The Scarlet Vetter says.....while in Queens New York City for business I decided to Uber Eats food rather than go out and about from my hotel. I was in the mood for Thai so I placed an order at this restaurant. I ordered chives pancakes, steamed vegetable dumplings, green chicken curry, and thin noodles with traditional Thai iced tea. The noodles were dreamy and the iced tea refreshing. The chive pancakes were perfectly cooked and fragrant. I had zero complaints about the rest of the order. I would have given this four 0stars but no utensils were included necessitating a trip down to the lobby of my hotel to locate some after I discovered the omission while unpacking the order in my room.

The server/ owner was very good to me! She was warm and friendly the food was so good. Did tell the owner the soup was salty. She did tell the cook. The ambiance is dark. If you add color it will give the appearance of the restaurant being larger.

I've been wanting to visit this place for a while. I'm so glad I finally came. I do wish they had a happy hour, I think it would attract more people because the food is amazing! The service is also very good, like most Thai restaurants. I also wish they had the Thai spices on the side to add to your dish. They still get 5 stars from me.

Beautiful cozy dining space. Unique decor is a must see! Quick friendly service and generous portions. Love the Shrimp Pad Thai, had to order another! Also enjoyed the Green Curry Chicken, Papaya Salad and Crispy Pork with Chinese Broccoli. Perfect with Thai Iced Tea. Recommended!

We're regulars at Black Thai, whether for takeout or dining in. Last time, we enjoyed a lovely meal with my mama and husbancito. The Black Thai salad was fresh and vibrant, just the right balance of spicy and tangy. We also had the shrimp fried rice, which always hits the spot. And you can't go wrong with the red curry with chicken. Nor can I forget the chicken fried rice - it's comfort food with a kick. The cozy ambiance and attentive service adds to the experience, making it perfect for a family dinner. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to!

Delicious meal. Date night vibes. Great for the whole family. I believe the ambience says it all Dark, seductive, intimate. It's got tasty variety in all aspects, vegan, meat heavy, and noodlely. I love it!

I ordered from Black Thai on Thanksgiving, as my dinner plans fell through. I was happy to see that they were open on the holiday! The food was delivered in a reasonable timeframe, which I really appreciated. I ordered the Massaman curry with chicken and requested for it to be spicy. The spicy level was great, but the curry itself was a bit lackluster. It didn't have that creamy curry consistency that I usually enjoy. The drunken noodle was delicious and had just the right flavor. The portion was also pretty generous. I forgot to take a picture, but I also got the Thai iced tea, which was really refreshing and complemented the spicy curry. I think there is better Thai food out there, but if you're looking for some noodles, this is a great delivery option.

Ate here today before work for lunch by myself. I had brought and ate the crab rangoon and spicy fried rice with crispy pork. It was pretty good and delicious. The service there was also friendly, and attentive that I didn't feel rushed about what to choose something to try for the first time. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

For appetizers we had the chive pancakes which were good, the chicken curry puffs were also good although not very meaty, and the chicken lettuce wraps were tasty but a bit too salty and they only gave 3 decent size pieces of lettuce, the rest were the inner pieces which is just too tiny. For dinner we had the crispy pork with drunken noodles, noodles a tad too sweet but good overall, my husband enjoyed his duck noodle soup, and red curry with chicken was average. Not my favorite, as it's something we get at every Thai restaurant. It wasn't bad just lacked depth and flavor, and wish it had wide bamboo shoots instead of matchstick. Thai iced tea was also good. Overall a decent meal, service was good, our waitress was friendly. I wouldn't make a special trip, parking was awful, but if in the area I would potentially return.

Great Thai food and decor. I enjoyed my pad see eww and a thai iced tea. The Thai iced tea is on the sweeter side but full of tea flavor.

The soup comes with the lunch special. It is vegetable broth but too salty for me, I had to add some water to dilute it.

