Went Saturday 4/24 with four people and ordered the following items: one Pho Tai regular ($13), one Pho Tai Gan regular ($13), and one large pho Tai Gan ($14), Bun thit nuong cha gio ($15) and 4 piece cha gio ($9), total is $64. They charged us $77 and since this was in cash, we did not realize until after we left. Thought the extra $13 was due to tax but after we left, images on menu said sales tax is included. Very dishonest restaurant. Not surprising how all the recent reviews are also bad ratings because this restaurant has a history of being scammers. And I know Vietnamese and overheard an employee saying "ma con quỷ dể đi" when we paid the bill and gathering our stuff to leave like lol?

#44 grilled pork and spring rolls WITHOUT VEGGIES PERSONAL PREFERENCE ORDER

Today one of the workers from the beginning like 25 yrs ago recognized me and warmly greeted me. It's one of the best Vietnamese food in NYC. Last time another worker was rude there but I haven't seen him last couple of times. Maybe that rude guy quit. Either ways I'm always a returning customer. It's cheaper than Thai food. If you want to diet this is great because they hardly use any oil.

Can't go wrong with Pho Bang. Neighborhood staple since I was young. If you want a quick pho fix, come here.

Favorite pho spot since childhood! The food is always delicious and the service is pretty decent! I love their pho noodles with brisket, spring rolls and their pork chops with white rice! Their prices are very fair and affordable!

3.25 Pho Bang--serving up Vietnamese staples for several decades now, they've been on the block for longer than some people have been around the block. I've been here more times than I can count so I'm surprised I never wrote a review! It's been several years since my last visit so decided to drop by when I was in the area. There's no recognizable attempt at decor so don't expect an instagrammable flower wall or customized neon light sign. The ambiance that greets you would be that of locals gathering with family and friends around a hearty meal. They've withstood the test of time without noticeable changes mostly because their concept of "decent food, fast and well-priced" works. Prices have increased with inflation though $12.00 for a large bowl of pho is still a price not found in most of Manhattan anymore. My latest visit my friend and I ordered: #25 TAIGAU 生牛肉網油河粉 Combination rice noodles, beef soup with fresh eye of round and brisket $12: Broth was ok, the meat was a sizeable amount though my friend commented that the quality tasted a little less than they were used to, having eaten here before. Still quite a hearty bowl of noodle soup and my friend ate the whole bowl. #44 BUN CHA GIO THIT NUONG 春卷燒豬肉檬 Spring Rolls and Marinated Grilled Pork on Rice Vermicelli $13. The marinated pork was thinner than I remembered though they still have several pieces. The fried spring rolls were decent. The veg mixed in with the bun (rice vermicelli) were fresh and I enjoyed my meal. As many have mentioned, cash only. I haven't been inside their bathrooms since pre-fire so can't comment on these. They're not winning any awards for having the cleanest floor though post-fire the ground is not quite the greasy slip-and-slide it was prior. Despite their questionable level of floor cleanliness, I will say that I've never gotten ill from eating food here (knock on wood), and generally tables look manageably clean. I will give them credit in that they really run like a well-oiled machine here, the staff are no frills but prompt, direct and generally courteous. The food comes out fast--for pho ours came out within 2 minutes of placing our order, and the bun flowed a few minutes after that. For a quick casual meal or takeout, I'd certainly recommend.

Having pho during winter is always good idea. It's so goood. The broth is so refreshing and I really love their Vietnamese coffee!

Came here one day for a quick bite. The set up of this place was very quick, they already have menus set up on all of the clean tables so you go in and seat yourself. Soon after, a waiter came and took our order. We ate and paid up front. The food was really good as well. Pho is always nice and comforting! The only thing that we wished was that our food came out a little hotter (but I think that was more of a preference thing than anything because the soup was still hot enough to cook the meat). Overall, I will be back again, I love how quick and easy everything was!

This is hands-down the best Vietnamese restaurant in Queens. It's been a staple in the area for years, and every time I come, it never disappoints. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and comes out unbelievably fast. The service is always great friendly, efficient, and attentive. Even when they're packed, you never wait long for your food. My only complaint? I wish they delivered or were on Uber Eats I'd honestly order from here every day. They're cash only!

