Friendly and good food. I love the presentation of the dishes. Everything is tasty. Whether it is hot or cold dish.

Not sure why this place has bad reviews. It's a casual, local spot that serves a comforting bowl of pho. Service is efficient and food comes out quickly. The special crispy spring rolls were delicious and super flavorful. The beef pho was aromatic, refreshing, and filling. Pricing is great, too.

I decided to come back after the rating changed from C & B to A. The menu seemed different from what I remembered it to be like from last time.

The food is absolute chef's kiss with a meld of vietnamese flavors. The minus one star is that service can be kinda slow and the wait staff can be a tad forgetful so pack your patience as you delve into delicious food and the shortest trip to Vietnam. You know a place is good when theres people waiting outside. The pho bowls are large steaming goodness of meat slices with bean sprouts and a squeeze of lime and noodles. I got the pork with vermicelli noodle which came with some veggies and topped off with some peanut bits (see picture), was around $14. Very tasty! I'd also recommend getting the spring rolls top, a hint of mint and shrimp in a rice roll.

I order a pho beef. The soup base is pretty good. but only with a few piece of beef in it and a lot of rice noodle . for $12 they could've added a few more pieces. The service is quick. The place is clean.

Good pho, huge portions, great value. Their buns are good too especially in the hot summer months. Try the fresh lemonade or Vietnamese iced coffee. The sauté watercrest with garlic is a great side dish.

Food was subpar today. It seems like they fried the soft shell crab in either old oil or oil that wasn't up to temp. The crab just had an overly oily, heavy taste and feel to it. The Pho was its usual self... pretty OK. Service was speedy, but they could learn to not reach over you to get to customers in the adjacent table. We were seated towards the back, by the restroom, and there was a terrible draft. The whole establishment felt cold. Most patrons did not even take off their coats.

No complaints! Temperature, Taste, Everything was fantastic! Waiters were very attentive. The ambiance wasn't too fancy but very cozy with cultural accents.

We have frequented this location in the past and enjoyed the food overall. The food this visit tasted great but we are rating 3 stars because the service and the condition of the restaurant was noticeably not as good as in the past.

I went on a pho craze as the weather started getting colder and I ordered from this place three days in a row via Ubereats. I get the big bowl and love that everything is separated, which makes this a great choice for delivery. The soup comes in a massive container and it's more than enough for the noodles. When it arrives, the bowl looks pretty small and the noodles are packed in, but I usually throw everything into a stove pot and heat everything up. The noodles then end up expanding and it's quite a large portion. Highly recommend!

The service here is always quick and very direct. The staff is not unfriendly, just very fast with everything. We had not been seated 2 mins before the waitress asked if we're ready to order. The food is yummy, tastes authentic and is decently priced. I like how the dishes here are made with simple ingredients but make for a flavorful punch together. The space is pretty open and has some nice decor to complement the walls.

I give this restaurant two thumbs down. Why? 1) Inattentive and rude waitstaff 2) Not authentic Vietnamese food. Spring roll tasted and looks horrible. It didn't even taste like Vietnamese springs rolls. Bbq vermicelli noodles was a mess. All the noodles were broken up into pieces and bbq pork was way too salty. I cant quite pinpoint what it is but the flavor was off. 3) Bathroom is dirty If you want authentic Vietnamese food I suggest going to Pho Bang.

3-3.5 Stars! Ok, let's get real. I did NOT pick this restaurant, and honestly, was very hesitant of going to this restaurant due to it's 2.5 Star Yelp rating! LOL Well, I went, but had already lowered my expectations. Surprise, Surprise! It wasn't as bad as I was expecting! Definitely not a 5 Star restaurant, but a decent 3-3.5 Stars! This is our menu (shared by 6 ppl): -- House Vietnamese Rice Noodles ($16.95): good. Nice flavors. -- Lemongrass BBQ Short Ribs ($16.95): good -- Vietnamese Pineapple Fried Rice with Cubed Pork Chop ($14.95): tasty! -- Lemongrass BBQ Chicken Chops ($9.95): This was the least liked dish. It was bland and boring. -- Lemongrass BBQ Squid ($10.95): This is a whole BBQ Squid. You can cut it yourself or ask them to cut it for you (which we did). Great dish! Get this! -- Salt & Pepper Shrimp ($16.95): save the best dish for last! This was my fave dish of the night. This was perfect. I even ate the whole shrimp; head and all, which I hardly ever do. lol Get this! Although this restaurant is not much to look at from the outside, the inside is surprisingly pretty and nicely decorated. Service and hospitality were friendly and efficient. For a 2.5 Star rated restaurant, this place is always packed! Maybe the locals know something we don't?!?!

