I've been here twice, once for dining in and the second time I did take-out. For take-out, the waiter was nice. He let us wait at the bar and provided us with water. The food itself was yummy. My only gripe was that the beef in the pad Thai itself was burnt little. It did not taste that good. In my dine in experience, everything went well. The tom yum soup is spicy and is a lot to share for two people. The Thai tea cheesecake was okay, I feel like it wasn't special enough to reorder.

My boyfriend and I have been wanting to try this spot for a while now, luckily before we moved out of the area we got to try it. They have a great deal of martini Mondays! We sat at the bar and our server was very nice and friendly. We enjoyed the drinks, but the star of the show was the food. We had the empanadas which had curry chicken in them, I still think about this dish. My boyfriend got the Panang Pla and I had the Pad Krapow. We both left full and satisfied.

The food is very tasty and fresh. The Tom yum soup is light yet hearty, the salmon was cooked perfectly and the larvae fries were crispy and golden. The service from all staff was helpful and attentive. And the ambiance was calm and soothing while still being very welcoming. I look forward to going back to try more of their menu!

Cuisine: 4 Service: 6 Decor: 6 Value: 4 Overall: 4 Not sure what I'm missing since everyone seems to love this place, but this is not a good replacement for Arunee, which I enjoyed. I know they have family ties, but the food no longer resemble anything I am familiar with from the old regime. On top of that, there seems to be a strong emphasis on cocktails, which I heard were excellent, but not my thing. Also, the prices here are definitely higher than all the Thai restaurants nearby in Woodside or Elmhurst. Though pricier, I don't mind if I get a superior product. Unfortunately, my main problem with the restaurant is the food itself. You can tell right away from the menu that the cuisine here is not necessarily completely traditional. Dead giveaways are items like empanadas and avocado aioli dip. However, good is good, and some changes to me are welcomed if done properly. Anyway, two of us ordered Fish Fritters to start and found it very different than what we expected. Instead of fluffy fish cakes like everywhere else, it was more like a potato croquette with a hint of fish flavor inside. My friend said she did not taste any fish, but still liked it regardless. Paired with the avocado aioli dip, it actually was our favorite item from lunch. Nothing I must have again, but somewhat enjoyable. What was truly underwhelming for us was the two traditional entrees we shared. Their version of Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) was way too vinegary and lacked any other flavor. Where is the saltiness from soy, the spicy kick from chilis, or refreshing bitterness from the Thai holy basil? All basically missing, along with the wok hei. Similar issues with the Krapow, with the exception of more basil. More of an issue for me was the lack of a single Thai bird's eye chili when I asked for extra spicy, like in Thailand. Instead, we received a wetter version devoid of the intense flavors of what the dish should be. Maybe I'm being harsh and should try more dishes before making an assessment, which I often do by not reviewing restaurants until multiple visits. However, I just can't imagine the chef making other Thai dishes well after tasting the current offerings. Is the food edible? Sure! If you never had Thai food, will you enjoy it? Probably. However, enjoying good Thai cuisine in NYC and overseas for decades, I am unlikely to ever come back.

First timer here and was blown away with FLAVORS! The Espresso martini is so good! It is exactly as described, a cup of coffee with a blueberry muffin on the side. Absolutely delish! Moving on to the food. I love flavorful food and this is the place for that! Larb wings are not just a good spicy sauce but the wings are actually SEASONED. Calamari was cooked to perfection and the spicy aioli is good too. The mango salad is very fresh, nicely done, wanted more. The Khao Pad Poo is excellent. Didn't think much of lump crab and rice but the combo with the Thai chimichurri (secret sauce) is such a good combination. Crying Tiger, perfected skirt steak with the jeaw sauce, you will cry! Service is very good, your order is not just taken but they actually check on you and not in an overbearing way. Staff is friendly. Seems as if I timed weekend dinner just right because we sat down and there were only a few people and when I looked up again the place was nice filled with various diverse customers. I don't normally get excited about food but again I say FLAVORFUL and the ambiance is nice too. Not stuff very calm, neighborhood gem most definitely! Will be back for more.

