Went on a weekend expect a wait! The food came out fast and the broth is good and flavorful!! Spring rolls weren't a favorite but the pho was really good.

Chicken pho with all the trimmings.

One of the best phos in town. Came here because I had a craving. I was seated right away. I ordered the shrimp rolls and a small chicken pho. The small is really a medium bowl and it was delicious. I also appreciated that the chicken was was shredded and already in the soup. For some reason other restaurants serve grilled chicken and I am not a fan of that. The spring rolls are nice and huge with a delicious peanut sauce to eat with it. The place is cozy and service is quick. Food came out right away. You won't be disappointed if you want a good bowl of tasty pho.

Came in on New Year's Day with a party of 7 (including 2 babies) at around 1 PM. Thankfully, my friend was able to make a reservation because the place is very small. I do appreciate that they were able to hold the table for us, even though we were running 15 minutes late. However, this wasn't the best Vietnamese food. It was more like a fusion spot. The best thing we ordered were the garlic fries. Yes, you heard right - garlic fries at a Vietnamese restaurant. But who am I to complain - they were the battered kind and came out perfectly crispy and garlicky. For my main, I had the vermicelli bowl with spring rolls. The spring rolls are the lazy spring rolls where they don't use rice paper, but just use spring roll paper. Instead of a bowl, the noodles are served in a cold chunk. And instead of a bed of crisp lettuce/cucumber, it's a side salad with a mystery mayo-based dressing. Hubby had the beef with rice dish, which came with the same side salad, and instead of grilled beef, it was more like a bulgogi. We also tried the pork banh mi, which was just fine but again, not really grilled like real Vietnamese grilled pork. I might come back for an order of fries, but that's probably about it.

Hands down, my favorite pho place in the world! Pho Che is Korean-owned, and, boy, do they know how to make a good bowl of soup! We came here to grab a later lunch and ordered the Spicy (aka, S1), which usually comes with rare steak, brisket, tendon and shrimp - we opted out of the tendon, and had shrimp served on the side. The broth was so flavorful, and this place does not joke around when it comes to spiciness - this was something I was looking for for a while - one of those 'hit-the-back-of-your-throat' heat, but still flavorful. Such a good meal for those who are craving for something hot or when you're feeling slightly under the weather. Loved the perfectly cooked shrimp that was juicy and yummy. Service is kind and friendly! Can't wait to make this a part of our regular dining rotations when we're in the area. +delicious Spicy pho +friendly service +clean restrooms

This was the first time I've ever seen a spicy pho on a pho restaurant menu and had to give it a try. I enjoy spicy food but the spice level was a little too much for me. I could feel my insides burning the entire meal but it was still tasty. Generous portions of meat and the couple pieces of shrimp it came with were so flavorful. I noticed a lot of tables ordered the garlic fries and I'm curious of how their non spicy pho tastes so I'll definitely be a returning customer.

Huge portions. Get ready to wait to be seated as they are always packed. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Would definitely come back.

This place is simply delicious. We came by to pick up on a Sunday afternoon around 4-5pm and even at this time, the place was busy. Restaurant was packed with guests and to-go orders. Food delivery and more, one after the other. We ordered two large phos, a Thai iced tea, and the provenzal fries. The Thai iced tea, while $6, is basically a large. The fries, while closing in closer to $10, portion size is pretty big and satiable. I can see why this place is popping. The pho was so tasty and the large portion size is decent, if not, huge. Looking forward to ordering again in the future!

Pork bahn mi #22

We stopped in for lunch and there was a crowd, but the tables moved quickly. We ordered the fries provenzal, pork bahn mi, and a small rare steak & tendon. The food overall tasted good. The fries were a good amount and had plenty of garlic on them. The pork bahn mi could've used more meat, but it was still good. Also, the small steak & tendon is plenty of food for its size, so keep that in mind when you're deciding between the small and large bowl. The service was a disaster when it came to ordering because we were waiting and waiting and waiting and that's the only reason we are giving this place a 3 instead of a 4.

Keepin it real out here in Bayside Visited this spot years ago and been meaning to go back. It's got that fusion thing going from what i remember. Got the signature banh mi to go this time and was pretty fire. Got all the solid ingredients and overall very fresh and flavorful. Will def go back

I got the combo pho and my wife got the spicy one. I also ordered a green milk tea boba. Boba and food was decent. I was excited since the yelp page said Korean Vietnamese. I expected more of a fusion. It just reminded me of any typical Vietnamese restaurant.

This gem has been my GO-TOO spot for YEARS. I absolutely love this place. SJ is the best server, he's super friendly, he's quick and just a great person! Thank you for always making the experience better SJ. The food is always a 10/10. Pho broth is always flavorful, establishment is always clean and tables are usually always readily available. The ambiance is a cute little pop & mom location, but it just feels like home in there. The spring rolls and gyozas are always fresh, tasty and hot. You can't go wrong with a Soju or Crisp Beer on Tap! Pho Che won't disappoint. I don't believe I've ever had a bad experience here. It's definitely a HIGHLY recommend, check them out!

Great pho option in our neighborhood! They give a small discount with cash purchase. Delicious Pho, spring roll noodle with meat option, and great BBQ sandwiches. Small parking space in the face of the restaurant.

