Tried this place for the first time and honestly I'm impressed. I ordered the pad thai and the portion was great, not too oily and perfectly balanced with sweet and savory. The chicken satay was also really good and the peanut sauce tasted homemade. Service was friendly and the staff checked on us without being overbearing. The restaurant itself was clean and had a nice relaxed vibe. Prices were fair for the quality and portion sizes. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving Thai food. read more

Let's start off with Saturday night like yesterday I go to order the simplest meal possible. Pad Thai with wide noodles and tofu as a vegetarian and they literally give me chicken after I waited with an excruciating headache outside for nearly an hour in the cold rain. It's ridiculous cause I just called restaurant and they have to talk to owner to "find out if I can get a refund" I have the food uneaten from last night which is not going to be touched since it was made incorrectly not only did that upset me but I asked for extra milk in Thai iced tea and they could not even get that rught and mind you that was almost $25. Like no, you are NEVER getting my business and I'll tell all my friends around the neighborhood not to bother coming here if you expect correct food. That like totally ruined my night. That was supposed to be a quick pick up for tasty dinner but it ended up turning into a nightmare disaster and I better get my money back. Cause I am not going to be forced to pay for an incorrect order. Tell your boss that. read more

I visited this place for the first time and I fall in love with it. The interior is really nice with characteristics of Thailand tradition on the wall. The food feels very homely and authentic. Pineapple Duck Curry met my expectation. It was crispy and flavorful. Pad See Ew is delicious and Mango salad with Soft Shell Crab is sweet and tangy. Salmon with eggplants are delectable. We had a great lunch here! Started with the shrimp rolls -- crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked shrimp inside. For mains, I had the Basil Fried Rice with beef (so flavorful!), and we also shared the Drunken Noodles with boneless chicken -- the texture and flavor were spot on. My daughter ordered the Tamarind Duck with rice. I'm not usually into duck, but it was surprisingly good -- and she loved it! She also tried Thai milk tea for the first time and couldn't get enough. When she didn't finish it, the kind man helping us offered to put it in a to-go cup -- such a thoughtful gesture. The service was warm and welcoming from the second we walked in. Definitely a Thai spot I'd recommend, and we'll absolutely be back! read more

We ordered from this restaurant many times but never visited until recently. The place is beautifully decorated. We know we liked the delivery food a lot too, so it's worth dining in. The waitress, Blair, is from Thailand, so she can answer a lot of questions about Thai cuisine. We had chicken lettuce wrapped, which was Hubby's favorite dish. Also, we tried the shrimp with ginger-mushroom, and mussels. Everything was tasty! I've tried their pad prik khing and pad Thai from delivery orders and found their dishes to have the taste of Thai. Tom yam was excellent! So, if you crave for Thai food, stop in this cute little place and enjoy! read more

Formally the space occupied by Williamsburger (#1), Thai Tree has become part of the Thai-fecta of the suddenly saturated Thai scene in west Queens. I appreciate that Thai Tree is in this quiet part of LIC / Sunnyside, which has been a dead zone for restaurants for so long now. Talk about an upgrade on the interior: the decor is really impressive. The decorations are not what I would expect in a place like this. It's got enough space for groups and is even date appropriate. Shocking because there is not much else on this stretch of Greenpoint Ave. One of the best things about Thai Tree is how affordable they are. Most of the competition charges at least $1 more for various items. They have a super decent lunch special and add to that, fairly fast delivery. The service isn't so bad either, and when they're open for seating, the place can really fit a sizable number of people. Food wise, most of it is decent but I can't say it's better than the competition. I don't find many of their noodles or rice dishes all that memorable, especially compared to the other spots. Pad see yu is solid, especially with chicken. Pineapple fried rice is also solid and I love finishing it off with their signature Thai iced tea. In times like these, I would highly recommend takeout or delivery if at all possible. They're reliable and have the kind of affordable Thai fare that works well in a pinch. _____________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/williamsburger-long-island-city read more

