    khao soi

Saw a tik tok of this place and I was so excited to try their crab omelette rice which was sadly sold out when I arrived (8:30 pm on a Tuesday). We got fried fish balls, the khao soi and tom yum instead. The other two weren't particularly note worthy, but the khao soi was super flavorful and I liked the noodles' texture. Also, our waitress was really nice about everything and very attentive. Overall, the food was more of a 3/5 but the restaurant was really cute and I loved the service which bumped up the rating.

CASH ONLY! Quaint spot with adorable decor and cozy vibes. The boat noodles was bombbbbb at $18, worth every penny. The best I've ever had in nyc. The crab omelet rice? Meh, it's alright for $22, but I'd skip it next time and double down on those noodles. They're the real reason I'll be back - can't resist!

Great experience. The entire restaurant is set up like an old school Thai corner store. They have tiny plastic figurines and hair dye sachets hanging from the ceiling like you'd find in a neighbourhood shop!! They have a very limited vegetarian menu, but it's one of the best Thai I've ever had. They don't hold back on the spices, no complaints.

What a hidden gem! Open late nights only and I'm glad I saved my appetite. I've never had better broth and this noodle soup was worth trekking across states for! Usually soup broths can be too salty and heavy and discarded after eating the noodles but not this one! The decor is reminiscent of a night stall in Thailand at night and very unique. The staff were super sweet and kind.

The former owners of the now defunct Lamoon restaurant in Elmhurst has opened a brand spanking new restaurant in the same location. It's so new in fact, that the façade still boasts the old name. Inside the décor is very similar; the layout, tables, chairs, and light fixtures are all the same just with a fresh color palate and new murals on the walls. I would say the biggest change is the food. Unlike Lamoon, this new restaurant focuses on Thai skewers and street food. I was a huge fan of Lamoon and was very excited to see how Jai Sang Ma would compare. Today was their first day serving lunch. and this is what I ordered: Honey Pork skewer ($2.50) was tender and nicely charred with a slight sticky glaze. It was drenched in a spicy soy dressing. The fried fish balls ($2.50) were just okay. If you know how to make fish balls at home, then I would probably skip this. Enoki bacon rolls ($7) consisted of three pieces of enoki mushrooms wrapped in bacon and grilled. The best part of this was the garlic cilantro topping. I really liked this but thought it was a bit pricey considering it was only three pieces. Shrimp skewer ($2.50) was one piece of grilled shrimp with garlic sauce. This was so delicious, and I was sad that it was only one piece of shrimp per skewer. Roasted pork over rice ($12) was served with a hard-boiled egg and slices of cucumbers. This is a very familiar dish that you can find in a lot of Asian restaurants, and it was done well. The roasted pork was cut very thinly and was very tender but I wished there was more meat on the plate. Thai Ice Coffee $4 was strong and sweet; just the way I like it. Overall, I did enjoy the food. I just don't think it compares to the old Lamoon. Portions were on the small side. This place is good if you are looking for a quick spot to get something light to eat.

Thai skewers and street food in Elmhurst? Count me in! This place really reminded me of the night markets in Thailand. This restaurant use to be Lamoon, they repainted and added some new murals. I definitely recommend the red chicken skewers, chicken gizzards and the roasted pork with noodle dish. The dipping sauce was spicy and tangy, perfect combination for the meat. The veggies came with a cilantro dipping sauce which was tasty and made the veggies refreshing. Personally, I'll pass on the seafood and order more red chicken!

