Everything tasted really good and you can tell the chef did a great job with combining the flavors. At the end we all wished we got more food. As you can tell, the curry needed more liquid and felt like portions weren't enough.

Went here with a friend to celebrate her birthday and had a great experience. The space is modern, spacious, and lovely, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations. We ordered a few starters and a soft shell crab curry with jasmine rice and vermicelli noodles--everything was delicious and perfect portion for two girls! We also enjoyed our non-alcoholic drinks alongside the meal. A special touch: the staff surprised my friend with ice cream and a candle after I noted her birthday in the reservation. Such a thoughtful gesture! Would definitely recommend for lunch or dinner.

What a pleasant surprise to stumble upon a delicious Thai restaurant offering one of the best braised beef cheek in the city. The host was very welcoming and even went out of his way to accommodate our early arrival (by 45 mins). The restaurant had a modern and sleek decor with the bar being the center piece. It was a narrow restaurant but didn't feel overly crowded. Aside from the very tasty beef cheek, we really enjoyed the ribeye garlic fried rice. The meat was tender and the garlic flavor wasn't overpowering; but I did wish the portion would be a big bigger. Although the chili lime branzino was fresh, as far as steam fish goes, this one didn't catch my attention. Services were great and prompt and our server provided great recommendations. We had a small issue during dinner but it was quickly resolved. I would highly recommend this Thai restaurant if you are in the area.

It's after midnight and I'm still thinking about my dinner. I had the massaman beef curry with potato pavé. The sauce was damn delicious!! It was served to me a little warm but I didn't even care. I ate all of it! The beef was soooo tender. Just fell apart. Melted in my mouth. My mom had the crab fried rice and we shared an order of Brussels sprouts. Her dish was good. Not as memorable for me but definitely solid. The Brussels sprouts were cooked well. Could use a little less soy flavor but I enjoyed them. I took home some pad kee mao for the next day. Also very solid from the little taste I had. The prices are a little "up there" but the restaurant is cozy and well decorated. The staff was kind and did generally well even though they completely forgot to put in my order. I'd return on a special occasion.

Visited here on a Friday night for dinner and it was quite quiet when we arrived for a 7pm reservation. By the time we left it was definitely much busier with people waiting for a table, but we never felt rushed to leave. I also appreciated that they let us sit at the table before our entire party arrived. We ordered the beef fried rice, chicken pad Thai, shrimp wontons, tuna tartare, the chive sticks, and the mango sticky rice. Between three of us, we practically licked the bowls clean! All of the food was tasty and flavorful. One thing to note is the tuna tartare is very spicy. They warned us and I didn't believe them, but it packs a punch! Would return!

By and far one of the best meals we had in NYC. Wait time was practically nothing, and the service was top notch. Coats taken from us to check in, water refills constantly, and smiles all around. Food was excellent, great flavor profiles and portion sizes. Our friends with us have never really eaten Thai or been out much, so for their first real Thai experience it was an exceptional one and set the standard pretty high.

My friend and I came to Kraam for Summer Restaurant Week and while the environment and foods is decent, I was a bit disappointed with the flavors, especially as there are so many amazing Thai spots in Manhattan. We started the watermelon salad and burrata. The menu said the saiad was topped with seasoned crispy branzino but honestly I didn't see any pieces of fish and the combination of watermelon and crispy garlic and shallots was a bit odd and the dish was pretty oily. The burrata was yummy with chili jam but nothing special. For mains, we got the wok-fried crispy seafood (this was my favorite of the meal) and the ground beef with rice and eggplant. The fried seafood was nicely seasoned with a light breading. The ground beef dish though I could make myself and while it had a nice flavor and spicy kick, I thought it was deceptive marketing to call it dry aged ribeye when it's really ground beef. Finally we got the coconut puff with butterfly pea coconut ice cream for dessert as the shaved ice was sold out. The coconut puff was rich and creamy which was a nice decadent way to end the meal but the coconut ice cream was way too sweet my taste and fairly generic. Overall not bad but a little disappointing as the flavors were just ok and for the price ($60 per person) for restaurant week, the meal really wasn't worth it.

