The Brisket Sandwich, the Chicken Sandwich, Burnt Ends Sandwich and Portabelo Mushroom Sandwich were all delicious. You can see the smoke ring. The toasted brioche bun, the cole slaw, the great local beers...it was all great! The interior is awesome, as it shares the space with other businesses in a refurbished old iron factory. Barbeque here is legit! We had ribs, brisket, and pork belly. My favorite was the brisket - tender and a nice mixture of meat and fat. The pork belly just melted away but it was almost too rich. They have three options of sauces traditional, green, and orange. I don't know what was in them, but the green reminded me of green salsa, and the orange reminded me of red peppers. To celebrate my 30th birthday, my wife curated a weekend full of experiences for us, including tasting a few restaurants around Colorado we had not yet tried.   Our second stop was Smōk.   I have been craving BBQ for some weeks now, so I was pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to the Source Lobby and the smell of marinated and smoked meat overwhelmed my nostrils. Similar to other popular BBQ spots (Sugar Fire), you HAVE to get it before it's gone here. Coming in on a Saturday night with parking being as bad as it was had us a bit nervous, but once we were inside there were plenty of places to sit and still quite a lot of food left.   Our only interactions with the staff is during the time that you order because everything else is self-serve. While we ordered the staff was super nice, attentive and helpful in describing the menu and what options to pick.   We ordered:   .5 lb Brisket .25 lb Pork Belly Buffalo Wings Fries Mac n Cheese   This was more than enough food for the two of us.   When ordering they ask you what type of meat you want (lean, fatty, etc.), which I appreciate because my wife and I definitely prefer a fattier meat.   Brisket - 8.5/10 The Brisket was cooked to perfection, the cuts of meat were delicious and the crust of the meat was seasoned very well, however, the meat in itself relies heavily on the sauce if you are looking for additional flavor. I personally like a saucier BBQ, so this was no problem for me, but if you want a stand alone meat with a lot of flavor, this may not work. The Brisket does melt in your mouth and is tender enough to cut lightly with a fork, so this fulfilled all of my cravings.   Pork Belly - 8.5/10 I echo the same sentiments for the Pork Belly. The crust if you will was seasoned to perfection and I would have loved to see some of that on the meat as well. None the less, it was delicious, tender, and also paired excellently with their BBQ sauce.   Buffalo Wings - 10/10 These wings were delicious. They were coverd in flavor and pulled a part with ease. We had ranch to accompany them and seriously could not get enough.   Fries - 7/10 The fries were good, (crunchy, cooked well) but they were a little more sweet than they are salty, and I am not the target audience for that. My wife really did enjoy them.     Mac N Cheese - 7/10 A good mac n cheese, needed a bit of a seasoning, but was creamy and hit the spot. read more

I got the brisket and it was good but I found it extremely salty compared to all other barbecue I have ever had. I'm not sure if this was a one off or other people have experienced this but gotta put it out there as my personal experience. I was in Rino for a haircut and walked over to Smok Barbecue inside The Source. An industrial space with picnic tables and a full bar. The menu is a large chalkboard with variable prices. I noticed a sign about increasing brisket prices. The printed food menu does not reflect current prices. I got a Burnt Ends sandwich on a brioche bun with large sides of Ginger Cole Slaw and bacon topped Potato salad. You have a choice of sauces. I used their regular sauce first, then switched to Carolina Gold. You order at the order, get a table sign and the staff brings your order to you. Very flavorful brisket. It didn't taste salty. The potato salad was creamy and the bacon added crunch. The coleslaw had just right of ginger, not overpowering. They add a 2.5% Living Wage service fee. I added a 20% tip on top. read more

