Formerly known as Thai Son, this spot has always been a favorite of mine since I used to live in the neighborhood. When I heard they reopened, I was excited to return to my old stomping ground and they did not disappoint. They've added a ton of new items to the menu, and everything tastes just as good as before, if not even more flavorful. It's comforting to see that the quality and flavors I loved are still there, with even more options to enjoy. If you're planning to drive, just a heads up that parking in the area can be very difficult. Otherwise, it's absolutely worth the visit, especially if you're a longtime fan or discovering it for the first time.

Very good Vietnamese food in the area! We shared the veggie fried spring rolls and beef cubes as appetizers. The spring rolls were solid, but the ground tofu inside had an interesting texture. Beef cubes were super tender and delicious, especially with the signature sauce. I got the #6 pho - with beef. It was super flavorful and broth was really good. Would come back!

Hmmm. Been coming here since it was Thai Son. They were closed for a while for "renovation" so it was exciting for me to find out that they had reopened. The pho is still solid. But felt like the soup wasn't hot enough. Got the meat ball special this time, served with rice paper. DELICIOUS. I would rank this place in the upper echelon of Viet food in NYC. Almost comparable to the weat coast

Apparently this place recently reopened under a new name after a fire burned down the old spot. I came here for dinner and was seated within five minutes, which was impressively quick. Service throughout was attentive and fast. I started with the fried spring rolls. They were decent, though the filling wasn't as meaty or flavorful as I prefer. For my main dish, I ordered the pork chop with rice. The rice was well cooked with a nice texture, but the pork chop came out a bit too charred for me. The beef noodle soup, on the other hand, was pretty flavorful. The prices are fair, and the portions are generous. I'd come back to try their bánh mì, phở, and other Vietnamese staples.

Saw it was opened again but under a new name. Been missing my pho and rice dishes. We came here for dinner and we were happy again. Got the beef cube over fried rice and #1 across the table. The food is still great. Pho was good as I remembered and the beef cubes over fried rice was tasty and saucy the way I like it. The spring rolls were great too. The staff seems new but one of the old waiters recognized me and we talked it up. The new staff are very nice and the food came out quick. The changes we noticed were the new painted walls. The tables were the same and the set up was the same. Thank god it's opened again. Now I don't have to go all the way to pho bang now. Not saying it's bad but this place is closer to my house.

This restaurant never disappoints. We order the small pho, an order of summer rolls and rice crepes with ground pork. The food came all out at the same time, the pho is problem kne of the best in the area. You can tell they take time to make the broth, very well seasoned, clear broth. The slices of beef are thin but just perfect for the hot broth to slightly cook the beef. The summer rola come with a peanut sauce that is nust perfect with a savory flavor and sufficient consistency to dip the rolls and the sauce cljngs on to the rice wrapper. The servers are very quick to take the order, expedite and serve fast. The rice crepes stuffed with ground pork were very good, light but savory dish if you are not very hungry. Overall a great experience. Parking was extremely difficult, i had to leave my car over at woodside avenue about 3 blicks away because of the construction they are doing nearby the restaurant.

Had dined at Thai Son before when we went to Elmhurst and wanted authentic Vietnamese. This place still looks exactly the same, only the name has changed. The floor is still slippery The food is still quite good, and filling.

Huong Xuan used to be Thai Son, but they recently reopened under a new name after a short absence. I am happy to see them back in business serving up the same delicious dishes. Their pho is great overall (the beef options are the way to go, as I found the pho ga to be somewhat bland). They also have really tasty spring rolls. My only minor critique is that I did bite down on a small piece of bone in one of my spring rolls last time, and some of their grilled meats have some pieces of bone and cartilage, but that doesn't bother me since I know to look out for them (unlike when they're in a spring roll). The staff members are all so kind and attentive, and the restaurant has a very cozy and comfortable vibe. I definitely recommend it!

A no frills Vietnamese spot serving delicious pho and other authentic dishes. We came for lunch and were greeted by friendly staff. The inside is cute and has plenty of seats. My wife had the pho with grilled chicken and I had the Thịt Kho Tàu with rice. We also shared an order of crispy spring rolls. Everything was yummy and hit the spot.