They were having restaurant week which was 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert for $60 (dinner). We shared a restaurant week and got an extra entree. The waitress was extremely patient and helpful in helping us choose our dishes and giving us recommendations. Appetizer - Yum Som O Lobster I've never had Pomelo salad before. The flavors were good, similar to papaya salad though I personally prefer the crunchy texture of papaya over pomelo (similar to grapefruit). The lobster tail was cooked well, but they gave half a lobster tail and it was relatively small (about the size of a large shrimp). Entrees Tom som Chilean sea bass: probably my favorite dish of the night. The sea bass was super soft and melted in my mouth. Even the mushrooms were nice and soft. The broth itself was a nice clear sour soup, but wasn't as flavorful as some other Thai restaurants I've been to. Again I felt the portion was a little small since they only gave four chunks of fish. Seafood Pad Kee Mao ($30): One of the rare times that they do give a lot of seafood, but I wish they gave more noodles instead. Good flavor and overall a good pad Kee Mao. Dessert - thapthim krop The shaved ice in coconut milk reminded me of the Vietnamese dessert, Che. Except the ice here was hardened so I couldn't break it into the coconut milk. There were very few pieces of jackfruit and the chestnut jellies were hard as if they had just taken them out of the fridge. Very disappointing end to an otherwise good meal. Overall, I would say the flavors were good but not worth the price. However, if you're looking for good Thai food in East Midtown area, it's worth giving this place a shot.

Summer Restaurant Week returned late July and ran three weeks ending August 17th. However many places are continuing it till the end of the month and into September. Kraam Thai's menu was appealing. I ate there last week. Located in the Flatiron District, this restaurant was pretty. Limited outdoor seating but an interior that has flowers, foliage, overhead fans and lovely seating. It almost felt colonial. What did I choose? To begin, I had the Chili Prawns Wonton served in a spicy lime sauce. The chicken and prawns were tasty combination and were filling. The broad rice noodles with Peking Duck were silky and seeped in flavor that I have been dreaming about them all week. Normally I don't order a drink but the mocktail sounded interesting. Lychee, passion fruit and coconut was not in my opinion a good combination. What I should have had was the mango mojito. Several customers had ordered it. Service was fine and Joshua had I'll Ed in Thailand and was familiar with the cuisine. The restroom is downstairs and it is such a lovely well decorated large space to freshen up. Summer Restaurant Week here runs through the end of this month so I hope I can go again. This time I want to have the corn ribs as the appetizer and pair it with the mango mojito

Food 4/5 Service 4.5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Value 4/5 We celebrated a birthday here with a large party of 20+ people, taking up the inner dining room. This is definitely an aesthetically pleasing restaurant, and it's rare that I leave a pre-fixe menu feeling actually full, so major props for that! The appetizers were generally subpar, with the exception of the Crispy Chive Sticks which were definitely the favorite from that section. Overall, my takeaway is that if you order the right things, you'll have a great experience here! The highlights was def the soft shell crab and crab fried rice. What we tried: Appetizers: Crispy Chive Sticks: 4.5/5 - Our top pick from the apps! Grilled Squid Salad: 3/5 - A bit too much cilantro for my taste. Prawn Satay: 3/5 - Mediocre, though the prawn was decently meaty. Grilled Sweet Corn with Papaya Salad: 3.5/5 - On the spicier side but still tasty. Sweet Chili Tofu: 2/5 - My least favorite; the tofu was too hard and firm. Entrees Pad Eggplant and Tofu: 2/5 - I'd probably skip anything with tofu here. Chicken Roasted Market Vegetables Green Curry: 2.5/5 - Didn't really wow me; pretty basic. Braised Beef Massaman Curry: 4/5 - This dish was great, but honestly, the potatoes were the trurock star! Crispy Soft Shell Crab: 4.5/5 - This definitely stood out and was probably the favorite thing we got from the entrees! Choo Chee Branzino: 4/5 - Yummy branzino, perfectly cooked. Crab Volcanic Egg Fried Rice: 4.5/5 - I'm always a big fan of Thai crab fried rice, and they certainly didn't disappoint. Desserts Matcha Yuzu Cheesecake: 5/5 - Loved, loved the bold yuzu flavors, and the cheesecake wasn't heavy at all! Mango Sticky Rice: 4.5/5 - The sticky rice with mango was perfect with the coconut cream.

