2 Meat Combo (brisket, ribs) collard greens, Mac & cheese
    Jonathon K.

I was torn between 3-4 stars but the sides and dessert were good enough to make up for a somewhat sad and dry brisket. Ragin Hog is a solid neighborhood choice. The 2 meat special with two sides and dessert for $25 is good value. The ribs and mac&cheese were good, and the collard greens were great. The brisket was not up to par. Great friendly service and homie atmosphere.

Close up of pulled pork sandwich. Full of meat and good bun!

Placed an order on TooGoodToGo for a sandwich surprise bag. Smells amazing when you walk in the restaurant. Love the chalkboard menu on the wall. What I got was flavorful and filling! I got a pulled pork sandwich that came with chicken noodle soup, mac n cheese and a slice of cornbread. The meat was moist and had nice flavor to it. I used the Georgia bbq sauce which is super tangy and mustardy- loved it! Cornbread was a hair dry but still good. Will try Ragin' Hog again.

This is my go to place in north Denver when I don't t want to smoke my own barbecue. Closest to good homemade smoked meats as I have found If you want to try this bbq the sooner you get there better because once they run out of food they close for the day I was so happy to find this place before covid and so happy that they survived and seem to be thriving. They make you feel like family and don't put up with any funny business, what I mean is if you think you are going to watch a movie or play a video game on speakerphone, you got another thing coming. They value their customers and want all of their guest to respect each other. I love the brisket pulled pork and their home style coleslaw Come in to try some of their special house made desserts as well.

Picked up a sandwich combo meal with green beans, mac and cheese and cole slaw with cornbread! All were delicious, especially the cole slaw. Wide variety of sauces to choose from. Every time I come in, the woman working here is so nice. It's not an easy spot to find between a nail salon and a tax place. It's worth looking for, whether you want to eat in or take something to go.

Sign me up as yet another fan of this BBQ joint. This place was noticably small, so clearly it was meant for a goblin such as myself to enjoy it. The place does look pricey, but once you get your food, you will notice this stuff is all well worth the price. You get quite the plate when it comes rolling out. Every order has sides and a dessert (or an additional side if you're shameless), so you get yourself stocked full pretty well. I do recommend the custard pie, it's sinfully delicious. Even with the small room to sit (they literally have like 5 tables in the joint), the service is still quick and quite friendly. The meats are smoky and delicious, too. The pork was so soft, with crispy bits. They do rely on you to sauce your own meats, and they make their own selection, too. So get saucy.

Probably my favorite part of my work trip to Denver. The lady behind the counter was extremely nice and courteous and gave us recommendations when we couldn't decide. I ended up with the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. They use sour cream in the potato salad so it's a bit different from what I'm used to on the east coast. The pulled pork was amazing. Juicy and delicious. I still think about this pulled pork sandwich now and it kills me I have to go back to Denver to get it.

Was in town visiting Denver and I was craving bbq. Saw this place and decided to give it a shot. It's a small place and all the staff are friendly. They great value combos that includes meat, 2 sides, drink and a dessert. I got the 2 meat combo with brisket and pulled pork. The brisket had a nice flavor, it's cooked well would have liked it a little more moist. The pulled pork was very good, cooked well and moist. They have a nice variety of sauces. I got the buttermilk which was alright. The cornbread was very good. The Mac and cheese was not my favorite style. I would definitely recommend this place because it offers good value, good portions and good food.

1/2 rib combo very good bbq! Highly recommended!!!!

This was legit the fattest bbq pork sandwich I have ever eaten. Their specials are insane. Owners are nice, food good, chill vibe here. Excellent meal!