The pho was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly balanced -- definitely some of the best pho I've had. Mekong at the end of the strip closed a while ago, so a new Vietnamese place fits right in. They spent a good amount for the interior décor in light wood tones and it looks nice. With all the new and popular businesses in this HMart strip mall, the parking situation in this lot is cutthroat with everybody jockeying to get a space at all hours, but even worse at meal times. For new Vietnamese restaurants, I always have to compare their biggest beef pho bowl, the Locomotive 火車頭. Why it's called that, I'm not sure, but most places call it that. The broth comes hot and flavorful with plenty of Brisket, Tripe, Tendon & Eye Round slices and though not the biggest or best, but pretty decent. Garnish with plenty of bean sprouts, basil and jalapeño slices while the broth is hot. The thin rice noodles are just the right consistency, too. I like to mix a dipping sauce for the beef with the hot sauce & hoisin sauce on the table. My son goes for the Grilled Pork w/ Vermicelli Blankets because not all Vietnamese restaurants have it on their menus. He likes to wrap the grilled sliced marinated pork in the vermicelli blankets and dip them in the fish sauce. It also comes on a bed of greens. My wife had ordered the Grilled Beef on Rice Vermicelli, which is sliced, but what she really wanted was the Marinated Cubed Beef and that comes over rice. To round out the meal, we also had a plate of Stir-fried Baby Bok Choy and it was really tasty with plenty of sliced garlic. So next time we'll have to try again, but we'll order a la carte family style. I want to try the Grilled Lemongrass Pork Chops, Salt & Pepper Squid, Stir-fried Water Spinach and maybe throw in some Shrimp Summer Rolls and Fried Spring Rolls. Apparently, this Pho Grand also has a separate buffet takeout counter that you can select 4 dishes over rice & a soup for a flat rate, which is great for a grab & go lunch.

This place feels like a hidden gem you almost want to keep secret... but it's just too good not to share. What makes Pho Metro stand out right away is how authentic it feels. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. One guy runs the show and somehow manages to do it all, from cooking to serving, and the care he puts into the food absolutely shows in every single bite. It has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel like you've stepped into a small family kitchen rather than just another restaurant. The food itself is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the herbs to the broth. I highly recommend the thin noodles with the spicy lemongrass broth (you can request this if it's not listed). It's bursting with flavor, slightly tangy, perfectly spicy, and deeply savory in a way that warms you from the inside out. Every spoonful feels like a cozy blanket on a cold day. The summer rolls are another must-order. They're fresh, light, and packed with flavor, and the peanut sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. It's rich, savory, and addictive enough that you'll find yourself scraping the cup to get every last drop. Another detail I really appreciated is how everything you need is right at your fingertips. All the sauces are readily available at the table, so you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it without having to ask or wait. It makes the whole experience feel easy, comfortable, and welcoming. And don't skip the Thai iced tea. It's perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing, especially alongside the bold flavors of the pho. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Overall, this place delivers on flavor, authenticity, and heart. It's rare to find a spot where you can truly taste the effort and pride in every dish, but Pho Metro does exactly that. I will absolutely be returning again and again. If you're in the area, make the stop. You won't be disappointed.

It's a small place with around six tables and three staff members (two in the kitchen and one taking orders, serving, bussing, and cleaning). Not the most glamorous vision of a restaurant, right? But the food is tasty! We had the summer rolls, peppered calamari, the signature pho, and the beef short-rib pho. The summer rolls and calamari were good, you could taste the freshness of the veggies and shrimp. I wish the calamari had been a bit crispier and seasoned with a touch more salt and pepper, but it was still very good. The real reason I'll be coming back is the pho broth. Some people might describe it as slightly sweet, but to me, it had a rich, balanced flavor. I'm not sure if the short rib is available all the time (it does have a lot of fat, as beef short rib often does), but it was flavorful. Definitely coming back to try more.

The gaibi was dry and hard to eat on the bone even though they provided gloves and a knife. The pork chop as a side was $15 for 2 pieces and also on the dryer side. It was seasoned well but I really wished it was juicier. My favorite part of the meal was the smoky beef bun cha platter. The beef was thinly sliced and tasted sweet like bulgogi. The noodles were served with a cold dipping sauce, which contains fish sauce. I enjoyed the noodles but wished they were easier to separate. Lastly, the spicy intestine pho was my least favorite. I personally do not like small intestines so it was not the dish for me. The soup was not very spicy and tasted like the offals. Also its surprising because every time I go the place is pretty packed and occasionally there is a wait. What's also a shame, for me, is that on my recent visit my friend ordered the Steamed Seafood in Lemongrass and this is perhaps the top, or one of the top dishes on the menu. The seafood flavors and balances the slightly spicy lemongrass broth making this a crave worthy bowl. I ordered something out of my wheelhouse - the Coconut Spicy Lemongrass Soup, which on online order menu states its a popular dish. I couldn't see why this dish is so popular because I find other items on the menu superior. They make a tasty pho (especially when paired with a marrow bone). Their sandwiches are well made - I enjoy the different fish ones. I think their Vietnamese coffee could use some work - it is blander than other versions I had tried. Don't be too sad and maybe feel a little optimistic because owner Petra Rickman has a great track record opening interesting, in demand restaurants (This one and Taco Azul have been longtime go-tos in Whitestone). Additionally G&L has a 2nd location with the same menu in Manhattan, which unfortunately for a Queens boy like myself is a bridge too far and a congestion pricing too high for me to make the trek.