Lunch special comes with 1 app. 3/5 shrimp pad see eew $24- way too sweet, wuda been good otherwise 3/5 ka prow- pretty spicy 3/5 chive sticks- crispy but don't dunk the whole thing in soy sauce- too salty 3/5 salad - kale, carrot, green apple - not a fan of kale but was ok considering so

Kraam Thai is nestled in Manhattan's NoMad neighborhood. The decor was chic and the service was outstanding. Standout appetizers include the Koi Tuna, a Thai-style yellowfin tuna tartare on lettuce cups garnished with crispy shallots and toasted rice. For mains, the pad Thai and pad kee mao were savory and delicious. I would definitely come back.

Gorgeous Thai eatery on 5th avenue- a convenient 15 min to Penn station and close to numerous subway stations. The place is small and fills up quick, so be sure to make a reservation. They have a happy hour from 12:30-6:30PM which is nice, but prices are still high with a happy hour cocktail being priced at $13. We got the green curry and pad kee mao which was delicious! Ended the night with the lava cake. No complaints at all on the food, just that the place was small and it definitely felt like we were being rushed to wrap up (makes sense, they probably had a long line of people waiting for reservations, but not the best experience).

Considering the hectic 48hrs of non-stop traveling and celebrations, I would've been satisfied with a simple takeout meal to end the weekend but to my surprise, one of the best experiences of the trip was yet to come. Thankfully I was blessed with great friends to recommend this exceptional establishment known as Mitr Thai in Midtown Manhattan. Though the trip was centered around a wedding, my experience here instantly became the highlight of my trip to the City. One very genuine friend arranged this dinner, making a reservation for 3 for 7:30pm. To our surprise, we actually made it from Connecticut, walked from Grand Central and to Mitr Thai at 7:25pm even though they won't seat you until your entire party is there. After passing through the scaffolding, the restaurant has a two-door entry, one host after another, leading to a quaint but alluring lobby area. We were greeted by both hosts even though we were bogged down with luggage. The space was welcoming and had a sense of elegance as there was a blend of hardwood furnishings, low lighting and a heavy dose of Thai art/fixtures. For context: Labor Day Monday, at 7-8pm, there was a steady demand as the waiting bench remained full. There were even guests standing but even as more people came in, people were being seated at a consistent rate. Our 3rd friend arrived closer to 8pm and we were seated immediately. Our bags were placed in a small room behind the host podium and we were seated 20-30 meters from the door along the wall facing the bar. The menus were very comprehensive: large, descriptive and filled with graphics that left me wondering if I could try it all. I couldn't praise our server (Mindy) enough. She knew the kitchen, bar and any/all offerings like her own name. She had individual recommendations for each of us AND ADDITIONAL OPTIONS. I listened, ordered the Short Rib Prik Kang and indulged in a Verdant Whisper (Tequila, Cucumber, Lime). I'm not sure how but our food arrived less than 15mins later! The short rib looked good enough to make the entire restaurant jealous: the curry paste glistened in the light, the aroma called my name while the garnishes winked at me. To my disbelief, as good as it looked, it tasted even better! The sauce was robust, smooth, creamy & just spicy enough. Since the ribs slid off the bone, I mixed in the white mixed rice and ate it as a meal. I can proudly say I've never had anything like it. Oh yeah, the cocktail? Smooth, refreshing and relaxing. Worth every penny. I was elated with the overall experience and chose to pay for both of my friend's meals. My only regret is not having more to tip! Mindy gave us the table to chat for another 30mins but in the back of my mind I was still enamored from the meal. I had no expectations when I entered Mitr Thai but I left with a sincere amount of praise and admiration. From cuisine to the hospitality down to the furnishings, dining here was one of the best overall experiences I've had in YEARS. I cannot say enough about this establishment and I hope they Always Strive & Prosper.

I came here with a group of six on a weeknight with no reservations. We were seated immediately on the second floor. The restaurant had a chic, sophisticated interior, with black and gold accents and wood furniture. A large spiral fringe chandelier hung from the ceiling. While the environment indeed was upscale, the food still retained that cozy, home-cooked element known to Thai cuisine. I split the short rib curry and pork cheek with my husband. The curry was creamy with a kick of heat. The beef pull-apart tender. I'm salivating just thinking about it now. The pork cheek was delicious as well. It had the taste and texture of pork belly, which paired splendidly with the sweet and tangy fish sauce it came with. Others from my party ordered the masaman curry and a type of noodle (I think it was the pad kee mao?), and they all approved of their dishes. The drinks were wonderful as well, so distinctly Thai and inventive. I highly doubt you'll find anything here that isn't excellent.

