This is one of the original seafood boil spots here in Denver and I am obsessed with the sauce! We decided to order a pound of shrimp, crawfish, and two pounds of clams and we got the all in with triple X spice. The sauce has stayed the same since I've been coming here as a teenager back in 2012 and it's super garlicky and spicy. The service was great as usual and our server was very attentive. The only downside this time was some of our oysters had a weird smell and I had to stop eating them but I have never had a problem with the oysters here before so maybe it was just this time! We came here for lunch on Saturday and it was pretty empty but it was nice and quiet which we enjoyed.

Food was delicious! And the spice was SPICING!!! Medium is HAWWWTTTTT. The corn could've been a little more sweet. But no complaints.

As someone from California missing Boiling Crab this place satisfied the craving enough. I ordered shrimp whole, the shrimp was cooked well. The heat was different to my scale could have been spicier, so if you're a person who likes spicy maybe order a level above than what you normally would. The flavor was good but personally felt like it was missing and sauce. I later realized you can order extra sauce on the side. The service was great, waitress was nice and the food was brought out at a good time. Overall good experience and enough parking.

So good . Service was friendly, the place wasn't overly crowded and very family friendly. Nothing fancy about the decor but definitely welcoming . The seafood was fresh and well seasoned . My one complaint is beware if you're ordering spicy because they do NOT play with the spice , AT ALL. I love eating with my hands so I enjoyed every second of it . Best crab boil I have had out here thus far

There were 4 other tables in this small restaurant at 6:30 on a Wednesday night. The server was friendly and we were sat in a booth for our party of 4. The ambiance was casual and clean. The tables had the usual paper tablecloths that you see in a seafood boil restaurant. The napkins were paper from the pull-bin and the plastic ware was just that: plastic ware. They had an array of Pepsi products for $2.99 each (in paper cups) or a hot green tea for $1.99 (also in a paper cup). They were out of the mussels and the scallops. We started with a dozen raw oysters, which must have already been shucked because they came to the table within 30 seconds, served with limes (??), Zesta crackers, horseradish, Tabasco, salt/pepper, and cocktail sauce. There was no odor and they tasted delicious. Next, we ordered the crawfish chowder and seafood gumbo with rice. Lastly, the fried catfish, chicken tenders, sausages, Cajun fries, and curly fries. The soups were insanely (temperature) hot. It took a while before we could take a few bites. There were five pieces of very dry crawfish at the bottom of my chowder, but the flavor of both soups was overall good. The fries were perfect. The fish and the chicken were cooked to perfection while remaining crispy. The sausage was smoky and juicy. Great experience!

Ask the Community - The Crawling Crab

    Is there dine availability?

They're currently temporarily closed due to maintenance but are expected to reopen July 14th and will offer dine-in!

    Gluten free???? Anyone know?

Yes, a majority of their menu and the seafood boil is gluten free but other items on their menu may not be such as their garlic bread.

What would be the price range for two people?

It ranges depending on what you order and how much, but most likely around $50! I'd say it takes about $25 per person to get full.

Do they still do buffet style? Wondering because of covid protocols

    No they don't

Are their crawfish spicy?? Nose running spicy?

You can get your stuff extra hot and yes, it will make your nose run!

I would like to know how expensive this place is ? I really wanna try this place

You're looking at about $25 a person to get full.

He came here for a friend's birthday as a party of 12 on a Tuesday night around 7:30 PM. The ambience gives a real nautical vibe, resembling the inside of a grand ship with lots of dark woodworking. I believe our server's name was Matt although I could be remembering wrong (i should write down the names) but he was so attentive and great. He gave the best recommendations. Our group tried a number of different things at his advice, and it was all so good. It's really hard to find good oysters Rockefeller in this area being so far from the ocean, but water Grill has it down! We ended up ordering an additional plate of them because they went so fast. We also got the raw oyster platter with a few from different coasts, and Matt gave us the full rundown of where each one could be traced to and what the differences were generally. I didn't have a huge appetite so after the appetizer, I decided to have another appetizer as my meal. He recommended the halibut cheek, mentioning it was a more tender cut, and boy This was the highlight dish of my month. Not only was the fish so fresh and tender and delicious but the sauce it came in was so unique and breathtaking. It was creamy, but not too much so and had the perfect balance of flavors. I was so impressed. The birthday boy also recommended the crabcake and I was blown away by this as well, sometimes they are too crumbly or dry. This one was absolutely perfect. Around the table, we also tried the full lobster dinner, mussels, ahi tuna tacos and more. It was all divine and the prices were pretty fair

I will say for the oyster deal it has been good, but sometimes the oysters aren't cleaned well. Again a hit and miss. The ambiance is nice and soothing, very ocean blue. We have also tried some sides and other entrees. The shrimp entree was good but lacked some salt. The burger was amazing with the bacon jam and always have the best shoestring fries. I also got an order of the crispy rice that has a salmon and a tuna. The salmon was way too sweet and had a fishy aftertaste that I disliked. The truffle tuna was definitely the better one of the two. However, the rice itself was absolutely mushy and not necessarily crispy. It also didn't have the best flavor. Desserts tried were the olive oil orange cake and the brownie. both are OK and nice and sweet, but not something I would spend money on Overall, truly think this place is a hit and miss. Just depends on the night.