The spring rolls were a highlight. So crispy, great sauce, and tons of lettuce. I got the chicken pho and I thought it was great! My bf got the beef pho and he didn't love the beef but still thought the place was good. I still think Thai Son has the best pho in NYC tho but this is a great local spot. Tried the pickle lemonade with soda/ sparkling, loved that it was savory but I did think it was a bit too sweet. I forgot if it said soda or sparkling but it kinda tasted like sprite. Liked it regardless. Everyone talking about the place being dirty is dragging it. Get the transplants out of NYC fr this ya standard Elmhurst Asian food spot with a lil grease on the table.

Came here for Pho to try it out. I had high expectations since people compared it to the nearby Viet restaurants nearby. It's also at the heart of Elmhurst Ave, a half block away from the train station. To start, they have lots of available seating and it's usually never a wait for seats. Their service is exceptionally fast. Within 3 minutes of ordering, your food is right in front of you! Definitely one of the quickest. The broth is like any other, except it's lacking a bit in flavor, IMO. The meat is pretty good, fresh! And the bowl of pho is packed with cilantro and green onions which is always a plus! Adds some flavor to every bite! The bean sprouts were also nice and fresh. What I love was that the bowl was packed with lots of noodles. A good change from restaurants nowadays. You definitely get your moneys worth! It was actually too much for me haha and I didn't end up finishing it. When it's time to pay the bill, they actually do it differently here. Normally in restaurants, the waiter brings you the bill and you pay and wait for your money back and then you tip. Here, this doesn't happen- they make you go up to the front of the restaurant to the cashier and then go back to your seats to give the tip- eyeing you like a hawk the entire time to make sure you don't leave without giving a tip, even if you were already planning to tip them well for the speedy food service. Overall, Average pho. Nothing too special about it. If you're looking for a place to sit down, eat and leave when you're in a rush or don't want to wait- this is it. It does the job.

Jenn C.

Food: The pho is very average here. The first sip of the broth was very underwhelming and not as flavorful as I expect pho to be. The meat was good and not overcooked. They also do you have a good amount of tendon, but I wasn't very impressed with the pho overall. There is much better pho in other places around the city. Service: Service was disappointing. The staff seem very impatient and are not friendly. Seems like they want to get you in and out of there as soon as possible. Ambiance: The restaurant is very casual and has tables for larger and smaller groups. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. I won't be returning here.

Keepin it real out here in Elmhurst Been a few years since this place is back, feels good but wish the food can be more amazing. Such a great comeback story but the food is just not 100% there. It's still good of course, but doesn't hit every time as it supposed to. Has the potential to be the legendary pho spot.

I went back to Pho Bang and I really don't think I would ever come back unless it was only for pho. The place is literally filthy and the dishes and tables are covered with food bits and greasy finger prints. The fish sauce had a bug floating in it and the lettuce had dirt and some white goop on it. Sadly, I had already eaten some of it. In addition to very blatant tax evasion AND them raising prices since last time I came, I don't think I would come back. $11.50 pho is now $13 and I'd rather pay a few more dollars at a place where they have at least some respect for cleanliness and not having every single health violation. I think this place needs to be shut down

Service was poor. The cashier had a very unfriendly, "poker face" attitude and didn't seem welcoming at all.

The pho came with sides of bean sprouts, fresh basil and lime wedge. I enjoyed my pho but wouldn't order the spider (fried soft shell crab) roll again. Not enough flavor for the roll even with the peanut sauce. Service was attentive (several refills of tea) and friendly. The place felt clean and not too noisy -- this was on a rainy Satuday night. Not sure if it gets really crowded and noisy on weekends generally.

Portions are generous enough to share, though you may not want to once you get a taste. If you happen to visit on a day when they have the bone marrow available, don't hesitate--order it immediately. It's a rare treat (they only have it once in a blue moon), but when they do, it takes the bowl to another level. Beyond the pho, the crispy spring rolls are a must-try. The crackly, golden exterior with the savory meat inside makes for an addictive combo. Their grilled pork over rice is another standout--tender, flavorful, and satisfying. Overall, Pho Best is a reliable go-to for comfort food, big portions, and some memorable specialties when you're lucky enough to catch them. Highly recommended.

