Crab sliders and toasted ravioli
Luci S.

Always a great happy hour spot for their signature oysters, sliders, and such. Our bellies were content given a wide spread from their HH menu. Something was a bit off with their pizza dough this time around vs what I remembered in the past. Solid patio seating especially when the weather is gorgeous. Place gets packed between 4 to 7pm. Come early! Solid service, per usual. Parking can be a challenge, so just find a spot in the neighborhood streets and walk over.

Pretty good spot, seems to be a locals favorite but I thought it was nothing to write home about. Would return for happy hour deals as it is nearby only. I have been in Denver for years and have heard people rave about this spot, and living close to the Capitol Hill location I finally checked it out. It was good, but I did not think it was anything special at all. The happy hour deals on wine and oysters are good, but the food is just not anything I thought about even the next day. We got the suck my kiss pizza, the fried ravioli, Cesar salad, the bolognese and some of the baked oysters. The bolognese was the best thing in my opinion- aside from the wine!!

This is such a cute place and has amazing ratings so I was excited to try this spot. The staff were very nice too! This review has nothing to do with the service or the ambiance (which were both great!) Bruschetta: it was just very wet but had good flavor and was probably the tastiest bite of the lunch. Not what I expected but not bad. 7/10 Marinara Pasta: very sour and just not special at all, it was kind of like Olive Garden but their noodles were at least al dente not mush so that's good. 6/10 Margherita Pizza: This was just bad. The crust was terrible and so were the toppings. 2/10 Bad soda too but the tap water was decent! I'm just disappointed being the reviews were so high, it's cute but honestly not worth the food for the cuteness lol.

Angelo's has a great happy hour menu. It was a lot of fun to mix and match oysters, with small bites like toasted ravioli, caesar salad, crab cake sliders, and drinks. I also love a restaurant with nooks and crannies for a fun, intimate ambiance. The service was friendly and efficient. I'll definitely be back at Angelo's, but where it lacks a little is the flavor. Everything we had was good, but just kinda flat. I also ordered the chicken parm pasta to go and it was very basic, not bad, a bit bland.

Toasted Ravioli

During the trip to Denver, we did our best to try out all types of food. Italian was one of the last on our "To Eat" list, and I had to rely on Yelp for recommendations. This establishment seems to be more of a local favorite, so we definitely had to give it a shot. Parking sucked. We had to park in a neighborhood, but who am I to complain? We got to see Racoons and their 3 baby's peeking out of the water drainage...but I digress. ha! Upon arriving, there were a lot of people already inside. Fortunately, we were seated right away. There was a decent amount of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The decor had a dive bar / 80's restaurant vibe. The food: Toasted Ravioli - 4.5 / 5 - Worth it. Very crisp outside with delicious cheese inside French Onion Soup - 5 / 5 - I make it a priority to try out the french onion soup whenever it is offered. This ranks VERY HIGH up there when compared to other establishments. Very flavorful. The serving is very large so you might want to make it a priority to eat it all ASAP while it is warm. I eat rather slow so the last few bites did feel a bit of a chore (mainly because my Calzone arrived by then). Calzone 4.5 / 5: So good! Especially for the price point. Their servings are legit on the generous side - I could not for the life of me finish it all after the appetizer + french onion soup. Panna Cotta - 4 / 5 - Very good - It might have been just because I was stuffed that the desert didn't stand out for me as much as it did for the rest of our party. We were all very satisfied with our random visit to this establishment. The service was great despite how busy it was. That actually stood out to me - much appreciated! Yet another spot I will plan to visit when I come back to Denver. Thanks Angelo's!

They have a great happy hour, our drinks were tasty and they had a lot of food options on hh.

This place rocks. Awesome shaded patio, friendly service, and great food. They are fairly flexible about ordering which is nice if you need customizations, I built my own pasta and got creamy pesto, which tasted amazing. I will always go back to this place, it's a classic.

Came here for my brother's birthday about 20 of us. The hostess was very nice excellent service and willing to help in anyway that we need to the atmosphere of the environment was very nice clean and delicate in every way. We ordered some oysters and some Beretta and some other food as well and everything was magnificent! Definitely won't be coming back here in would recommend as well.

Absolutely the best place to find Oysters! Chargrilled parm was so delicious! This place is very reasonable in price! Hands down one of the best restaurants in Denver area! Must try out!

Great spot for a tasty dinner on the patio! We had a group of 5 on a Friday night and easily got a table outside around 5:30, then it seemed like the place really started filling up after 6. They have great happy hour deals on food and drinks (I ordered the happy hour Caesar salad and it was a good sized portion!). The dinner menu has lots of great options. I loved the ragu di capra with pappardelle. We also shared calamari, gluten-free pizza, and oysters. The calamari has a nice light breading with a sweet red pepper glaze - definitely try this if you like calamari! Would definitely go back for another girls night or date night.

Everything was fantastic!!! From our greeting, thank you Jacob. To the food. To our wonderful server, Olivia. This is a top notch restaurant. Every item on the menu is delicious. Our dishes were spaced out just right so that we were not overwhelmed. Not pictures but we also had charcoal oysters, toasted ravioli, crab cake sliders, and pizza. Definitely recommend. Kudos to Jacob and Olivia for making our first experience memorable.