I hate when restaurants substitute ingredients and don't inform you of the substitution. I have been ordering crab fried rice from here for at least a year. They always use lump crab meat. Today, they use crab leg meat. I'm a seafood foodie. Two totally different tastes. Crab leg meat is cheaper and the price of the meal was not adjusted for that cost difference. As a repeat customer, I get that we are having import issues with food in general, but I was not given the option of ordering something else. I called and spoke with mike, who made it seem like I was crazy for inquiring about the issue. I then asked for a manger John who was not present. All i want is the same crab rice I order a week ago. Or a choice not to take it with almost imitation crab meet and still be charged full price. Am I crazy ? read more

I'd give this place closer to a 4.0-4.2 overall rating. We do delivery occasionally because it's a bit far from where we live. Pretty good Thai food--and the food is consistently good. We go for the "basic" dishes, but have branched out with the appetizers. Thai Tree's website usually automatically add a 20% tip with no option to change it (this could change after this review) -- we usually tip 20% anyway, but the website should give customers an option to customize tip. read more

The food was delicious. I had the shrimp green curry and it was a treat. Delicately prepared with a spicey heat that lingered in a nice way. The soup that came with it was a delight. The service was pleasant and made a diner feel special. The waiter made a show out of pouring Diet Coke from a can into my glass, like a spectacular cocktail. They were so effusive in their thanks and farewell. The place is a hidden gem on the LIE side of Long Island City near LaGuardia community college. The place was nicely lit, and several people were having lunch there, which I took as a good sign for a Wednesday and for being so out of the way. I almost walked past it and I'm glad I went in. read more

I would scale 10/10 for their decorations, ambience, food, and their service. The only downside about this place and the only thing that disappointed me a bit js their chicken wings. Chicken wings looks great but it isn't as great as we can see on the picture. Taste is not to the point, and no flavor at all. . Besides wings, rest of the other items are amazing. They were all very delicious . A lady who took our order was super nice and her service is great as well. I will come back again :) read more

Mediocre thai food but their spice level is on point. There were too much veggies in the tom yum, taste was overwhelmingly of bell pepper. Papaya salad was okay. The pineapple fried rice & the pad see ew were the best out of them all. I'd recommend the entrees more than the appetizers & soups if you'd like to order from here. read more

I literally stopped eating to post this review. I ordered food togo through Postmates, and first thing one of my orders were missing (duck wrap). I received my credit through postmates, so that's taken care of. Anyways, as I was trying to enjoy my lunch I would randomly get cracking noises during my chews. I assumed that may have added something new like garlic crisps. Then it would keep happening. And then I found bigger egg shells. I'm just super disappointed. Like come on, take your time in cooking. If you saw or felt that the egg wasn't cracked right, don't just keep on cooking. Start freaking over! I think I'm so annoyed about my food that I'm ranting on this review. I would randomly order from this place before and food is alright. But definitely not ordering anymore. read more

First time ever trying Thai food, this restaurant caught my eye since i always pass by it on my way to work. Went with my mother and its a cute spot with a vibrant authentic atmosphere, we were immediately greeted and sat down, The appetizer were amazing. Went here for their lunch special, the place had one customer and 1 server, when we walked in, there was a very funky smell / odor lingering in the air, smelled a bit like mold or maybe a wet rag that was left to dry up. But since the weather was bad that day, we decided to stay, we ordered from their lunch special and I was actually pretty impressed with the taste, the pad ka pao wAs very tasty and so was the Tom yum .. the pad Thai for some reason was pink so it kinda looked weird but once you look past that, it tasted pretty good. I don't mind going back here again since it's in a very convenient location for me. read more

