We had a lovely dinner at Jack's, celebrating a special moment in our lives. They had delicious food with lovely staff.

We made a reservation at Jack's for our wedding anniversary earlier this week and were so happy we did! They had us set up at a nice table with cute little anniversary signs and the hosts mentioned it as well. We ordered cocktails and food pretty quickly, the cocktail was tasty and I couldn't wait to try the food. I ordered the wagyu filet with the lobster add on, and mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the spicy shrimp and lobster linguini. Everything was So damn good. Some of the best filet I've ever had! We ordered a little dessert as well, a brownie with their homemade Ice cream and sauce and after dinner coffee. So tasty! The service from our waitress was great and everyone we came across were so friendly. Prices were decent and fair too. Definitely recommend this place to anyone celebrating a special event or night out!

Really enjoyed this place, such a hidden gem. Great steak. Definitely going back soon.

We came here for a team dinner and had a great time. Our server Jeff was fantastic and took great care of us. I had the seafood risotto, Brussel sprouts and wedge salad and the shrimp for an appetizer which I could have eaten an entire plate of those myself. They were great at accommodating food allergies for me. Everyone loved their food and recommendations made to us. I would definitely go back to try more things.

This was one of the best meals, and the only reason why I'm giving it four instead of five stars is because of a little hiccup we had at the beginning. We were on time for our reservation, but the restaurant said our table wouldn't be ready for 30 minutes. There wasn't a whole lot of apology there. They ushered us upstairs to the bar area to wait (and buy drinks). A comped glass of champagne, or maybe a comped appetizer or dessert would have gone a long way and would have been the level of service we'd expect from a nicer, pricier restaurant such as Jack's. Obviously, that didn't happen. When we finally got our table, the evening did improve. Despite the less than stellar beginning, the rest of the evening was quite delightful. Service at our table was absolutely impeccable. We enjoyed the sashimi trio, and I get why Jack's makes a big deal out of their fish. The fish was so buttery and flavorful! The French onion soup was piping hot and full of all the classic flavors you'd expect. The Kansas City ribeye was more on the rare side of medium rare, but I actually didn't mind that. The meat was juicy and tender. Surprisingly, the French dip sandwich was probably our favorite over the steak. They use prime rib, and it is a standout. When your server tells you that of all the things the staff can pick for their shift meal they pick this sandwich, then you know you have something special. Finally, we ended the night with the chocolate chip cookie, as recommended by our server. It's definitely more of a skillet cookie, but without the skillet. Super soft and chewy and paired perfectly with housemaid ice cream. All in all, the meal was fantastic, and despite how the night started, we enjoyed ourselves. We'll likely be back.

exceptional service, and lovely vibe. i think i might have been out of my element on what to order, because i was really craving a steak, and the steak i got did not satisfy that. i recognize this is more of a me problem. i also didnt like the mocktail i got, but the server took it back when i mentioned that and didnt charge us for it. the brussels sprouts were my favorite part, but it mightve been a bit on the salty side. i also had a bite of the salmon, and it was absolutely amazing, maybe the best salmon ive ever had in my life. i think, next time i come here, i will get the salmon.

You just gotta love a good birthday dinner celebration. I requested at the time of the reservation for booth seating if available. When we got to the restaurant the hostesses let me know the only booth seating would be on the upstairs..:we threw caution to the wind and went for it. The upstairs turns out to have its own second bar and the booth and table was just perfect. Our waiter Vince was entertaining but just a tad too braggadocious and winded for us at times. We started off with a round of very well made cocktails. For appetizers we shared French onion soup and their top flight sashimi plate. The French onion soup was on point but coming from Southern California the sashimi had a wonderful presentation but was the one thing on this night that fell flat in the taste department. For our entrees we all went with the wagyu steaks champion style. We ordered and shared the poblano Mac and cheese and the Asian Brussels sprouts as our sides. This meal was as good as it gets. For dessert we did the three dessert platting and sang happy birthday. Jacks on pearl has a higher price point but knowing that going in know you will get a fine satisfying meal here for any occasion. Thank you Yelp family of reviewers helping me find a great restaurant for a birthday dinner in a town I had never stepped foot in before.

