf & Turf order came with an undercooked 6oz filet (ordered medium+ and got a medium rare) on a cold plate with 3 tiny shrimp. Any decent restaurant will serve a filet on a heated plate (150F for warm, 500F at high-end steakhouses). This is clearly not a high-end experience. The au gratin potatoes were bland and undercooked. They tasted like they came from a box I could get at the grocery store. And lastly, the chocolate cake desert was bland, dry and a skinny sliver of a slice. What a disappointment. We had to laugh and just realize Salt Water Social is just a chain restaurant owned by a big restaurant group where corners are cut to make as much revenue as possible, while delivering a sub-standard experience. read more

The same sophisticated atmosphere permeates here as at STK -- complete with blue mood lighting, beautiful flowers, mermaid accents, and trendy music (or even DJ). My honest opinion on the food and drinks, though? Try it for happy hour first. I've always been a huge fan of the fun cocktails and bites for happy hour at STK -- and I would say the same here. The cocktails are great, and much more affordable at happy hour for $12 than on the regular menu. You'd quickly go broke drinking wine and cocktails off the regular menu. The small seafood bites -- whether on happy hour or on the appetizer list -- are fantastic. You can't go wrong with oysters, scallop ceviche, baked clams, yellowtail (tacos or crispy rice), or crab cakes. The mains, I was a bit disappointed with. Fine for a corporate dinner, but not quite up to foodie standards. The pasta was probably the best dish, but I couldn't have more than a bite with my gluten-intolerance. Eating just the lobster out of the lobster roll, I got more claw meat than tail, which isn't ideal. The lobster thermidor (part of the surf & turf) seemed to be stuffed with more cream & mushrooms than actual lobster. The Cioppino was the biggest disappointment (but I've also lived in the Bay Area where it started, and it's one of my favorite dishes). No Dungeness crab, barely any shellfish, tiny amount of thick sauce resembling pasta sauce at the bottom of the dish rather than a bowl of aromatic broth. I can't comment too much on dessert, as it's not gluten-free-friendly. The chocolate cake felt dense though. There's a new restaurant in Cherry Creek, and it's already one of my favorites! They recently opened, and I had the chance to check them out. First of all, the decor is incredible so think underwater city vibes (Atlantis!) with a touch of luxury that feels fancy without being pretentious. Emma, our server, was amazing! She was so welcoming and had the best recommendations. The entire team was fantastic and made the experience even better! I can't wait to go back for a special occasion or date night which it's the perfect spot for! TL;DR Unfortunately I do not think Salt Water Social is worth the price tag. Came here on New Year's Day for dinner with the hubs and it was quiet, which was nice. Our server Brandon was attentive, helpful and friendly and I've nothing but good things to say about him. Atmosphere was cool and decor was a fun underwater vibe, which went well with the menu. Pretty extensive wine menu but I was very disappointed to see no mocktails - only listed na option was bottled Heineken... Do better! We didn't order any drinks because of this. We ended up arriving at the tailend of happy hour and tried their salmon cones and tacos, both of which were tasty, unique and fun (especially the cones). They were affordable at the HH price. The free bread was a yummy sourdough; fresh and still warm. For entrees, I had the salmon Wellington which was divine and filling. Never come across anything like it before and would definitely recommend. Not cheap, but not the priciest thing on the menu. The biggest disappointment was my husband's meal. He went with surf and turf: NY steak with the crab claws. It was cooked as requested and steak had good flavor but the price was absurd... $70 for no sides! He left hungry. For that price you could get a far better meal at a number of restaurants in CCN. For $70, throw in some mashed potatoes at least, yah big cheap-os. On the whole, we have no intention of coming back, unless invited by friends who want to give it a whirl or a cool event was taking place. Mixed experience. Friendly service so nothing wrong with waitstaff etc. Had Father's Day brunch just now. Definitely quite expensive and most was on par with steakhouse pricing but some stuff was just absurd. The stand out on that absurdity was the American breakfast: 2 pancakes, 2 eggs made to order, and a couple of sausages and potatoes $44!! Everything was good quality but that's crazy for a pretty standard breakfast. My Wagyu breakfast burger on the other hand was $20 and actually pretty reasonable for the quality and quantity. We figured for the $44 The American might be something that yoh could split amongst 2-3 people, and I guess you could but it is nothing