combo meal Combo Meal With Rice & Refried Beans

five stars for the taco "EL MEXICANO" (Griddled cheese, seared diced beef, salsa Mexicana, and avocado crema served on a corn tortilla). I found meat that's actually seasoned holy heck. I got mine on flour for a .25 up charge. The meat blew me away, it was juicy and seasoned just right. At first I kinda didn't wanna trust it because the inside is like a new gentrified business where you order off a kiosk (i hate that). but anyway ill come back this taco. I saw some influencer post saying they were hurting for customers so I wanted to support local regardless. Try em out and see what ya think. my meal was $16. reasonably priced for the quality.

This place is super cute and had no line on a Saturday afternoon, so we stopped by for some lunch. We sat at the bar, the server was a little slow, he might have honestly had a disability, but he was nice, you just had to remind him a couple of times for everything. We tried the chips and dip trio, and those were delicious. The queso was so well seasoned and the perfect texture, creamy and just right. Those tacos were OK, I'm a pretty tough critic, I guess the Beria were the best ones of the three that I tried (chicken and Carne Asada) but I don't think that I would be going across town for these tacos again.

Taco Uprising has a cool vibe and some seriously tasty food. I loved the chips served in a bucket. They were crunchy and addictive, and the salsa was mild with a hint of sweetness that worked well. We had the mushroom and refried bean tacos, and they were absolutely delicious. I asked for no cheese, and only afterward found out they actually have vegan cheese, which wasn't offered, which was bit of a miss there. Also, at around $6 per taco, it's definitely on the pricey side. Still, the flavors were great, and I'd go back for sure (just with a few questions first).

    Overview of the dining area

As much as I am not sure if I call this restaurant in "RiNo" (as RiNo's boundaries are oftentimes a topic of debate), I must say that I like this quieter side of it where the Light Rail line L runs through; it's got some charms in my opinion. On this side, there are not a lot of competitions when it comes to restaurants. With that said, this quaint taco joint must be loved by the locals who reside in the area especially those who live on the very street, Welton. This place had been on my list of restaurants to visit for months. This was more so because I had such a disappointing experience at a different Mexican restaurant just the other night. I was in a dire need to have a little "sweet revenge" to eliminate the memory from it by having a nice/nicer meal experience. I am glad that I did come to this taco joint this AM to satisfy my hunger because the experience was quite good. Like I said, this place is fairly small. There are about 12 tables (all white; very clean.) There is a bar seating that is quite spacious for the overall size of the restaurant. Once you arrive, you either order upfront left to the bar or order at your table using the QR code. You can leave your tab open (for your entire stay so you can add more as you wish) or close it if you think you won't eat more than what you initially ordered. This option is convenient. The young man who greeted me upon arrival was pleasant to me; he explained all of this so that I could take care of my order with ease. Ordering using the QR code was indeed convenient. Once you have picked a taco of your choice, it will ask you if you want to sub your tortilla from flour to corn with no additional charge. I got me one of the Combos with 1) Potato Taco and 2) Early Bird Tabo. Both tacos are loaded with potatoes but the dish comes with a side of potatoes. On top of that, I got me a 2oz side guacamole (there are different sizes for this.) I don't know about other dishes but this restaurant is not stingy about the portions. At least that was the case for the two tacos I ordered. On the corn tortillas, the ingredients were generously place where I had to eat some of them first before I rolled my tacos to hand eat them. And of course, all the ingredients were cooked fresh and perfectly seasoned (both of the tacos are more geared toward breakfast as they included scrambled eggs.) They have happy hour, Saturday brunch etc.; this can tailor to people's needs and convenience no matter when they come to this place (they are closed on Monday just so you know.) The bar seems to have full function where they should be able to make most of the popular cocktails. It's a great place for solo diners as it's casual enough where people can have a quick/carefree dining experience. I will return next time with someone for the happy hour.

I had a great experience at Taco Uprising! I have celiac and am careful with the labeled food and the chef taking note of my allergy. I ordered to go in the cafe and food was out quickly and delicious! Taco uprising is also listed on the offline app with discounts available for visiting!

The menu here may be small but I would be happy with a plate of only their fish tacos. The batter is so crisp and the fish is cooked perfectly, and the sauces all taste great. I also really liked my birria taco, it's been a while since I've had a good one since that whole birria craze started a few years ago. This one is hot, cheesy, meaty, and the consomme is fantastic. The tortillas taste fresh which makes such a huge difference. The value here is also incredible - 2-3 tacos is pretty filling for a meal, they also have HH deals which I'll have to come back for sometime. Service is incredible friendly, we had a large group of 6 and had no problem getting seated and having all our orders delivered in a timely manner.