Love this new restaurant! Its previous iteration, Arunee Thai, was a long-time mainstay in the neighborhood, and today I learned, it had been run by the parents of today's proprietors. I like that the next generation is carrying on the family business and putting their own modern twist and flavors on Thai food. We came in for a lunch date (Baht opens at 12pm) and ordered the chicken kee mao lunch special which came with a house salad. We also ordered the spring roll appetizer (3 medium-sized fried spring rolls), and I ordered the Salmon Pla (penang curry which was absolutely delicious). I enjoyed a Thai iced tea (made with oat milk and syrup) and requested that not a lot of syrup be made. All in all, I am so glad a Thai spot is back on 37th Avenue and thoroughly enjoyed the taste of my dishes. We will be back!

Baht is a welcomed new addition to 37th Avenue, serving creative cocktails and tasty food in a modern, hip environment. We came here for a late lunch and enjoyed happy hour nibbles and cocktails. We enjoyed it so much that we came back two weeks later for dinner. Both times we came to Bhat we were helped by their friendly staff, who are happy to talk you through the menu and make recommendations of their favorite items. For our happy hour visit we started with the Olieng, a signature cocktail which is their version of an espresso martini containing blueberry vodka. This inventive cocktail was not quite what I was expecting, since I didn't realize it contained blueberry vodka, which I don't particularly care for. After drinking it I switched to the Lychee martini which hit the spot and was able to strike the balance between refreshing with a hint of sweetness without being overwhelmingly sweet. We ordered the Satay, the Egg Rolls, and the empanada. The Satay was cooked and seasoned well and topped with a warm peanut sauce that was velvety and paired nicely with the spices on the chicken. The empanadas seemed to be their version of a curry puff, it was filled with potatoes and curried chicken and an avocado aioli on the side. These empanadas were fried perfectly without feeling greasy and the filling was flavorful and paired well with the aioli. The egg rolls, stuff with carrots, glass noodles, and cabbage and served with a plum sauce. These were fried to a golden perfection. And served hot. This dish is not an strongly flavored as the others but was a nice compliment to our table. Upon our return two weeks later, I enjoyed the Larb Wings and the Khao Moo Dang. The Larb wings were topped with a blend of sweet, sour, and spicy larb giving these wings a unique yet flavorful kick. The Khao Moo Dang is a dish comprised of roast pork with a velvet sauce, chinese broccoli, and jasmine rice. The pork in this dish is tender and flavorful. Enjoy a perfect bite with a little bit of each of the components on the dish. I highly recommend this dish as well as it is a great option for those less familiar with Thai food or for those who don't eat spicy food. One critique I have and I hope the owners or staff see is that when seated across from the bar, the TVs are distracting. Perhaps flipping the tables by 90 degrees would allow those at the tables to see the TVs with being so distracting.

I've been to Baht a few times now and I'm consistently delighted that it's come to the neighborhood. I tend to frequent lots of the Thai restaurants on Woodside Avenue (Little Thailand) where there's a high concentration of them, but it's also nice to have this Jackson Heights option with a fantastic happy hour. Initially reading about how Baht's drink menu was co-conceived with a Death & Co bartender is what made me want to visit, and indeed, we've now tried the entire cocktail list across our visits and have been impressed. They are all well-balanced, made with high quality ingredients, presented nicely, and provide much more sophisticated options than truly any of the other Thai restaurants in the area (sorry!). If you like sweet drinks, this is not the drinks menu for you, but if you're into cocktails, this is absolutely your jam. The Rupert is a coconutty drink unlike any of the gloopy cloying coconut drinks you may have had in the past and is instead light, refreshing, and interesting, and the Green Jacket is a tried and true that at least one of us has ordered every time we've come here. I'm not usually an espresso martini girlie but the Olieng is made really superb with their blueberry vodka (sounds weird, just try it!!). Remarkably, they offer happy hour on the weekends around lunchtime (genius) and all day on Tuesdays. I've had the empanadas a few times and they are fun, and what I am excited to order again and have been craving is Baht's crab fried rice, the Khao Pad Poo. Wow, the amount of lump crab on top and the great balance of flavors, accentuated by the nam jim sauce (they call it Thai chimichurri but IMO it's even more delicious than chimichurri) is making me hungry just writing this. The bartender who is usually working here is SUPER friendly, kind, and attentive and makes excellent drinks, and I have found the service to be exceptional. Bathroom is spacious and has beautiful penny floor tiles, and the space overall has a nice airy feel. There's a private room that seems fairly large and would be nice for a larger group, and I'm excited to return regularly here and continue re-ordering the Khao Pad Poo!

