B3. Grilled Pork on Rice Vermicelli

Super popular spot with lots of parties but quick service - the food comes out quickly, so you can come hungry! The Grilled Pork was super flavorful and the portion of meat in the vermicelli bowl was quite generous.

Parking can get tricky around Pho Grant Bayside as it is on Bell blvd. The spring rolls and pho are worth it! This was our first stop after a 7 hour road trip home from VT. Comforting bowl of warm pho with a crispy bite of spring roll, cooked to perfection. Service is average, but the food is great!

Delicious! Okay! So this was my first time here but my fiancé is a regular here with her coworkers! The pho here is amazing! My fiancé has their sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I have had in quite a while!! Will absolutely be back!!

Tried the grilled pork with vermicelli today. It was good, vermicelli noodles were overcooked a bit so the noodles were falling apart. I wish it topped with a spring roll and minus the pickled onions. Pickled radish was a good touch, that I enjoyed. Overall was okay. Want to try their banh mi next!

Great corner spot on Bell Blvd for some local affordable yummy pho! Staff is friendly and wait wasn't too bad. Parking could be a-little tough if you go during prime time. Started off with shrimp some summer rolls before we each ordered our pho. The warm broth with the hoisin and hot sauces hits the spot if you go on a cold day!

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants we've been to in all Queens. We used to think you could get authentic Vietnamese only in Flushing or Elmhurst. But Pho Grand holds its own against them all. Plus it has a more spacious and relaxed dining room than most. We're big fans of their sandwiches and Tom Yum soups. The grilled meat dishes are especially flavorful. And the portions are generous. No need to say more

I haven't had pho in a long time and felt like a bowl on a cold afternoon. We noticed this pho place when we were going to the French Workshop, a great French bakery. Outside it looked small but inside was larger than it looked. We were worried that it might be crowded but we were seated right away. The waitress gave us menus and asked if we wanted cold water or hot tea. On a day like this definitely a hot tea. It came out in tall plastic cup which is a little weird. After looking through the menu, I ordered the number 3, which was beef brisket, tripe, and tendon. My daughter had the flank steak pho. My husband ordered the grilled steak over rice. My bowl of pho was salty but flavorful. The rice noodles were plentiful. The brisket was a little chewy. The tendons were perfect. We left very satisfied.

Pho Grand satisfied my craving for some hot pho on a cold fall night. Their phos have a good portion of meat/tendons as well--my friend couldn't even finish all of hers. Their calamari is different than any type I've seen, but the texture is still good. Service is pretty standard. Nothing over the top. It can be difficult to call someone over when you need something though.

First time dining in on a Friday evening and it was pretty busy with diners and take away orders. I enjoyed the crispy spring rolls and my fiancés pork chop over rice was good! I would get both again. I did not love the pho with brisket, tendon and tripe. The brisket was overcooked and the broth could've been better. I would come back to try other rice dishes, maybe the vermicelli bowls as well.

Life is Short. F.... It up! Family, Flavor, Friends Was in NYC during the weekend was looking for a place for dinner and ended up over here. We ordered the fried egg rolls wrapped in lettuce leaves dipped with fish sauce very savory. This was the first time that I've ever had tried this app but the balance of the lettuce and the fish sauce perfect and crunchy of the spring roll. Then I got the traditional pho with the eye brown tendons, tripe, and everything. The first thing you try when you get pho is tasting the soup before adding anything. Every full place has their own twist on the soup. This place was a little less traditional, but more of a beef flavor soup sort of like a hybrid between Lango beef noodle and traditional Viet pho very good job. If you're over if you're ever in Bayside and you're craving some pho definitely check this place out

I walked in as a party of 2 on a Monday around 4:30pm. We were seated immediately, but the restaurant was full. We enjoyed the espresso, big bowl of pho, chicken pho, and sautéed string beans. The pho broth was rich and clean with large servings at a great price. We were impressed by the amount of meat and toppings in the pho. The string beans were sautéed perfectly. The staff was kind and served the food quickly. I will be sure to return soon.

I came here mainly for the pho. The pho was great, the broth was flavorful. The restaurant is very cozy with lots of tables and seats. Service was quick and friendly. Their pork chop did not disappoint either.

Worst banh mi sandwich I ever had. I ordered the Chicken. It was like the chef took a rotisserie chicken pulled off the left overs on the bone and threw it on the sandwich. The amount of fat and bones on this sandwich. Puke!