Very nice, classy restaurant. Service was pretty good . As far as food , few things were great while others were lacking. We ordered coconut shrimp . I would prefer them crispier. Sushi roll that we ordered had overcooked rice . It was way too mushy . Steak , however, had a nice sear and good seasoning. It was delicious. Fries were tasty too, crispy and hot . Salad was fresh and delicious. We also ordered French boule . It was very tasty and garlic butter was great! I didn't care much for the ice cream dessert. Apparently made in house but it didn't taste any better than store bought vanilla ice cream. It was very sweet too. Overall it was a good experience . I'm not certain I would return for a pricey dinner knowing other restaurants with slightly better food.

I'd most likely give them a 4.5. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu/ordering. The restaurant was also nice and very clean. It was just really loud inside. The food was pretty tasty. The sushi was the only let down because the rice was overcooked so everything was just a bit mushy since it was all the same texture. The steak however was the highlight! Cooked really well with a great sear. Pricey place but they had quality ingredients and overall good food.

Came to Jack's on Pearl Street for early evening drinks with friends and snagged a walk-in table on their patio without a wait at 5 PM on a Friday. Perfect summer vibe - relaxed but lively. The Triple Combo Sashimi (Otoro, Bluefin, Salmon) was the star - buttery, fresh, and worthy of its People's Choice Award at the 2024 RARE Steak Competition. Cocktails were just as impressive. The Ghost of Paradise might be my new favorite drink in Denver - tropical, balanced, and dangerously easy to sip. The Shore Fire was crisp, refreshing, and had just the right chili heat. Great food, inventive drinks, and excellent service. Ask for Ryan - he's the best. What I ordered: Triple Combo Sashimi* (Otoro, Bluefin, Salmon) - People's Choice Award Winner, RARE Steak Competition 2024 Ghost of Paradise - 4 Year Rum, Passionfruit, Coconut, Lime, Agave, Mint (clarified with dairy) Shore Fire - Green Chili Infused Vodka, California Aloe, Anjou Pear, Lime, Celery Bitters, Cucumber

Wagyu ribeye, Chilean sea bass and crispy Brussels sprouts
    David M.

Neat surprise to discover this place after it's already been open for a couple of years just south of us. Very much liked our server Kevin and the hip ambience. Liked the food but not "as good as it gets." Sprouts were tasty but too greasy. Their wagyu ribeye steak--which they called their signature dish--had excellent flavor, but, and I know it was the ribeye so fattier than other cuts, just too much gristle and fat on it for us. I thought the Chilean sea bass was excellent, along with another "but", ... not a huge fan of the pea sauce on which it was served. That said, absolutely loved the arancini app and we'll definitely return. Good vibes, good food and good service are things to be appreciated and we'll give ourselves another try of it down the road. In the meantime, if we were going to be in town over NYE it would be a place we'd think about for a special way to say goodbye to 2025. Have fun, and be safe. Happy New Year to you all, David M

The service was top notch. The environment was casual classy. I had a great time dining here the food was exceptional. The circus Brussels sprouts were a bit crispy ,next time I know to make a request for them not to be as crispy but they were good. Servers are very attentive familiar with the menu and provide service with a smile. I will be back.

If I could give a 4.5, I would, I think that's right on the money. The drinks were nice, the food was good, and the service was great! There were some very minor things that could use improvement in the food-- but I'm being VERY critical. The server was bragging about how nice and "not tough" the octopus is, so we made sure to get that for an appetizer. But it came plated a little sloppy, and I felt it to be pretty tough (not chewy), just tough. But the steaks were a highlight! We shared the filet flight. All three were very very good. One person at our table was vegan, and they catered to her very well. Her entree of a vegan risotto was actually the most beautiful plate on the table, and had some excellent flavors! The duck fat fries earn an honorable mention. They have some sugar on them, so they're sweet-- very interesting, but delicious. All in all, I had a great time, and the service pushed it over the edge. And the food was very well done, too. I'll be back here for dinner, annually, but back for happy hour more often. Thanks & Cheers! And see you next time!