We recently ventured out to Jackson Heights to try this highly reviewed restaurant and it did not disappoint. It was later in the afternoon on a Sunday and the restaurant was pretty quiet. The space is ample and modern. We shared 1 small dish and 3 bigger ones between three of us. They were all flavorful and the portions were generous. This is a solid Thai spot and I'd definitely come back if I lived nearby. Service was friendly and attentive at all times.

Have been here three times in the past two weeks, and the food and drinks are so consistently good. I always get the Kee Mao, but I've had bites of pad Thai and See Eiw, all good! The empanadas are also very tasty, love the aioli they pair it with. My favorite drink is the Green Jacket and The Rupert. I can't wait to come by during one of their happy hours.

Ate here by myself for dinner trying this place out in my neighborhood. I had ordered, tried and brought the shumai as a starter, kao moo dang as an entree and mango sticky rice for dessert. The food there was good and not bad at all. The service there was also attentive and friendly that I didn't feel rushed about what to choose and eat for the first time. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

So glad to have this delicious spot in the neighborhood! Good Thai at a very reasonable price and in a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere. The dining area was still decorated for the holidays when I went and I was surprised to find it fairly empty around lunch on a weekend. The menu is not long and I wish for more veg options, but it's a great option for lunch takeout.

Considering the hectic 48hrs of non-stop traveling and celebrations, I would've been satisfied with a simple takeout meal to end the weekend but to my surprise, one of the best experiences of the trip was yet to come. Thankfully I was blessed with great friends to recommend this exceptional establishment known as Mitr Thai in Midtown Manhattan. Though the trip was centered around a wedding, my experience here instantly became the highlight of my trip to the City. One very genuine friend arranged this dinner, making a reservation for 3 for 7:30pm. To our surprise, we actually made it from Connecticut, walked from Grand Central and to Mitr Thai at 7:25pm even though they won't seat you until your entire party is there. After passing through the scaffolding, the restaurant has a two-door entry, one host after another, leading to a quaint but alluring lobby area. We were greeted by both hosts even though we were bogged down with luggage. The space was welcoming and had a sense of elegance as there was a blend of hardwood furnishings, low lighting and a heavy dose of Thai art/fixtures. For context: Labor Day Monday, at 7-8pm, there was a steady demand as the waiting bench remained full. There were even guests standing but even as more people came in, people were being seated at a consistent rate. Our 3rd friend arrived closer to 8pm and we were seated immediately. Our bags were placed in a small room behind the host podium and we were seated 20-30 meters from the door along the wall facing the bar. The menus were very comprehensive: large, descriptive and filled with graphics that left me wondering if I could try it all. I couldn't praise our server (Mindy) enough. She knew the kitchen, bar and any/all offerings like her own name. She had individual recommendations for each of us AND ADDITIONAL OPTIONS. I listened, ordered the Short Rib Prik Kang and indulged in a Verdant Whisper (Tequila, Cucumber, Lime). I'm not sure how but our food arrived less than 15mins later! The short rib looked good enough to make the entire restaurant jealous: the curry paste glistened in the light, the aroma called my name while the garnishes winked at me. To my disbelief, as good as it looked, it tasted even better! The sauce was robust, smooth, creamy & just spicy enough. Since the ribs slid off the bone, I mixed in the white mixed rice and ate it as a meal. I can proudly say I've never had anything like it. Oh yeah, the cocktail? Smooth, refreshing and relaxing. Worth every penny. I was elated with the overall experience and chose to pay for both of my friend's meals. My only regret is not having more to tip! Mindy gave us the table to chat for another 30mins but in the back of my mind I was still enamored from the meal. I had no expectations when I entered Mitr Thai but I left with a sincere amount of praise and admiration. From cuisine to the hospitality down to the furnishings, dining here was one of the best overall experiences I've had in YEARS. I cannot say enough about this establishment and I hope they Always Strive & Prosper.

