Solid spot for a good pad Thai! A decent variety of noodle options as well with great dine in service. If you eat in, sit on the patio with the fountain it's such a cute vibe back there. The noodle soups have def cured me on cold winter days.
Only reason this place gets 4 stars is because I hate when the staff just hovers over our table. The place was packed for lunch! My best friend recommended it as she's had it a number of times. We were seated at a table that made my stroller very accessible. Our drinks were good and the food was amazing! The menu is massive and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely come back here to try something else. Thank you Pye Boat!
You cannot go wrong with Thai food at Pye Boat Noodle! Every dish has authentic Thai tastes, the service is always warm & welcoming, & the restaurant is simple & cozy, with a lovely outdoor space. Definitely one of my favorite Thai places in NY.
Love the decor at Pye Boat! Such a cute spot and the outdoor patio seating is perfect when the weather is nice. My go-to here is definitely the Pad Thai. I totally get why it's Mayor Mamdani's favorite Thai restaurant The flavors always hit and the portions are solid too. Also obsessed with their frozen drinks!! The frozen watermelon drink is SO refreshing and perfect on a hot summer day. Definitely one of my favorite Thai spots and will keep coming back!

I think both times I've dined I've left satisfied, but not full. *What I Recommend What I Ordered: - Moo Ping*: super tender + flavorful, sauce added nothing - Pork Boat Noodles (egg noodles): only way I'll eat pork blood, 5 pieces of meat- some tender, some overcooked, not enough morning glory + too much bean sprouts, decent flavor - Chicken Pad See Ew: good noodles, not too greasy, very tender chicken, I want to compare it to the Canto chow fun, which it does not live up to - Ginger Lemon Tea: great hand warmer, has the ginger flavor without the spice, which I like, only got the lemon flavor at the end
Pye Boat Noodle is a hidden gem in our neighborhood! Whenever we visit we always leave satisfied. The staff is incredibly kind and the prices are very reasonable at around $15-20 for noodle dishes. Restaurant setting is very well decorated with a cute backyard for when the weather is good. We ordered the Chicken Noodles Soup and the Tom Yum Bolarn Noodle. Both were delicious and hit the spot, my only gripe is that the broths tend to be a little salty for my tastes - but this is really a personal preference. Would recommend for folks visiting or living in the area to give it a try!
I had the crab fried rice here and was good although I do wish I had more crab. Surprised how good it was given it's not a specialty.

The service could have been more attentive (being in the back made it hard to flag them down when we were ready for the bill; I had to walk up to one of them who was by the kitchen window) but otherwise a pretty good experience.
I got to try the larb moo, Sukothai noodles, and pad gra pow. I tried the broth of the boat noodles as well and wow it's rich and delicious. The larb moo is typically one of my favorite Thai dishes, and this was was just as spicy and mine infused as I like it. However, the portion was rather small for what it was! The Sukothai noodles were refreshing and flavorful, and portion was good. The peanuts and cilantro really elevate the soup. Highly recommend getting it with the rice noodles! The interior is also very cute, with an outdoor patio for seating in the back.
This place was the most authentic Thai restaurant I have been to. I normally just get the Pad Thai or Pad See Ew at Thai places - but there were so many more noodle options!! We ordered the Tom Yum noodles (wide noodles), which came with fish balls, fish cakes, and crispy wontons. It was delicious, including the wide rice noodles, and the soup was flavorful and a bit sweet. Not too potent or spicy. I would get it again. The Ba Mee (egg noodles) were dry noodles and still quite good. It came with crab meat (not imitation crab) and meat. I liked the egg noodles, but preferred their soup noodles more. Papaya salad was also good, fresh, and came with pork rinds that were delicious. Service was great. The restaurant is decorated nicely. This is a great spot if you want Thai food or noodles in Astoria, a walk from the Broadway stop.
PBN is solid casual source of Thai food and tropical vibes. It's especially fun when the courtyard opens in the summer. As to specific dishes, I recommend starting with the Fried Pork Strips appetizer. It's simple, crispy and delicious. I've come a few times with groups and that's often the table's favorite. But the menu is more than adequate to address most of your Thai cravings. Plus, the service is friendly and the food comes out quickly. If you're in the neighborhood, it's a cool place to hang out on a summer night.
I'm a sucker for boat noodles so this place has been on my list for a bit. Walking in, the place is very kitschy and reminiscent of Thailand. Opted for the boat noodles with beef. It was decent and legit though not the best I've had. The yentafo was a bit more lackluster. It was good, but not as flavorful and fermented as others so more on the lighter side which I suppose may appeal to more palates. Overall a decent spot for boat noodles. And they have other smaller stuff you can also order