special or huge and pretty much just as explained above. Nice ambience. Unless I'm looking for the steakhouse price and experience at $50-60+ per steak and $22+ for drinks kind of experience in the future, I'll probably not be coming back any time soon. The server we had was great, however the restaurant was not very accommodating to dietary restrictions. We had studied the menu beforehand and selected items that would align with our dietary needs. We ordered the feast with the tomahawk steak and lobster. The menu did not list the preparation of the lobster which resulted in us not being able to eat the lobster. It contained an allergen that we were not aware of and we were disappointed that we would able to eat it. The other dish we ordered was ice cold. There were individuals in the restaurant that appeared to be managers, however none of them talked with us regarding our situation. Girls night out and we arrived while snowing, luckily there was valet parking for $15! We made reservations and we were seated immediately. The aesthetic was modern and waiter was friendly and informative of the menu. The happy hour is well worth it, it had a large selection of food to try and we thoroughly enjoyed that part! We ended up ordering the surf and turf entrée for $41 and that was our disappointment. The steak was tender but dry! The service is awful. Our waitress was rude and clearly didn't want to be there. We were told that they were out of bread, only for another waiter to go in the back and get some for us. The crab cake tasted like canned tuna. The surf and turf came out undercooked and the shrimp was over cooked. The dessert was raw when it came out. Went for restaurant week which was advertised as $55 a person. There were add ons you could do as well. When we got the check, the total was well over what it should have been even before the desserts were taken off. The crab cakes were on the bill for $50 as a separate charge, instead of included as the menu outlined. Just don't bother. read more

From the same folks behind STK and Kona Grill - it definitely has the same vibes inside. Spacious and fun, but could also pass for a fancy dinner because they definitely have fancy dinner prices. I have to say I really liked most of the dishes we tried - and we tried a LOT. The Caviar Pizza was surprisingly fresh and light - unlike any pizza I've had and the novelty of ordering a caviar pizza will always be fun to me. My DC Native Mr and I loved their Crab Cake too - solid for sure, especially for Denver. I'm not a big tomato based dish fan really but I really liked their San Francisco Style Cioppino. I do wish it had much more seafood than it came with, but the tomato seafood soup was delicious. I must say my most favorite thing we tried was the Mushroom and Truffle Rigatoni. It's very creamy and rich, so definitely not an everyday meal type of thing, but 100% would get again. We tried their Chocolate Cake which was pretty standard, but I really liked their Flambé Banana Foster served with vanilla ice cream. This is a solid addition to Cherry Creek, but be warned, it's pricey. If you're a seafood fan celebrating a special occasion, give this spot a try. read more

Salt Water Social has just opened its doors, and let me tell you, it's a must-try for anyone who appreciates fresh, innovative seafood served in a seriously stylish setting. My girlfriends and I recently had a girls' night out at Salt Water Social, and it was an experience we won't soon forget. The vibe was upscale with a touch of nautical chic & the stars of the show were the cocktails & food. Service was on point & server Charlie & Manager Neil ensured we had everything we needed while we dined. For Share-ables we had the Oysters, Spicy Yellowtail Crispy Rice, Caviar Pizza & Dungeness Crab Cake. The oysters were plump and briny, with a clean, refreshing finish. The Spicy Yellowtail Crispy Rice was made with yellowtail, pickled Fresno, & unagi sauce. The crispy rice was a crowd favorite and had the perfect kick of heat from the pickled Fresno peppers. The unagi sauce added a touch of savory sweetness. The Caviar Pizza was made with lemon cream, choice of caviar, & chives. The creamy lemon base & chew of the pizza dough perfectly balanced the richness of the caviar. The subtle chive fragrance added a layer of complexity to each bite. The Dungeness Crab Cake was made with roasted corn, fennel, & lemon hollandaise. The perfectly golden exterior gave way to the tender, flaky crab meat within while the roasted corn added a touch of sweetness and pop in texture. The creamy hollandaise tied everything together with a rich, tangy finish. The Lil Brgs were made with wagyu beef, special sauce, & sesame seed bun. For the Surf & Turf, we got to choose our steak & seafood. We had the NY Strip 12oz with Truffle Butter & Maine Lobster Thermidor. The steak arrived sizzling, and the first cut revealed a juicy, tender interior. The truffle butter added a touch of earthy