We made a reservation at Jack's for our wedding anniversary earlier this week and were so happy we did! They had us set up at a nice table with cute little anniversary signs and the hosts mentioned it as well. You just gotta love a good birthday dinner celebration. I requested at the time of the reservation for booth seating if available. When we got to the restaurant the hostesses let me know the only booth seating would be on the upstairs..:we threw caution to the wind and went for it. The upstairs turns out to have its own second bar and the booth and table was just perfect. Our waiter Vince was entertaining but just a tad too braggadocious and winded for us at times. We started off with a round of very well made cocktails. For appetizers we shared French onion soup and their top flight sashimi plate. The French onion soup was on point but coming from Southern California the sashimi had a wonderful presentation but was the one thing on this night that fell flat in the taste department. For our entrees we all went with the wagyu steaks champion style. We ordered and shared the poblano Mac and cheese and the Asian Brussels sprouts as our sides. This meal was as good as it gets. For dessert we did the three dessert platting and sang happy birthday. This was one of the best meals, and the only reason why I'm giving it four instead of five stars is because of a little hiccup we had at the beginning. We were on time for our reservation, but the restaurant said our table wouldn't be ready for 30 minutes. There wasn't a whole lot of apology there. They ushered us upstairs to the bar area to wait (and buy drinks). A comped glass of champagne, or maybe a comped appetizer or dessert would have gone a long way and would have been the level of service we'd expect from a nicer, pricier restaurant such as Jack's. Obviously, that didn't happen. When we finally got our table, the evening did improve. Despite the less than stellar beginning, the rest of the evening was quite delightful. Service at our table was absolutely impeccable. We enjoyed the sashimi trio, and I get why Jack's makes a big deal out of their fish. The fish was so buttery and flavorful! The French onion soup was piping hot and full of all the classic flavors you'd expect. The Kansas City ribeye was more on the rare side of medium rare, but I actually didn't mind that. The meat was juicy and tender. Surprisingly, the French dip sandwich was probably our favorite over the steak. They use prime rib, and it is a standout. When your server tells you that of all the things the staff can pick for their shift meal they pick this sandwich, then you know you have something special. Finally, we ended the night with the chocolate chip cookie, as recommended by our server. It's definitely more of a skillet cookie, but without the skillet. Super soft and chewy and paired perfectly with housemaid ice cream. All in all, the meal was fantastic, and despite how the night started, we enjoyed ourselves. We'll likely be back. read more

Sushi roll that we ordered had overcooked rice . It was way too mushy . Steak , however, had a nice sear and good seasoning. It was delicious. Fries were tasty too, crispy and hot . Salad was fresh and delicious. We also ordered French boule . It was very tasty and garlic butter was great! I didn't care much for the ice cream dessert. What do you get the person who is difficult to shop for? A nice dinner out. I took my hubby here last weekend as an early Christmas present. We were sat in a corner booth, facing the fish that are dry aging. We had the privilege of Paul as our server. He was excellent! It's obvious he enjoys his job and the establishment. He was helpful, knowledgeable, and prompt. Such a pleasure! We started with the quadruple sashimi combo - all unique and delicious, though the king salmon and yellowtail were my favorites. For main events, we each got filets: champion style for my hubby, Oscar style for me. The steaks have a nice char flavor from the wood grill. They're incredibly tender. The accompaniments were lovely as well with both preparations - we each stole a bite of the other's. We shared the Brussels sprouts as well, which were served family style. Very tasty. Neat surprise to discover this place after it's already been open for a couple of years just south of us. Very much liked our server Kevin and the hip ambience. Liked the food but not "as good as it gets." Sprouts were tasty but too greasy. Their wagyu ribeye steak--which they called their signature dish--had excellent flavor, but, and I know it was the ribeye so fattier than other cuts, just too much gristle and fat on it for us. I thought the Chilean sea bass was excellent, along with another "but", ... not a huge fan of the pea sauce on which it was served. That said, absolutely loved the arancini app and we'll definitely return. Good vibes, good food and good service are things to be appreciated and we'll give ourselves another try of it down the road. Our delightful server, Cheyenne, took great care in her recommendations. We started with the Blackberry Margarita -- yummy! My Sweetheart decided to take the opportunity to treat me to a Christmas dinner here and I am so very glad she did. I will start off by saying the small corner booth on the upper part of the main floor was a wonderful little place for two to sit. The restaurant ambiance is energetic, just the right amount of noise. Paul was exemplary as our server. Came with great energy, a super friendly personality, and plenty of recommendations. He simply did not lead us astray. I had the 7 oz tenderloin served champion style. Cheesy duck fat potatoes and oh so delightfully grilled steak. Flavorful beyond belief. Last night we went to Jack's on Pearl for restaurant week. There were 4 of us but unfortunately my wife was sick and decided to go home. So three of us decided to still have dinner. We were early for our reservation so we had some drink at the bar. The hostess, bartender and waiter were nice. We got seated and looked over the menu which, we ordered off the restaurant week menu. I asked the waiter if I could order my wife's food to-go and get it after we were done with dinner The waiter said of course. My friend ordered some oysters which were disappointing, small not much flavor for $42 it wasn't worth it. The waiter asked if we would like some bread, we said yes. But come on $10 dollars. The waiter brought us the 1st coarse Restaurant Sashimi Combo (3 pieces) Dry Aged Bluefin Tuna with coconut-mango salsa and topped with kizami wasabi, pickled fresno chilies, and black garlic. Had no flavor. Nothing to brag about. 2nd coarse came and my son and my friend ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and I ordered the King Salmon. They brought the Chilean Sea Bass out and my wife's ordered Tortellini dish. I told the waiter this was my wife's dish and it was to go. He said my apologies. I put your order in wrong. The waiter just put my wife's food in a brown bag and brought it to the table. When I got home the tortellini melted the styrofoam. They didn't even offer to have it remade. My son and my friend started eating their food which my son share some of his but I was left there with nothing to eat finally after they were done with their meal they brought me my salmon. No one of upper management came to apologize or offered something for my wait time. Clearly it was their mistake. It was embarrassing to sit there waiting for my dish, after about 20 minutes it came out. It look like the dish was rushed and it says on the menu wood grill but look more like it was pan seared finish in the oven. The Chilean Seabass that my son and my friend ordered was actually good but pea puree had no flavor and was neo green like they put green food coloring in it. 3rd course was dessert Ghirardelli Brownie Bites with House Crafted Ice Cream Chocolate brownie topped with a scoop of our house- made ice cream, Chantilly cream, and drizzled with a caramel and chocolate sauce. The brownie bite was small not that very good and the ice cream was already melted. Jack's Key Lime Pie Bites Chantilly cream topped key lime pie, with raspberry sauce, French macarons and waffle cookies. After we got done with the desserts. The manager came up and asked us if we could move to the bar. We thought they had another reservation and we kindly moved. I asked why and was told that we were a little loud and the couple next to us complaint. We were never for warned to keep it down. Just can we move to the bar. After dropping almost $800 at this place was very disappointing and handled unprofessional. We probably spent more money than the couple next to us. We didn't get thank you for coming in. Our waiter greeted us and told us a bit about the restaurant as well as his recommendations. We sat in a cozy booth. The restaurant was lively, but not too loud. We ordered a 12 piece sashimi. Each type of fish had its own sauce with it. These were amazing! My partner got the champion fillet and I ordered the lobster and shrimp linguine. Now I'm not usually a steak person, but his steak was SO GOOD. I would highly recommend eating here if you want a well done meal with layered flavors. Every single thing we ate was delicious.
