Yabby Hut has great service and their staff is attentive, kind, and professional. The parking is a bit stressful as Casa Bonita is right next door. Granted I didn't order seafood, I just was craving salad and soup this late at night. The salad was lacking with the yellow ice burg lettuce and old rotten cherry tomatoes. When I confronted the waiter about the rotten tomatoes he said, "okay" and walked away. Rude as fuck. The clam chowder was so underwhelming with the added bacon and not enough seasoning. I had been a fan of Yabby Hut for the past 15 years. They recently added a "naked" offering to their shrimp line up--a pound of their boil where the shrimp is peeled, deheaded, and completely deveined. I tried this last week in a to go order. I was so disappointed to discover that the shrimp was so overcooked as to be inedible. When shrimp is cooked right, it is pink, tender, and juicy. This shrimp was white, hard, and RUBBERY. I tried to suffer through a few but ended up not able to eat most of the pound. I emailed Yabby Hut that night explaining the issue and asking them to credit me the price of the pound of shrimp. This is a $21.99 menu item, plus tax, plus tip. They offered me just a $5 credit, and when I objected to that, they didn't reply again at all. I therefore disputed $28 of the bill with my credit card company, and after gathering all of the details from me, the credit card company approved my dispute. I will not be returning to Yabby Hut, ever. Not because they overcooked the shrimp, but because they failed to make it right when I complained. read more

The seafood, fries, corn, potatoes were all great. My daughter and husband loved the oysters and the boil-in-bag shelll fish. I on the other hand do not like that food. I ordered a salad and chicken sandwich. The salad and dressing were fine but the chicken sandwich was not the best. It was a frozen chicken patty on a beautiful bun with fresh produce. The Cajun fries for me was the best part of my meal. The bun, produce and fries were the best but that is it. I think having something other than frozen chicken would be so much better. I would suspect the kids menu chicken nuggets were frozen too. I would come back with the family but probably eat before I came by. read more

Be ready to get messy! This is Yabby Huts second location and recently just opened. The interior has plenty of seating for social distancing and you get to write your name on the walls! We went on a Friday night and had no problem getting a table. Our dinner included 1 Dungeness crab, 2 lbs of shrimp, corn, potatoes, crab fried rice and slaw. You can pick the seasoning and level of spiciness for each item! We got medium Cajun and everything was so yummy!! You can wear a bib and gloves, the entire meal is a huge mess and I loved it. I scoped out this place a while back and today I found myself right here. Good day to try it, I thought. I didn't go for the typical boiler in the bags today cuz my stomach just wasn't feeling it. But I did try the fried oysters, cuz I've been looking for a more reasonable place than I usually go. I also tried the clam chowder cuz the reviews were intriguing. The clam chowder came out just a little bit before the oysters and I was enjoying it as it was very chunky. It wasn't overly potatoey, but it had a good balance of potatoes, celery possibly onions? and clams. Clam chowder could always have more clams in my book! It arrived at my table hot and tasty, but I felt like there could have been more maybe? Then the oysters came. They were fried to the state of being almost like chicherones (sp?). I sent them back. The next batch we're done properly, but the oysters were very small, and I was not thrilled with the seasoning in the batter. I read another review that said that the sauce they served it with how to zip to it, I thought it was a little spicy. So I guess I'll have to keep looking for an epic place for fried oysters that don't break my bank. Sadly, this wasn't it. I may come back to try the boils, but it's really far from home and I have a place I already frequent. The ambiance was cliche and I'm never really thrilled to sit on a hard bench booth, but I understand why it needs to be that way, cuz this type of food can be messy. I love seafood boils, Cajun inspired dishes, and just seafood in general. I've heard mixed reviews about Yabby but finally gave it a try after being nagged about how great it was by a few acquaintances. I love that they have currently fresh crawfish available and a variety of add-on options to the boils. I ordered corn, noodles, and potatoes to accompany my boil. The noodles were plain even when drenched in their signature seasoning/sauce... the corn tasted old... but I did like their fries and potatoes. Crawfish tasted freshly boiled yet it didn't catch any noticeable flavor from the seasoning. Our waiter was polite and had a few hiccups in taking our orders to separate. However, we were a party of ten so I can't blame him too much for missing an item here and there. Bathrooms are clean but I wish they had sinks out in the open like other seafood boil locations to make it easier to wash without touching doors, etc. read more

The food was not up to Yabby Hut quality at all. I usually go to their other location. The prices have gone way up and there is absolutely NO PARKING. With Casa Bonita next door and the parking lot full everywhere, the other restaurants like the pizza place etc were bustling. Yabby hut had 2 tables with guests when we arrived at 6:30pm. I asked the waiter questions that he could not or world not answer about the crab that I wanted to order. The clam chowder wasn't as good as canned progresso. Nothing seemed fresh except the 1/2 dozen oysters that they claimed were blue points. I will go back to the other Yabby Hut location or the Crab House in Englewood where you get great food at far more reasonable prices. read more

We ordered takeout from this place and played it safe as we have a 15 months old toddler and wouldn't do well in a place where spicy food is spread across a table :) We ordered the yabby Cajun seasoned hot (pro) crawfish with corn & potato for myself and yabby Cajun seasoned medium (novice) shrimp headless for my wife with corn & potato for my wife. The staff was very friendly and our food was ready within 15-20 mins. The place is nice, has enough seating and would make a good dine in spot for a family get-together. The Cajun seasoning was well worth the try as it was our mouths were bursting with flavours while having the food. The hot wasn't too hot as we were expecting and the medium was very manageable and glad that we ordered 2 levels of spiciness to know the difference. Pretty sure the XXX would have been difficult to eat. We ate both our orders with plain rice at home and it was delicious. The crawfish and shrimp tasted fresh and I had read somewhere that this was the crawfish season. So make sure you go sometime in mid-March to mid-May to get fresh craw fish. We are spicy food lovers so pretty sure wouldn't try any other seasoning. So if you love hot/spicy seafood, this is the place. It's definitely worth a try. read more

I've been going here for 8 years and it's been one of the most consistent spots out here. I don't think they're as spicy as they used to be but it always has the same garlicky, buttery sauce. The service has definitely improved and I think since they expanded their space wait times have improved a ton. Wow absolutely some of the best clam chowder I have ever had in Colorado scrumdiddlyumptious . My oysters were fresh and on point the sauce that they came with had a nice spicy zip to it. I didn't order much since it was an unplanned visit to this restaurant just a quick bite but what I did order I was happy I did. I would definitely be coming back if I am in this area or who knows I might even drive all the way out here just for that clam chowder it is worth it . Dined in during lunch for a friend's birthday. We were seated right away. The food definitely satisfied our cravings! The Cajun sauce hit the spot! We ordered their snow crab, shrimp, and sausage. All tasted fresh and flavorful. The menu was available through QR Barcode. I've tried 2 other Cajun seafood around Federal Blvd area, and I prefer this one. They spaced the tables for safety and provided a bottle of hand sanitizer at the front counter by the entrance. Service was friendly.