We shared the wedge salad and they chopped and put on separate plates before bringing it out, talk about service! I could have ordered this 10x over. Every ingredient just tastes so fresh. Not only was the food to die for, our server, Arthur, was 10/10! He was the sweetest and gave the best recommendations. Let us take our time and didn't rush us out the door which was really appreciated. Our reservation was for 7:30 and I didn't see valet outside so we ended up parking in the parking garage close by. The restaurant does not validate your parking ticket if you park in the garage. I'm not sure if it's complimentary valet.

However, we ended up showing up an hour before our reservation hoping to just get seated and we got in right away. Cassey was our incredible waiter and he made the night very memorable. After learning it was our first time there, he very patiently walked us through the menu and how the restaurant generally worked with serving sizes. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The ambience was great and cozy. We sat on the patio and it was mildly windy but it still felt nice being kept away in a corner of downtown. Starting with the appetizers, you HAVE TO get the burrata with some bread. It's the perfect flavor combination with the texture of the bread crumbs. Absolutely delicious. The salad was also a really great refreshing balance with the heavier burrata and bread. It's such a simple salad with the most amazing flavors of pickled shallots, buttermilk dressing, and Parmesan. They truly have some of the best cheeses ever. For the mains, I got the lobster tagliatelle and my partner got the lamb rigatoni. We also got smashed potatoes to share with cheese. Everything was impeccable. I was hesitant to get the lobster dish because it's such a low chance that a lobster dish is actually going to taste as good because it's a very difficult dish to perfect but I can confidently say it's probably one of the best ones I've had. The tomato base sauce with celery and chile with the lobster is the perfect combination. I do have to say a DISCLAIMER if you're not good with spicy food it's not for you. It has a pretty strong kick throughout the eating process so do not get it if you can't handle spice. Other than that, it's one of the most flavorful seafood pasta dishes I've ever had. I tried my partners lamb rigatoni and they truly perfected the rendering of it in the sauce and it's such a perfect overall dish with a good serving for rigatoni in general. If you're extra hungry, I would get the cheesy potatoes, they are perfectly crispy on the outside and nice and warm on the inside with the perfect amount of cheese and salt flakes. To close the night, we, of course, got the tiramisu which was very well made. Now, I have been to Paris and actually had it with the best cream on earth so it won't top that. However, it is a close second and probably the best I've had in America. I highly highly highly recommend you try it out. The service is impeccable and Cassey was the best company to have around to talk about celebrations, house of dragon, and having a good night. Thanks for making my birthday a great experience!

We have a tradition of going out for steak…read moreevery year, but this time we were looking for something a little more casual than your typical upscale steakhouse. Bastien's ended up being exactly what we were looking for. The atmosphere is very old-school and welcoming. We weren't very sure how dressed up we needed to be, so I went with a casual button down and she wore a long skirt which made us over dressed compared to most in the restaurant. We saw everything from button-down shirts to T-shirts, shorts, hats, and flip-flops, so you can feel comfortable showing up however you want. We were seated upstairs, which ended up being a really cool space. With the string lights overhead and the circular room overlooking the dining room below. We started with a bottle of Oregon Cabernet Sauvignon, which was surprisingly reasonably priced for a steakhouse. It paired perfectly with our meal and was a great way to kick off the evening. For an appetizer, we ordered the roasted Brussels sprouts. They were prepared with an elote-inspired twist, featuring corn, onion, cotija cheese, and lime crema. I normally love Brussels sprouts, but this was probably the only miss of the evening for me. They weren't bad, just not something I'd order again. Every table also gets complimentary bread and butter. Nothing fancy, but it's always a welcome steakhouse tradition while you're waiting for your meal. For our entrées, my fiancée ordered the filet, and it was solid - perfectly cooked, tender, and probably my favorite steak of the night. Since it was my first visit, I wanted to try Bastien's signature 10-ounce New York strip with the famous sugar rub. I'm usually a filet person, but I wanted the full Bastien's experience. The sugar rub was fun to try. That said, if I had to choose between the two, I'd still take the filet next time. One thing that really sets Bastien's apart is the value. Every steak comes with vegetables (very small portion), your choice of potato, and your choice of soup or salad--all included in the price. That's almost unheard of at steakhouses these days. I had the loaded baked potato, which was excellent, while my fiancée ordered the mashed potatoes, and they were incredibly buttery and delicious. The value here is honestly second to none. Five stars for value alone. To top off the evening, the staff surprised us with a complimentary cheesecake for our anniversary. It was a really thoughtful gesture. Cheesecake isn't usually my first choice for dessert, and my fiancée isn't much of a cheesecake fan, so I ended up eating most of it--but I certainly wasn't complaining. It was delicious. If cheesecake isn't your thing, they also have other desserts available on the menu, but this one was a complimentary gift from the restaurant. Overall, Bastien's delivers exactly what it promises: a relaxed, old-school steakhouse serving quality food at prices that are becoming harder and harder to find. While we'll probably continue choosing some of Denver's more upscale steakhouses for milestone celebrations, Bastien's has earned a future visit from us. Between the quality of the steaks, the generous portions, and the unbeatable value, we'll definitely be back.