Culantro (Eryngium foetidum)…read more My favorite pho place in Queens switched to culantro from the usual Asian basil as fresh herb garnish. Culantro is a long narrow leaf with sawtooth edges. I haven't seen this in the Northern Philippines. It doesn't look appetizing in this picture but it does taste good, as if the crinkles were intended to make it more flavorful (has to fact check this assumption). I like culantro. This herb is bright, zesty and greatly enhanced the light and clear broth of the pho. A staff member said it's just a seasonal change. The herb for cha gio remains the same, fresh mint. #curious_eater

I already knew the area wasn't the best looking area, so that part didn't surprise me. But the restaurant itself was something I had never experienced before in NYC. I'm a huge food lover and I'm willing to travel when I'm craving something specific. I've eaten everywhere, from high-end restaurants to tiny family owned spots. But this was by far the dirtiest restaurant I've ever been to in New York City. I genuinely wonder how the health department hasn't shut this place down. Since I was already there and hungry, I decided to take the risk and give it a shot anyway. I regret it. I honestly felt bad about allowing myself and my wife to eat there. The walls near the kitchen and bathroom were disgusting, the tables were dirty, and if you sit near the kitchen, you can literally see the staff grabbing basil leaves and bean sprouts with their bare hands to serve customers. No gloves, no tongs, nothing. I was honestly speechless about the hygiene situation. At one point, a waitress brought herself a summer roll, stood right next to our table, grabbed sauce from another customer's table, and started eating while standing there. There was so much going on in that place that I honestly can't even explain it properly. If you ask me about the food itself, I don't think it was bad. But at the same time, I can't give a fair opinion because my brain simply wouldn't let me enjoy the meal peacefully while constantly noticing the chaos and lack of cleanliness around me. I would not recommend this place if hygiene and cleanliness matter to you. This place is unbelievably dirty.

It's not in Manhattan, but I'm telling you -- it's worth the trip. It's located right next to Little Thailand and easy to find with Google Maps. One downside is that the space is very small. They only have four small tables for two and one larger table for 3-4 people, so it might be difficult for bigger groups unless you make a reservation. We arrived right after they opened, and not long after, the whole place was packed. Besides the size, the restaurant is really pretty and cozy. The menu is interesting and offers a wide variety of dishes -- fried, stir-fried, grilled, soups, and more. Here's what we ordered: Crab Fried Rice - We ordered it without much thought, just to try it, and it ended up being one of the best Thai dishes we've ever had. Even my husband (who is Laos/Thai) loved it. He rarely gets to eat crab because his mom has a severe allergy, so this was special for him too. (We forgot take picture lol) Crispy Pork Belly - Served super hot and crispy. I love that they battered it instead of just deep-frying it plain. It had great texture and was so flavorful. Tum Thai (Thum Mak Hoong) - We ordered it very spicy and asked if they could make it Laos-style. They tried, and it was pretty good. It was slightly lacking the strong fermented fish sauce (padek) punch that gives it that bold, pungent flavor. But honestly, it's still very close to Northern style -- just more approachable and less intense, so more people can enjoy it. Sticky Rice - Served the traditional way in a bamboo basket (aep khao) with a lid, which keeps it piping hot. I love when restaurants keep it authentic like that. We wanted to order more because there were so many options, but just three dishes were already enough for us -- we even had leftovers. They packed everything very securely; I carried the papaya salad around all day and it didn't spill at all. It is pretty pricey, but honestly, it's worth trying at least once for the quality and authenticity. We'll definitely bring his parents here next time we're back in NYC.

This place feels like a hidden gem you almost want to keep secret... but it's just too good not to share. What makes Pho Metro stand out right away is how authentic it feels. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. One guy runs the show and somehow manages to do it all, from cooking to serving, and the care he puts into the food absolutely shows in every single bite. It has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel like you've stepped into a small family kitchen rather than just another restaurant. The food itself is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the herbs to the broth. I highly recommend the thin noodles with the spicy lemongrass broth (you can request this if it's not listed). It's bursting with flavor, slightly tangy, perfectly spicy, and deeply savory in a way that warms you from the inside out. Every spoonful feels like a cozy blanket on a cold day. The summer rolls are another must-order. They're fresh, light, and packed with flavor, and the peanut sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. It's rich, savory, and addictive enough that you'll find yourself scraping the cup to get every last drop. Another detail I really appreciated is how everything you need is right at your fingertips. All the sauces are readily available at the table, so you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it without having to ask or wait. It makes the whole experience feel easy, comfortable, and welcoming. And don't skip the Thai iced tea. It's perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing, especially alongside the bold flavors of the pho. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Overall, this place delivers on flavor, authenticity, and heart. It's rare to find a spot where you can truly taste the effort and pride in every dish, but Pho Metro does exactly that. I will absolutely be returning again and again.