Ate here today after work as a paraprofessional at P.S. 12 Q for dinner feeling quite hungry and wondering what to eat. I had dined in by myself to order and eat which I got the ca kho to (caramelized fish) and it was absolutely delicious. I remember this place used to be Thai Son and it recently got renamed. Anyways, the service there was also attentive and it took awhile to be served on my table and thanks for the sever named Loby to get me started of what to choose and eat and tells me briefly it recently reopened around last week. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

Was in Jackson heights and had to swing into this spot, I guess they changed the name from Thái Son but the interior felt exactly the same and the food was as delicious as I remember having 10+ years ago. The service is quick, funny, and friendly. Just an absolute staple, wish the luck with the rebrand.

This place used to be called Thai Son. They finally opened up after there was a fire. Nothing seemed to have changed from the bathrooms to the actual dining in section. I guess the only thing that changed was the name as even the staff remained the same. Even the food was how I remembered it to all be. However, the prices changed to a couple of dollars more now.

Thai Son is back! just that it is under a new name that I can not pronounce: Huong Xuan. Nothing changed, decor is still the same except maybe the walls were repainted. Pho is still just as good. The broth was very clean. I love their grilled porkchops. Service was quick and waiters were all so nice. Came on Saturday at 6:30pm and did not have to wait for a table for 4 but I noticed it started getting packed by 7pm.

It started as soon as we walked into the restaurant; there was an unfortunate water leak dripping down from the ceiling, right by the entrance. The staff put a bucket below a huge water bubble that had formed in the ceiling, to catch the drips... but you had to walk around it to get into the restaurant. Kind of weird that the staff didn't think of getting from a hardware store, one of those tarps that catches ceiling leaks and diverts the water thru a hose to a bucket... that isn't in the way of customers entering the restaurant. Anyway, we sat down, and ordered an old favorite dish, and decided to try a new one. The old favorite is the House-made Fish Cake Pho (Pho Cha Ca)! The kitchen staff hand makes the fish paste from scratch, with some kind of super addictive & flavorful spices, and I've really enjoyed it in the past. We also decided to try the Shaking Beef Rice (Com Bo Lac Lac) for the first time. Unfortunately, both dishes were disappointing. The fish cake in the pho looked and tasted like typical frozen type you can get at any Asian market... and was confirmed when we asked the staff. Where's my ATF fish cake?!? The beef cubes in the rice dish were (a) super overcooked (like beef jerky level chewy) and (b) the sauce was way, way too salty. We also noticed the restaurant manager, Ngan, wasn't working that night. Perhaps all these problems happened because she was away on holiday? And Pho99 will be back to its usual spectacular food after she returns?

From different regions. Some had proteins like chicken feet, pork, chicken. One was fish but only saw a few pcs of halved fishballs. The peanut curry was slightly sweet and was just the sauce. One was very spicy so just took the veggies and meat. Instructions were finally posted on how to put together the curries with the noodles and toppings, which were set up on the table as well. It was a good tasting. Service was good. Preferred cash payment but accepted credit cards with added 3% fee. Decor was bright with colorful flowers hanging from ceiling etc. Space is not that big. Restroom available. Some street cleaning parking and the rest were metered along Whitney Ave.

The Hainanese chicken could use a touch more seasoning, and the dipping sauce leans a bit too sweet for my taste, but the chicken itself is consistently cooked to perfection: tender, silky, and satisfying. The beef satay is another highlight, well-executed and flavorful. The Singapore rice noodles could use some refinement. They're properly seasoned, but lack anything distinctive to set them apart. The beef chow fun, on the other hand, is done well, the noodles hold their texture without breaking apart, and there's a nice portion of beef. This place feels like a hidden gem you almost want to keep secret... but it's just too good not to share. What makes Pho Metro stand out right away is how authentic it feels. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. One guy runs the show and somehow manages to do it all, from cooking to serving, and the care he puts into the food absolutely shows in every single bite. It has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel like you've stepped into a small family kitchen rather than just another restaurant. The food itself is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the herbs to the broth. I highly recommend the thin noodles with the spicy lemongrass broth (you can request this if it's not listed). It's bursting with flavor, slightly tangy, perfectly spicy, and deeply savory in a way that warms you from the inside out. Every spoonful feels like a cozy blanket on a cold day. The summer rolls are another must-order. They're fresh, light, and packed with flavor, and the peanut sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. It's rich, savory, and addictive enough that you'll find yourself scraping the cup to get every last drop. Another detail I really appreciated is how everything you need is right at your fingertips. All the sauces are readily available at the table, so you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it without having to ask or wait.