You can order your steak with any preparation, but we were here for the sugar steak we've heard so much about. Let me tell you - it did not disappoint! My steak was cooked to the correct temp (I ordered it rare), the broccoli was good, as was the baked potato. The establishment has a fun vibe and is tastefully decorated. The live dj was fun to watch and listen to. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and even the wine list. They made great recommendations for food and drink pairings. They were very attentive and friendly throughout our whole visit. The bread that is provided as a starter was light and fluffy. It came with a great whipped butter and olive oil. I ordered the lobster pasta and it was amazing. It was a little spicy for me, but the tomatoes added freshness to the bite. They added a lot of lobster so the price felt fitting. My partner got the Australian steak. The meat was very tender and perfectly cooked. We also got the Brussel sprout which were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. We ordered a chocolate lava cake for dessert which was delicious. The cake was moist and melty on the inside. The berries and ice cream added a lot of flavor and freshness to it. They validated our parking for the garage next door which was a pleasant surprise. We really enjoyed our visit here

Additionally, our server, Ryan C. went above and beyond and sat down with us to accomodate dietary restrictions for my brother in law and was very thorough with what he could offer for alternative food options. His quality of service was exceptional and was greatly appreciated. Sitting on the patio was a vibe as well and is an excellent place to grab drinks. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great spot in Five Points.

After reading other reviews and checking out photos beforehand, I knew the Colorado lamb was a must-order. It's not something I usually go for, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Absolutely worth the hype. We also ordered the birria short rib and hickory smoked picanha, and both were solid choices. The shrimp and corn grits were amazing, and I really loved the aged cheddar mac and cheese. Other dishes like the chickpea croquettes and the chili relleno were also pretty good and rounded out the meal nicely. The wait staff was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself has a cool, lively vibe. The only minor downside was that the outdoor heaters were a bit too hot, but that's a very small nitpick. Overall, an easy 5 out of 5 stars. Great food, great service, and a place I'd happily come back to.

After leaving a concert downtown, hoping to wait out traffic and the ride-share pick up craze- my husband and I wanted to get a quick bite and a drink. There were not many places open past 11pm on a Sunday, let alone serving food. I also came to the unfortunate realization that many of the late night places I use to frequent downtown have closed permanently since quarantine. While walking, I spotted Appaloosa from the corner of my eye. Lo & behold, not only were they open, but the menu was posted on the door with their late night hours going until 1 am. Though I had been before, I was not sure what the hours were, or if the kitchen was open late. We walked in and were greeted by live music and a friendly host. No cover charge, just a quick peak at the I.D. We sat at the bar while the band played jazz that added to the ambiance. Our bartenders were attentive and gave great conversation. We were immediately given menus and asked what we would like to drink. Katelyn took our food order promptly, and she was also funny and charismatic. We ordered the birria tacos, and they were absolutely amazing. The consommé was flavorful and bright, and the birria itself was tender and juicy. The food was so fantastic we forgot about our drinks! Appaloosa was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend, and we will be coming back very soon!

I also did not like how far away the restroom was considering not just the distance, but also the stairs from the main dining room. But the service was good, and every one was very friendly. Good food.