I'm bummed, but I've gotta give a negative review. I wish we had looked at Yelp before ordering. :( Our order was on time, hence the two stars. From there, it was just...not good. The textures and flavors were so off that we couldn't finish most dishes. Aside from the Thai iced tea and spring rolls, each dish was wonky... The Pad Thai was PINK, and it was sweet without the tang or depth. The Tom Kha Gai was very bland, and the vegetables were overcooked. It was like eating a bowl of warm milk with mushy veggies. Couldn't finish it. The Drunken Noodle was so spicy, it was inedible. And every vegetable was way, WAY overcooked. Everything that should be green (broccoli, peppers, green beans) was BROWN and MUSHY. The broccoli had no green left in it--all brown. Couldn't finish it. The ribs were very tough and chewy. I hope these negative reviews can spark some change! read more

Quality Thai food in the area has been lacking lately; it seems as though the old standbys have either gone way down hill, closed down, or changed quality. After trying pretty much every Thai restaurant in Sunnyside, Thai Tree is definitely the best choice for delivery now. The food always comes impressively quickly, their portions are huge, and the Pad Cashew Nuts with chicken is seriously unbelievable (as are the crispy duck rolls, ginger and mushroom, and drunken noodle). I haven't eaten at the restaurant yet, but am looking forward to soon. read more

Reason for the 1star is the customer service , came in today to get the lunch special and I was probably a minute late to catch the special and they still didn't let me get it and the short chick with the hat that served me was rude af . I ordered off seamless. The food arrived hot and on time but why is the pad Thai pink colored--never seen it in my life. The pad Thai i ordered with chicken and extra vegetables, it was kind of watery so none of the sauce stuck to the noodles when you serve it it got a little dry. I added my own chili flakes to add flavor then it was ok. Not the best I've had but not the worst. Could be improved for sure. The black shrimp roll things were ok the sauce it came with has no spice tasted like duck sauce sort of. The shrimp was slightly overcooked and some of the spring roll part was soggy and some crispy. Overall mediocre read more

This is my first review ever....but I couldn't not review because the food was upsettingly bad. I ordered food for delivery and it was by far the worst Thai food I've ever had in my life. I was not expecting 5-star quality by any means, just a typical delivery meal. Nope. Food was beyond bland and the ingredients were clearly not fresh at all. I couldn't even finish half the food, was not worth the money. I would imagine the food was cooked by someone who has never stepped food in another Thai restaurant, let alone Thailand. read more

I live right up the block from this place and finally got around to trying it! The pad Thai was okay, which was fine because I wasn't expecting anything gourmet. This place is a breath of fresh air. It has taken over the corner of Greenpoint and 37th st, the former home of Williamsburger which was god awful. Good riddance to them. I am so freaking happy that Thai Tree has arrived. First, we had no good thai delivery in the LIC/Sunnyside area, as Blue Orchid is terrible. This food is actually great, it's fresh and delicious, and the staff and owners care about their business. I am so happy that this is on the block I live! Their space is clean and updated and their delivery is fast. They also have amazing lunch prices! I ordered the Pad Kee Mao and some Spring Rolls which I loved. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her pad thai. Unfortunately there was a fire above this restaurant which just opened, and caused water damage to the ceilings and drywall and maybe some tables. I really hope that they return because we have needed a place like this for a long time, but a fire within the first month can be discouraging. Please come back, Thai Tree; you are a welcome addition to our neighborhood! read more

There is a reason for their horrible ratings. Tonight I ordered with DoorDash. Mind you the delivery service has its own problems and I addressed them with customer service . I just wanted to share my interaction with the staff at Thai tree tonight. I called because the restaurant confirmed my order at 7:04 and it's now 8:13. I called to ask if the food was ready and maybe there was a mistake in not notifying DoorDash driver through the app. I believe he thought I was the driver and told me the food was ready maybe 15-20 min ago. When he realized I was the customer he gave me an excuse, their busy. My food arrived at nearly 9pm. My spring rolls had been dipped in oil. Literally bag was saturated. I bit into the rolls with liquid oil filling my mouth. My fried rice was cold and didn't even look fresh and the ice in my Thai iced tea was melted. The driver had an insulated bag he pulled the food out of so that means the food was in the window under a heat lamp for too long. Restaurant 101 food will die in the window. read more