After nearly a dozen years, Pye Boat Noodle has gone from the neighborhood's best kept secret to becoming one of the borough's most popular Thai spots. They've been consistent with service and food, and the vibe is very reminiscent of my time in Thailand. Located in the busiest part of Astoria (#1), they've done a great job at taking the narrow interior and making the most of the their interior and patio dining (#2). "Pye" is paddle in Thai, which is an homage to the boat food culture in the canals of Bangkok. Their pye boat noodle ("guay tiew ruea") is their signature dish and is sufficiently porky with slices of pork meat, pork meatballs, pork rinds, and in a pork blood broth. Beef is also an option, but I still think the pork version wins. Of course, dry noodles are always an option. They're the more classic Thai dishes that are still tasty, such as their pad kee mao, pad see ew, and the classic pad thai. They're all very tasty, but the ba mee moo dang hang whch is more like a Chinese dry noodle dish, with egg noodles and a smatter of yu choy and roasted pork + crab. Another banger is their sukhothai noodles, which is in a chicken soy broth with dried shrimp, ground pork, roasted pork and pork rind, with a nice topping of cilantro and scallion. Price wise, it's a bit up there but it's also Astoria. Entrees are going to range from $16-22, and there i no shortage of variety from their robust selection. While service takes a small dive on their busiest nights, all Thai food lovers owe it to themselves to try this place at least once. ___________ (#1) Broadway. This place is probably the most authentic Thai spot we have gone to. Not a lot of places have boat noodles and we were able to adjust our broth by omitting the blood to have it more clear. It was a nice taste reminding us of the food we had in Bangkok. Everything was tasty, simple, and affordable. read more
Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. I order delivery and pick up and dine in at Pye regularly and it is reliable, consistent and always tasty! Their dishes always have a lot of flavor. When I need comfort I'll order a rice or soup, if I want that extra flavor I'll order one of their stir fry dishes. Some favorites are pad kra pow with minced pork or minced chicken, bolarn noodles and pad see eaw. Their Thai iced tea is also awesome. For dine in the interior has a very like retro plus old Thailand vibe and the staff are very nice. This is easily my most frequently restaurant in the neighborhood! read more

Wonderful authentic Thai cuisine. The restaurant is a tad small, however, there is more seating at the outdoor patio. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather. Our group had a few vegetarians, but Pye Boat offers plenty of vegetarian/vegan options. I opted for the Pad Kaprow with beef, a spicy dish with garlic, chili, and basil. It was served with rice and a fried egg. It was comforting, hearty, and delicious. Staff was friendly. The prices are affordable. Food was wonderful. Overall, a solid four stars. read more

This place seemed like a cute date spot, but I did take out here. The soups were both delicious in different ways. The beef one was rich and hearty while the chicken one was sweet and light. There was not much food in each bowl unfortunately, but the little food there was good. The beef definitely edged out because egg noodles are superior and the wide noodles they had all stuck together in the sukhothai. The food came out pretty fast and the host was very quick in getting us the food. I would go back and sit down for a full experience. read more

I've heard such amazing things about Pye Boat Noodle so I made sure to come on a cold rainy day and it hit the spot! It's a relatively small restaurant but we were seated immediately upon walking in but I can see how it can get pretty packed. I got the Tom Yum Bolarn Noodle ($15.50) and it was the perfect balance of salty, sour, and sweet and the broth wasn't too heavy at all. I was impressed with how quickly the food came out and I ate it so fast because it was so good. The only reason why i'm giving it 4 stars is because the portions are pretty small for the price so if you're really hungry it may not be super filling. It's super delicious though and i'm excited to try some of the other dishes. read more