I came here with a group of six on a weeknight with no reservations. We were seated immediately on the second floor. The restaurant had a chic, sophisticated interior, with black and gold accents and wood furniture. A large spiral fringe chandelier hung from the ceiling. While the environment indeed was upscale, the food still retained that cozy, home-cooked element known to Thai cuisine. I split the short rib curry and pork cheek with my husband. The curry was creamy with a kick of heat. The beef pull-apart tender. I'm salivating just thinking about it now. The pork cheek was delicious as well. It had the taste and texture of pork belly, which paired splendidly with the sweet and tangy fish sauce it came with. Others from my party ordered the masaman curry and a type of noodle (I think it was the pad kee mao?), and they all approved of their dishes. The drinks were wonderful as well, so distinctly Thai and inventive. I highly doubt you'll find anything here that isn't excellent.

Not all midtown restaurants stay open past 10, and I was relieved to find their kitchen going strong at that hour, as well as their dining space, which was full. Turned out it was for good reason because their food was delicious. My friend and I were hoping to eat at a restaurant nearby specializing in crab, but they closed much earlier. Fortunately for us, SaiTong's menu had plenty of crab on it, and we decided to double up and make each of our entree's a crab one. The black spaghetti crab curry and crab curry noodles advertised themselves as being very different dishes in both presentation and ingredients but ended up tasting kind of similar. One was topped with deep fried crab and used a different type of noodle than the other, but the sauces were so similar. This is not to say that they didn't taste good, but I would've preferred more variance. I'm glad we got an order of papaya salad to cut the richness of the other dishes, and I also appreciated it had a nice level of heat in it. Our servers were really friendly without being overbearing, and let us linger for a bit even after we paid the bill, as it was their last seating for the evening. There are so many excellent Thai restaurants in the city and I'd put SaiTong firmly in the category of perfectly solid spots to get your Thai fix, with some special dishes on the chef's menu worth checking out.

It does well with doing the whole "fusion" schtick without losing the essence and flavor of the dishes. Pad Krapoa Moo Krob, the meat on the pork belly was so juicy - the pork skin was crunchy and chewy at the same time, flavors of Thai spice, basil, and bell peppers harmoniously working together to bring a balanced meal. The shrimp basil fried rice was delicious, a great alternative if you're not feeling the crab fried rice. The service at Obao is always prompt and helpful, whether it's questions about the menu or recommendations, anyone is willing to help. Inside Oboa is dimly lit, a moody vibe that is fun and invites playful conversations.

The hostess stated how she had a long reservation list, but was able to get us right in! Once we sat down, our server, Spaghetti, came over to us. He was extremely friendly and took our drink orders right away. I ordered an Espresso Martini, and it was delicious. My father ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which was extremely tasty. For our entrees, my mother ordered the Pad Thai, and my father and I ordered the Pho Bó. My mom absolutely loved the Pad Thai! The Pho Bó was incredible. The broth was so delectable, and it was honestly the best broth that I have ever had. The portions were also incredible, especially for the price and being in the city! Once we received the check, we noticed that next to the Pho Bó, it stated that it is Michelin Recommended, and we completely understand why! We are looking forward to going back!

Stopped by The Thonglor New York for dinner and ordered the pad kra pow with a fried egg on top…read more The egg is definitely a must for this dish! As a Thai person myself and as indicated on their menu, it's the way most Thais eat this dish :) The fried egg added that rich, runny element that really brings everything together. The veggies were nicely sautéed, fresh and still crisp, and there was a good amount of ground pork, so the dish felt hearty and satisfying rather than rice-heavy. Overall, the flavors were solid and comforting, though I personally found it just a touch sweeter than I prefer for pad kra pow. Even so, it definitely hit the spot and was very satisfying for a late-night craving. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant overall. One thing to keep in mind though is timing - if you're dining closer to closing, you may feel a bit rushed toward the end of your meal. All in all, a solid option for Thai food! I'd come back again (probably earlier next time) and would be interested in trying more dishes from the menu.

Ordered takeout, was NEEDING pad thai after a night out. This didn't exactly hit the spot though…read more For being one of the most popular dishes...it's just mid. Not worth $20. The flavor is sweet with a heavy red hue to it. I typically like my pad thai on the browner side if that makes sense. The peanuts add more depth of flavor for sure but it could also use a bit of spice and should've came with a lime wedge to cut the sweetness. Great portion size though & takeout service was fast. Also beware if you don't like tofu as it comes in the eggs that they add to the dish.