Caesar Salad

Decided to come in for the late night happy hour which begins at 9 PM. The ambience is more like a bar when walking in, but they do have a dining room to the left-hand side. We came in for their half dozen oysters, which are only about $1.25 per oyster at night. It was a pretty good deal and I also loved the toppings and sauces that it came with. I felt like these were very fresh. However, I did feel like they could be cleaned a little bit better. The Caesar salad had a great garlic taste, and I would get it over and over again The baked oyster was OK not my favorite The balsamic glazed ribs were a hit at the table and fell off the bone. I would absolutely get these again with such great flavor. Overall, I would come whether it be happy hour or not to try there more extensive menu especially some of the pizzas that we saw come out.

Chargrilled oysters . Special oyster, two chipotle.
Kai D.

Angelo's was absolutely phenomenal tonight. Every bite was amazing. I was really impressed with the chipotle, char grilled oysters. Super flavorful the perfect amount of sweetness and spice together was excellent. The ribs were very tasty. I thought they were a little bit one dimensional in terms of the sauce, carried them very tasty and sticky though. I was very impressed with the pasta. It came out piping hot , was super creamy and Rich and flavorful. I definitely will go there again and maybe try the Bolognese with the vodka next time. I was also very impressed with the Caesar salad. They make their Caesar dressing in-house and it's packed with flavor maybe one of the best Caesar dressings I've ever had.

Service was very attentive. Our server, Alex, was kind and checked in on us often. The entire staff was so hospitable from the host at the entrance, to the server, to the others who kept checking in to make sure we had a great evening. The ambience was great. Cozy, clean, very Italian feeling. The restaurant had people in it, and it hit the sweet spot of busy but not overly crowded or loud, especially for a Tuesday night. Parking can be a little tricky, with some paid street parking and paid garages nearby. We opted for the valet, which is right at the restaurant. We started with the focaccia with cacio e pepe butter, and the butter was incredible. It was salty, but quite tasty. We also had the burrata, which is cheese served over focaccia breadcrumbs with a little sauce, and it paired great with the focaccia. I had a couple of martinis that went nicely with the meal, while the rest of the party enjoyed glasses of white wine. For my entree, I went with the rigatoni, which I'd heard was one of their staples. It was great. The serving size isn't too big, so I didn't get too full, but it was just enough. Overall, a very tasty dish. My fiancée got the cavatelli, a more seasonal item, and I got to try a couple of bites. It was also really good. For dessert, we had the semifreddo, a milk chocolate dessert that I honestly don't know how to describe, but it was incredible. I have a huge sweet tooth, and it was a great way to end the night, especially if you enjoy chocolate. Our waiter was great and the service was top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. However, I have dined here 5 times over the last 12 months and each time I have experienced 1) servers that neglect the solo diner and 2) lazy bartenders. All five times I have gone here, to both eat and drink, I have been sat at the bar. I normally enjoy the experience of sitting at a restaurant's bar, however the experiences at Spuntino have been unpleasant. 1) When you sit at the bar, they have a server attend to you instead of the bartender standing right in front of you. This would be fine except the server still has a full section in another portion of the restaurant and they tend to forget about their customers sitting at the bar. All five times I've ate here I've constantly had to flag down my server to order, get the check, have my drink that's sitting at the bar handed to me, order another round, etc., which greatly takes away from the dining experience. This leads into the lazy bartenders issue. 2) Despite sitting in front of the bartender as they make your drink, they refuse hand you your drink once it's made and instead will walk a longer distance to place your drink on the service well where it sits until your server comes to deliver it, which in most cases has taken 5-10 minutes. So you're sitting there staring at your drink watering down because the bartenders are too lazy to just hand it to you even though the drink ticket shows that the drink is for a customer sitting at the bar. There have been a handful of occasions where I've had to flag down another staff member to ask them to deliver my drink because my server hasn't come behind the bar and the bartenders will completely ignore you when you try to get their attention. I experienced these problems the first time I dined at Spuntino, and I've tried several times again hoping the experience would be different, but each time it has been the same which has been extremely disappointing and ultimately deterred me from wanting to dine and spend my money here.

Back in the 1950s & 60s it had a unique connection to organized crime & was known as a hub for mobsters. This is a lively place with a cool vibe playing music from the 50s, 60s & 70s. I especially enjoyed the Motown sound. Lots of windows, both booths & tables were comfy & cushioned. Jack was our server & he was very friendly & attentive. We arrived for Brunch on a Sunday afternoon & the place was busy. We had Cheese Bread with Marinara, Lasagna & Chicken Parmigiana. Our dishes were delicious! The bread was a meal in its self with a really tasty sauce. The lasagna was very good as well but the parmigiana was even better...crispy flavorful chicken. What tied all this together was the scrumptious red sauce used in everything we ate. It was awesome with a spicy kick. This was an amazing meal & I look forward to trying some of their dishes from the dinner menu like the Lobster Ravioli & the Chicken Marsala.