This was my 2nd time ordering Smōk via DoorDash since we don't currently have a car and it's a bit far from our condo. THE GOOD * BURNT ENDS (5/5) : So good + full of flavor! The rub was so great that you don't even need the sauce. I'd definitely order this again! * RIBS (4/5) : I've had them where the meat just fell off the bone. These weren't it. Sauce made them better. * BRISKET (3/5) : Ordered the lean. Won't make that mistake again. Too dry. Sauce definitely required. * SAUCE (4/5) : The standard sauce that came with our order was thin but had a good, sweet flavor. For takeout they include 1 small container for every 1/4 lb of meat. We ordered 2 lbs of meat and received 1 cup which was plenty. * DEVILED EGGS (3/5) : Not surprisingly, these did not travel well and arrived in a barely recognizable pile of shells + filling. To be fair I'm not sure how they could have packaged them better. The filling is really creamy; too creamy for me but I'm from the South where we are raised to be deviled egg connoisseurs by age 10. ;) The filling should be creamy but firm enough to handle the egg with your hands. Even though we had to scoop ours out with a fork, the filling just slid right off. Personally, I didn't care for the heat of the jalapeño but my partner liked it. * MAC N CHEESE (4/5) : Not as good as my homemade version which has Gruyère, Sharp Cheddar, and Parmesan - but theirs had good flavor and I didn't have to cook it so... :) * CORN BREAD (5/5) : This was moist and had the right mix of sweet + heat with small but visible chunks of jalapeño and corn. * BANANA PUDDING (5/5) : I love banana pudding and this did not disappoint! THE MEH * PRICE : The sides felt overpriced for what you get. $8 for one cup of mac n cheese, another $8 for 2 muffins. $10 for 5 halves of deviled eggs (basically $2 for 1/2 an egg). It's an expensive meal if youre feeding a family. * LIMITED ONLINE OFFERINGS : There were a few things on their menu that we couldn't order for delivery. We were disappointed we couldn't try their current seasonal pie (strawberry-rhubarb!) but perhaps it came with ice cream, which also wouldn't have travelled well...? * REHEATING : Even though the driver came straight to us and pulled it out of an insulated bag, our meal was barely warm. Great place for brisket. I was only hungry for something small, but the entire menu wanted me to order numerous stuff. When you order brisket they ask you if you want it lean, with fat or both. There are a few sauces you can grab to accompany your meat. Only problem is the sauces aren't labeled. But the one I chose was just perfect. Friendly staff. There's a bar with craft beer on tap. Unfortunately while the cooking method was good, the brisket was DRY. Flavorless. The seasoned fries were too sugary. The sausage was also not juicy. The chicken wasnt bad. Honestly i was extremely disappointed. The manager never asked how everything was despite my needing some boxes less than 5 min after we got our food . Honestly it tasted like all the food was old. My fiancé's highlights: pork spare ribs were nice and juicy, serrano pepper chili sauce for dipping, Mac-n-cheese was creamy and flavorful, and delicious in-house blue cheese for dipping with the chicken wings. My standards are high because I've had so many good BBQ spots in Texas and while Smok may be a good option in CO, it's just ok compared to what I've had. I had the burnt ends sandwich and fries, and also ordered banana pudding for dessert. The cost is actually pretty reasonable considering how many burger spots in Denver charge $15-18 for a burger that doesn't even include fries. I thought half of my burnt ends pieces were incredibly tender, but the other half was somewhat tough. The portion is huge though and I did end up taking a few pieces out the sandwich to eat for leftovers later. The fries were so disappointing - they were completely dry even though they were warm, it made them taste old. The banana pudding was so-so, it somehow didn't taste like anything unless you got a bite with a banana piece in it. At least it wasn't too sweet, but I would have liked some semblance of flavor. I got this as takeout, food was prepared really quick and was ready within 10-15 mins on a Saturday evening. Employees were all very nice and made the pickup process easy and quick. read more

I had been looking for a new BBQ spot and was thrilled to find Smōk! Everything I tried was packed with flavor. We tried the pulled pork, mac and cheese, beans, and banana pudding and each one was noteworthy. The pulled pork was cooked and pulled to perfection, the sauce is your standard bbq with a little tang and peppery-spice to it. The Mac and cheese is not your standard Kraft, it's smothered with cheese and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The beans were delicious, and loaded with meat with them. Amazing BBQ place and my only regret is that I was too full to eat more lol. Ambiance: Came here with some friends for dinner before a show downtown, only a short drive away. It wasn't super busy when we arrived since it was a tad too early for dinner, but it was clear that this place is popular and the current customers seemed to be enjoying themselves. Food: My husband and I ordered one meal each with the intent to share the side orders. He ordered the chopped brisket sandwich at the recommendation of the staff and I ordered the burnt end sandwich (partly because I was overwhelmed with the options and went with one of the first on the menu). Both sandwiches were packed with flavour and I would be happy to have them again. The mac and cheese was creamy and tasty; the okra was coated and fried (I wasn't expecting the coating) and was good as well; both sides were delicious but felt somewhat heavy to have with the sandwiches.