I live in Astoria and have been coming to PYE regularly for almost two years. I've never had a dish here that wasn't delicious. My personal favorites are the Tom Yum Bolarn noodle soup and the chicken curry noodle soup--both have the perfect balance of Thai flavors: sweet, salty, sour, spicy, and bitter. Fresh ingredients, bold flavors, generous portions, reasonable prices, and a welcoming staff make this a spot you'll find yourself visiting at least twice a month. read more
After reviewing their menu, it seems like this restaurant specialize in Thai noodle dishes. I have never seen so many different options of Thai noodle before. They have indoor seating as well as a court yard in the back with spacious outdoor seating. The outside is decorated nicely with a lotus pond in the middle. I love the ambiance and would highly recommend outdoor seating if the weather is nice. We got: 1. Chive pancake 6/6 2. Papaya salad 5/5 3. Kua Noodles 5/5 4. Kway Teow Kake with chicken 6/5 Everything was so delicious but the two dishes that blew my mind away were the chive pancake and the Kway teow kake (red curry noodle). The waitress recommended getting it with chicken. The chive pancake was served in rectangular cubes and it was crispy on the outside and surprisingly so soft and chewy/gooey on the inside. The surprise we felt was like biting into a fried ice cream. I also love the tangy vinegar sauce paired with the dish. The red curry noodle was so creamy and flavorful. I drank it like a soup because I didn't want to waste any drop of it! The one thing I did wish for was if they added more vegetable like bamboo or some greens. One of the most authentic Thai food I've had in America! I used to live in Malaysia and visited Thailand frequently, so my standards are quite high when it comes to Thai food. I loved the pad see ew and the boat noodles. They were full and rich with flavor without being too salty. The chicken wings were extremely crispy and flavorful. Meatballs were great too! All the staff is Thai and very friendly. The decor was super cute with Thai movie posters and decorations. We didn't have to wait on Valentines Day evening so I'd guess there isn't usually a wait. I can't wait to come back again! read more
I came for an early solo dinner because I was deeply craving soup in the start of winter, and was able to be seated immediately on a Sunday. The restaurant is bustling but they have quick service so are able to get everyone's orders quickly. I appreciated their wide selection of noodle soups on the menu, and ended up settling on the Tom Yum "Bolarn" Noodle. It was exactly what I was craving, warm and comforting broth but with a hint of lime to cut through the richness. I liked that there was minced pork as a topping, on top of the variety of fish/shrimp balls and fish cake. I ordered it with egg noodles which were bouncy and soaked up a perfect amount of broth. The restaurant was recommended by a friend of the family. This is where my cousins and I celebrated a get-together and a birthday. It was definitely a special occasion to remember. It's in a nice hidden spot and the backyard ambience looks pretty cozy with its cute little pond. I like how it's situated walking distance from residences and other businesses are close by. The worst is just parking cuz it's right in the city. Anyway, the neighbors know how to deal with it, I'm sure. Their menu items were good and had enough variety. The great thing is the menu has pictures. I like pictures because they do help with decisions and tell us if something is appetizing. However, one soup order we got was way too spicy for anyone's liking. I took that one since I can tolerate spice. Service was friendly and prompt. The waitress took time to answer any questions and introduce some dishes. That's a plus. The presentation of the food was decent as well. If I'm ever in this area again, I'd come back. read more
Came to check this place out from a friend's recommendation. I was being adventurous and tried the boat noodle with beef in blood soup and thought it was average (added some vinegar to make it taste better), not a fan of the taste. Good to try once but probably won't be back. Definitely interesting and something I haven't tried before. Chive pancake was good, thai tea was just ok too. Not too impressed with the meal. Friendly staff and they have seating outside in the back. Maybe try something different for a better experience. read more

Does anyone know if they have actually vegetarian or vegan options? Someone in a review from 2014 says that everything has fish sauce and the owner replies, sorry about that. Do we know if they have changed since then to have really vegan options?
Yes, they have 3 vegetarian/vegan dishes and those don't contain any animal products. Just had one last week and it was good.
Do they have heat lamps outside?
Anyone know if they are open for delivery currently?