Always one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the neighborhood, though sometimes their food is a little bit too salty, but overall the food is really good! However, the service needs to be improved. I came on a Saturday. The waitress was very friendly and polite. I went again today (a Thursday), it was already a few weeks later, a different waitress in glasses was there but she was not friendly and she was rude. I went there alone both times, and it was not rush hour. On that Saturday, I chose to sit at a 4-seat table near the register. The friendly waitress didn't stop me because it was not busy and there were many empty tables. While today when I went, it was not busy as well (after 2:30PM), I again chose to sit at a 4-seat table. The waitress in glasses was not happy and she made sure I came alone and asked me to sit at a 2-seat table. If it is busy, sure I will sit at a less seat table. Why can't I choose where to sit? And I saw the way she served the other customers, she was rude and unprofessional! The people at the other table wanted to place another order to go, and she thought they wanted the check. So she got them the check instead. Then one of the ladies told her that they actually wanted to order a new dish to go. Those people are not fluent in English, and this waitress was blaming them for not making it clear enough and she was saying they were confusing her. I was like, "Seriously? What kind of service is that??" Honestly, she just hates her job. I hope the management can look into the matter. The food is undoubtedly incredible, but the quality of service depends on who is on duty.. if the management doesn't train their staff well, it's not going to make good business.

SO GOOD!!! Fresh ingredients used for their dishes. Cozy environment and excellent service. Family business owned as far as I can see...the food is really good and the prices are reasonable.

    Is there parking?

Only street parking. Might depend on the time of day, but the weekends are really tough. You might be spending anywhere from 15-30 mins looking for a space. Weeknights are a little (very little) better.

They definitely didn't tell me that lunch specials were available before I ordered my soup. Other than that, everyone is pleasant. Space: they have two sides, so plenty of space, but nights and weekends can get pretty packed, so keep that in mind. Food: I ordered Tom Yum soup and a lunch drunken noodle with a Thai iced tea. I only had the soup there and took the entire lunch special to go. Just based off of the soup, I will be going back. It was delicious and PACKED to the MAX! Writing this now, I can still imagine. Drunken Noodles were also really tasty. I like mine spicy and it could have been made spicier, but that's not even a real complaint. Also- the one next to me had this dish which reminded me of pad see ew but in a gravy. Looked delicious!! I will be back for whatever she had. Overall: the entire block is like a little Thai street. There are lots of Thai food options and I finally made it to Ayada. Super happy with my meal and excited to go back with some people and enjoy.

It's not in Manhattan, but I'm telling you -- it's worth the trip. It's located right next to Little Thailand and easy to find with Google Maps. One downside is that the space is very small. They only have four small tables for two and one larger table for 3-4 people, so it might be difficult for bigger groups unless you make a reservation. We arrived right after they opened, and not long after, the whole place was packed. Besides the size, the restaurant is really pretty and cozy. The menu is interesting and offers a wide variety of dishes -- fried, stir-fried, grilled, soups, and more. Here's what we ordered: Crab Fried Rice - We ordered it without much thought, just to try it, and it ended up being one of the best Thai dishes we've ever had. Even my husband (who is Laos/Thai) loved it. He rarely gets to eat crab because his mom has a severe allergy, so this was special for him too. (We forgot take picture lol) Crispy Pork Belly - Served super hot and crispy. I love that they battered it instead of just deep-frying it plain. It had great texture and was so flavorful. Tum Thai (Thum Mak Hoong) - We ordered it very spicy and asked if they could make it Laos-style. They tried, and it was pretty good. It was slightly lacking the strong fermented fish sauce (padek) punch that gives it that bold, pungent flavor. But honestly, it's still very close to Northern style -- just more approachable and less intense, so more people can enjoy it. Sticky Rice - Served the traditional way in a bamboo basket (aep khao) with a lid, which keeps it piping hot. I love when restaurants keep it authentic like that. We wanted to order more because there were so many options, but just three dishes were already enough for us -- we even had leftovers. They packed everything very securely; I carried the papaya salad around all day and it didn't spill at all. It is pretty pricey, but honestly, it's worth trying at least once for the quality and authenticity. We'll definitely bring his parents here next time we're back in NYC.