The team at taco uprising was so welcoming. They have non-alc spirits so they can make amazing 0 proof mocktails like margs and espresso martinis. The food was absolutely delish! The burrito is a must!

Came here on a Saturday to take advantage of their happy hour deals and have tacos for dinner. The space is nice but also a bit smaller than I was expecting. We were seated right away and staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our meal. We started out with Green Miles to drink. The happy hour prices felt like a really good deal and we appreciated what you can customize the drinks. I really enjoyed the spicy Green Mile, it had a really good heat. To start, we got chips and salsa and plantains. The plantains were by far the best thing we had- they were so delicious. The chips were ok, a little thin, but we liked the salsa. For tacos we got birria, potato, and fried chicken tacos. The tacos were a really decent size for what we paid. The birria was good but I wouldn't say the best we've had in Denver. The potato tacos were good but maybe a little too much bean in there. I liked the fried chicken but took off some of the slaw because there was a lot and it kind of watered down the flavors. Overall, tasty meal!

Happy hour Tuesday through Thursday 430 to 830; check for other deals! Had a couple drinks and a couple tacos- the fried chicken taco was great flavor, but I felt that my chicken piece was very large, which resulted in a hard to eat taco. Service was great and this restaurant has lots of room/good space. I'll definitely be back.

    Blu M.

I think the tacos at Taco Uprising look better than they taste unfortunately and I can't really justify the price of the individual tacos, as it's about $6 a pop. I got their birria, fish taco, and the El Mexicano(steak tacos). I think the best one out of the three was the El Mexicano, steak was cooked nicely and flavorful and loved the avocado salsa on top of it. The birria was ok but lacked flavor and the consomé was bland, didn't feel like it had any spices in it and also lacked salt. The fish taco was also ok but they should put more salt and seasoning because it lacked that. I think I'll just stick to my hole in the wall tacos because the more upscale spots continue to disappoint me

Salsa, Queso, Guacamole flight with house and strawberry margarita

This was my first time trying Taco Uprising and I will be back! I got the fried chicken taco and El Mexicano taco and both were great. Also got the flight appetizer and strawberry margarita from the happy hour menu. Definitely recommend!

Trendy taco place. Stopped in for lunch. Plantains were very tasty. Tacos were good but could use more heat, even the hot sauce only had a little bit of a kick to it. Would be fun for happy hour or taco Tuesday. There's also a cute takeout window with dog treats!

    Lauren A.

Absolutely love this little casual taco spot. Order at the counter, and then choose your table. They also serve alcoholic drinks and have a full bar! Don't skip the el Mexicano taco

And yes... every drink is only $5 but heads up, it's cash only. The prices were so good we ended up staying for three drinks each and didn't even feel guilty about it. My husband and our friends ordered The Continental, a black cherry Old Fashioned, and it was absolutely delicious ,smooth, balanced, and full of flavor (I definitely stole a few sips). I went with a vodka pineapple and later a cranberry vodka, both refreshing and perfect. We loved the place so much that the guys even bought merch $10 t-shirts, which honestly felt just as affordable as the drinks. Amazing drinks, unbeatable prices, fun speakeasy vibes, and great memories. We'll 100% be back.

Atmosphere: The theme here is so cool! It's all about Abraham Lincoln but with a modern, artistic twist. There's really neat artwork everywhere showing different looks of Lincoln. It feels like a true old timey speakeasy. It gets very busy after 8 PM, so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but the energy inside is awesome. Price: This is the most budget-friendly spot I've found in the area. Almost everything is $5! It is CASH ONLY, but don't worry if you forget. They have an ATM inside for you to use. Drink: I ordered the Continental, which is their take on an Old Fashioned with a black cherry. It was delicious and definitely didn't taste like a cheap drink despite the price point. Service: Despite how packed it was, the service was incredibly fast. We got our drinks in maybe 2-3 minutes tops. The staff is efficient and friendly. Overall Experience: Whether you're visiting and staying near Union Station or just looking for a fun local getaway, I highly recommend this place. We walked from our hotel, but if you drive, be prepared to look for street parking or a garage. It's fun, cheap, and has great theme nights. I'll definitely be back!