I went in there a on Tuesday night to get take out. It was DEAD. The owner was chatting with his friend and he took my order. They were out of a few things but I was able to try enough of their menu. Gave me an estimate of 15 min which was fine. However I noticed no one came in after me to order- there was no one else eating there and I heard no phone ringing for pick up orders. I'm not sure how much turn over they do but it wasn't any when I was there. It actually took them 25 min for my order to be prepped and then the owner asked me if I paid. I had already paid- I'm not sure how he could forget since I was their only customer. The food was overpriced. Overly salted and not in a good way. DO NOT GET THE BACON ENOKi. I didn't realize the price- it's 7 bucks for 3 half pieces of bacon and a handful of mushrooms. I also ordered the Thai pork spine soup which was flavorful but the container they put it in was not meant for soup so it spilled and it only had broth and meat. I was expecting noodles or something else in the broth to balance it. It was also pricey at 16 dollars. I don't think I would go here again- I'm not confident in the freshness of their food and it's not worth the wait.

The food is expensive but the quantity and quality is very low. For example. The small bucket of chicken bone is $12 . The soda is $6 and everything on the menu is over priced. I don't mind to pay. But it is super super rip off. Plus inside no air to breathe.

I don't often write Yelp reviews but my meal at Jai Sang Ma last night is worthy of a review. What a hidden gem of a restaurant! I had the Leng Zaap, a delicious sour and spicy soup with fall-off-the-bone tender pork. It was so tasty I'm still thinking about it 24 hours later. The decor is also unique and this place is worth a revisit. What a great restaurant!!

The restaurant has recently reopened after almost a year of renovation. The staff here were friendly and accommodating. The ambiance resembles a Thai neighborhood sundry store, and adorned with a collection of old-fashioned objects. There is an artificial cherry blossom tree enhancing the atmosphere. The lighting is a bit dim for my taste, and mosquitoes were a nuisance due to the rainy weather outside. The menu is small, but the food here offers great value for money. They have undergone a total menu makeover and no longer offer their pre-renovation menu, except for some best-selling menu items when the restaurant was still called by its previous name, "Lamoon". We tried the Leng Zapp (4/5), a zesty, herb-infused, slightly spicy soup with tender, melt-in-your-mouth pork. The Panang Pork Curry (4.5/5) had a rich and savory sauce, complementing the delightful thinly sliced pork. The Chicken and Shrimp Dumplings (3.5/5) were juicy, although slightly rubbery and in need of additional seasoning. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely be back for the curry.

Service was good. Thai ice tea is a must. The order was just enough to be full. The place was small and cozy and I went on a weekday and there was a singer with a guitar it was very nice on a weekday . Would go back I liked the environment

This place is so cute and cozy! The food is delicious but the portions are small. It's a bit expensive but has a really nice ambiance. It is relaxed and you do not feel like they are rushing you to leave.

They've also updated the ambience, making it feel cozier. I spoke with Jacob, the assistant manager, about my previous experience and the complimentary meal that was promised regarding the cockroach incident. He said he needed to verify it with the manager or business owner, and after 10-15 minutes came back to let me know the owner approved 50% off the whole meal. While I appreciated the gesture, I did feel it fell a little short of what was originally promised as a full complimentary meal. What stood out most this visit was Jacob himself. He told me he vividly remembered my party from that night because he was the one who seated us -- and he sincerely apologized for what happened. That acknowledgment genuinely meant a lot. They also gifted me a free mug, which was a sweet touch. The food and atmosphere continue to impress, and the staff clearly cares. I just hope the follow-through on promises matches the warmth of the service going forward.

They definitely didn't tell me that lunch specials were available before I ordered my soup. Other than that, everyone is pleasant. Space: they have two sides, so plenty of space, but nights and weekends can get pretty packed, so keep that in mind. Food: I ordered Tom Yum soup and a lunch drunken noodle with a Thai iced tea. I only had the soup there and took the entire lunch special to go. Just based off of the soup, I will be going back. It was delicious and PACKED to the MAX! Writing this now, I can still imagine. Drunken Noodles were also really tasty. I like mine spicy and it could have been made spicier, but that's not even a real complaint. Also- the one next to me had this dish which reminded me of pad see ew but in a gravy. Looked delicious!! I will be back for whatever she had. Overall: the entire block is like a little Thai street.