decadence to the meat. The lobster thermidor was the highlight here - pure buttery indulgence and we loved the addition of the breadcrumbs. The Maine Lobster Roll was made with poached lobster salad, lemon zest, butter roll, & served with old bay chips. The poached lobster salad was dressed with a touch of lemon zest, adding a bright, refreshing note. The salad was nestled in a toasted butter roll that had a satisfying crunch. The Mushroom & Truffle Rigatoni was made with pecorino, braised mushrooms, & shaved black truffle. The al dente rigatoni provided a satisfying bite, while the braised mushrooms offered a soft, meaty counterpoint. The pecorino cheese added a sharp tang, and the shaved black truffle elevated the dish. The San Francisco Style Cioppino was made with scallops, mussels, clams, Dungeness crab, market fish, herbed tomato seafood soup, & grilled sourdough bread. We ended the night on a sweet note with some decadent desserts - the Flambé Banana Foster, Chocolate Cake, & Cheesecake Cones. The Flambé Banana Foster was our favorite - the warm bananas bathed in a boozy rum sauce were pure sweet, sticky heaven. Salt Water Social was more than just a meal; it was an experience. Salt Water Social has a policy of not seating guests until the entire party has arrived, which was unfortunate because I would have happily ordered a drink while waiting. Instead, I was directed to the bar, which was overcrowded with nowhere comfortable to sit or even squeeze in to grab a drink. Not a great first impression. Once our group of four was finally seated, we were placed at a table that barely fit two people. When we asked the host if we could move to a larger table behind us, she said she needed to check for reservations. Meanwhile, our server, Paige, arrived and immediately said we could move, as the table was in her section. It was clear from the start that communication among the staff was lacking. We started with drinks and the Spicy Yellowtail Crispy Rice appetizer. While the crispy rice came out immediately, the bar was severely backed up. By the time our drinks finally arrived, we had already received our oysters--which were short by four pieces. For our entrées, we ordered the Lobster Bisque, Clam Chowder, Lobster Roll, Cioppino, and the Tomahawk & Lobster. The Lobster Bisque was flavorful and generously portioned, but it only included one tiny piece of lobster. Meanwhile, the Clam Chowder was entirely forgotten, and we had to ask for it, only to find that it wasn't worth the wait--bland and forgettable. When our entrées arrived, the issues continued. The Tomahawk was delivered without the lobster, so once again, we had to chase someone down for an explanation. The lobster roll was shockingly small and barely had any filling--nothing like what is advertised on social media. Think of a Big Mac in a McDonald's commercial versus what you actually get in the drive-thru. The Tomahawk steak was perfectly cooked but incredibly gristly, with only a few edible pieces, and didn't have any seasoning other than salt. The Lobster Thermidor had an overpowering lemon flavor that threw off the balance of the dish. The best thing we ate all night? The Lobster Mac and Cheese, which was just a side. Despite all of these missteps, Paige did her best to make things right. She comped us champagne, a round of shots, and a lava cake for my birthday. She even informed the manager about our experience and requested they come over--but they never did. It was incredibly disappointing to see management so disengaged, leaving her to handle everything on her own. When the bill arrived, we noticed yet another mistake--we were charged for sides that were included with the Tomahawk. After tracking Paige down again, she brought over a manager who said he would process the credit. Yet, even days later, we have yet to see it reflected in our account. Overall, Paige was the only redeeming part of the night. The food runners were disorganized, the management was completely absent, and the food was nowhere near worth the price. I had a very disappointing experience at Saltwater Social Cherry Creek North. I came specifically for happy hour after confirming it was advertised from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. both online and on the sandwich board outside the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were told happy hour was not being offered due to the holiday, despite the promotion still being actively advertised. After being seated, service was dismissive and incomplete. A server reiterated that happy hour was unavailable, then walked away without offering to take a food or drink order. After waiting several more minutes with no service, we left. The combination of false advertising and poor service was unacceptable. This experience did not reflect the standards one would expect from a Cherry Creek North restaurant. I'd honestly select zero stars if it was an option based off of customer service read more