Not all midtown restaurants stay open past 10, and I was relieved to find their kitchen going strong at that hour, as well as their dining space, which was full. Turned out it was for good reason because their food was delicious. My friend and I were hoping to eat at a restaurant nearby specializing in crab, but they closed much earlier. Fortunately for us, SaiTong's menu had plenty of crab on it, and we decided to double up and make each of our entree's a crab one. The black spaghetti crab curry and crab curry noodles advertised themselves as being very different dishes in both presentation and ingredients but ended up tasting kind of similar. One was topped with deep fried crab and used a different type of noodle than the other, but the sauces were so similar. This is not to say that they didn't taste good, but I would've preferred more variance. I'm glad we got an order of papaya salad to cut the richness of the other dishes, and I also appreciated it had a nice level of heat in it. Our servers were really friendly without being overbearing, and let us linger for a bit even after we paid the bill, as it was their last seating for the evening. There are so many excellent Thai restaurants in the city and I'd put SaiTong firmly in the category of perfectly solid spots to get your Thai fix, with some special dishes on the chef's menu worth checking out.

The presentation is everything! If you change it and add chicken to it, they bring it out like a regular dish so only order with shrimp, if you like seafood! The ambience is very welcoming and trendy with a whole vibe.

However, when I got to the restaurant, I was told that they were not participating. When I brought this up to the staff, they did comment that several people made the same mistake earlier in the week. If that was the case, then why not correct the restaurant week website, or make it very obvious on your website that you aren't participating? Both of us were starving, and I had put in a birthday request at the restaurant, so we decided to stay. The ambiance is classy, and this would be a great spot for a business dinner or date night. I ordered a massaman curry with roti and chicken ($29), and my friend ordered the chuchi shrimp ($30) and curry puff ($16). Prices are a bit above average for the portion size, but justified by the area. We both enjoyed our dishes; the flavors were on point! Then, for my friend's birthday, they gave us mochi ice cream and a card signed by the staff! That was a nice touch that overrode the restaurant week debacle. Service was fantastic. There were multiple check backs and water refills. I would recommend Sabai Thai for a fancy night out, and I would return to try other dishes.

It does well with doing the whole "fusion" schtick without losing the essence and flavor of the dishes. Pad Krapoa Moo Krob, the meat on the pork belly was so juicy - the pork skin was crunchy and chewy at the same time, flavors of Thai spice, basil, and bell peppers harmoniously working together to bring a balanced meal. The shrimp basil fried rice was delicious, a great alternative if you're not feeling the crab fried rice. The service at Obao is always prompt and helpful, whether it's questions about the menu or recommendations, anyone is willing to help. The hostess stated how she had a long reservation list, but was able to get us right in! Once we sat down, our server, Spaghetti, came over to us. He was extremely friendly and took our drink orders right away. I ordered an Espresso Martini, and it was delicious. My father ordered a Vietnamese Iced Coffee, which was extremely tasty. For our entrees, my mother ordered the Pad Thai, and my father and I ordered the Pho Bó. My mom absolutely loved the Pad Thai! The Pho Bó was incredible. The broth was so delectable, and it was honestly the best broth that I have ever had. The portions were also incredible, especially for the price and being in the city! Once we received the check, we noticed that next to the Pho Bó, it stated that it is Michelin Recommended, and we completely understand why! We are looking forward to going back!

As a Thai person myself and as indicated on their menu, it's the way most Thais eat this dish :) The fried egg added that rich, runny element that really brings everything together. The veggies were nicely sautéed, fresh and still crisp, and there was a good amount of ground pork, so the dish felt hearty and satisfying rather than rice-heavy. Overall, the flavors were solid and comforting, though I personally found it just a touch sweeter than I prefer for pad kra pow. Even so, it definitely hit the spot and was very satisfying for a late-night craving. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant overall. One thing to keep in mind though is timing - if you're dining closer to closing, you may feel a bit rushed toward the end of your meal. All in all, a solid option for Thai food! I'd come back again (probably earlier next time) and would be interested in trying more dishes from the menu.

The flavor is sweet with a heavy red hue to it. I typically like my pad thai on the browner side if that makes sense. The peanuts add more depth of flavor for sure but it could also use a bit of spice and should've came with a lime wedge to cut the sweetness. Great portion size though & takeout service was fast. Also beware if you don't like tofu as it comes in the eggs that they add to the dish.
