A hidden gem in Midtown with great Thai food and service! We came on a Sunday night which was surprisingly quiet. We came before 6pm and were able to snag a happy hour priced drink for our meal. Both the pad-char branzino and pad see ew were delicious! Service and the atmosphere was great - we felt welcomed and well served throughout our meal.

Loved the story and the ambiance. Went for lunch on a beautiful and surprisingly unbusy day. Lots of good options, including some pretty unique dishes. Also some overselling by waitstaff on the flavors so take recommendations with a grain of salt. I'd suggest visiting and trying dishes here you can't find elsewhere, but pass on the standard menu items that sound elevated but at the cost of flavor, especially from (missing) aromatics. Pricy but I'd do again. Especially on a date night or light celebration.

The restaurant is beautiful with its mural and Thai decor. Good for a date night or all group. Stopped by for lunch one day and it wasn't busy. The staff was nice. They are known for cocktails that come in a cool Thai inspired design. I tried one that was made non alcoholic for me. Decent. They also have a drink happy hour 12-4. As for food, it was just okay. Tried a vegetarian dish called Tofu Kua Krob which is basically fried tofu cubes with chili garlic on it. I found it to be too salty and a little pricey at $24 for what it was. A Thai friend who joined lunch tried Kra Pow Moo Sup and said it was ok. Overall cute spot but the food flavor felt a bit lacking. Maybe I'd go back to try another item or for drinks.

I've had this place saved on my list for a while, and I'm so glad that I finally got to make a reservation and go for dinner on a Wednesday night! I'm really glad that I made the reservation, because the restaurant was packed even at 8pm. It's not a huge restaurant, but they managed to fit a lot of tables. I love that the menu has a combination of authentic Thai dishes, and more typical dishes you would find like Pad Thai. There are so many things from the menu that looked good, so it was really hard trying to narrow it down. In the end, I ordered: - Chive dumplings (5/5) - Massaman tofu curry (5/5) - Mango sticky rice (4/5) The sticky rice was good but I wish the mango was a bit more ripe. The employees were also all super friendly and never made us feel rushed, even when we ended up being the second to last table at the end of the night. I would totally recommend this place!

Charoen Krung Thai doesn't look like anything special on the outside, but gosh it's fantastic on the inside. We loved the vibe, service, and especially the food, with dishes you don't find at just any Thai place you walk into. We weren't extremely hungry, so we went with a relatively small order of spring rolls, corn fritters, and widely-praised Panang short ribs. The spring rolls were the sleeper hit of the meal, so fresh and flavorful but better than your standard version, accompanied by a sauce I didn't recognize but that gave a great acidic punch. The short ribs were enormous, definitely a dish for sharing. In addition to the delicious curry and well-braised meat, it had more vegetables than I expected (eggplants and long beans), which was a welcome surprise. I was thrilled to see a bigger N/A cocktail menu than usual. I ordered a Da-Ra Thong, and it was complex and refreshing. I took my first sip as the bartender was walking by, and he paused to check my reaction with a thumbs up and questioning expression - I returned the thumbs up with a smile! It was representative of the great service here, where people were friendly and really cared that you were enjoying your dinner. Downright excellent - go to this place!

I come here often for the lunch special but went for dinner for the first time. Ordered the more expensive specialty entree, pad char branzino and found it amazingly crispy and rich. Perfectly deboned and full of other unique garnishes, like green peppercorns and bamboo shoots, soaked in the spicy sauce. The staff was very friendly explaining the menu and treating us to complementary tea afterwards. The interior is nicely lit and not too loud, good for dates.

Unfortunately I think the quality went down.. I used to love this place and recommended to a lot of my friends but this time, but food wasn't as good! The crispy bork belly is usually what I love but it was not crispy at all.. Just a lot of meat and had to chew a lot! The thai iced tea also didn't really hit the spot this time.. It wasn't as flavorful which was a bit disappointing. I think that the appetizer that we got (Summer Rolls) was the best!

Charoen Krung Thai is a popular Thai spot in midtown. They are definitely bringing traditional flavors with a modern twist to its customers. The night we came here, we tried some standout dishes: The crispy corn fritters and curry puffs, both perfect as appetizers. The ribs were succulent, flavorful, and literally fall-off-the-bone--definitely a highlight. The fried red snapper was delicious and perfectly fried, and the mango salad on the side, I couldn't stop eating it. We mainly ate the fish without the sauce it came with. As for the drinks, we had soju-based cocktails, which were great, but with the full liquor license coming soon, it'll be interesting to see what new drink options they'll offer. The vybe overall is fun and I squealed when our shaved ice dessert came out! It was thai iced tea flavor (which I love) with 2 different kinds of jelly inside. We noticed a lot of locals were dining in and ordering out, which says a lot about how well-loved the place is and how great the service is. It's Definitely worth a visit for date night or a hang out.

