The steamed seabass was fresh and simple, and the grilled seafood platter had generous portions. Dessert isn't on the menu, but what we tried was interesting and refreshing. Manhattan, NY (Hell's Kitchen) - an intimate little spot with solid Thai food and interesting dishes on the menu that I would like to tour more of. The cooking is traditional and authentic with modern touches, and well presented. In hindsight, I wish I'd branched out more, as we accidentally stumbled into a mostly all-beef situation: one diner doesn't eat pork, I'm the only seafood enthusiast in the group, and the child needs something "safe" like pad Thai. The non-pork eater loved his nuer yang (grilled NY strip) which was tender if dainty. My nuer Panang (brisket in Panang curry) had a richly flavored curry, but the brisket itself didn't quite achieve that fall-apart tenderness I had hoped for. My husband's nuer nong kaeng kiew (beef shank in green curry) packed a nice kick with deeply layered flavor, though something tasted slightly off. Mom's pad Thai with chicken again had an excellent flavor, a touch sweet, though I prefer the noodles to be less saucy than this version. We ordered an UberEats pickup, and it was ready within like 5 minutes which was wild. The Kai Tod ($12) came with 5 to 6 pieces of Southern Thai style fried chicken topped with crispy shallot rings. They were actually pretty good. The Nuer Yang ($28) is a grilled NY strip steak with crispy chili garlic and cucumber on a bed of lettuce. The tamarind sauce was good, and the steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare. That said, we made the mistake of microwaving it later and it ruined the steak. This one is really best enjoyed in store since I wouldn't recommend ordering it for delivery or takeout. read more

Would highly recommend trying here sometime. It's one of the best Thai spots I've been to in the city, up against some fierce competitors. The Sai Ua (sausage) and Pak Mor (steamed rice roll) were both excellent appetizers and aren't items you see on every Thai menu in NYC. Walking into the location is a little tricky because there are two sides - the side we sat on was like a long hallway with no greeting table, so it's a bit unusual. The menu has lots of different options compared to other Thai places and the food is really tasty. Their dumpling appetizers with coconut sauce was amazing. It seems like it's run pretty bare bones, so the waiters work very hard here. Lighting is very dim here for atmosphere. They were very accommodating when I said I have a very bad spice tolerance and even offer to give me a different sauce for my salmon wrap. read more

It's a cozy little place in an unassuming location. Service was prompt... a bit too prompt as they kept asking us to order right after seating us down. They give you a welcome drink right away as well which was a nice touch! We went for Saturday lunch hour and place was not packed so no reservations required I would say. I tried the Miang Salmon and it was super tasty! Loved all the dipping sauces. The salmon was cooked well, but was kind of a lukewarm temperature. We were also sitting right by the front door, so it's possible that as I was enjoying my meal with friends that the food just cooled down more quickly because of where we were seated. It's a small yet cozy place and poppin on a Thursday evening. The food came quickly and everything was very good. We did not eat family style but it was a good call. We went to Valla Table for an early dinner before a Broadway show. The restaurant is quite small with a train car layout, so we chose to sit by the entrance for some privacy. However, I was disappointed to find out that they don't serve alcohol despite having different information online. Therefore, I deducted a star from my rating. Upon checking in on Yelp, we were offered Thai iced tea. As we were short on time, we skipped the appetizers and ordered the main entrees instead. We shared the crispy pork belly with fried garlic, grilled New York steak strips served with chili tamarind sauce, and crab meat fried rice. All the dishes arrived at once and we were pleased to find that they were flavorful and perfect for sharing. Our server added another table for us, which made our dining experience more comfortable. We thought that all the dishes were good and served in a timely fashion. However, I do hope that they have started serving alcohol as I believe that spicy dishes pair well with a glass of wine. read more

I found the crispy pork to be unevenly cooked, some pieces harder than others, my pad Thai noodles were undercooked so it was chewy. The flavor and toppings were good though. My friend's noodles were stuck together and also a bit chewy. My other friend ordered the wagyu dish and expected a piece of wagyu which was pictured on the menu but it was just ground beef. He said it tasted good but was disappointed he paid extra for what he thought would be a whole piece of wagyu (he's also from Japan). A solid Thai food spot in Hell's Kitchen. We got the beef curry (Nuer Panang), the pad thai with chicken, khao yum (butterfly pea rice salad), and the Yen ta fu hot pot. The beef curry comes with rice and the flavors were good but the portion was pretty small - they didn't add any vegetables in it so it's just slices of beef in curry sauce. Pad thai was very saucy, which was good, but definitely on the sweeter side. Khao yum was good but it was also my first time trying it (I think) so I don't have a point of comparison. Yen ta fu hotpot was fine, but I'm personally not a huge fan of yen ta fu having tried it in Bangkok before. Fabulous menu & delicious dishes..that i will give them. Hard to decide what to order, I would actually recommend glancing at the menu ahead of time to narrow it down. They will come over continuously so better to be ready. My friend described the service as being stalked, lol..there were so many people working, coming to check in, take our order, ask questions...it was very odd. We had (#6 for convenience) Ba Mee Gyo, egg noodle, shrimp & pork wonton and Moo Daeng (pork slices) in a clear broth (delicious, pricey) & a red curry w tofu. both were very good. Also odd was the very very narrow entire restaurant with one line of tables down the whole right side. Absolutely no one seated when we arrived at 5 pm (after 2 phone messages and a text and a reminder 3 x that we only had 1 hour and 15 minutes to eat with our reservation), we were escorted to one of the tables furthest back near the service area..nope, please reconsider one of the 8 tables closer to the front and daylight. And as a side note, those tables all sat empty for at least another 30 min, and then only 4 people were seated.. I would not return. Very annoying place and 8 dollars for the 750 ml San Pellegrino even more annoying. read more
