We ate at the downtown location a few years back and remember good food, fast services and clean space. Upon entering this location, it's a lively place with happy regulars at the bar. It's a large place with good music. The one thing that bugged me (pun intended) was all the gnats flying around our (inside) table. Swatting was needed to keep them off the food. The cherry bombs are yummy. The burgers good and the frings just ok. We had to wait a very long time for our check. We had to send for someone to get our waiter to bring it. Went here for dinner after checking out the Christmas market and definitely left feeling full and satisfied. The speciality burgers they offer are a little too over the top for my taste. Don't give me wrong they sound delicious, but I don't think I'd want my entire meal to be one. I'd like to try a bite of each. I ended up making my own 1/4 lb burger with a crispy poblano, chipotle aïoli, and fresh jalapeños it was nice and spicy and delicious! They offer both 1/4 and 1/2 pound burgers. Huge restaurant, steady service and good food are its hallmarks. Sat us for a group of 11 even though we weren't all there. Okay. So, gave Cherry Cricket another chance. My mom was in town (this seemed up her alley), I was pregnant and reallllly craving a burger, so it felt like a good choice and you know what... it was! No beer for me, but the on tap selection was stellar and my mom enjoyed her local IPA. I went with a chocolate shake with heath bar and it was delish. My mom had a bison burger with jalapenos, I had the burger or the month which was gnarly, messy and worth it and we split a basket of fries. Honestly, a win. Now, fast forward to last night. My parents were in town and again, thought they'd like the vibe. It was a lovely evening and I also figured they had ample space for my newborn's stroller. Again... Success! We were seated right away and had a few options to pick from outside that fit us and bebe. The staff was very considerate and even took us out a backway to avoid stairs and removed some chairs for the stroller to fit. It's the little things, y'all. For drinks, my mom again enjoyed a local IPA (Telluride) and my dad and I had shakes - mine was chocolate and Reese's this time. We all split fries and for burgers my mom again has the bison, I went for a new burger of the month (featuring cherry pepper jam, bacon, spicy cheese sticks, and tortilla strips), and my dad has the winning 303 burger which featured chile rellano. Each one was very tasty and very filling! We all only ate half which my husband was very happy about as he got the leftovers that night :) It was our servers first shift after training and they did great. Energetic and personable. This is a Colorado staple and a must try when you are in town! I crave coming here at least 2-3 times a month because of how good their burgers are! This is by far my FAVORITE BURGER PLACE! The environment is laid back and the service is always great. This restaurant has won multiple awards for their delicious burgers and if you come here you can see why. What's also fun about this restaurant is that they have burgers of the month if you are wanting to try something new. I heard raving reviews of Cherry Cricket. So, of course I had to visit. Finally found parking, and a nice walk to location. Establishment is larger than expected with several separate dining areas. Wait staff were excellent, I think one for each dining area. He was pleasant and very attentive. I'm a Texas girl and used to extra napkins and straws normally being brought to table. Has to ask for them but no biggie. He was still great! Ordered the Cherry Cricket burger with Frings. I love homemade onion rings which he said they were but they didn't appear like it. None the less, the French fries were AWESOME. Burger was great as well and I loved the Pickles. Full bar that I didn't take advantage of since I was just getting to town and still needed to drive out to Airbnb. We shared chips, salsa, and guacamole as an appetizer, and the servings were fairly large. I built my own burger, complete with an impossible burger patty, avocado, and onion rings (and the lettuce and tomato all the burgers come with). I gotta say that this was a great meal to start off our Denver trip! Cherry Cricket offers a variety of burgers that are pre made or the option to build your own. Let me start off with saying that these burgers are absolutely massive! I'd say the burger is big enough to share or if you decide to have your own, you'll either be really stuffed or come home with leftovers. The burgers themselves were both really good!! We asked for both medium rare and they did that perfectly and I'd say that all the flavors in the cricket royale worked so well together. I'd say that the price point for the premade burgers on the menu are pretty fair but the price for the build your own burgers can go up FAST dependent on what you add. We came at around 10pm and were seated immediately. The ambiance was casual, yet lively because there was still a decent amount of people there. Came here on a whim looking for a good burger with my husband. I knew this has been a Denver staple for years, but I was extremely pleased to find why! The burgers we had were absolutely mouth watering, the patio we sat on was spacious and comfortable and relatively private with a fun retro vibe. Husband ordered the 983 Big Cheesy which was like something out of Shaggy from Scooby Doo's dreams. It comes with Mac and cheese, a fried poblano, Jalepeno Cheetos (yes, CHEETOS!) l, bacon Jalepeno jam and a thick slice of "government cheddar." It melded so well though, and we both appreciated how even though it could've come across as a muddy, stoner burger, it was well executed, the Cheetos didn't even get soggy. I decided on the B.O.T.M (Burger of the month) which was a Birria burger. The consumé it came with was the perfect amount of slightly greasy, soupy and spicy. A good amount of shredded beef birria, onions and cilantro complemented the burger and overall it was just a fun culinary experience to have the Americana tradition of a delicious juicy burger fused with one of my favorite Mexican dishes. Last but NOT least we split the boozy Sweet Surrender shake which is made with chocolate vodka, peanut butter whiskey, Reese's, and icecream.