OMG!!! Came in after the lunch hour at 1:17 and had a long chat with Stacy (owner's spouse)... He talked about how they've been here 10+ years, and his pork & chicken are smoked with Hickory & fruit wood (the ratio is secret)... Beginning on the pork with a dry rub with basted secret sauces... The chicken is cooked smoky without a sauce which is added later. We added the custard pie to our 3 meat combo deal : pork ribs, burnt ends & chicken. All delicious with our sampling of several sauces... It was so good that I added a few more pork ribs as we were leaving. Incredibly friendly conversation with the owners. Great corn bread & collared greens. I just have so much more up add but it's just the BEST & Most Friendly BBQ visit I've had in memory. So why only 5 stars? If I could have given a thousand stars, that would not have been enough! What a fabulously memorable experience!!!

The Memphis BBQ sauce is great! The meat was dry and flavorless, however. Certainly didn't taste like it was smoked for long.

Service: 10/10. Bar staff was excellent, very friendly and fast. Food came out of the kitchen very quickly as well. Food: The menu had a lot of really interesting options, I got the Bluegrass Benedict. It was amazing. Literally one of my favorite benedict dishes I've had. It had layers and layers of flavors between the greens, sauce, and toppings. The home fries were crispy on the outside + soft on the inside perfection. The only part that wasn't stellar was the pork belly itself, have definitely had better, but everything else blew me away. The portion size was large. Value: I paid $22 after tip, it was a big portion and I had to eat some later (although not as good as fresh), overall great quality and service so would say value on point. Accessibility: There was street parking in front. There is a ramp to the door. I had a great meal and would recommend highly and would go again if back in the area.

First, wife is a vegetarian and they had no mains other than Mac and cheese for her. She ordered the salad without chicken which was $25. They knocked it down to $22 after I asked why it was the same price without meat, which still seemed like a lot for a salad with no protein. Kids' Mac and cheese was not the same receipe as last time; it was a different noodle and seemed to be needing some salt as it was pretty bland. Unlike our last visit they did not include an ice cream for dessert. My fried chicken and waffles was ok--the breading was a bit soggy though and I much preferred the Nashville hot chicken from my last visit. If I'm being honest this was closer to a 2 star experience, but with how good the last visit was, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt they maybe tonight they were just off. That said--need one vegetarian entree for the menu.

We first attempted lunch at Rebel Bread's café, but they were out of most sandwiches due to a missed delivery. Leven Supply was our second stop, but they had been seized by the State due to unpaid taxes! Fortunately Lucile's is right across Alameda Avenue from Leven and we found them humming along at their usual pace. We were greeted by Brad, a particularly friendly, personable, and efficient server and soon seated in the comfortable dining room which features just the right number of New Orleans-themed tchotchkes. My girlfriend ordered Eggs Sardou which features creamed spinach, Gulf shrimp, poached eggs, and Hollandaise. She chose the jalapeño cheese grits. I had Eggs Pontchartrain with pan-fried mountain trout, poached eggs, and Béarnaise plus the plain cheese grits. My girlfriend had never been to Lucile's. She was thrilled with her dish. The spinach was particularly creamy and savory. Absolutely delicious. My meal was also excellent. Every item was perfectly prepared. I haven't even mentioned the buttermilk biscuits which are each a meal in themselves and come out at the peak of perfection. Lucile's is one of my favorites. That said, it's also pretty cramped, and the wait times can be long (sometimes even longer than quoted). One thing we do appreciate is how they've made the waiting experience more comfortable. There's a somewhat hidden upstairs waiting area that's especially nice during those unpredictable winter days, and you can even grab a drink in a tiny room tucked away on the other side of the dining area. It's a thoughtful touch that helps pass the time. The staff are consistently friendly and create a warm and inclusive atmosphere. As for the food - there's a lot to love. The Eggs Sourdou, Pain Perdu, and Bennifer standout. The jalapeño grits are another highlight. On the flip side, the Cajun breakfast with red beans and rice was a bit much- it became overwhelming after a few bites, so I probably wouldn't go that route again. Overall, the food is impressively comparable to what you'd find in New Orleans, which is such a treat to have close to home. With more Creole spots popping up around town, we're excited to explore and compare- but Lucille's has definitely set a high bar. You're in for quite an experience if you order the Sazerac- it's more impressive than any I've had in New Orleans.