I can't believe I never wrote a review for Pho Che after dining here multiple times over the years…read more I have been a huge fan of their pho broth and their grilled pork chops. They are both always seasoned very well and make a delicious meal. However, the price seems to have increased tremendously for the side of pork chop (almost doubled since they first opened). We opted to try their spicy pho and BBQ pork banh mi on a Saturday. The entire restaurant was packed with plenty of diners waiting for a table. Our food came out quickly and we were able to share our pho with an extra bowl. The spicy broth was indeed spicy and pretty flavorful. There was plenty of meat and aromatics to accompany the dish. I really enjoyed the dish but towards the end, it was just a bit too spicy. The large bowl also had plenty of noodles for two people. The bbq pork banh mi was not as great as other shops that specialize in freshly made banh mi. The pork was seasoned well but the sandwich felt a bit bare and lacking. Half the time they don't even offer it and when they do, it's either really really good or sometimes it leaves you wondering where's the rest of the filling?! The summer rolls and calamari were good, you could taste the freshness of the veggies and shrimp. I wish the calamari had been a bit crispier and seasoned with a touch more salt and pepper, but it was still very good. The real reason I'll be coming back is the pho broth. Some people might describe it as slightly sweet, but to me, it had a rich, balanced flavor. I'm not sure if the short rib is available all the time (it does have a lot of fat, as beef short rib often does), but it was flavorful. Definitely coming back to try more.

The gaibi was dry and hard to eat on the bone even though they provided gloves and a knife. The pork chop as a side was $15 for 2 pieces and also on the dryer side. It was seasoned well but I really wished it was juicier. My favorite part of the meal was the smoky beef bun cha platter. The beef was thinly sliced and tasted sweet like bulgogi. The noodles were served with a cold dipping sauce, which contains fish sauce. I enjoyed the noodles but wished they were easier to separate. Lastly, the spicy intestine pho was my least favorite. I personally do not like small intestines so it was not the dish for me. The soup was not very spicy and tasted like the offals. With all the new and popular businesses in this HMart strip mall, the parking situation in this lot is cutthroat with everybody jockeying to get a space at all hours, but even worse at meal times. For new Vietnamese restaurants, I always have to compare their biggest beef pho bowl, the Locomotive 火車頭. Why it's called that, I'm not sure, but most places call it that. The broth comes hot and flavorful with plenty of Brisket, Tripe, Tendon & Eye Round slices and though not the biggest or best, but pretty decent. Garnish with plenty of bean sprouts, basil and jalapeño slices while the broth is hot. The thin rice noodles are just the right consistency, too. I like to mix a dipping sauce for the beef with the hot sauce & hoisin sauce on the table. My son goes for the Grilled Pork w/ Vermicelli Blankets because not all Vietnamese restaurants have it on their menus. He likes to wrap the grilled sliced marinated pork in the vermicelli blankets and dip them in the fish sauce. It also comes on a bed of greens. My wife had ordered the Grilled Beef on Rice Vermicelli, which is sliced, but what she really wanted was the Marinated Cubed Beef and that comes over rice. To round out the meal, we also had a plate of Stir-fried Baby Bok Choy and it was really tasty with plenty of sliced garlic. So next time we'll have to try again, but we'll order a la carte family style. I want to try the Grilled Lemongrass Pork Chops, Salt & Pepper Squid, Stir-fried Water Spinach and maybe throw in some Shrimp Summer Rolls and Fried Spring Rolls. Apparently, this Pho Grand also has a separate buffet takeout counter that you can select 4 dishes over rice & a soup for a flat rate, which is great for a grab & go lunch.

Also its surprising because every time I go the place is pretty packed and occasionally there is a wait. What's also a shame, for me, is that on my recent visit my friend ordered the Steamed Seafood in Lemongrass and this is perhaps the top, or one of the top dishes on the menu. The seafood flavors and balances the slightly spicy lemongrass broth making this a crave worthy bowl. I ordered something out of my wheelhouse - the Coconut Spicy Lemongrass Soup, which on online order menu states its a popular dish. I couldn't see why this dish is so popular because I find other items on the menu superior. They make a tasty pho (especially when paired with a marrow bone). Their sandwiches are well made - I enjoy the different fish ones. I think their Vietnamese coffee could use some work - it is blander than other versions I had tried. Don't be too sad and maybe feel a little optimistic because owner Petra Rickman has a great track record opening interesting, in demand restaurants (This one and Taco Azul have been longtime go-tos in Whitestone). Additionally G&L has a 2nd location with the same menu in Manhattan, which unfortunately for a Queens boy like myself is a bridge too far and a congestion pricing too high for me to make the trek.