Charoen Krung Thai serves up some really tasty food! definitely on the pricier side, but the flavors are worth it. I had the duck curry, which was rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. Portions are medium, enough to enjoy without feeling overstuffed. I didnt like dumplings.. deffy tasted mid...The only downside for me was the dining space itself. It's quite small, and because of that, it felt a bit overstimulating. I could hear everyone else's detailed conversations more than my own table's, which made it hard to relax and fully enjoy the meal. Overall, great food and worth a visit if you're more focused on flavors than atmosphere.

Had a lovely brunch here!! My fiancé and I split everything. Staff was so nice. Love the fried whole fish!!

Beautiful, cozy restaurant in midtown, nyc serving authentic Thai food!! Service was impeccable and attentive, this is such a true hidden gem. I can't stop thinking about their CRISPY mango branzino and pork belly, their flavorful ghang phed duck, and their beautiful drinks with gold flakes!

Khao Soi Chicken that's on par with (or even better than) the one from Soothr, but much easier to get a resy. While we're lucky to have so many great Thai restaurants in NYC, Charoen Krung is one of the few I find myself coming back to. From appetizers to entrees, desserts to drinks, the quality of their thai dishes is consistently well above average. They've got the perfect vibes, whether it's a romantic date night or a girls' night out. I celebrated my friend's birthday here, and we had the best time. *Sweet Corn Fritters $12 ** I loved aussie breakfast style corn fritters, but this is my first time having a thai style one. It was served with sweet chili sauce and crushed peanuts. These were some addictively tasty little bites to share.  *Summer Rolls $13 As the weather warms up, the summer rolls were perfect for a hot evening. Wrapped in rice paper, they were filled with shrimp, minced pork, and fresh veggies--complemented by a tangy green seafood dipping sauce. *Khao Soi Chicken $22 *** I loved khao soi and this one 100% satisfied my craving. It came with a giant, tender chicken drumstick. The curry stew was incredibly rich and flavorful, simmered with pickled cabbage and red onion. The combination of soft egg noodles and crispy deep-fried noodles created a complex contrast of textures that we really enjoyed. *Ghang Phed Duck $32 ** Their lychee curry duck left such a memorable impression last time that I had to order it again. It was just as delicious as I remembered--the duck was incredibly tender with crispy golden skin, tossed in a rich curry sauce. *Mango Sticky Rice $15 Of course we got their seasonal mango sticky rice. We cleaned the plate even though we were super full. The sticky rice had a spot-on texture, drenched in coconut milk and topped with crunchy fried mung bean. Honestly one of the best mango sticky rice in town.

Omg how to begin this review, this restaurant was incredibly delicious and so so busy at lunch time. The ambiance was great, a little rowdy with loud conversations around me. I saw office employees enjoying themselves a sit down lunch. I came to this restaurant as I was getting hungry after having received my monthly allergy injections. I had to wait 5 minutes for a table since the business was so busy. Maybe ten minutes after I was seated the lunch rush died down. I ordered myself the complimentary appetizers salad with peanut dressing and steamed dumplings (mixed chicken and shrimp) and for my entree I ordered a chicken pad Thai. I came in hungry, and enjoyed myself the delicious complimentary appetizers. Once my Pad Thai had arrived, I was a bit full from my appetizers. The lunch Pad Thai was delightfully packed with so much flavor. I would say this is one of the best Thai restaurants I have had in the city. The interior design of the restaurant is giving off beautiful aesthetic vibes. I also ordered myself a Thai Iced Coffee and it was so tasty. I enjoyed every sip of my iced coffee. I of course had leftovers from my Pad Thai which is perfect it meant I had dinner. So happy this business is doing well. The staff were friendly during my time here. They were busy but still attentive to its customers. And I think the price point is fair for a lunch special. 10/10 Thai restaurant recommendation on 2nd avenue.

I've never tried a Japanese cheesecake before and was extremely excited to be able to pick up some treats for my coworkers as well as my partner's birthday cake from Keki. Ordering is fairly straightforward and done with a simple machine outfront. Once your order is ready one of the staff members hands it to you through a window; there is no inside area accessible to customers but our food came quickly and we took it back to the office. The cheesecake was fantastic. I read a bit about the background of the shop online and how the owner really cares about using high-quality ingredients, specifically dairy. It was justas described, light and bouncy. I enjoyed how it was not overly sweet and found that it was all too easy to devour the entire cake over the course of two days. Despite it not having much weight to it, it traveled surprisingly well as I took it home on my three train commute! Similar to what others have said, the real highlight of the shop, in my opinion, are their cream puffs. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but the outer layer was thin yet had a nice little crunch to it. We tried the classic milk, cookies & cream pistachio and ube flavors. Our favorite was the pistachio by far, which had such a unique yet decadent flavor and our second favorite was the milk cream puff. There's not much else I can say other than you really have to go here and try the desserts yourself. If you're a fan of Japanese desserts that are rich yet not too sweet, you'll be a fan of Keki.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