They do have a restroom for customers, but bare minimum seating and tables for people to dine in. Don't expect to get any table service, and it's first come, first seating. I saw a lot of supreme stuff all over the restaurant, too. The bike and boxes inside made it look like a warehouse or a large closet, too. It threw me off. You would order and then grab a seat. Someone will bring the food to your table if you're eating there. They do have ac, so that's good if you're trying to escape the heat. My friend and I ate inside and got the summer rolls, which wasn't tightly wrapped, and it was so hard to eat. It came apart right away, which I've never seen happen before. I don't suggest getting it at all. It was too messy to eat, and the ingredients were mainly noodles. I got the taro tea as that doesn't have caffeine inside of it. For my main meal, I got the hot pot noodle soup with a medium spice level with been tendon and fatty beef. The bad part about it was that my stomach hurt after an hour or so. I didn't eat breakfast, so it was definitely a reaction from this meal.

It's not in Manhattan, but I'm telling you -- it's worth the trip. It's located right next to Little Thailand and easy to find with Google Maps. One downside is that the space is very small. They only have four small tables for two and one larger table for 3-4 people, so it might be difficult for bigger groups unless you make a reservation. We arrived right after they opened, and not long after, the whole place was packed. Besides the size, the restaurant is really pretty and cozy. The menu is interesting and offers a wide variety of dishes -- fried, stir-fried, grilled, soups, and more. Here's what we ordered: Crab Fried Rice - We ordered it without much thought, just to try it, and it ended up being one of the best Thai dishes we've ever had. Even my husband (who is Laos/Thai) loved it. He rarely gets to eat crab because his mom has a severe allergy, so this was special for him too. (We forgot take picture lol) Crispy Pork Belly - Served super hot and crispy. I love that they battered it instead of just deep-frying it plain. It had great texture and was so flavorful. Tum Thai (Thum Mak Hoong) - We ordered it very spicy and asked if they could make it Laos-style. They tried, and it was pretty good. It was slightly lacking the strong fermented fish sauce (padek) punch that gives it that bold, pungent flavor. But honestly, it's still very close to Northern style -- just more approachable and less intense, so more people can enjoy it. Sticky Rice - Served the traditional way in a bamboo basket (aep khao) with a lid, which keeps it piping hot. I love when restaurants keep it authentic like that. We wanted to order more because there were so many options, but just three dishes were already enough for us -- we even had leftovers. They packed everything very securely; I carried the papaya salad around all day and it didn't spill at all. It is pretty pricey, but honestly, it's worth trying at least once for the quality and authenticity. We'll definitely bring his parents here next time we're back in NYC.

This place feels like a hidden gem you almost want to keep secret... but it's just too good not to share. What makes Pho Metro stand out right away is how authentic it feels. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. One guy runs the show and somehow manages to do it all, from cooking to serving, and the care he puts into the food absolutely shows in every single bite. It has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel like you've stepped into a small family kitchen rather than just another restaurant. The food itself is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the herbs to the broth. I highly recommend the thin noodles with the spicy lemongrass broth (you can request this if it's not listed). It's bursting with flavor, slightly tangy, perfectly spicy, and deeply savory in a way that warms you from the inside out. Every spoonful feels like a cozy blanket on a cold day. The summer rolls are another must-order. They're fresh, light, and packed with flavor, and the peanut sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. It's rich, savory, and addictive enough that you'll find yourself scraping the cup to get every last drop. Another detail I really appreciated is how everything you need is right at your fingertips. All the sauces are readily available at the table, so you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it without having to ask or wait. It makes the whole experience feel easy, comfortable, and welcoming. And don't skip the Thai iced tea. It's perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing, especially alongside the bold flavors of the pho. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Overall, this place delivers on flavor, authenticity, and heart. It's rare to find a spot where you can truly taste the effort and pride in every dish, but Pho Metro does exactly that. I will absolutely be returning again and again.
